  • Emma Heming Shares Holiday Reality Amid Bruce Willis’ Dementia

Emma Heming Willis is sharing an insight into what holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas now look like as her husband Bruce Willis continues to grapple with dementia.

Speaking to People in an article published on  Thursday, November 27, Heming Willis, 47, put a positive spin on how she and her family spend the holidays following the Die Hard star’s diagnosis.

“Bruce loved Christmas and we love celebrating it with him. It just looks different, so we’ve kind of adapted to that,” she told the outlet at the End Well 2025 conference in Los Angeles, which took place last week.

The model added, “You have to learn and adapt and make new memories, bring in the same traditions that you had before.”

She continued, “Life goes on. It just goes on. Dementia is hard, but there is still joy in it. I think it’s important that we don’t paint such a negative picture around dementia. We are still laughing. There is still joy. It just looks different.”

Emma Heming Willis has been open about the ups and downs of supporting her husband, Bruce Willis, on his health journey following his diagnosis with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. “This was the summer of self-discovery — finding new hobbies, going out of my comfort zone and staying active,” Heming Willis wrote via Instagram in August […]

Bruce’s family revealed he was first diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder in March 2022. The following year, they announced his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, a progressive brain disease that impacts communication, behavior and mobility.

Last week, Bruce’s daughter Rumer, 37, shared an update on her dad’s health via her Instagram. (Bruce shares Rumer with ex-wife Demi Moore, along with daughters Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31. Bruce and Emma also share daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.)

A fan had asked Rumer how her dad was doing via an Instagram Q&A, prompting her response.

“People always ask me this question and I think it’s kind of a hard one to answer because the truth is that anybody with FTD is not doing great,” Rumer replied. “But he’s doing OK in terms of somebody who’s dealing with frontotemporal dementia, you know what I mean?”

“The answer that I would give is I’m so happy and grateful that I still get to go and hug him,” she added. “I’m so grateful that when I go over there, and I give him a hug, whether he recognizes me or not, that he can feel the love I’ve given him and I can feel it back from him. That I still see a spark of him, and he can feel the love that I’m giving.”

Heming Willis previously shared that Bruce had been moved to a second home with a round-the-clock care team as his health condition advanced.

“It was one of the hardest decisions that I’ve had to make so far,” Heming Willis revealed during  an ABC special titled Emma and Bruce Willis: The Unexpected Journey – A Diane Sawyer Special, which aired in August.

She added, “But I knew, first and foremost, Bruce would want that for our daughters. You know, he would want them to be in a home that was more tailored to their needs, not his needs.”

In her memoir, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path, which was released in September, Heming Willis shared how the second home had helped.

“One benefit to getting help, whether you bring it into your home or have your person move to a community-based setting, is the ability to get back to your original role in your person’s life,” Heming Willis wrote.

Heming Willis admitted it “took me some time to see it that way and reframe it rather than sitting in the guilt,” adding that she can now “truly enjoy our fleeting time together, and there’s nothing I could ever do to repay our care team for that.”

She added that she is “forever grateful that I get to enjoy Bruce again as his wife and that our kids have their mom back.”

  • Katherine Schwarzenegger Commends Tatiana Schlossberg’s Terminal Cancer Essay

Katherine Schwarzenegger publicly supported her cousin Tatiana Schlossberg after she revealed her terminal cancer diagnosis.

Schwarzenegger, 35, took to Instagram on Sunday, November 23, to share several screenshots of the essay Schlossberg penned for The New Yorker which was published one day prior and detailed her battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

“This is a profound piece written by my extraordinary cousin, Tatiana. It’s been shared by many and should be read by all. I have only tears and anger reading that this is her reality. She has lived this experience with so much grace and I am in awe of her as a human, mother, wife, daughter, writer and fighter,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “I am and continue to be grateful for all the doctors and nurses helping her and encourage you to read her words about how the state of the country, the cuts and uncertainty, impacts and terrifies those in medicine and receiving treatment like Tatiana has been over the past year and a half, and continues to receive. Praying for and loving her and her family.”

The post comes after Schwarzenegger’s mother, Maria Shriver, publicly supported Schlossberg via her own Instagram tribute.

Shriver, who is a niece of the late U.S. president John F. Kennedy, shared similar praise for Schlossberg within her online own tribute. “If you can only read one thing today, please make take the time for this extraordinary piece of writing by my cousin Caroline’s extraordinary daughter Tatiana,” Shriver, 70, wrote. “Tatiana is a beautiful writer, journalist, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. This piece is about what she has been going through for the last year and a half. It’s an ode to all the doctors and nurses who toil on the frontlines of humanity. It’s so many things, but best to read it yourself, and be blown away by one woman’s life story.”

Shriver continued, “Let it be a reminder to be grateful for the life you are living today, right now, this very minute.”

In Schlossberg’s essay, she noted that her doctor had noticed an imbalance in her white blood cell count, however initially put it down to labor and delivery complications. Further investigation later determined that she in fact has “a rare mutation called Inversion 3.”

  • David Cameron Goes Public With Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Former U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

During an interview with The Times, published on Sunday, November 23, Cameron, 59, revealed details into the diagnosis which was presented after testing prompted by his wife, Samantha Cameron, earlier this year.

He told the outlet, “You always hope for the best. You have a high PSA score — that’s probably nothing. You have an MRI scan with a few black marks on it. You think, ‘Ah, that’s probably OK.’ But when the biopsy comes back, and it says you have got prostate cancer … you always dread hearing those words. Literally as they’re coming out of the doctor’s mouth, you’re thinking, ‘Oh, no, he’s going to say it. He’s going to say it. Oh God, he said it.’” (A PSA test involves taking a blood sample to screen for prostate cancer, according to Mayo Clinic.)

