Meet The Next It Boy: Drew Starkey

    [ad_1]

Before you come at me: I’ve seen the thirst trap TikToks about Drew Starkey as the erratic Rafe in Netflix’s
Outer Banks. I know he’s been White Boy of the Month for a select group since 2020.

    Sure,
Outer Banks has a cast of overly attractive adults playing teenagers ripping off The Goonies. It’s terrific television due to how outrageously good-looking the cast is…and every viewer has their own personal favorite.

For many, that is Drew Starkey’s reckless, violent and unstable Rafe Cameron. If you search “Rafe Cameron edit” on TikTok, there are a multitude of videos with
millions of likes. His Outer Banks clips alone have been repurposed and replayed billions of times.

While Drew Starkey made a name for himself as a heartthrob in the industry, he’s on his way to becoming a serious actor. This time, he’s in the same league as Daniel Craig in Luca Guadagnino’s
    Queer.

The film — which received a
nine-minute standing ovation at this year’s Venice Film Festival — is the most daring movie of either actor’s career. Famous for his portrayal of LGBTQ relationships, Guadagnino’s Call Me By Your Name is a highly regarded film for this generation.

You already know who Daniel Craig — AKA 007 — is…but with the serious buzz around Starkey, everyone’s wondering: who the hell is he and — more importantly — is he single?

    What is Queer About?

Queer is a historical romance drama that follows American expat — William Lee — in 1940s Mexico City as he falls in love with a younger man — Eugene Allerton. The film is based on a short novel that was written in the 50s by William S. Burroughs and published in 1985.

The book is semi-autobiographical and tracks Lee as he travels through South America and Mexico in search of sexual gratification and drugs. Lee — played by Daniel Craig — grows infatuated with fellow drug-addict, Allerton, who is played by Starkey.

It’s a complex, controversial novel for many reasons: mainly being that the novel came out during the rampantly homophobic 80s. This won’t be an easy love story to consume by any means.

The film debuted at Venice Film Festival on September 3, 2024 to rave reviews. Many are saying it’s the best performance from either actor. And there’s already Oscar buzz for Craig.

As the film ended in Venice, Guadagnino was met with chants of “Luca! Luca!” His recent success with
Challengers starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist was another amazing homoerotic blockbuster.

But there’s another pressing fact that’s becoming increasingly prevalent: Drew Starkey is about to become the people’s princess.

    Here Comes Drew Starkey Season

    @jcqedits this edit is kinda 🥴 #famouseditxx #edit #fyp #rafecameron #obx #obx3 #outerbanks #outerbanksseason4 #obx4 #jcqedits ♬ som original – 𝗝𝗰 ♞

If you thought the thirst traps were bad when Drew Starkey starred as deranged sociopath Rafe Cameron…wait till you see Eugene Allerton in
    Queer.

The ladies have been swooning over his red carpet outfits, his press circuit quips, and
steamy photos of him during this era. And while the film’s release date has not yet been set, I’m sure theaters will be packed.

His appearance at Venice Film Festival already stirred up internet memes, with his blue suit giving people PTSD flashbacks to last year’s Harry Styles —
Don’t Worry, Darling — SpitGate drama.

He has all the makings for the next Hollywood heartthrob that we’ve been yearning for. Yes, Brad Pitt may be old and a terrible person…but there
is a whole new wave of young, handsome actors to usher in.

So, while we gear up for the Drew Starkey inevitable renaissance, let’s answer the question we’re all here for:

    Is Drew Starkey Single?

    People ship the entire
Outer Banks cast together…but don’t let it confuse you. Essentially, no one in the cast is dating in real life anymore.

    Since his 2022 appearance in
Hellraiser, Starkey has been linked to fellow co-star Odessa A’Zion. With multiple Instagram appearances on each other’s accounts, it looked like the pair were an item….until recently.

Neither A’Zion nor Starkey had confirmed their relationship in the first place…so fans are safe to assume that Drew Starkey is single until proven otherwise.

All the Best Red Carpet Fashion from the 2024 Venice Film Festival

    [ad_1]

The Venice Film Festival has begun—get ready for 11 days of some of the best red carpet fashion of the year. WireImage

While last year’s Venice Film Festival was a quieter, more subdued occasion than usual due to the SAG-AFTRA and WAG strikes, the 2024 iteration is expected to bring the usual array of A-list filmmakers and celebrities to the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido for a week and a half of premieres, screenings and parties.

