    – Boom’s Pizza made quick fans on the west side after opening in Lakewood. Now, with a new spot in Shaker Heights at Van Aken, the east side will get to see what all the fuss is about.
    – Forget what the headline says, as it was written a little bit ago but: Tricky Tortoise Brewing is now open in Willoughby.
    – Everyone’s a fan of Old Brooklyn Mustard, including Michael Symon. Thanks to a new partnership between the two, the brand will get a new name and a big boost.
    – Honest, the Indian chain with a 100% vegetarian menu, gives a bountiful tour of the country’s diverse regional offerings.
    – Listening bars are all the rage in cities like New York. Cleveland’s about to get one of it’s own in West Park when Bad Medicine opens its doors this summer.
    – Bistro on the Falls in Olmsted Falls has permanently closed.

    – Irie Jamaican is now open in Lakewood, which is fabulous news for fans of Chef Omar McKay’s work. It’s his fifth spot and he shows no signs of slowing down.

    – While Pearl Street Wine Bar & Cafe closed its doors in May, those looking for dinner from Chef Karen Small won’t have to look far as Juneberry Table will add service later in the day starting June 5.

    – Dan Deagan will be turning the now-closed Bay Lanes building into a golf sim facility.

    – Rick Doody dishes on his plans for the Bell & Flower space, which closes after this weekend.

    – Finally, it took some badgering from friends and readers, but Scene dining editor Doug Trattner finally made his way to Antica Italian and he’s glad he did.

    – The folks behind Issho Ni have quickly built a sterling reputation out east for ramen, sushi, and omakase. Now, with the departure of Cha in Ohio City, they’re bringing a fresh izakaya concept and omakase tasting room to the near west side.
    – One Pot Hot Pot & BBQ is now open in Coventry, and the room and menu are something to behold.
    – The newest entry to AsiaTown is Yi Er Chuan, which serves up malatang hot pot.
    – ICYMI, Gather Food + Drink opened its doors in Rocky River.

    – Dan Deagan and Jackie Ramey want to upend what you think of dive bars when they open Wine Dive in the former El Carnicero spot in Lakewood.
    – A.J. Rocco’s version 2.0 is set to debut in the Gateway District.
    – Flight Social will bring, well, flights… of food and drink to the longtime Chocolate Bar spot downtown.
    – Stirling is set to become the newest fine dining destination in the Merriman Valley.
    – YYTime, the new food hall in AsiaTown, promised fun and variety and delivers on just that.
    – Oliva, an Italian-themed steakhouse, will open its doors in the Warehouse District any day now.
    – Gather Food + Drink opens in River.

    The Astro to open at Tower City on April 23rd.

    – The ownership group behind the Haunted House restaurant in Cleveland Heights last year took over the former Hard Rock Cafe space at Tower City, which had sat vacant for years. In the coming weeks, they’ll open the doors to their new sci-fi concept, The Astro. Here’s what to expect.
    – Rejoice, near west side dive bar lovers: The Edgewater Cafe has reopened under new management and with an interior refresh.
    – Mabel’s BBQ at Eton “temporarily closed” around Thanksgiving of last year. That closure is now permanent, leaving Michael Symon with just one Northeast Ohio restaurant.
    – Hola Tacos on Larchmere will become a Barrocco.
    – All praise to Cordelia chef Vinnie Cimino, who is a James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef in the Great Lakes region.
    – There have been more openings than closings in the first quarter of 2024, but already in a few months Cleveland has lost another handful of restaurants.
