  • Coronation Street follow-up: As Debbie goes to prison, spoilers reveal two huge soap stars cast as fellow prisoners

Coronation Street delivered a huge twist in tonight’s episode (Wednesday, February 4) as Carl Webster dropped a brutal bombshell on Debbie Webster – telling her he wanted to see her go to prison.

The shock came after Debbie finally confessed the truth Carl had never known – she isn’t his aunt at all, but his biological mum. And as if that family fallout wasn’t explosive enough, it now looks like Carl’s grim wish is about to come true – with two familiar soap faces set to join Debbie in Weatherfield prison.

Carl turns on Debbie after huge Coronation Street revelation

Earlier in the episode, Ronnie opened up to Carl about his fears for Debbie’s health. He worried that her symptoms could worsen if she ended up in prison.

Racked with guilt over framing Debbie for the crash, Carl assured Ronnie he’d put things right. He initially planned to confess to the police, but at the last minute, he lost his nerve and backed out.

Instead, Carl went to Debbie and admitted he was the one responsible. But rather than being shocked, Debbie revealed she already knew the truth – and had been covering for him. Her reason? She’s his mum.

Debbie then explained that she discovered she was pregnant at just 17. Elaine stepped in and offered to raise Carl as her own. This allowed Debbie to avoid the pressures of being a single teenage mother.

The revelation only fuelled Carl’s anger. He blamed Debbie for his troubled upbringing, claiming he’d always felt unwanted by Elaine. In a devastating outburst, Carl told Debbie that every mistake he’d ever made was down to her decision – before coldly telling her he hoped she’d go to prison, because she deserved it.

Two former soap stars join Debbie in Coronation Street prison scenes

Things go from bad to worse for Debbie later this week. She receives a crushing verdict in court on Friday (February 6). Spoilers for next week reveal that she is sent to prison. And, she won’t be facing it alone.

Corrie fans are set for a familiar face as Farrel Hegarty reprises her role as villain Lou Michaelis, returning especially for Debbie’s prison storyline as her new cellmate.

Joining her is former Emmerdale star Kelli Hollis, who has been cast as the so-called ‘Queen Bee’ of Weatherfield prison. Her character is tipped to make life extremely difficult for Debbie during her time inside.

A source told The Sun: “Corrie bosses wanted someone who could really make an impact and knew Kelli would be perfect for the guest role.

“She’s been away from Emmerdale for over a decade now, so the soap fans are going to love seeing her back on our screens.

“Although her character is going to leave them shocked because she is not very nice at all and is set to make Debbie’s life hell.”

  • Huge ‘hint’ Carl Webster at risk of flashforward death after Theo’s chilling ultimatum in Coronation Street

Tonight’s Coronation Street (Wednesday, January 28) delivered some seriously dark moments as Carl Webster and Theo Silverton went head-to-head with chilling threats – all unfolding against the backdrop of Billy’s funeral.

The gloves were well and truly off as Carl hinted he could expose Theo for leaving Billy to die. But Theo wasn’t about to take that lying down and fired back with a threat of his own – one that could blow Carl’s life apart.

Carl and Theo at war in Coronation Street

Just moments before Billy was laid to rest, Theo was hit with a devastating revelation. Carl confirmed that the confession whispered in the undertakers hadn’t gone unheard after all. While forgiveness from Billy was suggested, it quickly became clear that Todd wouldn’t be so understanding. With his secret no longer safely buried, Theo’s guilt weighed heavier than ever.

During the service itself, Todd was asked to deliver the eulogy but found himself unable to continue through his grief. Theo stepped in, subtly steering the narrative in a very different direction. Responsibility was quietly nudged towards Todd, with the suggestion that Billy’s death might have been avoided. A carefully vague expression of regret followed from Theo, and, still unaware of the full truth, Todd offered his forgiveness.

Elsewhere, Ryan was left injured after being attacked in a hotel robbery, with the thieves making a quick escape. Carl appeared to play the hero, stepping in as a rescuer – but it later emerged the entire crime had been orchestrated by him. Crucially, Theo secretly obtained photographic proof.

That evidence shifted the balance of power. A deal was made. Carl was warned to stay silent. And Theo delivered a chilling promise – if the truth came out, Carl’s funeral would be next.

Huge ‘hint’ Carl Webster could be at risk of Coronation Street flashforward death

Coronation Street viewers already know the soap is building towards a deadly flashforward, with five characters potentially facing a tragic end.

With Theo now openly alluding to Carl’s possible death, the danger surrounding him has ramped up dramatically. While there’s been no confirmation that Carl is one of the ‘five,’ the tension suggests his days could be numbered.

Could Carl be the one who doesn’t make it through the upcoming flashforward scenes?

