Tori Spelling Celebrates Being a ‘Badass’ After Dean McDermott Split

Tori Spelling refuses to let her drama with estranged husband Dean McDermott get her down.

“I believe in always looking forward and keeping your eye on the prize,” Spelling, 50, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, November 8. “But, this morning I took a pause for self-reflection. It’s important to look back once in a while and remind yourself how far you’ve come and what a badass you truly are.”

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum added “Strength” and “Live in the Moment” captions to her post.

Spelling’s social media upload featured a selfie of herself posing against a tree. The actress sported a white tank top and a nameplate necklace with her bicep tattoo on full display. Spelling’s ink reads, “Tout mon couer, tout ma vie.”

Spelling got the tattoo — which translates to “all my heart, all my life” from French — in 2016 as a matching piece of art with McDermott, now 56. The ink commemorated their 10th anniversary.

Since then, Spelling and McDermott’s relationship has gone through the wringer. McDermott, who wed Spelling in 2006, announced in June that the twosome had split after nearly two decades of marriage.

“It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own,” McDermott wrote via Instagram at the time. “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this.”

Spelling — who shares kids Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, with McDermott — did not address the actor’s statement. McDermott deleted the post several hours later and a source subsequently told Us that the duo did not plan to divorce.

Nearly four months later, breakup speculation grew rampant after McDermott was spotted holding hands with Lily Calo. A second insider told Us in October that the romance between McDermott — who also shares son Jack, 25, with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace — and Calo, 32, only began when he realized that “things were over with Tori.”

Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios’ Relationship Timeline

Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios are going strong after their relationship got off to a rocky start.

Before the pair went official, Berrios had been in a two-year relationship with Sophia Culpo, who implied that he cheated on her with Earle. The TikTok star and NFL player denied the rumors.

Earle later admitted that she expected her relationship with Berrios to be a fling because he was playing for the New York Jets when they met. One month later, he got traded to the Miami Dolphins, meaning the two would be living in the same city.

On a September 2023 podcast episode of “Hot Mess,” Earle opened up about the night she met Berrios. “As we’re standing around the bar, this guy comes up to me and he’s like, ‘Oh, you should really go talk to my friend over there,’ and he points to this guy. I’m like, ‘Yeah, OK, whatever,’” she said.

Later in the night, Earle explained, “I go right up to him, I shove my hand in his face and I say ‘You.’ He looks at me like I have six heads. And he’s like ‘What?’ And I go, ‘You wanted to meet me.’”

During her trip to Wyoming, she got a text from Berrios saying, “So you’re just gonna leave without saying bye to me?”

The duo later met up for a helicopter date around Miami.

Culpo addressed her breakup with Berrios during a Q&A Instagram Story. “The betrayal in my last relationship just really took a toll on me, but I have the most amazing support system,” she said, per Seventeen.

She continued, “I don’t wish what I went through on anybody … Us girls’ girls gotta stick together, and one day I will share all the lessons that I’ve learned.”

Berrios attended Earle’s graduation from the University of Miami with her friends and family.

After Earle shared a TikTok with Berrios from a Miami Heat basketball game, she confirmed the two hadn’t made their relationship official yet.

That same month, Culpo seemingly threw shade at Earle’s trip to the Hamptons with Berrios in a since-deleted TikTok video. “Can I talk my s–t again,” she mouthed, while captioning the video, “Me when the new supply catches on. Give it a few but call me when the love bombing ends. I gotchu #girlsgirl.”

Berrios denied Culpo’s claims that he cheated on her. “I don’t want to start anything, I don’t want to fuel anything. I genuinely want all this to be over and everyone to move on and do whatever makes them happy,” he said in an Instagram Story video.

He continued: “I was in a relationship for two years. It was a good relationship, it was a healthy one and towards the end of it we had conversations along the lines of ‘we weren’t working out.’ So, when we split back in January, that’s why.”

Berrios confirmed Earle was not the reason for their breakup, “It had nothing to do with anybody else, for that matter. And we just didn’t work out, and that’s OK.”

As part of the promotion for a new tour with 30 Seconds To Mars, Jared Leto has completed a long-time goal. He scaled a portion of the Empire State Building. Why? Well, he’ll tell you.

Leto spoke with The Today Show about how the experience was, explaining “I was more excited than nervous to tell you the truth. But I have to be honest, it was very, very hard. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Just the endurance that it took, the stamina that it took, and it was very sharp.” Can you believe it’s hard climbing the top of the Empire State Building?

