Kate Middleton Arrives in the U.S. for the First Time in 8 Years—See the Pics

    [ad_1]

Welcome to America, Will and Kate! The Prince and Princess of Wales just touched down on U.S. soil for the first time in eight years. They arrived in Boston for a three-day tour, which will culminate in the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards honoring leaders in environmentalism.

They previously visited New York City in 2014 and Los Angeles in 2011. This is their first appearance in the U.S. since becoming the Prince and Princess of Wales after Queen Elizabeth’s passing. For the occasion, Kate Middleton wore a subdued eggplant-hued pantsuit and classic pumps along with sapphire earrings from Princess Diana’s collection. • I Just Found the Perfect $80 Alt for Ashley Olsen’s Gorgeous $3000 Handbag

I Just Found the Perfect $80 Alt for Ashley Olsen’s Gorgeous $3000 Handbag

    [ad_1]

Ashley Olsen could wear anything, and I’d think it was chic, and for good reason. It usually is. One half of the design duo behind The Row, Olsen is a walking ad campaign for the brand that everyone in fashion—no matter their personal style or taste—adores. So of course, when she steps out for even the most mundane of errands, her look inspires.

This time around, she was spotted checking off to-dos in NYC in a black tailored maxi coat, puddle pants, and a colorful scarf, but it was her bag—a $3000+ rectangular shoulder bag from The Row—that reeled me in. Simple, black, and bowler-like, the bag in question is utterly timeless and selling out like crazy. As much as I’d love to be one of those people snatching up the last few available styles, though, Olsen’s bag is just slightly (read significantly) out of my budget at the moment. Luckily, after a great deal of scrolling through Amazon, I discovered an alternative that called out to me just as much, and it’s $80.

Shop my $80 alternative to Olsen’s gorgeous $3000+ The Row bag below.

Hailey Bieber Wore the Platform Uggs That Sell Out Every December

    [ad_1]

Hailey Bieber definitely plays favorites when it comes to the brands in her closet. She has a penchant for wearing labels like Saint Laurent, Staud, and Bottega Veneta, but one of her faves is a lot more accessible than the rest: Ugg. She’s previously worn the hugely popular Ugg Fluff Yeah Sandals, which have thousands of five-star reviews on Nordstrom’s website, in case you were wondering. Now, she’s back at it with a new style by Ugg.

Last night, Bieber was photographed in Los Angeles wearing Ugg Neumel Platform Booties ($150), which have a tendency to sell out extremely quickly. The platform boots feature a cool front zipper detail, a trend that Zoë Kravitz is also a fan of. Scroll down to see how Bieber styled the new Uggs, and shop them before they sell out.

  • Kendall Jenner Just Started a New Legging-Outfit Trend That’ll Be Big in 2023

Kendall Jenner Just Started a New Legging-Outfit Trend That’ll Be Big in 2023

    [ad_1]

Ah, to have Kendall Jenner’s workout wardrobe. Just like every area of her highly enviable wardrobe, it never disappoints. Jenner was photographed this week leaving a studio with Hailey Bieber and Justine Skye, and her outfit, as simple as it was, is worth talking about.

It’s not easy coming up with fresh legging outfits at this point, but with an effortless styling trick and a few key accessories, Jenner accomplished it. The hallmark of a great workout outfit is that it’s both functional during the class or gym session and cool enough to go to brunch (or the grocery store, a coffee shop, etc.) after. Jenner’s is all of those things. It consisted of black high-waisted leggings, a sports bra, and a coordinating sweater draped across her shoulders. Add to that a roomy handbag and crew socks with trendy sneakers, and you have yourself a cool, trend-forward legging outfit that won’t make you look like you tried that hard. It’s always the easy outfit formulas that become trends, so look out for this combination come 2023. Keep scrolling to get a head start.

  • EmRata Went on a Date With Pete Davidson Wearing a Cult-Favorite Puffer

EmRata Went on a Date With Pete Davidson Wearing a Cult-Favorite Puffer

    [ad_1]

After escorting Kim Kardashian to the Met Gala dressed as President John F. Kennedy, I was convinced that nothing Pete Davidson could do would shock me. Then I heard rumors about him and Emily Ratajkowski, and shocked I most certainly was. Not that I’m mad about it. Actually, in the photos that just surfaced of the model-comedian duo courtside at Madison Square Garden for a New York Knicks game this weekend, they looked good together. Like, really good.

Then again, Ratajkowski looks great no matter who she’s sitting next to, especially when she’s wearing the puffer jacket that season after season, makes a huge impression on the celebrity scene. The style, North Face’s 1996 Retro Nuptse, costs $320 and has been spotted on everyone from Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Aniston to, most recently, Hailey Bieber. With hers, a chocolate-brown alternative to the more popular black colorway, Ratajkowski wore light-wash jeans, snakeskin knee-high boots from Dear Frances, and a vintage Dior saddle bag. Not bad for their first official outing together.

