    [ad_1]

The cast of the upcoming Scary Movie 6, titled Scary MoVIe, has grown, with a handful of returning stars and past Saturday Night Live alumni joining the upcoming film.

Who has joined the Scary Movie 6 cast?

According to a new report from Deadline, Damon Wayans Jr. and Kim Wayans will be joining the cast of the upcoming movie. Alongside them, past SNL stars Heidi Gardner, Cheri Oteri, and Chris Elliott are also joining the movie. Elliott and Oteri are both making their returns to the franchise with the casting, although it’s unclear if either will reprise older roles in the Scary Movie franchise they’ve played.

Anna Faris and Regina Hall will also reprise their respective roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks in the new Scary Movie. Marlon Wayans will also reprise his role as Shorty Meeks, per Entertainment Weekly. “I just lost 20 lbs busting my behind every day ’cause I didn’t wanna show up to set as Shorty buff at 225,” Wayans said. “That’d be lazy of me. I wanna do the work, I wanna look like Shorty. So when I’m able to [in his Shorty voice] have fun and s—, people are able to laugh at me, son.”

Plot details are being kept under wraps at this point, though Marlon has previously said that some horror movies like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Heretic, Longlegs, Get Out, and Sinners may have some references or nods in Scary MoVIe.

The Wayans Brothers are producing the project alongside Alvarez, while Jonathan Glickman, Alexandra Lowey, and Thomas Zadra serve as executive producers. Tiddes previously made the feature films 2013’s A Haunted House, 2014’s A Haunted House 2, 2016’s Fifty Shades of Black, 2017’s Naked, and 2019’s Sextuplets.

Scary MoVIe is scheduled to be released in United States theaters on June 12, 2026, from Paramount Pictures.

Simmer down now! Cheri Oteri is joining the cast of And Just Like That… for the the Max show’s third season, which just began shooting this week. While the Saturday Night Live alum’s role is still unknown, Oteri broke the news of her involvement on Instagram, posting photos of herself on set with creator Michael Patrick King. “I’m in New York and just finished shooting And Just Like That… and it was so much fun,” Oteri said in a video taken after filming in Lincoln Center Plaza. She also shared photos on set with stars Mario Cantone (Anthony) and Sarita Choudhury (Seema), giving us some fodder to speculate about who she’ll be playing and just how much she’ll appear. We can only hope she’ll be in every single scene of every single episode.

Oteri is the latest casting to come out as the show begins shooting its new season. Most recently, Rosie O’Donnell also announced her casting via Instagram, revealing that she’ll be playing a character named Mary, and gets to wear a wig. With series regulars Sara Ramirez (Che Diaz) and Karen Pittman (Dr. Nya Wallace) exiting the show, there’s plenty of room for fresh faces to join the rotation cycling through Samantha’s vacated fourth seat. And while we’re on the subject, when will Molly Shannon and Amy Sedaris finally get to reprise their roles as Carrie Bradshaw’s two powerhouse book publishers?

  • ‘SNL’ Alum Can Still Nail Her Famous Barbara Walters Impersonation

‘SNL’ Alum Can Still Nail Her Famous Barbara Walters Impersonation

    [ad_1]

Cheri Oteri, a former “SNL” cast member, broke out her impersonation of late journalism icon Barbara Walters during CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage on Saturday.

Oteri, who once interviewed Walters for a bit on “The View,” told co-hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen that the journalist had a knack for making newsworthy memories and described her as being a part of the fabric of her childhood.

Walters died on Friday at the age of 93 and tributes from across the media industry have poured in to honor the iconic broadcaster.

“For every newsworthy memory, she was there,” Oteri said.

Oteri, who has broken out her impersonation during CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage in past years, later revealed what she initially thought of trying her hand at Walters on “SNL.”

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is such a big responsibility,’” Oteri said.

“I didn’t want to do it, but then I was like, ‘Wait a second. That would be such an honor.’ So I studied her like I never studied somebody before.”

She added: “Then to have her blessing and be on The View, I was just in awe. She broke every journalistic barrier for women, and here she is asking me, ‘Cheri, how do you do me?’”

Oteri later recalled telling Walters that when she does an interview she usually gives “three compliments and then [goes] in for the kill.’”

You can watch Oteri’s impersonation of Walters around the 1:48 mark in the video below.

Oteri isn’t the only “Saturday Night Live” alum to impersonate Walters.

Gilda Radner’s recurring “Baba Wawa” character helped define her time with the NBC comedy sketch show between 1975 to 1980.

Radner’s impersonation, Walters once said, marked the first time that a comedian made fun of news anchors.

“Gilda was the original and, of course, I laughed at everybody as long as it wasn’t me,” Walters said.

“When Gilda first began to do ‘Baba Wawa,’ I hated it. I didn’t like it… I don’t talk that way and I do pronounce my R’s. Why did my parents have to name me Baba Walters?”

Walters recalled later embracing Radner when she encountered her in France.

“It was lovely and it was sweet, I loved her before and I’ve loved her ever since.”