David, who served as Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016, also noted that he has received focal therapy to treat the cancer. Cleveland Clinic details this localized therapy as a “type of treatment that uses various types of energy (like heat or cold) to destroy cancer cells.”

He told the outlet that his decision to go public with the diagnosis was deeply considered. “I want to, as it were, come out. I want to add my name to the long list of people calling for a targeted screening [program],” David explained. “I don’t particularly like discussing my personal intimate health issues, but I feel I ought to. Let’s be honest. Men are not very good at talking about their health. We tend to put things off.”

David also noted, “I’ve got a platform. This is something we’ve really got to think about, talk about, and if necessary, act on.”

David and Samantha, 54, have welcomed four children together. Their firstborn son, Ivan, suffered from Ohtahara syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy that occurs in infants, according to the Child Neurology Foundation, and died at the age of 6.

I had just become an MP [when Ivan was born]. I remember turning up for debates in the House of Commons completely exhausted because I’ve been in St Mary’s Paddington [hospital] all night.”

He then reflected on the light his family managed to find while navigating his late son’s illness. “I remember this great blessing of having your first child. In spite of all the difficulties he had with the seizures and cerebral palsy and everything – you still remember this beautiful, smiling boy that you would rest on your lap and look after and love,” he told the outlet. “The extraordinary thing about grief is to start with, there’s nothing but black clouds. But after a while, happy memories do break through.”

  • Tatiana Schlossberg Calls Out Cousin RFK Jr While Announcing Her Cancer

Tatiana Schlossberg condemned her cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for his vaccine skepticism while announcing her terminal cancer diagnosis.

The environmental reporter, 35, shared the heartbreaking news in a New Yorker essay on Saturday, November 22, that she’d been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and had been given one year to live by her doctors.

Schlossberg was initially diagnosed after giving birth to her daughter — whose name she has kept private — in May 2024. (Schlossberg and her husband, George Moran, also share a son, Edwin, 3.) She spent several weeks in New York City’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital to undergo a bone marrow transplant and later received at-home chemotherapy treatments.

Schlossberg explained in her essay that her diagnosis coincided with her cousin RFK Jr., 71, suspending his independent presidential bid and endorsing Donald Trump in 2024. The vaccine skeptic eventually accepted a position in the Trump administration as the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s turbulent year continues, his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, has stayed quiet. Kennedy, 70, dropped out of the presidential race in late August, choosing to back former President Donald Trump. A few weeks later, news broke of a personal relationship between him and New York Magazine political reporter Olivia Nuzzi. A […]

“In August, 2024, he suspended his campaign and endorsed Donald Trump, who said that he was going to ‘let Bobby go wild’ on health,” Schlossberg wrote in the New Yorker. “My mother wrote a letter to the Senate, to try and stop his confirmation; my brother had been speaking out against his lies for months. I watched from my hospital bed as Bobby, in the face of logic and common sense, was confirmed for the position, despite never having worked in medicine, public health, or the government.”

The journalist recalled feeling like the entire health scare system was “strained [and] shaky” at the exact moment she was reliant on round-the-clock care.

Schlossberg reflected on the additional stress of her husband, George, working as a doctor at Columbia University. (The Trump administration withdrew $400 million in grants to Columbia University in March 2025 over complaints about its response to pro-Palestinian protests on campus. A deal was later reached to restore some of the funding.)

“Columbia was one of the Trump Administration’s first targets in its crusade against alleged antisemitism on campuses; in May, the university laid off a hundred and eighty researchers after federal-funding cuts,” she wrote. “If George changed jobs, we didn’t know if we’d be able to get insurance, now that I had a preëxisting condition. Bobby is a known skeptic of vaccines, and I was especially concerned that I wouldn’t be able to get mine again, leaving me to spend the rest of my life immunocompromised, along with millions of cancer survivors, small children, and the elderly.”

Schlossberg also called out her relative for his controversial remarks on the “Lex Fridman Podcast” in 2023 that “there’s no vaccine that is safe and effective.” (Kennedy later downplayed those comments by insisting he’s “pro safety” rather than “anti-vaccine.”)

“Bobby probably doesn’t remember the millions of people who were paralyzed or killed by polio before the vaccine was available,” she added. “My dad, who grew up in New York City in the 1940s and ‘50s, does remember. Recently, I asked him what it was like when he got the vaccine. He said that it felt like freedom.”

Elsewhere in her poignant New Yorker essay, Schlossberg acknowledged her utter shock at being diagnosed with cancer at nine months pregnant.

“I did not — could not — believe that they were talking about me. I had swum a mile in the pool the day before, nine months pregnant. I wasn’t sick. I didn’t feel sick. I was actually one of the healthiest people I knew,” Tatiana wrote in The New Yorker. “I had a son whom I loved more than anything and a newborn I needed to take care of.”

Schlossberg is far from the first member of the Kennedy family to come out against RFK Jr. Five Kennedy family members— Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Courtney Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Chris Kennedy and Rory Kennedy — released a joint statement denouncing their brother when he endorsed Trump in August 2024.

“We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise and national pride,” they said.

Their letter continued “Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story.”

During an interview on CNN, Robert argued that political differences within his family were no different to those faced by millions of Americans.

“I have a big family,” he said. “I don’t know anyone in America who’s got a family who agrees with them on everything.”

Following Robert’s nomination to the HHS department in early 2025, Tatiana’s mother Caroline Kennedy criticized the nomination because her cousin lacked “any relevant, government, financial, management or medical experience.”