Amal Clooney Wore Controversial Boots to the Airport That’d Make TSA Squirm

    [ad_1]

When deciding what to wear to the airport, I always have two questions in mind. First: Is it easy to wear through the security check? Second: Is it easy to use the restroom in? Things like complicated footwear, jumpsuits, and too-tight skinny pants are some of the biggest offenders that don’t pass the test, but Amal Clooney is out here throwing caution to the wind and making me deeply reconsider.

Photographed at JFK Airport, Clooney wore formfitting, over-the-knee leather boots while traveling, and I simply can’t imagine how cumbersome they’d be for TSA purposes. Plus, the stiletto heels aren’t exactly built for schlepping around the terminal. That said, she certainly looks as chic as ever, so can you blame her for wanting to photograph well? Scroll down to see her controversial airport shoes, and shop for more TSA-friendly boots.

  • Katie Holmes Wore the Winter Accessory That Makes Every Outfit Look Expensive

Katie Holmes Wore the Winter Accessory That Makes Every Outfit Look Expensive

    [ad_1]

As a busy New Yorker, Katie Holmes is a pro at putting together casual, comfortable outfits that look great with sneakers. And in the late fall and winter, it’s important to also protect yourself from the chill while walking around the city. This week, she showed how it’s done with her chic, low-key outfit.

Holmes paired a long, oversized black coat with a white T-shirt, baggy jeans, sneakers, and the accessory that’s the subject of this piece: a camel scarf. We’d waxed poetic time and time again about the expensive-looking touch the color camel has, and that never changes. It retains its popularity for a reason, and the beauty of a cozy scarf is that it adds that luxe look to even the most casual winter outfits on a daily basis. Yes, you can get away with wearing the same camel scarf daily and no one will bat an eye. This makes it a great investment, but you needn’t even spend a lot of money on one.

Holmes’ scarf is by TOTEME, which makes some of the best camel scarves around, and even hers comes in at a very reasonable $220 for an item that you may hold onto forever. Scroll to shop hers and a handful of other camel scarves that are worth every penny.

Is Aubrey Plaza dressing for revenge? Because it sure looks like it. Not only did she debut newly-blonde hair, but she stepped out in arguably her sultriest red carpet look to date: a plunging black Monot gown with an up-to-there slit. Oh, and it was backless, too. I’m loving this new vibe, Aubrey!

Kerry Washington Wore the Practical Airport Outfit That Will Never Betray You

    [ad_1]

We’ve seen plenty of impractical celebrity airport outfits lately, so it’s refreshing to see one that we non-famous folks would actually wear to the airport. See Kerry Washington. Washington was photographed at JFK this week wearing a comfortable, chic travel outfit that you could feasibly copy every time you catch a flight for the rest of your life—it’s that good.

Washington’s outfit consisted of a matching sweater set (specifically, a turtleneck sweater and loose pants, probably cashmere) in an oatmeal shade, followed by an oversize black coat and white sneakers. The set looks comfortable enough to take a nice long transcontinental nap in and the coat adds a dose of polish to the look. And you know what they say—always wear your bulkiest piece on the plane so that it doesn’t take up your entire suitcase.

Finding the right cashmere sweater is a bit like Goldilocks searching for the perfect porridge. Sometimes the price tag is too high, and sometimes the quality is too low, and it can be difficult to find the one that’s “just right.” If you can relate, you’ll be happy to learn that I’ve finally found the best cashmere pullover at Reformation thanks to Jessica Biel.

Appearing on Rachael Ray, Biel wore Reformation’s Cashmere Crew in Gossamer ($148), which strikes the ideal balance between quality—no itchiness here!—and price. The best part? It also comes in six other colors: pink, tan, black, brown, red, and off-white. I’ll have one of each, please. Scroll down to shop Jessica Biel’s new Reformation cashmere crew-neck sweater.

Michelle Obama Wore the Denim Trend Everyone’s Replacing Skinny Jeans With

    [ad_1]

During Michelle Obama’s eight years as our first lady, we didn’t get to see her in too many casual outfits—she was much likelier to be photographed in sophisticated Jason Wu dresses. In the years since then, I’ve been reveling in seeing her true personal style shine through. I mean, who could forget those Balenciaga sparkly boots? For her latest outfit, she experimented with the denim trend that’s been surging in popularity: baggy, wide-leg cargo jeans, which are pretty much the antithesis of skinny jeans.