Leto added:

It’s incredible. To watch the sun rise overlooking the city that’s meant so much to me. Ever since I was a kid, New York stood for the place that you went to make your dreams come true. And as a young kid, I wanted to be an artist, and New York was the place that you came to be an artist. And the Empire State Building was always that symbol for me.

Leto also got a surprise on the 80th floor: His mother looking at one of the windows at him.

Kel Mitchell Health Update Given in Statement Following Hospitalization

Actor Kel Mitchell took to social media Thursday morning to update fans following reports that he had been hospitalized, stating that he is recovering.

In an Instagram post made early on Thursday, Mitchell acknowledged that he had a “scare,” but that he was grateful for the support he received. While he didn’t elaborate on what happened, Mitchell said he was “now on the road to recovery” at his home.

“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” Mitchell said. “The scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”

Mitchell reportedly went to the hospital on Tuesday evening

News of Mitchell’s hospitalization first appeared late Wednesday evening, when TMZ reported that the actor was admitted into a hospital on Tuesday night. The report mentioned that Mitchell came in through the emergency room and that he was “conscious and alert” when he arrived. TMZ’s report didn’t mention what Mitchell arrived for.

Later this year, Mitchell is set to reprise his iconic role as Ed alongside Keenan Thompson for the upcoming Good Burger 2, a sequel to the original film.

K Michelle on Performing With ‘Brother’ Jelly Roll at 2023 CMA Awards

K Michelle is ready for her country closeup. The R&B artist and reality star (she appeared in several seasons of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta) is leaning into her Southern roots with a new album, a new name and a CMA Awards collaboration with the night’s Best New Artist winner Jelly Roll.

Under the alias Puddin, the Memphis native has released her first country song, “Tennessee.” It’s the debut single from her forthcoming country album — a move that feels totally natural to the star.

“It’s part of who I am,” the singer, 41, exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the 2023 CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 8. “It’s so crazy when I talk to people and they’re like, ‘How does this transition?’ There’s no transition, let’s be honest. This is who I am. This is how I was born. This is how I was raised.”

K Michelle (real name Kimberly Michelle Pate) made her Music City debut on country music’s largest stage on Wednesday night when she joined Jelly Roll for a stirring performance of The Judds’ “Love Can Build a Bridge.” It was a full-circle moment for the musician, who also performs the song alongside Jelly and the Fisk Jubilee Singers on the recently released album A Tribute to The Judds.

As for sharing the stage with Jelly Roll, that’s all in the musical family for K Michelle.

“That’s my outlaw brother. I understand him,” she shared. “We are unusual suspects in country music. I know his whole journey, his struggle. We’re open books. We prevail, we do what we want to do, but most importantly we love the music. The best thing is that we have a mutual respect for each other, and [this pairing] was a match made in heaven.”

The performance was a stunning tribute to musical matriarch Naomi Judd, who passed away in 2022. With a crowd that included Judd’s daughter and bandmate Wynonna in attendance, K Michelle joined Jelly Roll to belt her way through one of The Judds’ most memorable hits.

Taking the stage in feathers and rhinestones, it was easy to imagine the former R&B artist as every bit the country star. Her powerful ad-libs brought the crowd to its feet for a standing ovation before the performance had even ended. It was a moment filled with emotion for the performers and audience alike.

Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan poked fun at country music’s biggest stars — and couldn’t help but mention Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce — while hosting the 2023 CMA Awards.

“We’re back. You know what that means?” Manning, 47, asked his cohost, also 47, during their opening monologue on Wednesday, November 8. Bryan didn’t skip a beat, replying, “Yep, Travis and Taylor weren’t available.” (Swift, 33, and Kelce, 34, have been making headlines since they started seeing each other in September. The “Exile” singer has since become a fixture at the tight end’s Kansas City Chiefs games.)

Bryan and Manning, who cohosted the awards show for the first time in 2022, then made a joke about Swift’s star power — and one specific football team’s lack of efficiency.

“Luke, you know the difference between Taylor Swift and the New York Jets?” Manning pondered. “Uh, Taylor can sell out a stadium!” Bryan quipped.

The retired NFL quarterback applauded Bryan for nailing it, teasing, “I had you do that punchline Luke so I don’t get in trouble.”