“His views on vaccines are dangerous and wilfully misinformed,” Caroline added.

Tatiana’s younger brother, Jack Schlossberg, even trolled Robert’s wife, Cheryl Hines, in July 2025.

“I have never met Cheryl Hines, but if I did, I’d tell her she looks super dehydrated,” Schlossberg, 32, quipped via X on July 23.

Earlier this month, Jack announced plans to run for Congress in New York’s 12th congressional district in the 2026 midterm elections.

“I’m not running because I have all the answers to our problems. I’m running because the people of New York 12 do. I want to listen to your struggles, hear your stories, amplify your voice, go to Washington and execute on your behalf,” he wrote via Instagram.

Jack continued, “There is nowhere I’d rather be than in the arena fighting for my hometown. Over the next eight months, during the course of this campaign, I hope to meet as many of you as I can. If you see me on the street, please say hello. If I knock on your door, I hope we can have a conversation. Because politics should be personal.”

“I remember literally looking at Forbes 30 under 30, crying when I was so unhappy with my job … when I was an assistant,” she said. She remembered thinking she would just “die” to have that accomplishment under her belt, telling Tartick, “I thought maybe one day, imagine I was in there as, like, a head of PR for something.”

What worked for Bader was connecting with others through TikTok by just being herself. Tartick, 37, pointed out that it’s “pretty cool” she built a career in the creator space by capitalizing on what made her different from other people, something that Bader also agreed with.

“And I agree with that because I always did feel, like, even more than my friends and stuff like I always felt a little bit bigger, like curvy or different,” she affirmed. “And I actually always … I wasn’t upset about that. I actually was like, ‘I’m special in a way.’”

Bader also detailed her financial success since finding her social media niche. She shared that she went from making $60,000 a year with Tidal before suddenly bringing in nearly one million dollars in 2021.

“I think throughout that year it started getting bigger and bigger,” she said. “I didn’t have a business manager at the time. I did sign with UTA, so that’s 10 percent I’m giving to them of every deal.” After that, she signed with a lawyer, who took another 5 percent of her income.

  • Inside Pete Sampras’ home life and the personal challenges he’s faced

Pete Sampras is regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, with 14 Grand Slam titles to his name, including seven at Wimbledon, five at the US Open, and two at the Australian Open throughout his 15-year career. But beyond the trophies and screaming fans, Pete has faced some incredibly tough battles, from the loss of his coach to his wife’s devastating diagnosis. Join HELLO! as we learn all about Pete’s quiet home life with his loving family, and the challenges he overcame to become a tennis god.

    Love match

As soon as Pete laid eyes on Bridgette Wilson in the 1999 comedy Love Stinks, he knew that she was the one. At the time, Pete was recovering from a leg injury that he had sustained at the RCA Championships in Indianapolis. “There was a bright spot to that otherwise terrible late summer – my injury was directly responsible for my wife and me meeting,” he wrote in his 2008 memoir A Champion’s Mind.

“While I was hurt, I was watching this movie, Love Stinks, with a friend, John Black. Bridgette Wilson, an actress in the film, caught my eye. Actually, she blew me away when I saw her. I thought she was stunning.” He then asked John, who was the LA Lakers Vice President of Public Relations at the time, to reach out to her on his behalf. While their first date had its awkward moments, the duo eventually hit it off and wed in 2000 after nine months of dating.

    Family first

The tennis great and the Hollywood star welcomed their eldest son, Christian, in November 2002, and their youngest, Ryan, in July 2005. Bridgette revealed to People that her parenting style greatly differed from that of her husband. “We had to give each other permission to be different as parents,” she told the publication. “That’s why there’s a mom and dad with two different approaches because you do need both.”

The duo both decided to retire in the ’00s despite their relatively young ages and soaring careers, in order to be present in their sons’ lives. “For now, I want to be there when [the boys] wake up, and I want to be there to put them in bed,” Bridgette said. Pete later explained to The New York Times that retiring was the right choice for himself and his family.

“I’m in complete control of what I want to do in my life and that’s a great place to be at 39 years old…I knew when I was retired I could pick and choose what I wanted to do,” he said. “So it really is a nice place to be in life. I can spend a ton of time with my kids, take them out to the park during the week, and most guys are working eight to six.”

    Bridgette’s battle

The family of four was struck by tragedy when Pete revealed in 2023 that Bridgette had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer a year prior. The former athlete shared the news via ATP Tour on X. “As most have come to know, I am a pretty quiet and private person. However, this past year has been an exceptionally challenging time for my family, and I have decided to share what’s been going on,” he began.

“Last December, my wife, Bridgette, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Since then, she has had major surgery, pushed through chemotherapy and continues with targeted maintenance therapy. It is hard to watch someone you love go through a challenge like this,” he continued. “However, seeing our boys step up and be such strong supporters of Bridgette, myself and each other has been amazing. Watching Bridgette continue to be an incredible mom and wife through it all has been inspiring.”

“I have also learned that it is very hard to reach for support when something is simply too hard to talk about. With that said, I will end this by humbly asking for good thoughts and prayers for our family as Bridgette continues to thrive on her healing journey. Thank you,” he concluded.

    Breaking point

Pete overcame a major challenge at the height of his career when his longtime coach, Tim Gullikson, was shockingly diagnosed with brain cancer. One of the tennis legend’s most vulnerable moments came during the quarterfinal against Jim Courier at the Australian Open in 1995, when he began to cry and took a moment to collect himself on the sidelines. The star’s coach had collapsed in the locker room ahead of the tournament and subsequently learned of his diagnosis, before he was flown back to the US.

