The Real Housewives of Potomac is back on Bravo for a 9th season. However, the cast has a bit more to poove this time around as many fans were left disappointed by the previous season. Now, Gizelle Bryant is opening up about what fans can expect, the backlash Karen Huger has received for her DUI, the newbies, and much more.

Of course, season 9 of RHOP is a bit different because a few faces are missing. Notably, Robyn Dixon is no longer on the show, following years of some viewers hoping she’d be fired. Candiace Dillard Basset, who trended the night RHOP returned, is also absent. Additionally, Nneka Ihim was fired after only one season.

Recently, Gizelle sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She was first asked about how she approached season 9 of RHOP following a disappointing season 8.

Gizelle says, “I think my approach is always the same. I’m just gon’ do me, be me, and but I was very much aware of trying to get the group together and trying to make sure that the group can work things out.”

She goes on, “The hatitude party, for me, was like I’m going to see where we can go as a group, and we made it through the finish line.”

The topic of Robyn’s absence and how it impacted her this time around also came up. Gizelle responds, “I tried not to think about it, and then I would be in a scene, and I would be like waiting for her to come because Robyn always comes last.”

She then says, “She’s missing, I can say that. She’s like the missing component. And even there were times that Karen would look at me and say, ‘I miss Robyn,’ and I’m like, ‘I know.’ Robyn was always like the stedying, balancing force here.”

Gizelle also said that she talked to Robyn as filming was happening and even vented to her about the drama. She also said she hopes her green-eyed bandit pal makes a return for season 10.

The conversation then goes to fans giving Wendy Osefoheat” when they saw the clip of their sitdown in the trailer. Gizelle says she didn’t know fans were upset.

She explains, “I didn’t know that was happening, so that’s interesting. It was both sides. There’s no second chance, no third chance here like she’s been wrong, I’ve been wrong.”

She continues, “I really just wanted to sit down with her and figure it out, and if after that it didn’t work, it didn’t work, so let’s just figure it out.”

The interviewer then asked Gizelle about the GNA event and if she regrets kicking her castmates out for being late. She says, “Absolutely not. If it was tomorrow, I would do it again.”

Gizelle goes on, “You all RSVPed to my event just like Vivian did. She RSVPed, and she said she was coming, so she came. Also, all of those ladies knew how important this was to me. I can say yes to all of the different little organizations that wanna honor me; I can be honored all day long, every day for the next six months. But, you know, that’s actually not important. They just want you to show up, right?”

She continues, “And everybody knew that’s what was going on with Karen, but ya’ll choose to do that instead of just honoring your commitment to me. So yeah, get out, ladies.”

They also noted in the interview that Karen’s event didn’t have any cameras from productions, which means it was much more of a last-minute decision, while Gizelle’s event had been planned further in advance.

They also talked about the newbies and how they faired this season.

According to Gizelle, “There was some struggling, and I’ll let you guys see that you know, let that play out. Stacey is like a newbie newbie, she was like, kinda like a Katie version. You know, Katie’s very quirky. She’s different. We need somebody different; we don’t just need another Gizelle or another Karen.

Naturally, they discuss Gizelle’s relationship with Karen. Specifically, Gizelle is asked about how Karen is handling her DUI compared to how Shannon Beador discussed hers on RHOC

Gizelle explains, “I don’t think the comparisons to Shannon are fair just because I think Shannon’s case was like open and shut. In Karen’s defense, her case is still ongoing. So, I think she felt like, ‘Hey, I can’t really talk about it if this is going to hurt my case, so I understand that, but you have to say something.”

She continues, “You can’t just let it fly in the atmosphere. You gotta say something.”

Of course, Gizelle recently filmed the dating show Love Hotel for Peacock in Mexico with Shannon. The interviewer asks Gizelle about Joel Kim Booster‘s comments about her co-star.

According to Gizelle, “You know, a lot went down in Mexico, and you guys are absolutely going to eat up and devour that show. Ya’ll are going to love it. There’s that. And Joel was around, and I just, listen, after Joel did what he did, he did text me, and he apologized before he apologized to Shannon via the world, and I told him, ‘why, just why,’ on so many levels. It just wasn’t necessary. What happened?”

She then says, “I think he just lost his mind one night, and, you know, you just can’t do that. You can’t talk about the show, and for the love of God, you can’t talk about people’s children.”

About being an empty nester, Gizelle says, “Truth be told, I spent one of those months in a love bubble in Mexico, so there was that, but here lately, I’m actually kind of enjoying it a little bit. I never thought I would say that. I walk around the house naked; I never go to the grocery store anymore; I hate that place. I wake up whenever I feel like it or not, so empty nesting has been good for me.”

They also discuss the clip posted online of NeNe Leakes telling Karen to beat up Gizelle. Gizelle responds, “It was so weird to me. So crazy. I gotta ask Karen about it. But like it was a little strange, and because I don’t have an issue with NeNe I thought she didn’t have one with me. Very weird.”

In the end, Gizelle teases “a season finale that tops, I can safely say, all season finales for all Real Housewives franchises.

The Real Housewives of Potomac is here, and the cast members are all doing press amid the new season. Of course, they have much to prove, as many fans left season 8 feeling a bit underwhelmed. Now, Wendy Osefo is opening up about what viewers can expect, her friendship with Gizelle Bryant, and how the cast shakeup makes the show work.

Fans will recall that there are a few people missing from the show for season 9. Robyn Dixon announced that she was fired and Candiace Dillard-Bassett let fans know she wouldn’t be returning before the reunion even aired. Additionally, Nneka Ihim won’t be here this season following her first year on the show.