Manning also brought his little brother, Eli Manning, into the discussion as he and Bryan commented on CMA Awards nominee Jelly Roll’s iconic face ink.

“Jelly Roll is so inspirational, he has my mom considering a face tattoo,” Bryan said, to which Peyton replied, “The Mannings are already way ahead of you pal. Eli got his already.” The former Indianapolis Colts player then showed a photo on stage of Eli, 42, with fake drawings all over his face.

The emcees concluded their opening monologue by singing together on stage. When Bryan started a song, he challenged his counterpart to finish it. Peyton trolled the singer when he claimed he couldn’t remember Bryan’s “One Margarita.”

Bryan revealed in October that he and Peyton easily secured the gig for a second time. “I think literally we were walking off the stage last year and the CMAs were already trying to get us to come on board one more time and sign up again,” he said during an appearance on Good Morning America.

The musician went on to tease the cohosts’ plans for landing laughs during the ceremony. “I think the main thing is just to be the master of ceremonies and let the music and the show and the artists speak for themselves,” Bryan explained. “Then, at some point, Peyton and I will have to try to come up with a couple funny jokes and poke a few people, but the bottom line is just be ourselves and really keep the people in the room engaged and the audience at home having fun and smiling.”

While Peyton and Bryan’s chemistry was evident at the 2022 awards show, they did not see eye to eye on how to approach their roles. “I think we both have our little things that we’re strong at and it’s fun to blend them together,” Bryan noted in a sneak peek published by Parade in October. “I am a little more loose, off the cuff, and Peyton wants a play in.”

Peyton then chimed in: “I spend most of my time kind of nudging him, ‘No, Luke, just read the teleprompter.’”

The pair’s monologue from the 2022 ceremony made headlines after Peyton referred to an awkward moment when Carrie Underwood gave Bryan side eye during his solo hosting venture the previous year. “Carrie Underwood and I have a lot in common,” Peyton told Bryan. “We both work with Brad Paisley, we’ve both been on Sunday Night Football a lot and we’re both very nervous about what Luke Bryan might say tonight.”

Bryan added at the time, “Hell, even I’m nervous about what Luke Bryan might say tonight.”

The joke made light of the fact that Underwood, 40, was spotted glaring at Bryan during the 2021 awards show after he poked fun at Aaron Rodgers’ anti-vaccination stance, which her husband, Mike Fisher, publicly supported.

“Whatever makes you country, you are welcome here tonight,” Bryan said at the time. “Rest assured, we’re following all the health protocols to keep everyone safe, and it is so great to be here with all my fellow artists — tested and together. Or immunized? Who is it? Just playing.”

Selling Sunset’s Cassandra Dawn Shades Bre Tiesi for Old Comment

Selling Sunset’s Cassandra Dawn shut down costar Bre Tiesi’s claims that she didn’t know her prior to filming the Netflix reality series.

Cassandra, 33 — who goes by Cassandra Repstad in her professional life — took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, November 7, to share a screenshot of a comment that Bre, 32, left on one of her photos two years ago.

“Ummmm ur stunning 😍 and that ring 💍😮🔥,” Bre commented on the October 2021 snap, which showed Cassandra posing with a martini and a diamond band on her ring finger. (Cassandra wed John Repstad in October 2021.)

Selling Sunset fans swarmed to the comments section of the old post on Tuesday to point out that Bre’s comment predated Cassandra joining the cast of Selling Sunset for season 7, which began filming earlier this year.

Upon her arrival for season 7 of Selling Sunset — which hit Netflix on Friday, November 3 — Cassandra claimed to know Bre from their modeling days. Bre, however, denied multiple times that she knew Cassandra personally. She claimed that Cassandra had followed her on Instagram for years and frequently commented on her posts.

The explosive moment led viewers to believe that something more happened between the duo when the cameras weren’t rolling. Bre has since claimed that that’s exactly what happened.

“They did not show the whole thing [nor] the big reason why I snapped,” she wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 4, in response to a fan asking her about the finale fight. “Let’s just say it was too disgusting to even air.”

Timbaland has apologised for saying Britney Spears needs a ‘muzzle’ – but why are men so scared of women speaking their truth?

Seeing as Britney had spoken out about ways that her body and mind were controlled by her father’s conservatorship, not to mention the toll a secret abortion had on her, it’s even more hurtful that words of physical restraint like “muzzle” were used. She fought hard enough to be free, and men who are supposed to support her are still talking about holding her back. It’s an example of a larger problem – men using misogynistic language to limit women’s power when it comes to their story, their bodies, their sexuality.

