    “I love you and me” getting exciting JENNIE news, and let us tell you, honeybees: we have such a sweet scoop today! Jennie has officially signed with Columbia Records in partnership with her ODDATELIER label and entertainment company. This is huge news for BLACKPINK and JENNIE fans, and will definitely help her get the global recognition she so rightly deserves! 

    We’ll get to hear JENNIE’s first song with Columbia Records in October, so not too long to go! In the meantime, let’s run a little refresher on her solo work so far. 

    ‘SOLO’

    Of course, we have to start with JENNIE’s first foray into solo stardom! She was the first BLACKPINK member to release a solo track with the appropriately-named ‘SOLO’ in November 2018. The song’s empowering message of stepping into your power after a breakup helped establish JENNIE as one of the most confident It Girls in K-Pop, and we still have this song in our regular rotation years later. There’s no better way to hype yourself up when you need some motivation or a reminder that you’re that girl!

    ‘One Of The Girls’

    JENNIE made her acting debut in HBO Max’s The Idol in 2023 alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, who she also teamed up with in the musical department. Their collaboration, ‘One of the Girls,’ went viral in pretty much every corner of the internet, made Jennie the first female Korean soloist to have an RIAA-certified platinum track, and has racked up over a billion streams to date. If she wasn’t already an international household name, this definitely made her one!

    ‘You & Me’

    Simply put, ‘You & Me’ was a total cultural reset. We waited months for a studio version after JENNIE started performing it for her solo stage on BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK World Tour. Where ‘SOLO’ introduced us to a strong, independent JENNIE at the end of a crumbling relationship, ‘You & Me’ shows her finding a partner that fully supports her and the way she shines. It’s the kind of dazzling love everyone dreams of finding! An honorary mention goes out to the Coachella Version of the song, which includes a different rap verse.

    Elle Darlington has all the makings of your classic popstar: a whimsical, dynamic vocal range, the songwriting prowess to make any song an instantaneous pop hit, and a high-energy aura that’s both contagious and compelling.

    Similarly to the rest of the world, Darlington started uploading her music to TikTok during lockdown – where we found a fresh way to discover artists without the help of a label. From there, it didn’t take long for the world to fall in love with Elle Darlington, who amassed over 1.1 million followers thanks to her song covers.

    In October of 2023, a few short years after Darlington’s college tutor suggested she start posting her music online, she released her debut single, “wish you would.” Reminiscent of pop-diva greats like Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande, Elle Darlington entered the music scene swinging (even hitting insane whistle notes).

    “wish you would” displays her dreamy voice and ear worm-y lyrics that send me back to the early 2000’s. Her voice is glamorous and her music hits the sweet spot between nostalgic and completely, utterly unique. In terms of debut singles, it’s hard to craft one as astonishing an introduction to an artist as “wish you would.”

    Since then, Elle Darlington continues to prove she is bringing back the era of the popstar. Following up with a refreshing holiday song, “Christmas Is You”, Elle often nods to Mariah Carey’s iconic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” as her go-to Christmas jam.

    And then there’s her latest release, “hiatus”, which blends pop and R&B almost seamlessly. A song about needing a break from someone who isn’t good for you anymore, “hiatus” is yet another immaculate contribution to Darlington’s discography. You can listen to “hiatus” below.


    What makes Elle Darlington different isn’t the features in magazines like Peopleand Rolling Stone, or the record deal with Columbia Records…but the effortless talent that just exudes from her, the way the term “popstar” can be thrown into the mix and no one will bat an eye. Because some people just have the It Factor, and she’s one of them.

    As she takes the world by storm, I got the chance to speak with Elle Darlington about her new singles, what comes next, and much more. Check it out below!

    PD: You’ve been studying music your whole life. Who were your inspirations growing up and how did they influence your career?

    My first awakening into music was watching Hannah Montana when I was super young. The show was what first introduced me to ‘pop stars’. I wanted to be like her so bad! As I grew up a little I was obsessed with Rihanna, Beyonce, and Ariana Grande.

    PD: Your career took off on TikTok, where you began posting covers and gathered a following. Did you have a plan when going on the app? What kind of covers are your go-to?

    No! I had no expectations, it was actually a tutor at my college who suggested I start uploading videos. I made my account for fun in lockdown to keep myself busy and it grew from there. I like to keep my videos spontaneous so there’s isn’t much planning involved. I do love to cover a power ballad though!

    PD: Your debut single, “Wish You Would”, came out in October. After working on this project for over two years, what have you learned about yourself as a songwriter so far?

    I need to write about true experiences. It took a while to become comfortable opening up to people so that my songs could reflect my life and my vision. Once I learned how to channel my emotions it made the process way easier for me and I really feel like the more genuine I am, the more people can relate to my songs.

    PD: You have an amazing way of storytelling. If you had one piece of advice for those starting out, what would it be?

    Don’t be afraid of what people are going to think of you. Everyone starts somewhere! And trust your gut, if you believe in it, go for it.

    PD: Your new song “Hiatus” is coming out in February. What was the inspiration behind it?