Recently, Wendy sat down for an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Naturally, the RHOP star had quite a bit to say. She first talked about the changing dynamics and how it made her feel when they started filming.

According to Wendy, “Stepping into this season, I was like ‘Woah. what is this going to look like?’ After the first two cast interactions, I was like, ‘I know what this is gonna look like.’”

She goes on, “It was different. It was like new energy. It was different personalities that I had not even encountered in my own personal life. I was intrigued. I was left with questions, but overall, it was fun. I had fun this season.”

Wendy then talks about keeping in touch with Candiace. She says, “It’s interesting. She reached out to me recently, and she asked for recommendations for breast pumps because when I was on the show, one thing she always said was that my breast pump was so loud and it would lull her to sleep.”

They then talk about fans being confused by her friendship with Gizelle based on what they saw in the trailer. However, Wendy explains, “That’s not where it started and I’m really excited for viewers to see the journey and to see the progression, and to see who extended the olive branch. It’s gonna throw you for a little loop.”

The interviewer also asked Wendy what she had to say to people who believed she had always wanted Gizelle’s approval.

“I don’t have a message to them because that means they wanted to think that anyway. If you can watch this season with that evidence laid out in front of you to see that that’s not what actually happened, then I think that you just want the situation to be a certain type of way.”

Wendy also discusses resigning from teaching for the time being. When asked how the transition has been, she says, “It’s interesting because I did[have FOMO], and it was particularly for the institution I was working at. I have been there for so long. I know their policies and procedures; they just became natural to me.”

She continues, “But I wanted to challenge myself. I gave myself the summer off. I haven’t had a summer off from teaching in years, and it felt so good just to travel and be with my family. So, even though it was a hard decision, I enjoyed it.”

The topic of Wendy going to the White House also comes up. She says of the experience, “We went all the way to 1600 Pensavalaina Ave, baby. What a moment for me, what a moment for my show and what really stuck out to me was that the conversation was initiated by the White House. To me, that was a testament to me often feeling in my career that I’m not where I want to be or I haven’t done anything.”

They also talked about the cast changes and how she feels about Keiarna Stewart being promoted to a housewife. She says, “I am so happy for her. She is deserving of it and I’m so excited for you guys to get to know her more. Get to see more of her personal life, her business, and her entrepreneurial spirit. I just think she’s such a great addition.”

Of course, they also discussed Karen Huger‘s car wreck and DUI, as it will be a focal point of the season. According to Wendy, “It is a very tough walk, and I believe you have to navigate it the way you know how to best. So, I think some viewers may like the way she responded to it, but, you know, everyone has their own opinions. Others may be like they don’t like it, but it’s Karen’s story, and it’s Karen’s story to tell.”

Ashley Darby also comes up as the RHOP season 9 trailer shows her and Wendy getting into it. Regarding Ashley, Wendy says, “She is the same messy Ashley, okay. So, it is what it is. Nothing has changed with that one.”

Wendy describes season 9 of the show by saying, “Refresh. It’s let’s give this a go again, but with a clean slate. That’s what I would tell viewers. I would tell viewers to come back, watch season 9, do it with a fresh pair of eyes with all of the ladies and you will love it.

As Karen did in a previous interview, Wendy also says fans need to “brace themselves” for a massive blowout that was not in the trailer.

Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac is mere days away, and fans can’t wait to see the ladies back on Bravo. Of course, the new season arrives as Candiace Dillard Basset and Robyn Dixon are both absent. Now, Karen Huger is opening up about the season, what fans can expect, and her DUI.

Fans will recall that Karen was charged with a DUI in March of this year. However, based on the trailer for the upcoming season, it seems she has support from some of her cast mates.

Recently, the “Grand Dame” was on the red carpet and spoke to Extra TV about the upcoming season of RHOP. Regarding the “vibe” of the season, Karen says, “I think it is lighter, to be honest with you. I do miss Candiace and Robyn, you know, those are my girls.”

She and the interviewer then joke that she actually misses throwing shade at Robyn instead of missing her.

Karen goes on, “I’m sure Robyn misses me if she were honest about it. We had great banter in that way, so I do miss that. And Candiace, motherhood looks good on her. I can’t wait for the baby.”

She continues, “So yeah, we’re just evolving and the new girls, they’re special. No, they are fantastic, actually. I do like what they’re bringing. It is fresh. It is new, and I think the viewers are going to be entertained.”

The interviewer goes on to ask Karen about her relationship with Gizelle Bryant this season. He also asked if she is still critiquing her fashions.

She says, “I’m not critiquing her fashions this season to be honest with you. We’re in a better place so I think the viewers will enjoy that. I don’t know how long it’s gonna last that depends on Gizelle because I’m not the messy one, but we are the best frenemies in the franchise. All of the franchises, I would say. And we do know when to lift each other up and support each other. So, that’s a beautiful thing.”

They then talk about the ladies “coming for her.” In particular, the interviewer asked if Ashley Darby was coming after her. She explains, “Ashley and I do dance a minute, but I wouldn’t say so because Ashley and I have a really good relationship. What I think makes us real is that we do have those banters, and then we move on and hug.”

Karen goes on, “I would say we do have one dilapidated pole humper that’s coming after me, and, you know, I don’t know why, but I will handle that, too.”

Of course, it seems she’s talking about Mia Thornton. She continues, “I’ll move on, absolutely. I mean, that’s what it’s about. I introduced her, and I don’t take any responsibility for it.”

