10 Marvel Actors Who Took Home Props From Their Movies

    [ad_1]

Being an actor in a Marvel movie seems like a pretty sweet gig. You get to bring an iconic comic book character to life for millions of fans. And while the costume may not always be comfy — in fact, quite a few actors openly hated their ensembles — you sometimes get to take home a cool souvenir. Yes, that’s right. Some Marvel actors have been lucky enough to walk away from set with a piece of movie magic, whether it’s a prop, a wardrobe piece, or even a part of the set.

In some cases, these tokens are given to the actors as presents to thank them for a job well done. But Marvel isn’t always so keen on handing props over to actors to keep for good. For example, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu asked the producers if he could take home a pair of his character’s shoes, but his request was denied. That’s why some actors simply steal their desired prop and hope nobody notices. Many of them have even gotten away with it, too — until they confess to their stolen treasures in interviews. Of course, no Marvel actor has gotten in serious trouble from taking home a prop. After all, it’s quite hard to imagine an A-list actor such as Tom Holland or Ryan Reynolds getting in trouble for simply bringing home a bit of their character with them.

Controversial Superhero Casting That Paid Off

    [ad_1]

When it comes to movie adaptations of popular comic books, many fans are likely going to have strong opinions about, well, everything. From thoughts about costumes to critiques of special effects, devotees of the genre often aren’t shy to voice how they feel about a filmmaker’s interpretation of Marvel or DC source material. This also includes major casting decisions.

Sometimes, a studio’s choice to cast a certain actor creates a ripple of controversy throughout the franchise’s fanbase. People may be disgruntled that an actor doesn’t resemble the comic book version of a character closely enough — or, in some cases, an actor may be too recognizable from another project to convincingly play an iconic role. There are so many reasons fans may disagree with a casting decision, but more often than not, those decisions end up being the right ones in the long run.

While casting these actors in well-known superhero and villain roles was once considered risky, time has proven that the heads in charge ended up making the right choice. In fact, it’s pretty much impossible to think of anyone else in these roles now. It just goes to show that having a bit of faith in the creative forces behind a project usually pays off — and initial impressions can often be deceiving. An actor doesn’t get cast in a high-profile superhero movie by mistake, although it may take an audience actually watching their performance to win them over. Here are ten examples of superhero movie casting that were initially controversial — but paid off big time.

Fans were not into these actors playing these roles when they were first announced. But all was forgiven when they saw the finished product.

These actors looked great in their superhero outfits. But they were literally a pain in the butt (or other body parts) to wear.

Jana Kramer Reveals She Casually Dated Chris Evans, Shares TMI Story From One Of Their Dates

    By Melissa Romualdi.

Jana Kramer shared an “embarrassing” story involving Chris Evans, whom she casually dated over a decade ago.

While sharing her thoughts on People’s new Sexiest Man Alive, the actress shared a TMI story about why she believes things fizzled out between the two.

During Monday’s podcast episode of “Whine Down with Jana Kramer”, the former “One Tree Hill” star, 38, revealed that when she and Evans, 41, were younger, they “went on a few dates.”

“He wasn’t Captain America yet, but he was a heartthrob cutie,” Kramer shared. “I can’t remember how many dates it was, I just remember the last date.

“To this day I’m actually sort of mortified,” she said of the pair’s last exchange. “This is so embarrassing.”

The podcast host recalled going over to Evan’s house in Studio City, California one day to hang out with the actor and a few of his friends.

“It was a fun time… but I was getting a little sleepy. And so I was like, ‘Hey I’m gonna go to bed’ or whatever. And so I had asparagus for dinner that night so I went to the bathroom and he immediately went after me,” Kramer explained. “And so that’s the last interaction that I remember is him going into the bathroom after I just went to the bathroom with asparagus pee and never hearing from him again.”

Although Kramer noted that the two “didn’t hook up that night,” the next morning she did do “the asparagus walk of shame out of his house.”

“[I] never heard from him again,” she said, adding that the asparagus situation has “always been in the back of my mind.”

Despite the awkward bathroom encounter, Kramer approves of People magazine’s choice, revealing that Evans is a “great” kisser.

“I think he’s super sexy,” she admitted before exposing that she slid into his DMs “probably like a year ago.”

By the sounds of it, it seems Evans didn’t respond to Kramer, however it’s likely because the “Avengers” star has been off the market- a story that was just revealed. Evans has reportedly been in a “serious” relationship with actress Alba Baptista for over a year. The two recently went public with their romance, a few days after People‘s story, as they were photographed on Friday holding hands in New York City.

  • Chris Evans named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine

Chris Evans named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine

    [ad_1]

LOS ANGELES — Chris Evans may have put down Captain America’s shield but he’s got a new badge of honor: he’s been named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.

People’s selection was announced Monday night on Stephen Colbert’s late night show and on the magazine’s website. Evans, who for nearly a decade played Captain America in Marvel’s sprawling superhero films, takes the baton from another Avenger, Paul Rudd.

“My mom will be so happy,” he told the magazine for its cover story, which hits newsstands on Friday. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”

He also knows that he’s likely to be teased by close friends. “Really this will just be a point of bullying,” he joked in an interview. “It’s ripe for harassment.”

Among those likely to heckle him are co-stars and previous Sexiest Man Alive winners like Rudd, Ryan Reynolds and Chris Hemsworth. (Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel films, was the first Avenger to win People’s annual honor, which was first handed out to Mel Gibson in 1985.)

Other past honorees include John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Adam Levine, Richard Gere, Channing Tatum and David Beckham.

People interviewed Evans, 41, at a Georgia farmhouse, where the actor talked about finding a better work-life balance. “The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas,” he said.

Evans’ first film role came in 2000’s “The New Comers” and he played superhero Johnny Storm in two “Fantastic Four” films released in 2005 and 2007. But he gained widespread fame in 2011 with the release of “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

Since then, he’s played the wholesome superhero in 10 Marvel films, laying down his shield after saving the universe in “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019.

Evans has become a highly bankable star, voicing the Buzz Lightyear character in Pixar’s “Lightyear” film and playing a sadistic assassin trying to kill Reynolds in Nextflix’s “The Gray Man” — both released this year.

The actor told People he’s thinking about marriage and having a family, saying, “That’s absolutely something I want.”

He said he didn’t expect to talk publicly much about his private life though. “Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends.”

The Boston native also continues his involvement with the civic engagement site A Starting Point, which he co-founded in 2020.

As Evans charts the next part of his life and career, he fully expects People’s honor will be a milestone.

“It’s something that as I become old and saggy I can look back on and say ‘I remember then…’” Evans said. “I’m lucky to be in the discussion in any capacity.”