“I think people understand that I’m normal, I have feelings like everyone else,” he later told the LA Times of the emotional moment. “I’m not a robot out there. I’m as normal as the guy across the street, and I think that’s what people have to realize: when they see tennis players, we’re not above everyone; we do the same things everyone else does.” Tim passed away a year later.

  • James Van Der Beek Shares Parenting Struggles During Cancer

James Van Der Beek revealed his biggest parenting regret amid his cancer battle as she shared a new reflective social media post.

The actor celebrated his son Jeremiah in a tribute post uploaded via Instagram on Friday, October 10 to mark the child’s 4th birthday, while apologizing for not being a better father amid his health struggles.

“4 years old today. After 2 late-term losses, we thought we were done. Thank God you knew better,” James, 48, wrote alongside a carousel of photos of Jeremiah, including one where the child was perched atop the actor’s shoulders.

James paid tribute to Jeremiah’s lively personality in the heartfelt post.

“An iron will combined with an innate sweetness. And ALL boy. And as you run around and scream and bang things… all I can think about is how grateful I am that you came to us,” he wrote. “You’ve been particular from the jump. And as your language skills have finally caught up the specificity of your desires, what I’m seeing is a fun-loving, passionate soul who doesn’t think twice about speaking up for exactly what he wants. And for that example, I thank you.”

Continuing the post, the Dawson’s Creek alum then shared that he felt he hasn’t lived up to the standard of father that he believed his son deserved.

“I’m sorry there have been spells where I couldn’t be the father I would want to be for you… where I was too weak to pick you up, throw you around, or even put you to bed… but know that watching you reveal yourself to us has been one of the greatest joys of my life,” he added. “And even though you’re stingy with the hugs… when you do decide to wrap those thick little arms around my neck, it’s like time has stood still and all is right with the world.”

James concluded, “I love you, bubba. And I always will. And all you ever have to do is be you. Happy birthday, my ‘big little boy.’ ❤️”

Katie Holmes, who costarred alongside James in Dawson’s Creek in the 90s, reacted in the comments.

“Sooooooo sweet!!!!!!!” the actress, 46, wrote.

Jeremiah is the youngest of six kids who James shares with his wife Kimberly. The couple also share Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 11, Emilia, 8 and Gwendolyn, 6. James and Kimberly have also been open in the past about suffering pregnancy losses in November 2019 and June 2020, which James referenced in the post.

“I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” he told People at the time, adding, “There’s reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good.”

In a video interview for the outlet, James touched on the effect his diagnosis has had on his kids.

“My kids have been so supportive and so loving and so tender,” he said. “And you hate to watch them have to grow up in that way but you watch them really put you first, which, as a father, is, like, heartwarming and also devastating.”

  • Meet the Putmans Stars Share Family Update After Fatal Car Accident

The Putman family is sharing an update on their injured relatives after several family members were involved in a fatal car accident.

“We wanted to share an update and continue asking for prayers for Noah, Gia and our entire family,” a statement shared via the family’s Growing Up Putmans Instagram account read on Wednesday, October 8. “We can truly feel the power of your prayers and God’s presence through every up and down. Please continue to keep the faith and keep praying for Noah, Gia and our family as we walk this long road of healing.”

In the latest update, the family confirmed Gia, 11, is still hospitalized following a tragic car accident on September 26.

The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan previously confirmed via a statement that a two-vehicle crash occurred after a commercial semi truck failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, the truck collided with a Jeep that was carrying eight residents of nearby Cass City.

The Putman family members have been making a name for themselves since starring on TLC’s Meet the Putmans in 2017. The reality series followed the Putman family — Bill Putman and Barbara Putman, their four children, Billy Putman, Brandon Putman, Blake Putman and Blair Putman, their respective spouses and, at the time, 15 grandchildren — […]

The Putman family confirmed that Bill “Papa” Putman, his wife, Barb “Neenee” Putman, and their daughter-in-law, Megan Putman, were killed in the crash. Other family members were hospitalized with various injuries.

“Gia had a rough night, no one got much sleep. Her ICP and blood pressure were high and unstable for awhile, but praise God, the doctors were able to get things under control,” the family said on Wednesday. “She’s doing better now, and they’re focusing on keeping her stable and taking it one day at a time. They were also able to remove her chest tube today, which is such a blessing and another step forward.”

Blake, 37, Lulu, 13, and Alena, 11, are “still recovering,” but the family said they have been discharged “and are doing well.”

Another family member making progress is Blake and Megan’s 15-year-old son, Noah.

“Noah is doing well in rehab and continuing to amaze us. He’s been sleeping better, talking, eating and moving around more each day,” the statement read. “In occupational therapy today, he was walking back and forth and even bouncing a ball on the floor! His biggest area of recovery right now is cognitive therapy, but we know God is working and healing him in His perfect timing.”

Meet the Putmans aired on TLC for one season in 2017, introducing the country to the family of 25 as they navigated the ups and downs of all living together.

Although its TV run was short-lived, the family tried to reboot the series in 2021 via YouTube. The last episode of Growing Up Putman appeared to be posted in January 2025.

As the Putman family tries to move forward following the fatal accident, the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office announced on September 29 that Pavel B Shchukin, who was allegedly driving the commercial truck that struck the Putman family, has been charged with eight counts in connection with the accident.

  • Kate Gosselin Details Brutal Recovery After ‘Life-Altering’ Injury

Kate Gosselin has a long road ahead after suffering a “life-altering leg injury,” sharing an update with fans about her recovery journey after being discharged from the hospital.