The topic of her car accident and DUI then comes up.

According to Karen, “I don’t have a drinking problem, let’s be very clear, but all of us have accidents. So, it’s still being adjudicated, and I can’t talk about it, but I’ll say this: the girls are human, and what makes me the Grand Dame is that I’m able to see who they are in that moment. Everybody likes a little shine from the Dame, so I gave it to them.”

They then discuss her marriage and how it plays out this season. Karen explains, “Ray is fantastic. He’s a handful. We are very real this season. So, everyone’s rooting for the institution, and it makes it, but not without reality. I think that’s one of the reasons I have been successful in reality TV. I don’t change my life for the show. I signed up for reality, so I give it to you.”

  • RHOP Reunion Recap: Mia Accuses Gordon of Emptying Her Account & Being Controlling, Robyn Cries Over Candiace’s Colorist Comments & Wendy Holds a Grudge Against Gizelle, Plus Chris Shuts Down Pregnancy Allegation

RHOP Reunion Recap: Mia Accuses Gordon of Emptying Her Account & Being Controlling, Robyn Cries Over Candiace’s Colorist Comments & Wendy Holds a Grudge Against Gizelle, Plus Chris Shuts Down Pregnancy Allegation

    [ad_1]

On this reunion episode of the Real Housewives of Potomac, a paternity rumor is discussed until Karen puts an end to it out of respect for Mia‘s son. It seems like Candiace is done with the reconciliation conversations when it comes to Gizelle and Robyn, and when the husbands take to the set, it is noticed rather quickly that Juan has declined his invite. But it’s Gordon who leaves us hanging at the end, hinting at some juicy unknown information…

It’s interesting that Mia’s man, Inc, believes that Jeremiah is his son. Yes, the timeline of their affair could put Inc as the father, but Mia explains that she did IUI, so she KNOWS where the baby came from. Mia thinks that maybe Inc just wants Jeremiah to be his kid, and Karen jumps in to ask to move on out of respect for Jeremiah, who will eventually hear about this.

Mia asks Karen when she heard she was with (not a) rapper since Karen was the one who first brought Mia’s love life up. Gordon’s speech at the season finale did not seem as though they were divorcing, and this makes the others in the group raise their eyebrows. Funny how Robyn gets a ton of sh*t for not sharing what she is going through with Juan, yet here’s Mia just going through the motions… allowing Gordon to make a lovely speech about her.

Gizelle wonders if Gordon is mad about finances since perhaps Inc makes more money than him, but Mia explains that Inc has nothing to do with the separation. Mia states that this breakup has been coming based on Gordon’s anger and rash moves like emptying her bank account, forcing control over her. We learn that Gordon is in therapy now and is still not working, therefore Mia is helping him financially. Andy brings up the inheritance comment Mia made. Mia explains that she lost three grandparents and had some money. Mia states that she wished she knew Gordon was in such trouble financially when they got married because he certainly should not have been living that unsustainable lifestyle.

Mia cannot get a divorce until June of this year because they are up for sale in their businesses, and it is pointed out that Wendy and Candiace did not reach out to Mia as the news about her marriage broke. Wendy claims that when Gordon reached out to Eddie and Chris, he was there to “annihilate” Mia. Wendy promises that she has never once said what Gordon has said about Mia, and despite not being her best friend, she loves and respects her enough to stay out of it. Candiace admits that she could have reached out to see how Mia was doing, but she just didn’t want to get involved.

Mia lets us know that she has a penthouse apartment in Washington, D.C., and Gordon is currently living in Charlotte, but he will eventually move across the street from her. It seems like this can one day be a blended family.

After a break, Hotel Gizelle is the next storyline in the spotlight. Gizelle first clears up that she didn’t know Wendy’s mother was in the hospital when she called her evil, but Wendy doesn’t want to hear it. Gizelle’s dad was a great guy, and we got to know him on the show before his passing. Gizelle shares that only her dad supported her to go onto the show and that he always wanted to have a celebration of life when he died (only Robyn was in attendance). Thankfully, Gizelle was there when he took his last breath, and she thanks those who rallied around her.

Candiace breaks down with her cry-angle after hearing Gizelle talk about the loss of her father. She admits that she “feels for” Gizelle, and it proves that Candiace does have some emotion toward Gizelle. Speaking of emotion, Gizelle’s girls are doing great, especially Grace in college. Regarding being afraid for Grace going to school in Florida, Karen states that she is not responsible for Wendy and Candiace’s faces during that discussion. Candiace regrets that Gizelle would weaponize her kids against her, as she has done this before, and Wendy claims that she congratulated Gizelle about Grace going there, but Gizelle repeats over and over that it never happened.

When it comes to Jason, Gizelle is still having fun with him, even after Jason was seen kissing a mystery blonde. Apparently, their “relationship” is not that deep, as Jason and Gizelle can see whoever, so long as it’s not rubbed in each other’s faces, so to speak. Mia sort of outs Gizelle about a new man in her life who might be an athlete, but because the reunion is in NYC, Gizelle will be visiting Jason later.

There’s a lot to discuss with Candiace. She got a second opinion for the lump in her breast, and it turns out that it had shrunk so much that she didn’t have to do anything. The nine-city tour was incredible, and we find out that the reason Candiace didn’t want Drew Sidora opening for her is because of some bad blood.