Obama wore Ganni’s Rinse Denim Fitted Blazer ($395) and Angi Jeans ($295) to an event in Washington, D.C., promoting her new book, The Light We Carry. I realize I might sound like a broken record at this point, but slouchy jeans are truly the most popular denim style with celebrities and influencers right now. • Jenna Ortega Just Wore a Sheer, Lace Dress With the Highest Slit, Like, Ever

Jenna Ortega Just Wore a Sheer, Lace Dress With the Highest Slit, Like, Ever

    [ad_1]

Jenna Ortega is taking her press tour for Netflix’s new Addams Family series Wednesday very seriously, especially when it comes to her outfits. A month after wearing a completely sheer, black lace dress to Valentino’s S/S 23 show, the Gen Z darling wore a similar, albeit even more daring sheer, lace look for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. This time, though, her dress featured a sky-high slit unlike any we’ve seen before.

For the show, Ortega and her stylist Enrique Melendez chose a long-sleeve, half French lace and half opaque dress from the fashion favorite label Dion Lee and a pair of Christian Louboutin platforms. In addition to the see-through material, it also featured cutouts around the ribs and up to the actress’s hip on one side. Bold? Yes. Shockingly pretty? Also yes.

EmRata Wore Sweatpants and Trendy Sneakers to Celebrate Pete Davidson’s Birthday

    [ad_1]

In the most inevitable news of the week (just watch this), it seems that Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski might be dating, and we now basically have proof. Yesterday was Davidson’s 29th birthday, and last night, photographers captured him in front of EmRata’s apartment building to pick her up in a Mini Cooper. (Given the paparazzi situation, she ended up taking an Uber to meet him. Just setting the stage here.)

I’m sure both Davidson and Ratajkowski would’ve preferred the paparazzi not to be there waiting for them, but it did allow us a glimpse of her chill outfit for the possible date. It consisted of low-rise sweatpants, a crop top, a black cropped puffer, and trendy Asics Gel-Kayano 14 Sneakers. It was a very “hanging out with Pete Davidson on his birthday in Brooklyn” look if you ask me. Scroll to see it for yourself and shop the pieces needed to re-create it.

  • Florence Pugh Bravely Wore the Pants I Wouldn’t Dare Wear to the Airport

Florence Pugh Bravely Wore the Pants I Wouldn’t Dare Wear to the Airport

    [ad_1]

I use the term “bravely” quite loosely here, but in the context of airport outfits, Florence Pugh’s is just that. In my personal opinion, airport outfits live and die by what pants you wear. Choose a pair that’s uncomfortable or annoying in the least and you may quickly have regrets while waiting in line at security. Pugh, who was photographed landing at LAX this week, wore pants that I’d wear in life, but certainly not to the airport.

So what made these pants an airport “no” for me? Nothing more than the fact that they’re white. While her trousers look quite comfortable to me, the fact that they’re so light in color pretty much guarantees that I’d get them dirty in an airport and on the plane. If you’re confident that you can avoid this fate, I’m impressed and I encourage you to wear a pair of light-colored pants, because Pugh does look incredibly chic. I, on the other hand, will be sticking to dark colors that’ll hide the inevitable coffee spills and scuff marks.

Read on to see Pugh’s brave (but also very stylish) airport outfit, and shop pants I’d wear to the airport instead.

EmRata Wore a $40 Zara Skort With the Boots on Every Editor’s Fall Wish List

    [ad_1]

Once you decide you love something, it’s psychologically proven that you’ll see it everywhere. It’s called the frequency illusion (kind of), and yes, it’s real. Since I, like so many of my fellow editors, am fully smitten with point-toe, knee-high boots, I’m not surprised that the exact style has become practically unavoidable in my everyday life, whether I’m working on a story or walking around the city. But even with all that exposure, I’m convinced the most recent time I spotted a pair was my chicest sighting yet.

For an especially autumnal day in NYC, Emily Ratajkowski debuted the perfect fall outfit, which included a brown moto jacket worn over a black bodysuit and combined with a khaki-colored $40 Zara micro skort and knife-sharp knee-high boots. To accent the outfit, she added a vintage Dior Saddle Bag, Fendi sunglasses, and a wide belt.

Taylor Swift Just Wore Her Most Jaw-Dropping “Naked” Dress to Date

    [ad_1]

Taylor Swift attended the Europe Music Awards in Germany over the weekend, and wow, she did not phone it in with her outfit for the occasion. Swift walked the red carpet and accepted multiple awards in the 2022 version of the naked dress trend: netted, crystal-embellished dresses. The trend was very recently worn by Emily Ratajkowski and Olivia Wilde, and Swift is just the latest in a string of high-profile celebrities to embrace the pretty, daring trend.