Teasing what’s to come, Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks said: “One of our characters has found a dead body on the street, and we don’t know who it is.

She then added: “So, there are five potential victims and we will take the audience on a journey for them to try and figure out who that body is and what happened.”

  • Has Coronation Street just foreshadowed a double murder for Christmas? Kevin’s dark threat to Carl and Abi spark fears

Kevin threatened to kill Abi and Carl in Coronation Street tonight (Wednesday, September 24) – is the soap foreshadowing a Christmas storyline?

Abi couldn’t take any more and decided to tell Kevin Webster that their marriage was over.

However, Kevin didn’t take the news well, so could a double murder be on the cards?

Abi ends her marriage to Kevin in Coronation Street

Abi Webster accompanied Kevin to the hospital for his cancer check-up appointment tonight. They received good news, with Kevin being told: there was “no active cancer present”.

Kevin was relieved and told Abi it was like a fresh start for the pair of them. But Abi was clearly not as enthusiastic about that idea as Kevin. He later asked Abi what was wrong and proposed they get a dog.

As Kevin rattled on about walking the dog along the canal and growing old together, a shocked Abi made Kevin promise that he wouldn’t get a dog without checking with her first.

She then met with Carl and told him she loved him so much and didn’t want to lie to Kevin any more. Carl assured her he felt the same (while making plans to meet up with James).

Kevin soon had another plan: he showed Abi a picture of an old Ford Capri, telling her he wanted them to do it up together. Abi finally lost it and told him: “I think we should break up.”

Kevin begged Abi not to leave him, before saying: “It’s Carl, innit? I’m gonna kill him.” Abi insisted it was nothing to do with anyone else, she just wasn’t in love with him any more.

They were interrupted by Jack, who told them Debbie needed them in the pub. Worried something had happened to Debbie, Abi hurried Kev to the pub only to find she just wanted to celebrate Kevin’s all clear from the hospital.

    Double murder fears

Over at the pub, Kevin dragged Carl outside and demanded to know if he and Abi were having an affair. Similarly to Abi, Carl insisted there was nothing going on and had the audacity to say: “That’s what you think of me, is it? That I’d do your wife while you’re fighting cancer?”

It seemed like Kevin had believed there was nothing going on with Abi and Carl, but he later told Debbie he still had his suspicions after seeing the pair of them flirting on CCTV from the garage.

Kevin angrily told Debbie: “If she’s left me for him, I swear, I’ll kill the pair of ’em.”

With Carl and Abi agreeing to keep their relationship a secret for a bit longer, will it all come out at Christmas? And with Kev’s threats, has Coronation Street foreshadowed a not so jolly double murder festive storyline?

  • Coronation Street follow-up: Tracy catches Carl and Abi at it as their affair continues

In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Wednesday, August 20), a jealous Abi confronted Carl over choosing to go for drinks with Tracy. The jealousy seemed to go both ways, and he decided to meet up with her anyway.

Soon enough, however, it became clear that Tracy knew more than she let on…

After learning that Abi had slept with her husband, Kevin, despite their ongoing affair, Carl was jealous of his older brother. Though Abi insisted she didn’t want to make it obvious that she was playing away, by refusing to sleep with him, that didn’t stop Carl from being upset with her.

It was only made worse when he pointed out she was going away with him to Mallorca. Happy to make the jealousy go both ways, Carl chose to meet up with Tracy Barlow for drinks.

At the Chariot Square Hotel, Tracy was quickly suspicious that Carl was seeing someone. Much to his surprise, she soon confronted him with an accusation, saying: “let me guess, she wears overalls and stinks of engine oil?”

If that alone didn’t give away that she’d worked out the truth, she soon added: “it’s Abi, innit?” Looks like she’s onto them!

However, Carl was quick to make his excuses, telling Tracy that the ‘other woman’ in his life was an ex from Germany. Though she does seem to have figured out the truth, she didn’t push it any further…for now.

Abi, meanwhile, made an excuse of her own, telling Kevin she couldn’t go on holiday with him, as she’d lost her passport. Surprisingly, Kevin bought it and headed off on holiday with the boys.

Though Abi promised she’d join them in a few days after fast tracking another passport, that wasn’t her plan at all…

Tracy discovers Carl and Abi’s affair as their deceit continues

As Carl and Abi’s affair continues on Friday (August 22), Tracy grows suspicious when she spots Abi in the shop buying lager. Meanwhile, with Abi out of the house, Debbie lets herself in to do some cleaning.

She goes dizzy and collapses. Abi returns home to find Carl at his sister’s side, and calls an ambulance. As Debbie is rushed to hospital, Carl rushes back upstairs to hide.

Later, once alone again, Abi and Carl share a hug which soon turns intimate. Neither are aware that Tracy is watching through the window, with a devious grin on her face. What will she do next?