Michael’s lawsuit against Candiace for defamation was dropped, and Ashley continues to claim that she did not know anything about this case, nor did she stand to get any financial gain from it. Candiace gets called out for internet behavior, and Robyn feels like Candiace’s tweets and articles were hypocritical. Candiace jumps in and clarifies the timeline. Those tweets were right after last year’s reunion. Candiace talks about the two messages Robyn ignored from her, so when the stuff came out about Robyn and the pay wall, Candiace snapped. She apologizes for hurting Robyn, and Robyn talks about how uncomfortable the colorism conversation was for her. Robyn states that she didn’t know how to navigate it since she never experienced that in her life. Robyn becomes so upset that she was accused of being a colorist, and then all of the stuff with Juan came out and everyone talked about that.

Candiace explains that talking about race and color is commonplace for HER, and she assumed that all of the women thought that way also. A clip was played showing that Candiace said, “I don’t believe any of my castmates are colorists,” and Wendy wonders when the conversation would shift and why they believe the phenomena exists. Karen says there’s no better group of Black women to represent, but Wendy wants to talk about the range. Nneka is out of the loop and tries to get filled in, but Andy interjects, understanding that there is nowhere this friendship can go.

During a break, Nneka talks about trying to be really good about staying quiet on social media, so she is looking forward to having her time on the reunion. The husbands enter, minus Juan, and Iyke is decked to the nines. Happy Eddie explains that his business is going well, and we learn what Mia meant when she said she was the “other girl” on guys’ trips. She explains that she has seen the girlfriend side of things, and the wife side of things…

Chris wasn’t around a lot this season (by design), and Candiace explains that it’s because he’s uncomfortable around the group of women. Chris is tired of talking about it, and since the reunion, he is over it. The rumors have been reckless and wild, especially from a woman who claimed to have had an affair with Chris, said she had an abortion, and then said she made the whole thing up. Kind of fishy, and it leaves you wondering if Candiace paid the lady off due to the quick retraction. Robyn asks if this strange woman whom Chris swears he has never met photoshopped screenshots, and Candiace says that she is so distrusting of the group and wouldn’t put it past Gizelle for making this whole thing up. Chris shuts Gizelle down, and jaws drop on the couches.

Juan’s absence speaks volumes, but the husbands make no comment when asked how they feel about it. Andy wonders why it’s important they come to support their wives, and Gordon states that he was coming to support his wife (well, soon-to-be-ex-wife). Gordon says he looks forward to addressing his relationship, and then goes on to say, “I wanna share something with you that some of you may have suspected, but many of you probably don’t know…” *to be continued*

Monique Samuels Responds to Fans Asking Her to Return to RHOP After Candiace’s Exit From Show, See Her Post

The reunion for The Real Housewives of Potomac hasn’t even aired yet, and there’s already major casting news.

It has been confirmed that Candiace Dillard Bassett will not be returning for season 9. After the announcement, many RHOP fans felt that Monique Samuels could return now that Candiace won’t be there.

Fans will recall that Monique and Candiace don’t get along. They even had a pretty big altercation on the show, which is one of the reasons Monique left. Since Housewives, Monique starred on Love and Marriage: DC for a short while. Now, she hosts a morning radio show and still has her essential oil line.

Fast-forward to now, and Monique is making no secret of the fact that she does not want to return to RHOP. After the news of Candiace leaving the show came out, she took to Instagram to post a selfie that contained the caption, “Nope! Don’t ask.” It became clear to fans what she meant by that. She also included a link to where people can hear her on the radio.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Monique has been candid about not wanting to do reality TV. As mentioned, she briefly starred in Carlos King’s Love and Marriage: DC on the OWN network. However, she discussed how hesitant she was to do the show and how she had PTSD from reality TV. It wasn’t long before it was announced that she was leaving the show.

Monique has also previously said that she turned down doing Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip because she didn’t want the toxicity and because she feels like a different person than people are expecting.

Of course, Monique’s life has also changed since leaving RHOP. She and Chris divorced in 2023. Though fans may never see Monique on reality TV again, it seems she stays active on social media.

Bless This Mess: #RHOP Reunion Preview Shows Candiace Bassett Defending Her Husband From The GEBS, Again

    [ad_1]

Candiace Dillard Bassett may be leaving #RHOP behind, but not before Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon fuel an NSFW rumor about her husband, Chris Bassett.

    Source: Clifton Prescod / Bravo

A preview for what will be Candiace’s last #RHOP reunion shows the green-eyed girl gang inflating a rumor about Chris’ alleged mistress and NSFW photos despite the woman in question confirming that she fabricated the entire thing.

The “Drive Back” singer says her social media “bad-mouthing” of Gizelle is a natural response to ongoing mud slung her way.

“It’s no different than her going on her podcast and talking about me laughing and joking and adding sauce to a rumor.”

The latest rumor involved her husband sending a photo of his man parts. They claim a woman from his alleged affair received the spicy selfies. Of course, Robyn never lets Gizelle fight her own battles and couldn’t resist getting involved in the conversation, saying

“So the screenshots are photoshopped? The screenshots of your husband’s limp penis and the multiple voice memos they have exchanged back and forth?”

Fans of the show will remember the season-long debate over whether Chris made Gizelle uncomfortable by inviting her to have a private conversation during the season six reunion taping. Candiace accused both of the fair-skinned falsifiers of trying to purposely malign her husband’s reputation while holding back details of their own lives.

The outcome has been constant back-and-forth shade from the three castmates. It even resulted in the end of a longstanding friendship between Robyn and Candiace. It does not seem the two ladies have been able to find common ground, even in the aftermath.

