  • I’m A Celebrity star Martin Kemp backed for King of the Jungle by ex-campmate

    [ad_1]

I’m A Celebrity star Martin Kemp has been given a huge boost ahead of tonight’s launch show by one former campmate.

James Haskell took part in the show back in 2019. He was the fourth contestant to be eliminated.

Now, speaking exclusively to Entertainment Daily, he has backed Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp for King of the Jungle…

Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo, James told us he thinks this year’s show will be “interesting”. And he backed “quite game” Martin to win.

“I think it will be interesting. Someone like Martin, I think, he seems quite game, seems quite fun. Lisa Riley looks like someone that will be able to get into it,” he added. James then said: “The thing is, you can never tell too early on who’s gonna really be the shining light.”

However, it sounds like if he was a betting man, then his money’s on the ex-EastEnders star. “I think Martin, if you were looking at it initially, could be someone who’s like a safe pair of hands around the camp really.”

    ‘The dunny was rank’

James, who said he would consider the All Stars spin-off of the show, also shared his least favourite part of jungle life – the dunny!

“Going to the toilet – the dunny was pretty rank. I mean that’s never that nice, and having to empty it, it’s not nice either,” he said. The creepy crawlies also freaked him out: “I woke up with a leech one morning on the side of my arm, which is a bit odd. It crawled on me in the night.”

Despite that, he would go back and do it all over again on All Stars. “Listen, if they want me, I would. I would obviously have to think of my family first, and how long I would be away for, and how that looks. But if we were asked to do it, I definitely would! I think I had a lot of fun. I’d probably do it a bit more differently, I would be a bit more relaxed now, but I would definitely do it.”

‘Chloe would be great’ on I’m A Celebrity, says James

After his ex-father-in-law Richard Madeley had a very short-lived stay in I’m A Celebrity back in 2021, ED! asked James if mother-in-law Judy Finnigan or ex-wife Chloe Madeley could head to the jungle at some point…

“I think Chloe would be great at it. I don’t know whether she’ll be able to be away from home for that long – I think she’d find it really hard, so that would be something to think about, but I think she would do really well. Judy, no, I don’t think she would want to do it,” he said.

James concluded: “A lot of people from my series struggled being away from their families. But for me I was used to it because it was just like being on tour. I was good at compartmentalising where lots of others were sort of, you know, just having meltdowns in the rain.”

    I’m A Celebrity 2025 starts tonight (November 16) on ITV1 at 9pm.

    [ad_1]

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman made a shock announcement yesterday (October 23) that they were leaving Strictly Come Dancing at the end of this series.

The hosting duo decided to leave the show together, having fronted the show for 21 years. Strictly fans and dancers were left heartbroken by the statement. The women stated they felt it was “the right time” to walk away.

There have already been calls for them to return to the dance-floor again. But not as hosts… And exclusive odds from SportsCasting show us just how likely that is.

Calls for Tess and Claudia to compete on Strictly

Tess and Claudia shared a joint video on Instagram, and also gave their own personal statements. And have been hugely supported by those closest to them.

The announcement may have only happened 24 hours ago, but there is already quite a lot of speculation on their replacements. And there have been a lot of calls to get them on the show.

Pro-dancer Dianne Buswell, shared her hopes for them to be able to compete in an Instagram post dedicated to both of them.

She penned: “Tess and Claud, genuinely the coolest big sisters ever! So lucky to have got to work with you both for all these years! You will be missed dearly.

“Just a question, does this mean you can now compete on the show? If so, I bags the all girl partnership!”

Joanne Clifton also shared her hopes for them to be contestants. She penned: “I still can’t believe it. These two legends. Such a privilege to have been on the show with them. Now PLEASE come back as celebs and DANCE! Let’s make this happen!”

Fans are also hopeful that it might be happening next year. Taking to X, one penned: “Telling myself Tess and Claudia leaving is all a big hoax because they’re going to be contestants next year. Then they will just continue to present from the year after.”

Another added: “So, what I’m hearing is Tess and Claudia will be available as contestants next year…”

What are the chances of either of the stars to come back?

But could it actually happen? According to exclusive odds from SportsCasting, it seems likely that one of them will return in dancing shoes.

Currently the most likely is Tess (2/1), while Claudia is more of a “wildcard” (8/1).

Spokesperson Shane Orton told ED!: “With both Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepping down from their iconic Strictly hosting roles, there’s growing speculation about what’s next for the duo. A possible return to the dance floor in the future isn’t being ruled out. And it’s a move that would certainly surprise fans.

“Tess already has some form, scoring an impressive 36 for her American Smooth with Anton Du Beke on the 2008 Children in Need special. Claudia remains more of a wildcard.”

Shane continued: “At 2/1 for Tess and 8/1 for Claudia to appear as contestants, our traders at SportsCasting think a Strictly comeback could make for one of the show’s most-talked-about twists yet.”

  • Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Robshaw reveals his family are ‘loving’ his time on the show

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Robshaw has revealed how his young family really feel about him taking part in the BBC show this year.

The rugby player has been partnered with pro dancer Nadiya Bychkova. And, while they found themselves in the dance-off a couple of weeks ago, last week they managed to avoid it – something he told ED! he was “thrilled” about.

Chris has been married to opera singer Camilla Kerslake since 2018, tying the knot after eight years of dating. The couple are parents to two sons – Wilding, four, and Hunter, one. Chris’ family ‘love’ the journey

While the dreaded Strictly Curse brings about fears for relationships each and every year, Chris and his young family have adapted well to him appearing on the show. He even previously admitted he wasn’t “worried” about the curse affecting his marriage.