    “hiatus” came from a relationship where I was feeling really unappreciated and had to learn to put myself first and walk away. I hadn’t heard the word put into a song before and I thought it was a really interesting way to talk about a breakup.

    PD: What is one thing you want your audience to take away from your music?

    I want my audience to connect my music with whatever they’re going through. Sing along to it, cry along to it.. anything it makes them feel really!

    PD: What’s next for you in 2024?

    I can’t wait to show everyone all the different things I’ve been working so hard on over the past couple of years…so lots of music to be released in 2024! and hopefully a lot of live shows too.

    Four months after making her music debut with “Stewie,” Jaidyn Alexis is signed to a major record label.

    The rising rapper announced her deal with Columbia Records via Instagram on Tuesday (Oct. 24). She shared a carousel post featuring photos of her at Columbia’s headquarters.

    “First lady, yea, I’m signed and sealed w a deal,” Jaidyn wrote in the caption, quoting her latest song “Barbie.”

    The news comes a week after she and fiancé Blueface met with the label on Tuesday (Oct. 17). In videos from that visit, Blueface joked about what requirements Jaidyn should set to get signed, including asking for four million dollars and a yacht. Their son, Javaughn, was present with them last week.

    Blueface Reacts To Jaidyn Alexis’ Deal With Columbia

    As of Tuesday, the details of her record deal haven’t been disclosed. We know that Blueface has publicly addressed Jaidyn Alexis as the “first lady” of MILF Music, an independent label he founded. On Oct. 18, he explained his goal with Jaidyn’s music career on X (formerly Twitter).

    “Milf music is a independent company which will be apart of the deal of course but the main focus is to get Jaidyn a certified record that’s played on the radio that’s where the label comes in I don’t have access to those resources only labels do,” Blueface wrote.

    Now, with Columbia behind Jaidyn Alexis, it seems Blueface’s plan is on track. The “Thotiana” artist was present with Jaidyn when she inked her deal with Columbia today.

    In a video re-shared by The Shade Room, he addressed Columbia Records reps about their partnership with MILF Music.

    “Being the marketing and budget behind Jaidyn so Columbia can see what we doing. I want to go far, I want to go to the top, I want this to never stop. I own you guys now, you guys work for us. Raise your hand if you work for MILF Music,” Blueface said as Jaidyn stood next to him.

    Over on X, Blue revealed that Jaidyn’s “Barbie” has a remix coming that will “be everywhere” thanks to MILF Music and Columbia. He added that Jaidyn “will be the hottest artist by 2024.”  

    Last week, the song peaked at no.13 on Billboard’s Top 50 TikTok chart. It has over 3.8 million views on YouTube and is one of four tracks (and music videos) Jaidyn has released since June.

    As for the signed artist, she hasn’t said much else about the accomplishment — minus re-sharing a few congratulatory posts on X.

    This marks Jaidyn’s second W of the week. Blueface proposed to her at an NFL game in Los Angeles on Sunday. The pair have been dating on and off since high school and share two children together, their son and toddler daughter, Journey.

    What stands out about quinnie are her lyrics, which take listeners on journeys through rage, heartache, love, loss, and friendships in such a refreshing way. She’s a unique talent, one who’s rapidly rising. With flounder, quinnie puts her foot forward as a new generation of songwriters who aren’t afraid of a strong melody, an eye-opening chorus, or a cut-throat bridge.

    PD: You’re releasing the deluxe version of your debut album, flounder, soon! First of all congratulations! You went from writing songs as a kid to releasing this entire body of work. What was your favorite part about creating an album?

    My favorite part of creating an album is having the opportunity to shape a broader story and learn about myself in the process. Each individual song is obviously important to me in its own way, but the way they relate to each other and allow me to spread a more impactful message is pretty cool. I think I’m just also really drawn to products of love and patience and obviously an album is a prime example of that; it’s something that during the process doesn’t feel possible to complete, but brick by brick you can build something really special.

    PD: What do you draw inspiration from when writing?

    I’m mostly inspired by magic, nature, the mysterious inner workings of us as humans and the world around us, and I’m inspired by a need to release the emotions that weigh on me.

    PD: You have an affinity for water and sea life, which is shown in the album title alone. Do you plan on incorporating these visuals into your tour or music videos as well?

    Yea, it’s one of those elements of my life that will accidentally sneak its way into everything I do. So yes, but not in any specific way I know of yet.

    PD: What was the most challenging part about making the album?

    The most challenging part is trusting that with a cumulation of tiny efforts and actions, you will eventually arrive at the end.

    PD: You’re looking forward to a tour that sold out in a day…what’s your favorite part about performing live?

    My favorite part of performing live is breathing new life into songs that my ears are otherwise pretty fatigued on. It’s revitalizing to see people relate to my work in real life when majority of interactions pertaining to my music are obviously centered on the internet. Definitely really moving for me.

    PD: What artists are inspiring you right now?

    I’ve recently been revisiting a good amount of music that I loved back in middle school… Cat Power, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros… just have been tapping back into the people who inspired me at the very beginning of things..