Nevertheless, the green-eyed bandits will have to find another subject of their villainy without Candiace. Not only will Gizelle not have the former pageant queen to blame for everything, but her partner in grime, Robyn, is also rumored to be departing.

It’s unclear who will either upgrade to a full-time member of the cast or join as a fresh face to spice things up. #RHOP desperately needs some fresh blood.

    It’s on you now, Andy.

Mia Thornton is seen discussing her son Jeremiah’s paternity in the just-released trailer for the upcoming Real Housewives of Potomac reunion.

As a number of her castmates go head-to-head, including Nneka Ihim, 36, and Wendy Osefo, 39, and Candiace Dillard-Bassett, 37, and Gizelle Bryant, 53, Mia admitted that her current boyfriend, Incognito, whom she dated prior to her marriage to Gordon Thorton, 71, suspected the child was his as Gordon arrived on set and Ashley Darby, 35, admitted to massaging her former spouse’s feet on a nightly basis.

“Andy, I believe in these women and I expect nothing less tonight,” Karen Huger, 60, declares as the trailer begins.

And before things get serious, Mia clarifies her new boyfriend isn’t a DJ but a “radio personality,” and Ashley admits she “still [loves]” Michael Darby, 64.

“I still massage this man’s feet every night …. I massage Michael’s feet every night,” she shares.

Andy Cohen, 55, then offers his condolences to Gizelle, whose father recently passed.

“I was there with him when he took his last breath,” she reveals through tears.

The cameras then turn to Nneka, who tells Wendy, “You iced me out of this group.”

“I told you what I told you in our language,” Wendy replies, in the Nigerian Igbo language, proceeding to ask, in English, “You understand what I’m saying?”

During another moment, Gordon prepares to reveal something that makes Mia tear up.

“I want to share something with you that some of you may have suspected,” he begins.

“Oh, Mia, I’m sorry,” someone says in response.

Another shocking moment comes when Robyn Dixon, 44, suggests racy pics of Chris Bassett have surfaced online.

“So the screenshots of your husband’s limp penis are photoshopped?” she asks Candiace.

Next, Wendy approaches Ashley, telling her castmate, “If you knew how taboo it is, you would not say anything else.”

    “And I have,” Ashley replies.

As for Mia’s comments about her son, she admitted that Incognito remains suspicious after Andy brings up a rumor stated by Gordon.

“Gordon alleged that Jeremiah may not be his son. Does Inc think Jeremiah is his son?” Andy wonders.

    “He does,” Mia confirms.

Later, after Candiace tells someone they’re a “loser,” Gizelle mocks her online attacks.

“Gizelle is an empath, Gizelle’s the devil, Gizelle is evil,” she states.

    “All true,” Candiace notes.

As the sneak peek concludes, Andy tells Candiace and Gizelle, “I think the two of you need Jesus himself.”

“I have him. He is right here,” Candiace fires back.

  • Candiace Dillard Shuts Down Claim She’s Leaving RHOP as Reunion Seating Chart is Revealed

Candiace Dillard Shuts Down Claim She’s Leaving RHOP as Reunion Seating Chart is Revealed

This season of The Real Housewives of Potomac is coming to a close, and the upcoming reunion is said to be spicy.

However, there have been talks recently about Candiace Dillard Bassett‘s future on the show, as some feel she’s being iced out. Now, she’s addressing her future plans. Plus, the reunion seating chart has been released.

Of course, Candiace is a very busy person outside of RHOP. Not only is she a successful actress, but she’s also pursuing her music and seems to be on an upward trend.

Recently, she took to X to share an interview she did with Page Six. In the interview, Candiace was asked if she might leave the show in the future to fully focus on music. She says, “In life, if you don’t always have a plan, what are you doing?” She continues, “There is definitely a plan.”

However, she also points out how much she enjoys doing the show and how the people involved have supported her and even helped promote her music.

“I’m so, so, so grateful for the platform that I’ve been given with Bravo. They have supported me immensely with my music career, with my acting career, with just my love for wanting to express myself as an artist.”

However, she also says, “All good things must come to an end.”

Candiace then discusses how she would like to leave the show and draws comparisons to Kandi from RHOA

She says, “Shoutout to Kandi Burruss, who … [has] always been a hero for me. I just love that she’s made this clean, beautiful, peaceful exit – or break, as she put it — just because she’s so wrapped up in all of these successful endeavors, including music, theater, entrepreneurship.”

She then says, “I would love to someday take a page out of her book.”

After the interview stirred up rumors that Candiace might be gearing up to leave the RHOP, she shut down those claims on X.

Interesting headline. I’m not dropping any hints. Nor am I sending any subliminals. I haven’t been fired (yet, lol) nor have I said I was quitting. We are all replaceable (even you, beloved). I have always lived my life under this adage and I’ll be here till I ain’t! ” wrote Candiace.

Regarding this season, Bravo recently unveiled the official seating chart. Of course, this came after the photo leaked online. There has been significant talk about it, as Gizelle isn’t sitting next to Andy this year. Instead, Mia has taken her place. Of course, Karen is seated in the first chair on the opposite side.

The seating arrangement has people wondering if this is a reflection of Gizelle’s performance this season. As some fans know, it is widely believed among fans and many housewives that the seating chart is dictated by which cast members were most important during the season.

‘RHOP’ Star Gizelle Bryant Reacts to Jason Cameron Being Spotted With Another Woman, Shades Candiace as “Obsessed,” and Talks Cast’s “Nasty” Antics Involving Daughter, Plus Mia’s Inheritance Claim and Larsa and Marcus

Gizelle Bryant appeared on Sunday’s Watch What Happens Live, where she reacted to Jason Cameron being spotted with another woman and offered an update on their current status.