Since then, Timbaland has taken to TikTok to apologise for his words. “I’m sorry to all the Britney fans, even to her,” he said, calling attention to how inappropriate the word “muzzle” was. Obviously.

“I’m sorry, because muzzle was — no, you have a voice. You speak what you want to speak. Who am I to tell you what not to speak? And I was wrong for saying that. I was looking at it from a different lens and what I am is a reconcile person. I’m not a person who takes sides… I apologise to the Britney fans and her.”

In direct response to allegations of the sexism around his “muzzle” comment, Timbaland said: “And, uh, yes, you know, about respecting women, hell yeah.”

While we respect the public apology and all, it’s very disappointing and rather telling that it was necessary in the first place. Considering the fact that Britney’s memoir specifically describes her being institutionalised unneccessarily as a means of control, why would anyone see fit to use the word “crazy” to describe her? It’s infantilising, it’s insulting to her mental state – it’s demeaning to a woman who has fought for her mental and physical freedom.

Britney’s book was her opportunity to offer her side of the story when it came to her relationship with Justin Timberlake, after years of his narrative being used to further his career. The fact that a collaborator (of both Britney’s and Justin’s, we might add) chose to make disrespectful, misogynistic comments about limiting her freedom to speak proves how much further we have to go when it comes to empowering women to speak their truth about their relationships and bodies.

What we would like to see is men – inside and outside of the music industry – putting their “respect for women” into practice, and into their words. Calling out sexist and abusive behaviour, not contributing to it. Empowering survivors of abuse like Britney Spears, not tearing them down to further their own patriarchal agenda. Believing women, not suggesting they’re speaking out for money and fame.

While an apology is great and all, each of Timbaland’s words carry a lot of weight. Perhaps he should choose them more carefully next time.

Millie Bobby Brown just had the cutest moment with her future mother-in-law

As I was getting older, I started reading a variety of the things people were saying about me and felt that same feeling of rejection, like when I didn’t get an acting job. I felt alone in that feeling, like no one else knew what I was going through. The influence of social media and the press had a negative effect on my mental health and anxiety is still a huge battle I am dealing with today. Luckily with the love and support from my friends, animals and family, I feel strong enough to censor and protect my world. I do not feel alone anymore.

But with that, I am very aware of other child actors and young people simply living in today’s world with that same feeling of loneliness, rejection and insecurity. Social media is detrimental to the minds of my generation and the ones that come after. Mental health is not a taboo topic, it’s a necessary one. Talk to one another. Be kind to one another. Understand and empathise with another. Remember, we are human beings, and we are just being.

For eight years I wanted to sparkle, flourish and break out of the boxes everyone tried putting me in. I decided to be quiet when taking interviews and not say anything that could be twisted, because I was scared. But that fire and free spirit in me was bursting to come out.

And it didn’t take long for me to finally realise, I didn’t care. That who I was, was enough. That I could choose the kind of life I wanted to live and the world I wanted to live in.

Instead of talking about what I’m wearing, how much I weigh, who I’m friends with, or what restaurants I eat at, let’s talk about how the Lionesses played in the Women’s World Cup this year for England, or how Coco Gauff won the US Open.

Or how Brooke Shields released her documentary this year, and spoke out about her struggles of growing up in the spotlight.

I want to thank GLAMOUR for honouring me with this and holding this event so that women all over the world are acknowledged for their skills, abilities and achievements.

I share this award with young girls all over the world watching. If I can ask you to do anything, remember these rules:

Don’t let anyone box you in.

Don’t let yourself be rejected.

Don’t people please.

And as my Nanny Ruth told me frequently,

Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.

Harry Jowsey Dresses as Justin Timberlake on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Harry Jowsey channeled Justin Timberlake — frosted tips and all — during Dancing With the Stars’ Music Video Night.

Jowsey, 26, and his partner, Rylee Arnold, performed a jazz routine to ’NSync’s 2000 hit “It’s Gonna Be Me” during the Tuesday, November 7, episode.

Jowsey recreated Timberlake’s doll-like look from the song’s music video, in which the boy band members pretended to be action figures of themselves. He sported a curly blonde wig, an acid-wash denim jacket with matching jeans and airbrushed makeup that made him look like a doll.