The former reality TV star, 50, reflected on her stay in a new TikTok video posted on Friday, October 3, revealing that she was told by a surgeon on the morning of her procedure that she would need an “Open Reduction Internal Fixation [an ORIF]” which meant a “plate down my shin bone, a huge metal plate, and then there’s three screws … to screw my tibia back together.”

Gosselin was hurt during a freak accident while she and her rumored boyfriend, Steve Neild, were playing fetch with her German shepherd Meika, she revealed in a September 30 TikTok post, causing her to endure a tibial plateau fracture.

In her update, the mom of eight — who shares twins Mady and Cara, 24, as well as sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel, 21, with ex-husband Jon Gosselin — noted that she had to undergo surgery for the “first time in my life alone.”

    Courtesy of Kate Gosselin/Instagram

“It was very scary,” she continued. After the procedure, Kate was informed that her bones were “soft” for her age which came as a surprise since she takes every vitamin “under the sun” — except for Calcium, noting that she will begin incorporating that more now that she is aware.

Kate said she was told she should’ve had a “decent” injury from that type of collision, but it shouldn’t have been “catastrophic.”

The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star described the pain and swelling she had been experiencing as “unbelievable,” sharing that she has at least three months ahead of recovery.

Upon her discharge, Kate told fans she was happy to be on the mend, despite needing extra care. The TLC alum noted that it was a bit “overwhelming” due to the instructions she was given, all while learning the medications she must take and the appointments she still has to make.

“I just wanted to give you a quick update that my first night at home was amazing, and it’s all sinking in how helpless I am,” she said in a separate TikTok. “It’s making me think back to over what 21 years ago, when I was on bed rest.”

Kate also reflected on the moment Meika collided into her, noting she saw the dog “running towards me at the speed of light.”

She added, “I remember thinking, ‘I only have a second to get out of the way.’ I went to step and I miscalculated and I stepped the wrong way into her path and she slammed the side of her body full force into my leg.”

“I will never forget the power of that impact,” Kate continued. “It made a thud sound — not a breaking bone sound, a thud sound. And I just froze and crumpled.”

After going public with her story, she asked critics to be compassionate, noting that she is brushing off the cruel remarks. Kate said, “Whatever, I just know you don’t know what I’m going through and that’s fine too but we should all keep our mean comments to ourselves.”

  • Bunnie Xo Addresses Jelly Roll Weight Loss and Fans’ Reactions

Bunnie Xo reacted to fans saying her husband, Jelly Roll, has gotten “so hot” since he lost more than 200 pounds.

“[People say], ‘Girl, your man is so hot now that he’s lost all that weight,’” the influencer, 45, began in a TikTok video on Saturday, September 27. “Is he? Because he’s always had the same face. He’s always had the same heart. He’s always had the same soul.”

She went on, “I think the most appropriate thing here to say is that he looks so much healthier now that he has lost weight.”

Bunnie Xo (real name Alyssa DeFord) encouraged her followers to “stop living in a Shallow Hall world,” referencing the 2001 movie starring Jack Black as a sexist man who was put under a spell to only see women’s inner-beauty.

“You know what? You might miss out on the best love of your life by judging somebody by their weight,” she concluded.

In an August TikTok video, Bunnie Xo supported her husband by playfully body-slamming the musician (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) against a wall to test out his weight loss.

“When you have to check and make sure he’s still your squish after all the weight loss,” Bunnie wrote over the clip and added the sweet caption, “Bestie #jellyandbunnie.”

Jelly Roll, 40, addressed his weight loss journey in April, revealing that he’d “started at 540 pounds” and was at “357 pounds [as of] this morning.”

“I’m gonna lose another 100 pounds,” he told host Pat McAfee during the Big Night AHT live show.

He previously told People in April 2024 that his fitness regiment included walking “three miles a day, four to six days a week,” plus “20 to 30 minutes in the sauna” and “6 minutes in the cold plunge.”

“If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I’m going to feel like by the time I go on tour,” he said at the time.

Meanwhile, Bunnie Xo opened up on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast in August about why she hasn’t made many public appearances with her husband recently.

“Someone said the other day, ‘They used to always be together, and now you never see them together,’” the podcast host told listeners. “I’m like, ‘Do you guys not know that for the past six months [that] I’ve been trying to make a baby?’”

She pointed out that Jelly Roll has to “work to f***ing bring home the bacon” — which often involves touring and recording all across the world — while she has the “luxury of working from home.”

“He doesn’t [have that luxury],” she added. “He has to make appearances, but I literally have been on IVF meds for f***ing six months and going through heartbreak and f***ing so much s*** … That’s why you haven’t seen me [because] mama’s about to pop out. I gotta remind them. I might even do a sexy photoshoot and piss off all the f***ing [haters].”

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have been married since 2016. The Grammy Award nominee is also a father of two children from previous relationships.

The “Save Me” artist has had a whirlwind month, having performed with tourmate Post Malone at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards via satellite from Hanover, Germany, on September 7 and then meeting Pope Leo XIV ahead of a Vatican City concert on September 13.

Fans in attendance at the festival reportedly received a few updates on Young’s condition from other artists throughout the day. Young’s friend Remi Wolf spoke on stage about how frightening the ordeal was.

Young has been candid about physical and mental health issues in the past, including explaining via Instagram how her life changed after being diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at age 17. (According to the Mayo Clinic, the condition is “marked by a mix of schizophrenia symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions, and mood disorder symptoms, such as depression, mania and a milder form of mania called hypomania.”)

“I can’t find the words to describe how much this diagnosis has affected my entire life, and my outlook on the world around me,” she wrote in 2022. “I have struggled immensely learning to accept this part of myself, and I am still learning.”