While also discussing what she claims is Candiace Dillard-Bassett‘s obsession with her, the cast’s rude reaction to her discussion about her daughter’s college, and Mia Thornton‘s suggestion that she has an inheritance, the Real Housewives of Potomac cast member, 53, spoke of her drama with Karen Huger, 60, and reacted to the alleged brief breakup of Larsa Pippen, 49, and Marcus Jordan, 33.

“Jason, because it’s a situationship, Jason is free to situation,” Gizelle shared on the February 25 episode of WWHL after being asked about Jason’s recent outing with the other woman.

After then confirming that she is also allowed to see other people, Gizelle revealed Jason was actually with her in the Bravo Clubhouse for the taping.

“[He] is here. He’s in my dressing room,” she stated.

Looking back at her decision to crown Nneka Ihim as the “grand dame,” which prompted Candiace, 37, to label her “Satan,” Gizelle admitted she “absolutely” did so solely to get under Karen’s skin before labeling Candiace “obsessed.”

“I kind of feel like she’s obsessed with me. She’s on Twitter week after week after week after week talking about me. It’s really weird,” Gizelle explained. “I think she was mad that the crowning had nothing to do with her. I think she wanted to be a part of it.”

When Gizelle was then asked why didn’t she confront Candiace and Wendy Osefo, 39, for making faces when she was talking about her daughter going to college in Florida, Gizelle said she was “trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.”

“I was like, ’There’s no way y’all can be this nasty when I’m talking about my daughter.’ So I was really just trying to ignore it,” she reasoned.

As for whether anyone spoke to Gordon Thornton about Mia, 39, saying she has an inheritance and that Gordon didn’t have a lot of money when they met at a strip club, Gizelle teased that the topic will be addressed at the upcoming reunion.

“I do not believe Mia but I think that’s what the reunion is for because Gordon will be there. I’ll be asking,” she assured.

After then noting that Nneka and Wendy’s ongoing issues were “very sad,” Gizelle was asked if Karen overreacted to her room situation in the Dominican Republic.

“They charged Karen’s card. They did. And she was pissed,” she revealed. “But then she said ’Send me my money back.’”

Also on the episode, Gizelle shared her thoughts on Larsa’s supposed split from Marcus, which lasted for just a few days.

“Well, you know, [Alexia Echevarria] and [Marysol Patton] said it was all fake. They said it was a fake breakup. It’s kind of believable,” Gizelle admitted.

  • RHOP’s Candiace Dillard Discusses Michael Darby’s Lawsuit Against Her, Chris Cheating Rumors

RHOP’s Candiace Dillard Discusses Michael Darby’s Lawsuit Against Her, Chris Cheating Rumors

    [ad_1]

Candiace Dillard-Bassett is speaking out against Michael Darby amid his $2 million lawsuit against her.

While also addressing the recent cheating rumors made against her husband, Chris Bassett, and calling out Robyn Dixon, 45, for betraying Bravo and the Real Housewives of Potomac cast, Candiace, 37, slammed Michael’s lawsuit as “gross” as she spoke of Ashley Darby‘s potential involvement — and her castmate’s daddy issues.

“There is a lawsuit. I can speak on him I just chose not to. He’s not worth it. It’s really gross,” Candiace stated on the January 22 episode of Way Up With Angela Yee of the case Michael filed against her after she suggested he’d offered to pay another man for sex.

As for what Ashley, 35, knows of her estranged husband‘s lawsuit, Candiace said she’s “hands-off.”

“She says to me that she knows nothing about it. They don’t talk about it. And I believe her, only because the Ashley that I know, if she had information, she’d be going to the rooftops. She would be talking about it and so she’s not. So I believe she’s not privy to most, or any of what’s happening,” Candiace explained.

Candiace was then asked why Ashley’s divorce from Michael had been so drawn out.

“She’s admitted to having daddy issues. I think her husband was someone who came into her life at a time when she needed to be rescued and needed to feel like this is a man who is going to fill a void that my father left and that can be a very tough bond to break,” Candiace noted. “He essentially saved her and put her in a position to be successful and that can be difficult. That’s a difficult tie to break, and then they have children together now.”

“I don’t say this in a shady way, but he sort of raised her up and helped her become a woman, so I get her having hesitation in breaking that bond,” she added. “I get it, but I am also really rooting for her to run.”

Last year, ahead of the RHOP season eight premiere, Candiace found her name in the headlines as Chris was accused of cheating on her — and getting another woman pregnant. But weeks later, the woman accuser confirmed she’d made the entire story up.

Looking back, Candiace said she can see how someone who isn’t in her situation would wonder if she considered the claims could be true.

“It was just so preposterous because I know my husband. I have to beg him to leave the house and go downtown to D.C. to take me to dinner,” she revealed. “He’s a homebody. You mean to tell me this man got on a flight and flew to wherever this lady was to repeatedly have sexy time with her and get her pregnant? There were just so many preposterous bullet points that made it untrue. I know where Chris is all the time because we’re constantly talking … It just is not something that he would do … It was almost laughable. It really was.”

Even Candiace’s mom Dorothy, who has had her fair share of drama with Chris in the past, knew Chris was innocent.

“She was angry. She was like, ‘Who is this beep, bleep, bleep? These people are crazy just lying on Chris,’” Candiace shared. “She knows Chris’ character. She knows he is a good person and so does everyone.”

