    Account Fees

    • The 360 Checking account has no monthly cycle service charge and no minimum balance required to open or maintain the account.
    • There’s no early closing fee for this account but if your account is in default, closed or suspended, or otherwise not in good standing before you receive the bonus, you will not receive the bonus. No minimum balance is required to be maintained in order to receive this bonus.

    Guru’s Wrap-Up

With this offer from Capital One you can earn $250 for opening a new checking account and making 20 debit transactions of $10 or more within 75 days. While that might require a bit of work, some people prefer these offers that do not require a direct deposit.

Bank of America officially opened its new 3,474-square-foot branch at 366 Route 25A in Rocky Point on Wednesday, Sept.17. The property was formerly occupied by a Capital One bank branch.

The new Rocky Point branch, which features enhanced technology, private offices and on-site financial specialists, is one of 60 recently renovated or new Bank of America financial centers across Long Island, according to a company statement.

“The new financial center in Rocky Point reflects our high-tech and high-touch approach to meeting the banking, borrowing, and investing needs of our clients,” Marc Perez, president of Bank of America Long Island said in the statement. “At every one of our financial centers, our priority is providing clients with expert advice and personalized guidance to help them make confident financial decisions.”

Since 2020, the company has invested more than $11 million across Long Island through grants to local nonprofits, employee matching gifts, sponsorships and more, including supporting Long Island-based Bank of America employees who have collectively volunteered more than 50,000 hours, according to the statement.

    Guru’s Wrap-up

This is a good opportunity for those that need more Virgin Points. You can now transfer 1,000 Capital One Miles and receive 1,300 Virgin Points. As a reminder, Virgin Points never expire, so you can take advantage of this promotion even if you don’t need to make an immediate booking. However, it’s best not to transfer speculatively, because these transfers are not reversible.

Virgin Points can be used for sailings with Virgin Voyages, luxury stays with Virgin Limited Edition, gifts and experiences with Virgin Experience Gifts, and flights with Virgin Atlantic and its partner airlines. The best use of Virgin Points is probably with ANA or Delta One to Europe. Just make sure you are familiar with the program, and see what value you can get, before transferring points.  Once a transfer is done, there’s no going back.