She went on, “I have to remind myself that I am a regular f***ing person, I am human and I am, like everyone, capable of incredible things, my mental health condition does not define me. It is my superpower.”

The musician is wrapping up a breakout year, which saw her single “Messy” top the U.K. Singles Chart for four weeks in late 2024 and subsequently reach No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. Her third studio album, I’m Only F***ing Myself, was released on September 19, and hit No. 3 on the U.K. Album Chart the following week.

  • Katie Thurston’s Breast Cancer Battle: A Timeline

Katie Thurston was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2025 at the age of 34.

“I had a small lump in my breast around the 10’oclock [sic] spot,” the former Bachelorette wrote via her Instagram Stories that same month. “I discovered it myself. Thought maybe it was my period [or] maybe it was muscle soreness from working out. But, eventually, this lump never went away.”

Thurston subsequently visited her doctor for a mammogram, which indicated the presence of cancerous tissue. She later underwent a biopsy to learn more about the type of cancer.

“Good news! My cancer hasn’t metastasize[d],” Thurston shared via her Instagram Stories on February 21, 2025, noting the malignant tissue was confined in her lymph nodes. “Two more appointments left in LA before officially moving to NYC [on] March 1st. The anticipated order of things is fertility (egg/embryo freezing), chemo, then surgery.”

Ahead of her cancer treatment, Thurston moved to the Big Apple with her now-husband, Jeff Arcuri. (Thurston and the comedian got engaged in late 2024 and married in March 2025.)

“I’m so thankful for my family, friends, and community here for helping me make it to my current stage [sic] of mind,” she added. “Today I feel calm, less scared, and ready.”

Thurston discovered a lump in her breast in late 2024, noting the following February on her Instagram Stories that the pain continued for “three [or] four months.”

“My first lump [which was a benign cyst] felt like a pea or marble [and] hard, unnatural, but didn’t cause me discomfort. The second felt larger,” she recalled in February 2025. “The pain initially came and went, but maybe after 3-4 months of it not going away or improving, I got nervous and saw my doctor.”

Thurston had a breast ultrasound, a mammogram and multiple biopsies, which confirmed the presence of cancer.

    February 2025

Thurston was diagnosed shortly before Valentine’s Day, revealing the news publicly several hours later.

“Yesterday I saw all the couples post their Valentine’s Day celebrations. I felt envious if I’m being honest. Jeff took me to Hawaii and after, we were going to travel the world before planting roots together in NYC finally,” she wrote via Instagram on February 15. “But instead, my Vday was spent coordinating a place to live as I have to go back to LA for more testing and treatment.”

She added, “I used my morning to figure out insurance for NYC and laws on preexisting conditions. I scheduled appointments for another biopsy, fertility, mental health, surgery, as well as meeting with my team to discuss the overall treatment plan, which will include chemo.”

Thurston had another biopsy, this time on her lymph nodes, on February 19.

“Finished biopsy. Went much better this time,” Thurston wrote via her Instagram Stories. “Took lorazepam, explained my last appt struggles and asked for more numbing, and they allowed Jeff to be there holding my hand.”

The biopsy indicated that Thurston’s cancer hadn’t metastasized further.

    March 2025

At the start of the month, Thurston moved to NYC full-time before she started fertility treatments. The reality star opted to freeze embryos before undergoing chemotherapy.

“One day you think you don’t want kids,” she wrote on March 9. “Then one day you meet the man of your dreams and would do anything to make sure we can start a family in the future.”

A Timeline of Former Bachelorette Katie Thurston Breast Cancer Battle From Diagnosis to Treatment
    Courtesy of Katie Thurston/Instagram

Throughout March, Thurston continued planning her treatment protocol.

“I opted in for the I-Spy breast cancer trial instead of the standard of care,” she wrote on March 13. “The goal is to match treatments to patients used on the molecular and genetic characteristics of their tumors instead of a ‘one size fits all’ route. This all means I’ll have extra testing done in advance and during.”

That same day, she had an optometry appointment to “get [her] eyes checked out” to check if she still qualifies for the I-Spy clinical trial. One day later, Thurston underwent an egg retrieval.

Days after Us Weekly exclusively confirmed that Thurston and Arcuri tied the knot on March 22, they discovered multiple spots had been found on the former Bachelorette’s liver. Afterward, Thurston underwent biopsies on her breast, lymph nodes and liver to discover when to start her treatment. She also had a port placed.

On March 28, Thurston confirmed that the spots found on her liver were cancerous.

“After days of waiting, unfortunately, I did find out today that my breast cancer has spread to the liver,” she said in an Instagram video. “It is fairly small, however it does put me at stage four.”

Thurston shared that she would start treatment the following week.

    April 2025

As Thurston packed her hospital bag on April 3 to start chemotherapy the next day, she received a call from her doctors to pause her plans.

“I got the call that my pathology results on my liver, breast and lymph nodes all came back as HER2 Negative, even though my original samples as Kaiser were HER2+,” Thurston wrote via Instagram on April 4. “I was minutes away from taking my steroid for chemo prep. Instead, I am headed to my doctor to discuss how this happened, what testing is needed and what this means for my new treatment plan. Sounds like chemo is off the table now.”

She confirmed on April 10 that her cancer was HER2-negative. “What this means is no chemo,” she explained via Instagram Story, before breaking down her new treatment plan.

“Instead I’ll be on Letrozole + Kisqali + Zoladex as my first line of treatment,” she wrote. “This is a custom plan based on being [/] having HER2-negative, Luminal B, hormone-positive breast cancer. Letrozole to block estrogen, Kisqali to stop cancer cells from growing, and Zoladex to shut down my ovaries.”