Isabelle Huppert is the 2024 jury president, and this year’s cinematic line-up is packed with some of the most anticipated movies of the year. Todd PhillipsJoker: Folie à Deux, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival, as is Luca Guadagnino’s Queer (with Daniel Craig and Jason Schwartzman), Pablo Larrain’s Maria (starring Angelina Jolie) and Halina Reijn’s Babygirl (Nicole Kidman), among many others. Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, screened out of competition, will open the festival.

Along with plenty of must-see films, the stars also bring their sartorial best for the glamorous film festival in Venice, Italy, strutting down the red carpet in fashionable designs—this is, after all, the very event that brought us couture moments like Florence Pugh’s dazzling black glitter Valentino ensemble at the Don’t Worry Darling premiere, along with Zendaya’s custom leather Balmain dress in 2021 and Dakota Johnson in bejeweled Gucci.

The 81st annual Venice International Film Festival kicks off on August 28 and runs through September 7, which means a whole lot of high-fashion moments are headed for Lido. Below, see the best red carpet fashion from the 2024 Venice Film Festival.

  • Did Everyone Sleep Through The 2024 Met Gala?

Did Everyone Sleep Through The 2024 Met Gala?

    [ad_1]

For sports fans, there’s the Super Bowl. For fashion fans, there’s the Met Gala.

Every year on the first Monday in May, Anna Wintour, reigning editor-in-chief and pinnacle of fashion at
Vogue, hosts the Met Gala. It’s technically a charity event to raise an egregious amount of money for The Costume Institute…but in reality, it’s an excuse for the biggest celebrities in the world to flaunt looks from the biggest fashion houses in the world.

All we ever get to see from the elusive Gala is the red carpet, but for about three hours the world circulates photos of outfits…judging like they have degrees in fashion and are the next Joan Rivers. But this year’s theme was especially exciting for me.

What was the 2024 Met Gala Theme?

    This year’s theme was
Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, with the focus being “Garden in Time.” A “sleeping beauty” in fashion refers to a piece that is only worn once before being stored away forever. These pieces are often tarnished after they’re worn once.

But as always, there’s a theme within the theme. “Garden in Time” implied nods to nature, which would explain the floral prints and natural elements like mother of pearl and wood. These themes also opened the door for sustainability: reworking and re-wearing pieces that have already existed. Not creating an entirely new costume from scratch.

Once these pieces go on display, they can’t be touched again or they’re considered ruined. While many celebrities weren’t wearing original “Sleeping Beauty” pieces, there were references to vintage collections from classic designers like Versace, Alexander McQueen, and, of course, Loewe.

Loewe happened to be the belle of the ball this year. The hottest brand of 2024 (by far) secured high-profile celebrities like Taylor Russell, Ariana Grande, Dan Levy, Omar Apollo, and more. And not only was
everyone wearing Loewe, the craftsmanship and detail was breathtaking in every way.

As I continued to watch notable figure after notable figure grace the famous Met staircase, I continued to wonder where every Met Gala icon was? Where was Rihanna and A$AP Rocky? Blake Lively? Hailey and Justin Bieber? Selena Gomez, perhaps?
THE Bella Hadid? Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce? Harry Styles? Billie Eilish and FINNEAS?

Perhaps a few literally slept through the Met Gala this year…but nonetheless, the celebs showed up. And I’m here to critique them.

    Best Dressed

    Lana Del Rey

Her first Met in six years and Lana Del Rey shines in custom-made Alexander McQueen. She’s on-theme, the embodiment of Mother Nature.

    Mona Patel

Of course, this was a Law Roach style. But Mona Patel had, by far, the best dress of the night. The animated butterflies on her arms were magical.

    Tyla

Nothing says “Sleeping Beauty” more than a gown made of sand specifically molded to Tyla’s body. She even had to get carried up the stairs in her custom Balmain.

    Zendaya

Law Roach, the stylist you are. Zendaya treated the Met stairs as her runway with multiple show-stopping looks.

    Kendall Jenner

I mean, the dress literally was only ever worn on a mannequin and fit Kendall Jenner – with no tailoring. That’s fate.

    Mindy Kaling

The dress, titled “Melting Flower of Time”, was designed by Gaurav Gupta. It was walking art, stunned.

    Harris Reed

Harris Reed is responsible for some of Harry Styles’ most iconic looks…but tonight, they were the moment.