“This was so much fun ❤️❤️❤️,” Jowsey commented via Instagram photos of the routine shared via Dancing With the Stars’ official account.

Although Jowsey was styled like Timberlake, 42, it was another member of ’NSync who gave him a pep talk before the show: Lance Bass.

“You need to get out of your head and just perform,” Bass, 44, told Jowsey during rehearsal. The visit boosted Jowsey’s confidence. “If I could just take Lance’s advice, … I know the best dance of the night: it’s gonna be me,” the Too Hot to Handle alum told cameras.

Despite getting a visit from Bass himself, Jowsey failed to wow the judges and earned the lowest score of the night: a 24. The crowd booed Carrie Ann Inaba as she told Jowsey that his backup dancers had upstaged him. “Once the boys were no longer in front of you, it was not as good,” Inaba, 55, said.

Jowsey redeemed himself during the group dance-off later in the night. He kept his blonde wig on while performing “Gangnam Style” by PSY alongside Arnold, 18, Lele Pons, Brandon Armstrong, Xochitl Gomez, Val Chmerkovskiy, Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev.

Noting that he’d “figured out” Jowsey’s strength, Derek, 38 said, “You’re not a soloist, you’re a team player.” Jowsey’s team received a perfect score of 40 from the judges while the opposing team received a 37.

Despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard, Jowsey and Arnold were saved by viewers’ votes while Pons, 27, and Armstrong, 29, were eliminated.

Arnold’s nod to the “SexyBack” singer comes as other blasts from Timberlake’s past have recently made headlines. Britney Spears’ new memoir, The Woman in Me, which hit shelves last month, featured several bombshells about her relationship with Timberlake, whom she dated from 1999 to 2002.

In the tell-all, Spears, 41, accused Timberlake of cheating on her “a couple of times,” claimed he ended their three-year relationship via text message and alleged that Timberlake attempted to comfort her after she had an abortion by playing guitar for her.

Shortly thereafter, he was seen vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with his family, including wife Jessica Biel. A source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that the trip “had nothing to do with Britney’s memoir” and had been planned months prior.

“[Justin] is supportive of Britney’s decision to put her truth out there,” the insider added.

Bass, meanwhile, has stood by his bandmate’s side amid the drama. “I mean, everyone has their own opinion. I just feel like the world is so full of hate right now that we need to practice a little forgiveness,” he told TMZ in October. “Britney did, so let’s take a note from her.”

Lori Harvey and boyfriend Damon Idris have called it quits after less than one year of dating.

“We are at a point in our lives where our individual paths require our full attention and dedication,” the pair noted in a joint statement to Us Weekly. “We part ways remaining friends with nothing but love and respect for each other and the time we shared together.”

Harvey, 26, and Idris, 32, sparked split speculation earlier this week when fans realized they unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted all of their photos of each other. The duo were also spotted arriving — and leaving — Odell Beckham Jr’s 90’s-themed 31st birthday celebration separately on Monday, November 6, a source exclusively told Us Weekly.

James Brolin Was Celibate 3 Years Before Marrying Barbra Streisand

Following his second marriage, James Brolin was committed to being abstinent — but that changed after his and wife Barbra Streisand’s 1998 wedding.

“I had been, literally it’s a wild word, but I had been celibate for three years, saying, ‘Who needs this,’” Brolin, 83, recalled during an interview with CBS Mornings’ Gayle King, which aired on Monday, November 6.

Streisand, 81, scolded her husband over the confession by slapping his knee during the joint discussion. “You’re not supposed to tell that,” she said.

Brolin was also married to Jane Cameron Agee from 1966 to 1984. He shares sons Josh and Jess Brolin with Agee, who died in 1995.

“I had not had any interest in getting involved in a lousy situation,” James explained to King, to which she replied, “After three years, that must have been a hell of a night then?” He let out a laugh, calling his and Streisand’s wedding night “wild.”

The couple, who celebrated 25 years of marriage in July, also shared James’ handwritten letter for the occasion with viewers. In the note, the Life in Pieces alum revealed that he proposed to the “Memory” singer three times before she agreed.

“I don’t know, I have to try them out first — for at least two years,” Streisand quipped when asked why she didn’t immediately say “yes” to an engagement. The Grammy winner appeared to be referring to her first marriage to Elliot Gould from 1963 to 1971. The exes share one son, Jason Gould.