Swift’s dress was a custom David Koma creation, and featured a corset-bodysuit-esque bodice with a netted emerald skirt, and we’re pretty sure everyone’s jaws were dropped. You may recall that Swift also wore a crystal mini dress to the American VMAs a few months ago, which could also be considered a 2022-era “naked” dress. It just goes to show that she’s into the trend, just as many other celebs are.

  • Rihanna Just Wore Arguably the Most Controversial Skirt Style Of All

Rihanna Just Wore Arguably the Most Controversial Skirt Style Of All

    [ad_1]

Given how popular trends like naked dresses, visible thongs, and going, wellpantsless are these days, it’s growing more and more difficult to generate controversy when it comes to fashion. And yet, Rihanna just did exactly that by wearing the one trend I personally never thought would make a genuine comeback: High-low hemlines. Leave it to the Fenty founder, though, to make the throwback silhouette feel modern, and even more shocking, cool.

Out to celebrate A$AP Rocky’s whisky brand Mercer & Prince at The Fleur Room in Los Angeles, Rihanna paired a gloved, velvet bodysuit by Melitta Baumeister with a faux leather Rick Owens skirt fit with a high-low hemline and a train. With the daring duo, she added a Tom Ford for Gucci handbag, a Celine hoodie, and strappy heels that laced halfway up her legs. A far cry from the jewel-toned high-low dresses we wore to practically every high school dance in the early-2010s (or was that just me?), the look is singlehandedly paving the way for a comeback of the cut.

Even so, welcoming high-low hemlines back into our wardrobes after all this time won’t be easy. To ease back into the style, shop the more approachable asymmetric skirts below.

The Most Jaw-Dropping Baby2Baby Red Carpet Looks, Period

    [ad_1]

Though it’s rarely discussed on the same scale as other red-carpet events, the annual Baby2Baby Gala consistently supplies us with top-tier looks. And this year’s was no different. Held in West Hollywood on Saturday night, the 2022 Baby2Baby Gala brought together some of L.A.’s best-dressed moms (and more), from Olivia Wilde to Kylie Jenner, to help bring in necessary funds for the organization’s work, which involves providing children living in poverty with diapers, clothing, and other essentials. Altogether, an incredible $10 million was raised.

Given that this year’s honoree was Kim Kardashian, there was no way the night wouldn’t be full of fashion moments. To receive her Giving Tree Award and announce a $1 million donation to Baby2Baby, the SKIMS founder chose a Barbie pink, fitted Balenciaga dress with a long train (her specialty recently) from the brand’s spring/summer 2023 collection, pairing it with a matching mini bag from the brand as well as blade-like heels. Of course, she wasn’t the only one who didn’t come to play stylistically at the event. Keep scrolling to check out all of the best looks from this weekend’s gala.

Anne Hathaway’s Airport Outfit Includes the Pants Every Frequent Flyer Avoids

    [ad_1]

By now, everybody knows that jeans—especially rigid, non-stretch ones—are best kept in your carry-on when traveling as opposed to on your person. After all, sitting in tight jeans can be difficult enough without adding in a long plane ride. And yet, that didn’t stop Anne Hathaway from hopping on a flight to LAX last week in perhaps the stiffest possible style: cargo jeans.

For her trip back to Los Angeles, the Devil Wears Prada star (with the help of her stylist, Erin Walsh) paired a super-light-wash pair of cargo jeans from Isabel Marant with a lightweight pink sweater, a red blazer, and a patterned, silk scarf tied around her neck. With it, she added even more accessories that TSA no doubt made her take off, including black Bulgari sunglasses, a Gucci’s Attaché crossbody bag, and most impractical of all for a security line, a pair of white, knee-high boots.

Though ultimately a bit illogical for air travel, there’s no denying that Hathaway’s airport look was an even 10, no deductions. Shop it and more rigid jeans below.

Anna Wintour’s Airport Outfit Includes the Shoe Trend I’d Never Travel In

    [ad_1]

Anna Wintour is nothing if not consistent. Of course, you already know that she’s worn the same sunglasses and bob haircut for as long as she’s been EIC of Vogue—which is to say, a very long time. She also never wavers from her signature outfit formula: a printed midi or maxi dress with knee-high heeled boots. And as it turns out, this is true even when she’s traveling through JFK Airport in New York.

I’ve never worn heeled knee-high boots while traveling because I can imagine that taking them on and off at security would be quite a hassle—would the chic yet cumbersome shoes even fit properly in a bin? And you certainly won’t catch me wearing heels of any sort while traveling, as schlepping through airports is already an exhausting experience that would only be made worse by wearing anything remotely uncomfortable. Anna Wintour definitely looks just as chic as ever, but I personally would think twice before wearing her shoes at the airport.