However, chemo is “not completely off the table,” she explained, saying, “If this treatment stops working or if the cancer grows again, it’s an option we’ll revisit. We will closely monitor the treatment plan and make sure it’s working for my body.”

On April 12, Thurston further broke down her treatment plan, adding that she’ll have “monthly” appointments to “monitor my heart and do blood draws.” She added, “I think my first scan from now is in three months.”

    June 2025

Thurston shared via Instagram on June 1 that she finished her second month of treatment and noticed a few changes to her body.

“Right now, after finishing two months of my medication, my hair is coming out in an unnatural amount of clumps. Working on that,” she said. “I’m losing my memory. That’s great. Going through customs and them being like, ‘Where are you coming from?’ And I looked at him and was like, ‘I don’t remember. I don’t remember.’”

Thurston explained that she’s making “big decisions” about how to treat her liver, whether that be radiation, ablation, histotripsy — which she shared is what she’s going to do with NYU. She noted that zoladex didn’t work, leading her to get her period. Thurston explained that she’s switching to lupron, and if that doesn’t work, she claimed her ovaries might need to be taken out.

Weeks later, Thurston got candid about the cost of her ongoing treatment. She shared a screenshot of an insurance claim via her Instagram Story, which showed that her doctors were billed $320,325.57, while she paid $22,420.40 out of pocket.

“Thank you to the brands I have the opportunity to work with and the people who support me,” Thurston wrote. “Shoutout to the $1300/month I pay to help with my medical bills that I’ll have the rest of my life as a stage 4 patient.”

    July 2025

After vacationing in Greece with her husband, Thurston returned home for her “three month scan check in.”

“We will find out if the tumors are stable (no growth) or even possibly shrinking! As long as my scans are good, I can continue this treatment plan,” she wrote via her Instagram Story at the time. “As a stage 4 girly, I’ll be on a treatment plan for life, so it’s a win when something is working. It’s also why funding is so important for breast cancer research, because some of us run out of options for treatment.”

    September 2025

Thurston gave an update on her plans for treatment. After some scans came back “a little concerning,” her doctor lowered her medication dosage from three pills to two a day.

“That has worked for my liver enzymes, meaning I don’t need to pause my treatment, I can continue my treatment,” she said in a July 2025 Instagram video. “The bigger test on if this is working still, is next month I will get rescanned to see how much the tumor has shrunk.”

If her next round of scans comes back good, Thurston will be able to undergo a double mastectomy in November.

The next day, Williams attended a Dennis Basso event with restaurateur Max Tucci, her niece Alex Finnie and Finnie’s fiancé Eric Houston, Page Six reported on Monday, September 15. Seemingly in good spirits, she sported a yellow tweed suit with white sneakers and a huge grin on her face.

The former talk show host has been under a court-ordered guardianship since 2022, when Wells Fargo filed court documents alleging they feared she was an “incapacitated person” and a “victim of undue influence.”

Wendy Williams’ lawyer revealed they are still waiting on test results from doctors to determine the next move in her guardianship despite a recent report suggesting the guardianship had been upheld, Us Weekly can exclusively report. On Tuesday, September 9, Williams’ attorney Allan Diamond wrote a letter to the federal judge seeking to delay a […]

Williams denied the allegations. She has emphasized that she doesn’t need to be under a guardianship where she lacks control over her life and money. Her family is trying to have it dissolved.

As Us Weekly reported in June, Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, filed a $250 million lawsuit against her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, Wells Fargo and Lori Schiller, a Wells Fargo employee, whom Williams had worked with. Weeks later, Williams’ legal team asked for the case to be dismissed, alleging that she did not want it to go forward. The judge has yet to rule.

Earlier this month, Williams attorney Allan Diamond said they were awaiting test results from doctors to determine the next steps in her guardianship — despite a recent report that suggested the arrangement had been upheld.

On Tuesday, September 9, Diamond submitted a letter to a judge requesting a delay in a proposed deposition of Williams. Morrissey had previously sued A&E Television Networks over the docuseries dubbed Where Is Wendy Williams? that aired last year.

Diamond explained that it was “premature to require my client to sit for a deposition at this time,” and that Williams’ lawyers remain “vigorously engaged in obtaining medical, psychological and healthcare assessments of my client from some of the leading neurologists and neuropsychologists in the country.”

He noted, “While much of that testing has occurred, we still await further test results, diagnoses and prognoses from our medical team before moving forward with any treatment or other planning in connection with my client’s guardianship proceedings.”

He said that he hoped to have “additional healthcare information sometime before the end of next month,” and asked the court not to schedule Williams’ deposition until the medical results come back.

In August, People reported that Williams had again been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Morrissey’s attorney soon requested that Williams’ deposition not take place until issues including Hunter’s lawsuit were resolved.

  • Erin Bates Leaves Hospital Following Septic Shock Diagnosis

Bringing Up Bates star Erin Bates is finally going home after going into septic shock following the birth of her and Chad Paine‘s seventh baby.

“After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies,” her husband posted via Instagram on Saturday, September 13, along with photos of the new mom leaving the hospital with her newborn baby. “We don’t have all the answers yet, and I still don’t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing—especially the gift of being together again. Your prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family. ❤️”

Erin, one of Kelly Jo and Gil Bates‘ 19 children, and Paine welcomed their son Henry on August 25.

“After a long and emotional labor, our miracle arrived. … Henry is doing wonderful, but we would so appreciate your prayers for Erin as she continues to recover from some complications,” read a statement shared via Instagram on August 27. “We thank the Lord for carrying us through and for the gift of this precious boy. 💙.”

