Go ahead and inject this into my veins. Former Democrat Senator Claire McCaskill, now an MSNBC contributor, was left in tears while discussing Kamala Harris’s landslide defeat to Donald Trump.

And man, was it ever glorious.

The emotional breakdown occurred following Harris’ concession speech delivered Wednesday on the campus of Howard University. Harris vowed to keep up the fight.

“The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for,” Harris said. “But hear me when I say … the light of America’s promise will always burn bright as long as we never give up and as long as we keep fighting.”

That, it seems, is what moved McCaskill to tears.

Claire McCaskill Is Beside Herself With Grief

During MSNBC’s coverage of the speech, anchor Nicole Wallace noticed that her colleague, Claire McCaskill, was struggling to keep it together.

“I mean, in that mission and that purpose, Claire McCaskill, will determine,” Wallace began, before noticing something was amiss. “Um, you okay?”

Those three words might as well be slapped to our foreheads as we all try to navigate around our liberal friends during this very difficult time for them.

“I think I’m okay,” McCaskill replied.

She wasn’t. And Wallace, probably wishing she had a couch for the former Senator to lay down on, responded, “Tell me what you’re thinking.”

Ya know, some psychiatrists get paid $375/hour for that kind of therapy.

Harris Ran An Amazing Campaign, She Insists

Claire McCaskill, like many Harris supporters, is struggling to cope with Donald Trump’s massive, historic victory. Whereas they’ve spent the past two years genuinely believing the man was going to jail, he is instead the President-Elect, heading back to the White House.

Not since Grover Cleveland in 1893 has America had a President get elected to non-consecutive terms.

What a time to be alive!

Claire though, wants people to know just how great Kamala’s campaign was. So great, that she had to repeatedly wipe tears away while recalling its greatness.

“Well, I’m so proud — ah, I’m so proud of her,” she said fighting off the vapors. “I don’t think people realize how hard it is to get to where she was.”

“Um, as a woman, getting elected DA, it’s not easy, guys. People don’t trust women to be in charge of making decisions about life and death and crime and being, frankly, a supervisor in some ways over police.”

“Her fighting through the primary thicket of California politics to become Attorney General, really hard,” McCaskill continued. “I mean, this is really hard stuff.”

“People don’t trust women to be in charge” – Ah, the ol’ misogyny angle. Where would Democrats be without it and its close sister, ‘everyone’s a racist.’

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) used a Republican representative’s own criticism of her party to summarize the chaos engulfing the GOP.

“I can’t imagine when I was in the Senate that I would go out and be that derogatory towards the leadership of my own party,” McCaskill told MSNBC’s Alex Wagner.

The House GOP is “not a functioning majority, they are schoolyard bullies and this has devolved into something that you don’t know whether to laugh or cry because it’s so embarrassing to our country,” she added.

‘Let’s Be Honest’: Former Sen. Claire McCaskill Issues Stark Warning On Trump Fatigue

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) on Thursday tried to rally people fatigued by Donald Trump by spelling out the significance of his expected imminent indictment in special counsel Jack Smith’s probe into attempts to flip the 2020 election.

“We are numb, let’s be honest, we’re numb about Donald Trump,” McCaskill, who is now a political analyst for MSNBC, told “Deadline: White House” host Nicolle Wallace.

McCaskill listed just some of the scandals that have engulfed the former president in recent years: from the pre-2016 election leak of the “Access Hollywood” tape to his post-presidential indictments in the Stormy Daniels hush money payment case and for allegedly mishandling classified materials.

The looming election-related charges were “different” though, said the former senator.

“This is really, really important because this is all about whether or not somebody in the United States of America can get away with trying to change the outcome of a free and fair election,” she explained. “It is so fundamental to what we are as a country, it is so important.”

“I just hope that everyone out there who is right now saying, ‘Let’s quit talking about Trump so much,’ now is the time to shake off your fatigue, now is the time to find your passion and anger and your righteous indignation, that anybody should get away with this,” McCaskill added.

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill Explains Why ‘Dead Frog’ Ron DeSantis Is Doomed

    [ad_1]

Former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) on Thursday offered a blistering critique of Ron DeSantis’ 2024 presidential campaign, saying the Florida Republican governor had the “personality of a dead frog” who will only fail with his efforts to “out-Trump Trump” by spewing “more hate and bigoted language.”

DeSantis’ “biggest problem” is that “in order to be a con man, you have to have showmanship,” the former senator, who is now a political analyst for MSNBC and NBC, told MSNBC’s Alex Wagner.

But DeSantis is “no showman” and “doesn’t have the personality” to be one, she argued.

“He is awkward. Frankly, he has the personality of kind of a dead frog,” McCaskill continued. “It is really not a guy that is going to light up a room or light up a hall or light up a rally with his showmanship. “

DeSantis won’t take votes away from Trump, the ex-lawmaker continued. “The people that are with Trump now are not going anywhere. They are certainly not going to abandon him for somebody who is just kinda a wannabe of Donald Trump.”

Wagner responded with a tongue-in-cheek apology “to dead frogs everywhere.”

“It seems like what DeSantis cannot accomplish in terms of charm or wit or comedy or anything approaching warmth, he tries to make with cruelty and meanness,” she agreed.

“It’s like he’s overcompensating for a lack of personality and personable skills by just trying to be the meanest, most aggressive, shirtless warrior out there,” Wagner added. “To me that seems like a bizarre calculation, because it does miss something that is central to Trump, which is as abhorrent as a lot of Trump’s policies maybe, and much as he is a huckster, he’s also a very talented and magnetic campaigner.”