Now, speaking to ED!, Chris has revealed that he’s successfully managed to merge his family life and his Strictly experience. He explained: “The family and Strictly are worlds that have come together. It has been okay. And we are all loving this journey as a family.”

Not just that, but it seems his wife and kids have enjoyed spending some time with Nadiya. In fact, the trio have even had the chance to give dancing a try themselves.

Chris said: “The boys and Camilla have even had some dance lessons of their own from Nadiya. I have met some amazing new mates on the show too. They are a lovely bunch and I feel very lucky to be sharing the dance-floor with them all.”

Chris and his sons have Strictly parties

Both of Chris’ sons are still very young. But that doesn’t mean they can’t get involved in the Strictly fun. And it seems that is exactly what Chris is ensuring happens when he spends his Sundays at home.

As for what his older son, Wilding, thinks of his time on the show, Chris admitted that he is “proud” of him.

He said: “He is so proud of me.” Chris added: “He loves that I get to bring home the props so we can have our Strictly Sunday morning parties together to celebrate. The boys are my world, and to share this experience with them, it means everything to me.”

  • Strictly star addresses ‘upsetting’ change to results show following huge backlash

    [ad_1]

Former Strictly star Vincent Simone has exclusively spoken out after viewers were not impressed with show’s changes to its results show.

The 2025 series is in full swing and Movie Week is just around the corner. Last weekend, Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden were the first couple booted off.

While many were left divided over the result, they were also distracted by the show’s new format.

Strictly viewers react to ‘new format’ following first results show

After viewers found out which couples had landed themselves in the bottom two, the other two celebrities who were safe did not return upstairs for an interview with host Claudia Winkleman.

Fans also noticed that the entrance music and tense song played during the show’s elimination process is not the same. After 23 series, the Strictly’s format has felt like a tradition for viewers.

Naturally, they reacted online with disappointment.

“I feel sorry for the last two safe contestants who don’t get to speak in the Clauditorium and the music is weird,” one user wrote.

“One thing I didn’t like was not hearing from the last two that got through,” another shared.

“Is it me or is the new format of the results show awful,” a third said.

Farewell old tension music much missed,” a fourth expressed.

Just watch the result show, the new format is stupid, can production stop change the traditional things? First entrance music, now two more couples can not get interview? What’s your problem? This show already losing vibes and production pushing it,” a fifth wrote.

It puts more pressure on the couples’

Following the complaints, Vincent shared his opinion exclusively with ED!

“Things need to evolve – shows, people, everything,” he said.

“I did like it this year, I liked that it was a bit different and left the couples waiting longer. It made it more interesting, even though it might be a bit more upsetting for them.”

Vincent insisted that the “only negative” is when the call out order for who is safe is “random”.

He added: “If you’re not called early on, it can be nerve-wracking waiting there, wondering if you’re safe. But on the other hand, it can push people to work even harder the following week.”

“From a viewer’s perspective, I think it’s a good change. It puts more pressure on the couples and adds to the excitement. When you’re down to the last few waiting, it really gets the audience going.”

  • Doctor issues warning as pregnant Dianne Buswell set to make show history: “She’ll need careful monitoring”

    [ad_1]

Strictly star Dianne Buswell has received backlash after revealing that she’ll take part in this year’s series while pregnant with her first baby.

Dianne and partner Joe Sugg announced that they’re expecting their first baby – a little boy – over the weekend.

However, talk in the comments section of the couple’s announcement soon turned to this year’s Strictly, and if Dianne would compete.

She fired back at comments with a defiant “why wouldn’t I?” and now a doctor has weighed in, telling critics that “healthy women can safely continue exercise with proper precautions, tailored intensity and medical monitoring”.

It’ll be the first time in the show’s history that a competitor on the show has taken part while pregnant.

Dianne Buswell does have a celebrity partner this year

The Aussie pro dancer won the series last year and she’s back to try and retain the Glitterball Trophy alongside her as-yet-unnamed celebrity partner. We’ll find out who Dianne is paired with on Saturday night (September 20), when the launch show airs.

And, despite backlash from some quarters, Dr Jack Ogden, a GP at The Lagom Clinic in Bristol, told ED! that Dianne’s participation in the series “isn’t unsafe”. However, he did warn that it’ll need “medical oversight, modified routines and careful monitoring” – all things we’re sure the Strictly team have in place for the reigning champ!

‘Pregnancy does not require giving up exercise’

Jack said: “Pregnancy does not require giving up exercise. In fact, the right kind of physical activity can improve outcomes for both mother and baby.

“While Dianne Buswell’s participation in Strictly during pregnancy isn’t inherently unsafe, it requires medical oversight, modified routines and careful monitoring.”

He also added: “NHS guidelines recommend at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity weekly during pregnancy, noting benefits such as reduced risk of gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and excessive weight gain.”

Jack did say, however, that certain adaptations will be needed as Dianne progresses in her pregnancy. “Dance can be safe if adapted to avoid falls, overheating and abdominal trauma. However, competitive dance involves high-intensity routines,” he explained. “This heightens risks such as dehydration, joint strain and loss of balance, especially as pregnancy progresses.

“Critics may worry about fetal safety under physical stress. However, evidence indicates that healthy women can safely continue exercise with proper precautions, tailored intensity and medical monitoring.”

To get the best out of Strictly while pregnant, Dianne will need “personalised care, choreography adjustments and regular check-ins with healthcare providers”.

    ‘The key is moderation’

The GP also recommends staying hydrated and listening to her body and stop and rest if she feels unwell.

“With proper adjustments and medical guidance, competing while pregnant is not only safe but can also support physical and emotional wellbeing. The key is moderation, supervision and prioritising maternal and fetal health above performance,” he concluded.

For more information on exercising while pregnant, speak to your GP or midwife.