Days later, Paine shared a positive update on the baby’s health, but revealed Erin remained in the hospital. “We wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and support you have given on our behalf. It’s been a week since our miracle, Henry came into the world. He is doing well in the NICU and is our bundle of happiness,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Paine’s message was accompanied by two black-and-white photos of Erin in a hospital bed. “We had asked for prayer for recovery for Erin due to complications. Her labor was longer and more intense than previous births. She has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet testimony of grace to nurses, staff, and doctors alike. We are all moved by her kindness and gratefulness in the midst of pain,” he continued.

Paine revealed that his wife “developed a severe UTI and kidney infection,” which caused septic shock. “She is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose, and search for answers. We would covet your prayers for this beautiful girl who is such a light in a dark world. We are holding onto God’s promises,” he concluded.

As fans and family members sent thoughts and prayers to the couple, Paine provided more insight into Erin’s condition on September 4. “I have so many mixed emotions as I share this,” he wrote via Instagram. “Last night, Erin suffered a lengthy and severe seizure. Up to this point, Erins infection was getting better, but we found ourselves back in a place of heartache, uncertainty, and tears. She is in the ICU, and the doctors are running scans and tests to determine the cause. Erin is extremely weak and spent hours only half conscious.”

Paine added that seeing Erin “struggle” was “one of the hardest things” for him to do. “I love her more deeply than words can express, and I can’t even imagine life without my best friend,” he wrote. “The hours have been long and heavy, and I know many hearts are aching to see her this way, along with mine. We hold on to faith that healing is coming, even in the midst of the unknown. Your prayers are felt and we are forever grateful.”

  • How Emma Heming Willis Communicates With Bruce Amid Dementia, Language Issues

Emma Heming Willis found new ways to communicate with husband Bruce Willis after his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

In her book, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path, Heming Willis, 49, details the impact the disease has had on her husband linguistically. (FTD’s most common symptoms include “struggles with decision-making, movement, speaking or language comprehension,” per the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.)

“Because Bruce can’t communicate with me (due to the variant of FTD he has, primary progressive aphasia), I must make judgment calls for him about absolutely everything. I can’t ask him how he’s feeling, what’s wrong or if something hurts,” Heming Willis wrote. “Instead, I read his body language or look into his eyes to understand what’s bothering him and what he’s experiencing. I compare this to the instinct that you have as a parent. With just one glance at your child, you can tell immediately if something isn’t right. And with one look at Bruce, I can tell if his neck hurts or if he’s got a headache.”

Primary progressive aphasia “begins gradually, with speech or language symptoms that vary depending on the brain areas affected by the disease,” according to The Weill Institute for Neurosciences Memory and Aging Center.

“It was a hard decision for us, but it was the safest and best decision not just for Bruce but also for our two young girls,” she said during the interview. “And, you know, it’s really not up for a debate. Now I know that Bruce has the best care 100 percent of the time. His needs are met 100 percent of the time, as well as our two young daughters. So I’m not gonna take a vote on that.”

  • Vera Wang, 76, stuns fans with ageless glow in latest appearance

Vera Wang has been drinking from the fountain of youth, if her recent social media post is anything to go by. The legendary fashion designer, known for her stunning and unusual bridal gowns, shared a glowing picture to Instagram on Sunday after attending the US Open, and had fans wondering just how she achieves her ageless appearance. She wore a chic beige blouse in the photo, and put her hand on her chin as she smiled for the camera, her iconic dark locks hanging down past her stomach.

“APRES TENNIS…CIPRIANI,” the 76-year-old wrote in the caption, alongside a series of emojis. She then added snaps from her time at the US Open, dressed in a blue long-sleeved shirt, black pants and chunky white sneakers. Her fans ran to the comment section to exclaim over how youthful she looked, with one writing, “What a gift to look like this in this age,” while another added, “You look gorgeous my dear!!!”

“She does not age,” declared another in all-caps, while a fourth chimed in, “Stunning, timeless, beauty. What a great shot.” Vera quickly clarified that her youthful appearance was mostly due to the mood lighting of Cipriani, the famed Italian restaurant beloved by A-listers. “HEY GUYS. GREAT LIGHTING = CIPRIANI !!!!!” she wrote in the comments.

According to Vera, there is no secret to anti-aging; rather, she sticks to a diet that includes healthy foods as well as things that she enjoys, like pizza and McDonald’s. “I go through phases with what I eat for lunch,” she previously told Harper’s Bazaar. “I like sashimi with brown rice and vegetables, Chinese steamed broccoli with chicken and rice, or the artichoke salad or fish from Sant Ambroeus.”

“At one point, I was eating a slice of Ray’s pizza every day, and I never gained a pound on it. It’s not a bad thing if you squeeze out that excess oil. It’s so filling,” she continued. “I only drink water – I stopped drinking Diet Coke six years ago. That was the hardest thing I ever gave up.”

She isn’t afraid of aging, though, and feels just as spritely now than she did in her 20’s. “After my 75th last year, I said, ‘Maybe, you don’t have to celebrate after 75,’” Vera told People“A lot of my friends don’t want to. They say, ‘I’m too old.’ I said, ‘It’s not about being old. It’s about being here and living, and we should celebrate that.’”

“But you have to celebrate every year that you’re alive. That’s just how I feel,” she continued. “I think maybe a little bit like Warren Buffett [age 95] or Queen Elizabeth II [who passed away aged 96], I’m just going to keep prodding on because I feel as though I’m able to do my best work more and more. I’m really trying to respect that in me, that voice in me, that I feel very happy to be creating. That’s what it’s all about, really.”