    Taylor Russell

Speaking of Harry Styles…Taylor Russell had one of my favorite Loewe pieces. The wood bodice corset contrasted with the gown.

    Worst Dressed

    Kylie Jenner

I just think she could’ve done more than a vintage bridal look…

    Sabrina Carpenter

For her first Met, I’m a bit disappointed despite the fact that her makeup is gorgeous.

    Nicholas Galitzine

If I see one more black suit variant…

    Chase Stokes

We call any attractive male with a suit and no shirt underneath “daring” and “fashion-forward.”

    Dan Levy

Wishing this Loewe moment was white.

    Josh O’Connor

    The shoes?

    Mike Faist

    The turnip?

Kelsea Ballerini And Chase Stokes Make Adorable Red Carpet Debut At 2023 CMT Music Awards

    [ad_1]

    By Tionah Lee‍ , ETOnline.com.

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes made their adorable red carpet debut! On Sunday, the “Window With a View” singer and the “Outer Banks” star arrived together at the 2023 CMT Awards — marking their first major public appearance as a couple.

Ballerini, who is co-hosting the ceremony alongside Kane Brown — wore a body-hugging corseted dress with pointed heels. It’s possible that this isn’t the only outfit the 29-year-old musician will wear this evening.

Ballerini and Stokes have been linked since January, and she later confirmed their romance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. A source told ET last month that “Kelsea is focusing on the good things in her life and her relationship with Chase” after her highly publicized split from Morgan Evans.

“They’re having a great time together,” the source said of Ballerini and Stokes. “Chase has been super supportive of her, and they are there for each other both professionally and in their personal lives.”

Ballerini’s boo will be supporting her from the crowd as she and Brown MC the evening. The “Peter Pan” songstress is also nominated for two awards, Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year (“Heartfirst”).

The “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat” songstress is also set to hit the stage to perform her latest single, “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)”

During a conversation with ET, earlier this week, Ballerini revealed that her SNL buddy, Travis Kelce, is introducing her.

“He is coming in from SNL itself and coming to introduce my performance, which I’m very excited about,” she said about the Super Bowl champion. “Anything else is a surprise.”

Ballerini also talked about bringing the girl power with her performance.

“It’s a song all about friendship and camaraderie,” she explained to ET, “and the people in your life that you just will stand up for and kind of your ride or dies.”

The 2023 CMT Music Awards airs live on CBS and is streaming on Paramount+. For more coverage of the big event, including all of the night’s winners, keep checking back with ETonline.

Kelsea Ballerini Unfollows Morgan Evans As He Unveils Five-Part Docuseries On Breakup Single ‘Over For You’

    [ad_1]

    By Brent Furdyk.

Kelsea Ballerini is taking yet another step to distance herself from ex-husband Morgan Evans.

According to a report in Page Six, Ballerini unfollowed Morgan’s Instagram account, following the exes settling their divorce in November and the subsequent revelation that she’s now dating “Outer Banks” star Chase Stokes.

Last week, Ballerini appeared on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, where she took issue with Evans’ claims of being “blindsided” by the breakup in his new single “Over For You”.

“As he’s putting out a song about being blindsided, he’s taking half the house that he didn’t pay for,” Ballerini said. “How was I married to this person for this long and I had no idea that that bit of character was tucked within that human being?”

Following the interview, a report from Page Six alleged that Ballerini cheated on Evans with The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart during their marriage.

Meanwhile, in the midst of all this post-divorce drama, Evans is now telling his side of the story in a five-part docuseries for “Over for You”.

According to a press release, the docuseries follows Evans on tour in Australia and New Zealand, including CMC Rocks QLD Festival, where he debuted “Over for You” to a crowd of 25,000 fans. “This song is the most personal thing I’ve ever written and the most personal thing I’ve ever shared,” said Evans. “I didn’t realize that I was going to feel this, but after I played it at CMC Rocks, I did feel a weight off my chest.”

“Directed by Peter John, the docuseries brings viewers backstage and back home where Evans grew up,” the release states. “After a year of planning and just weeks before shooting, Evans went through a divorce. That’s when Evans sat down to write what he calls ‘the song from my heart.’ The CMC Rocks performance received hundreds of thousands of views on social media. In response, ‘Over For You – Live in Melbourne’ was then recorded and released to DSPs.”

  • What Shows Should You Stream This Spring?