Although Candiace confirmed that she thought about suing the woman for defamation for “a second,” she and Chris are “not litigious people” and didn’t want to disturb their peace.

“We can just pray about it and know that God is covering us and it will pass,” she reasoned.

As RHOP fans well know, a number of cast members have been targeted with cheating rumors over the years, including Robyn’s husband, Juan Dixon, 45. However, rather than discuss the topic, as she did when other parties were involved, Robyn chose to keep her marital turmoil private.

“You are paid a lot of money to talk about your life on this show, and you watched your friend [Gizelle Bryant] drag my husband through the mud for a lie, and you had a real situation going on,” Candiace said.

Because Candiace also tweeted about the matter, Robyn took issue with her, which Candiace found “[strange].”

“You’re choosing to really zero in on my Twitter op-ed, my opinion. There was no emotion. I wasn’t angry or upset. I was stating facts,” Candiace clarified. “[And] I stand by what I said … I said it to her face. It’s not something I feel like I was sneaking and stabbing her in her back. I said what the world was saying. I said what the entire cast was saying.”

According to Candiace, she feels that Robyn is using her Twitter postings as an excuse.

“I just feel like she’s using it as a way to distract from the issue, which is that you betrayed your cast,” Candiace revealed. “You betrayed the people that pay you to talk about your life … Everybody was [upset with her]. Her bosses that sign her checks were upset with her. Everybody was pissed.”

Although Candiace doesn’t agree with Robyn’s handling of the situation, she confirmed she does not believe she should be fired.

“Even in the face of the cast and the audience for years saying, ‘Robyn should be fired. She’s boring. She shouldn’t be here,’ I’ve always maintained that Robyn was valuable to our cast. You can’t have seven Candiaces. You can’t have seven Karen Hugers. You need diversity and Robyn was that person that could be the go-between all of us,” Candiace pointed out. “She was often the most level-headed, often the one that could break the ice and bring people together and that’s valuable on a cast of seven, eight, dynamic, super opinionated women.”

As for her chat with their boss Andy Cohen, 55, Candiace said she mentioned Robyn coming clean behind a paywall because she was curious.

“I was simply going to him to say, ‘What do you think about this? Here are my thoughts about it,’” she stated.

  • ‘Real Housewives’ Star Candiace Dillard Bassett On Shakeups In ‘Potomac’

‘Real Housewives’ Star Candiace Dillard Bassett On Shakeups In ‘Potomac’

    [ad_1]

For some of us, the seventh season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” which concluded on Sunday, was not as enjoyable as the seasons before it for a few reasons.

A lot of the cast was lying — about other people’s husbands, about what’s going on in their actual lives — and when they weren’t spreading lies, the way some of the housewives were treated prompted accusations of colorism, recalling the ills of the show’s boring and elitist inaugural season.

But even if this season wasn’t as enjoyable as some others, there were some bright spots.

For a lot of viewers, that was largely due to Candiace Dillard Bassett, who not only broke down the fourth wall to combat some of the aforementioned shenanigans but also managed to make viewers laugh in spite of the misery around her.

Meanwhile, Dillard Bassett has been keeping busy — beyond defending her husband against Gizelle Bryant. The singer-actor recently released the deluxe version of her debut album, “Deep Space,” is serving as the opening act for Faith Evans, Mya, 702 and SWV, and stars in the drama series “Hush,” which airs on AMC Networks’ ALLBLK.

While shooting a film in Atlanta before heading back on tour, Dillard Bassett made time to hear me air my grievances about Season 7 of “RHOP” and shared what she hopes happens in Season 8. She also confirmed that no matter what’s been said about her or her husband, she’s staying on “Potomac” for as long as it serves its purpose.

We’re speaking on the eve of the third installment of the reunion, but no matter what airs tomorrow, the show has disappointed me. I’ve enjoyed parts of it — mainly, watching you dive more into your music career and take more serious steps toward planning for motherhood — but overall, I haven’t been as turned off since the first season.

You said in a separate interview: “I honestly think that some of us have run out of things to talk about,” which I think nails it, along with some of your co-workers refusing to talk about what’s actually happening in their lives. Instead, we got a lot of accusations and lies between people who don’t seem to really like each other.

You’re not in control of the direction of the show, but where do you hope it will go next season?

Oh, gosh, that’s a loaded question.

I’ll say this: The optimist in me would love to see a world where we can come back together as a group because, as it stands currently, we are a broken group. We are broken more so than I feel like we’ve probably ever been as a group. There is no way around that.

And it’s very scary because you can’t have a show without a group of girlfriends who are willing to share their lives honestly and openly and participate in the premise of the show, which is about a group of affluent women sharing their lives and their friendships. So I would hope that there is a world where we can come back together, but I don’t know what that looks like.

Who on the show at this point do you consider to be a genuine friend?

Well, I’m always my own friend first, but aside from that, you know, I have found loyalty and friendship in Wendy [Osefo].

I feel like Wendy kind of got a bad rap at the beginning of her time on the show, and I think a lot of it had to do with her not being open. And I have really enjoyed kind of watching her in real life and on the show open up and really be vulnerable and show us Wendy. She’s shown us more of who she really is, and I’ve appreciated that as someone who is vulnerable to a fault. I look for that in my friends, so I can honestly say that I’m happy that I’ve found that in her and Karen — though we’ve had our situationship.

I still have so much love for Karen. I think in spite of it all, I see Karen’s heart and I understand her as a person. Aside from myself, I would say Karen is probably one of the most consistent people on our show, and I can appreciate and love her for that. And she’s always tried, with the exception of maybe once or twice, to be a good friend to me.