Congrats to the Hottest Couple Ever

I love love. I love inane celebrity news. I love Channing Tatum’s buzzcut. So imagine my absolute glee when Zoe Kravitz and Channing Tatum — the hottest duo ever and blueprint to every couple in Bushwick — revealed their engagement.

Prince Harry Was Not Invited to King Charles III’s Birthday Celebration

Prince Harry will not be in attendance for King Charles III’s upcoming birthday celebration.

“In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday,” Harry’s spokesperson tells Us Weekly.

A source initially told Us on Monday, November 6, that Harry, 39, declined the invitation to the royal event. Charles, 74, will be holding a celebration with his friends and family at Clarence House in London for his 75th birthday on November 14.

Harry recently flew overseas from California, where he lives with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, for a handful of big events. In September, the Sussexes showed their support at the 2023 Invictus Games — which Harry founded in 2014 — in Germany. On the way there, Harry made a brief stop in the U.K. to attend the 2023 WellChild Awards. During his brief stay, Harry paid his respects to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II at St. George’s Chapel while marking the first anniversary of her death. (Elizabeth died in September 2022 at age 96.)

“Everybody knows how close Harry and the queen had always been so visiting [her burial site] and being able to pay his respects meant the world to him,” a source exclusively told Us at the time. “Although Harry is living in the States now, the U.K. will always feel like home to him, so it felt very special that he was able to attend.”

The entire Kelce family — including Travis — appeared at the annual Eagles Autism Challenge, which raises money for the Eagles Autism Foundation. Kylie is closely involved with the foundation and was inspired by a childhood neighbor who has autism.

Harrison, 52, and Zima, 35, said “I do” at a wedding ceremony in Napa Valley, California, on October 14, and celebrated with a big reception in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, November 4, People reports.

The Bachelor Nation alum confirmed he and the Entertainment Tonight personality were engaged via Instagram in October 2021. “I love you @laurenzima,” Harrison wrote alongside a photo of himself popping the question. “The next chapter starts now!”

Us Weekly confirmed in January 2021 that the Poosh founder was in a relationship with the Blink-182 drummer, whom she had been friends with for years before things turned romantic. “Travis is very smitten with Kourtney and has been for a while,” a source exclusively revealed at the time.

While her romance with Barker blossomed, Kardashian’s coparenting relationship with Disick grew more tense. She addressed where she stood with the father of her eldest three children during a May 2022 episode of The Kardashians, telling her family that she “has sympathy” for her ex.

Matthew Perry Laid to Rest at Private Funeral: Report

Matthew Perry was laid to rest at a private funeral on Friday, November, 3, according to multiple outlets. The service was reportedly held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Hills neighborhood, near the Warner Bros. Studios lot where Friends was filmed.

Perry’s former castmates Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were reportedly in attendance, per TMZ, along with Perry’s mother, Suzanne Morrison, his father, John Bennett Perry, and his stepfather, Keith Morrison.

The funeral comes nearly one week after Matthew’s sudden death at the age of 54 on Saturday, October 28. The actor was found “unconscious in a stand-alone jacuzzi” by law enforcement officials in his Pacific Palisades home, with a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department on Monday, October 30, confirming that he had been “deceased prior to the first responder arrival.” His official cause of death has yet to be confirmed pending a toxicology report.

It was announced earlier on Friday that Matthew’s legacy will live on through the Matthew Perry Foundation, which will help those “struggling with the disease of addiction.” The charity is already up and running and is accepting donations, and will be “guided by his own words and experiences and driven by his passion for making a difference in as many lives as possible.”

Thoughout his life, Matthew didn’t shy away from discussing his own addiction issues, which he detailed in his 2022 memoir, Friends Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. However, Matthew — who portrayed the witty Chandler Bing on Friends for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 — was vocal about wanting to be remembered for more than his role on the hit sitcom.

Matthew Perry never shied away from opening up about his struggles after rising to stardom for his role as Chandler Bing in Friends. “When [fame] happens, it’s kind of like Disneyland for a while. “When I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people,” he said on a November 2022 episode of the “Q with Tom Power” podcast. “I know it won’t happen, but it would be nice.”

He continued: “The best thing about me, bar none, is that if an alcoholic or drug addict comes up to me and says, ‘Will you help me?’ I can say yes and follow up and do it. When I die, I don’t want Friends to be the first thing that’s mentioned. I want that to be the first thing that’s mentioned, and I’m going to live the rest of my life proving that.”

It’s a brother dying.”