What Shows Should You Stream This Spring?

    [ad_1]

I’m at that point in life where I’m re-watching my favorite comfort shows for the zillionth time because nothing else is on. All of the shows I watch aren’t currently airing, and quite frankly, I’m bored. I can essentially quote New Girl word-for-word now because of this agonizing lull.

And while Zooey Deschanel is never the wrong choice, I’m already counting down the days until I have something new to watch. There are plenty of good shows in existence, but when it takes Euphoria three years to create a new season…times get tough.

Luckily enough for me – and the rest of the world – there have been a few recent announcements that have restored my faith in the streaming service gods. The TV networks have seen me re-watch Ted Lasso for the umpteenth time and decided it’s finally time to give me a new season. We can collectively release a sigh of relief.

HBO Max, Apple TV+, Netflix, and more have been slowly announcing their upcoming shows for spring 2023 and I’m finally feeling better. I can feel myself being released from the grip of excessive reality television as we speak. I’ve even been watching countless re-runs of Degrassi (which is Drake at his best, by the way).

If you’re feeling a little uninspired, underwhelmed, and burnt out from browsing Hulu’s main page for a show to stick out – same. But there’s hope on the horizon. Here are the best shows to stream this spring across all platforms:

    Ted Lasso – Apple TV+, March 15

With 40 Emmy nominations and 11 wins, the accolades speak for themselves.
Ted Lasso follows Jason Sudeikis as the title character throughout his time coaching AFC Richmond soccer as an American football coach. With lovable characters like Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), it’s hard not to become obsessed with the show.

Everyone loves a good underdog story, and this one is no exception. This season’s dilemma? How will Coach Nate coaching Rupert’s team affect AFC Richmond’s future?

Succession – HBO Max, March 26

Another huge contender at the Emmy’s: HBO Max’s Succession. It’s a drama series reminiscent of the Murdaugh family, with Logan Roy (Brian Cox) heading the media conglomerate Waystar Royco. Although his retirement is ever-looming, his children Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), and Shiv (Sarah Snook) are constantly competing for a spot at the head of the table.

Viewers go insane for the relationship between Cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) and Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen), but season four is going to be explosive considering all of the children are in their “Reputation Era” of sorts.

    Quarterback – Netflix

    Netflix just announced they’re releasing
Quarterback, which follows three QBs in the NFL during the 2022 season. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Marcus Mariota (Atlanta Falcons), and Kirk Cousins (Minnesota Vikings) were mic’d up each game and are now giving fans the most intimate look into the season.

Since there are a little under 200 days until we see the next snap of a football,
Quarterback will be a great placeholder. Fans of the game will have a chance to see some of the league’s most exciting quarterbacks in action like they’ve never seen before.

    You – Netflix, March 9

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvwvHrtL1xY

It feels like Penn Badgley becomes the most viral person on the internet whenever a new season of You premieres. The newest installment of the Netflix series has been divided in two parts. The first is out now, and the next comes out March 9.

We are finally seeing Joe get a taste of his own medicine. In a Knives Out-style who-dunnit, Joe is surrounded by a group of rich elite in England and someone is out to get him. With rising stars like Lukas Gage (Euphoria, White Lotus), I’m anticipating big things from part two.

Outer Banks – Netflix, February 23

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0w8iL2vS04

Brace yourselves. Soon everyone will be back trying to mold themselves into a John B derivative. Outer Banks is back for another season of rewriting The Goonies and us eating it up. Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Rudy Pankow, Drew Starkey, Madison Bailey, and Jonathon Daviss will take up our social media from here on out.

Netflix knows they have a grip on the TikTok community with this show, so I can only imagine there will be lots of thirst-trap-worthy clips, a run-in with the police and the Kooks, and a plethora of bandanas tied around the neck. The Outer Banks, paradise on Earth.

Daisy Jones & The Six – Amazon Prime Video, March 3

If you know me, you know I’ve been anticipating this show for almost a year now. One of my favorite books of all time by Taylor Jenkins Reid has been turned into an Amazon Prime miniseries. If you’re a fan of Fleetwood Mac and 70’s rock and roll, this show will give you your fix.

With a star-studded cast featuring Riley Keough (Elvis’ granddaughter), Suki Waterhouse, Sam Claflin, and Camila Morrone, I expect nothing less than excellence. Keough and Claflin play TJR’s version of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, as the show follows the tumultuously talented band looking back on their prime years.