Those are the two people that I communicate with the most.

(Left to right) Wendy Osefo, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Ray Huger, Karen Huger.

I don’t want at least half your cast on the show anymore, but I know you don’t advocate for anyone losing their jobs. Inflation and unemployment being a terrible combination aside, do you think new energy could help the show?

I’m always open to having new people come into the fold.

I think, and you know — if you look back at the history of these “Housewives” franchises, we’re entering into Season 8 of this show, [and] by Season 8, there are shakeups. A lot of times, it can be difficult for the ones who’ve maybe been there from the beginning to continue to give of themselves in the same way if they’ve given it all, and you just maybe need a break or just a changing of the guard, if you will.

And we are hopefully gonna be entering into our eighth season. That’s almost a decade of “Potomac,” which is incredible and admirable and something to be proud of. But I do think that there’s a precedent that’s already been set that says, if you’re not able to give what needs to be given when it’s time to give, then you need to give yourself an exit and allow others to be ushered in so that you can just have new blood. And there’s just something interesting for an audience and for us about getting to know someone new and bringing someone new into the fold.

Blink twice if your back is OK from carrying this whole season.

Oh, gosh. My back is fine. [Laughs.]

I know there was a big deal made about you breaking the fourth wall on the show this season during that scene with Gizelle, but I was curious if you found that to be a bit antiquated because some reality franchises have long embraced that they are indeed filming a television show and it hasn’t damaged the show in any way.

For me, it wasn’t about creating a moment. It was about right. I don’t know about other shows, but on our show, we break the fourth wall all the time. I’m always looking right into the camera and talking shit, or, you know, just looking into the camera to be silly.

There was an episode of ”[Real Housewives of] Atlanta” last year, I think, where they were at somebody’s house and Kenya was super drunk, and she’s like twirling in the camera, I’m so fabulous. I thought it was hilarious, and I love that they showed that. I just think it has to make sense.

There have been other times on my show, like two seasons ago, my mom said something to me, she was like, cussing me out or something, and I looked right into the camera, said, “Did you get that?” Like a quick moment? Everyone says, “Candiace is so disrespectful, and she da da da da da da. OK. But did you hear what my mama said? OK. All right.”

But for this, whether it was right or not, I appreciated that all of the fourth-wall moments were shown — especially because the people who were orchestrating the fake stories just would never expect that to be the case. Like, she went back into the room after she dropped her rehearsed bomb with a smile on her face as if what had transpired in that dance studio was not going to be discussed. Because I did look right into the camera and say, “What is happening?” And then I got up and started screaming for our executive producer, Eric, and all of that. And that’s the gag for me [because it’s like], “Oh dear heart, you thought and you were incorrect.”

That makes me wonder if you get tired of some of your co-workers acting more like producers than cast members.

Everybody has a role, and I think our show would run more smoothly if everyone just stayed in their lane. You can’t reach for the stars when you don’t have the bandwidth. You don’t have what it takes.

From what I saw on Twitter, you seem pleased with how the colorism segment on Part 2 of the reunion went. Am I characterizing that correctly?

I was appreciative that we were given a platform, however large or small, to begin the conversation in a constructive way, because we had not before had that opportunity. Because it’s also easy for them to just say, “Eh, we’re good. We don’t even need to address [it]. It’s fine.” But just from those two minutes — the amount of dialogue that has ensued, the amount of emails and gems and threads from here to Mexico that I have read — I think that was the goal.

Being a Mary J. Blige stan, when I saw that you were on the show recording with Chucky Thompson, I knew you were taking your music ambitions seriously. Much as I love the bops from Real Housewives like Countess Luann, I understand why there are skeptics out there, but at the same time, we’ve seen reality TV launch a lot of careers — particularly Black female R&B singers. Did you know there was space for a Real Housewife to be serious and be taken seriously?

1001%. So I’ve talked about this before: I prayed about the opportunity to have this platform. I knew the trajectory I wanted to take and I knew that, having watched and grown up watching reality TV, if positioned the right way, I could use this platform to do all the things that I wanted to do.

So in my prayer, I said, “Lord, if you give me this platform, I promise to try and use this to glorify your name and make something of myself and accomplish the goals that you have said that I’m supposed to accomplish and the things I’m supposed to have.”

I’m not perfect, but I have done that. It was always the plan.

You have mentioned having a plan when it comes to using “Real Housewives” as a jumping point for other opportunities in the entertainment industry — including knowing when might be the right time to leave. I’m not going to ask you to share specifically about your timeline, but I am curious to know if this past season and how it impacted your husband has influenced your timetable on a potential exit in any way.

No, because for me and for my husband, one thing that you will never do is run us off. Right? If I’m fired, then OK, that’s outta my control. But when it is time to go, it’ll be time to go because myself and my family have made the conscious decision to say, as you said, we are no longer served [by] being here. Or it’s just time for a shift. Because I’m eternally grateful for the way this platform has helped me to elevate myself and has allowed me to be who I am in these spaces. I would hope to be able to leave on great terms, and if I wanted to pop back in and say “Hey,” I would like to be able to do that.

I plan a lot of things on the grander scale. Like, NBCUniversal is a wonderful home, and there are a lot of great things that can be done at that home. So it was more so, how are we going to attack this issue in the most diplomatic way, but also in a way that is beneficial to us in every way possible mentally, physically, emotionally, as it relates to our careers? How are we going to handle this and rise to the occasion of the challenge?
