    Though Candace Cameron Bure has always been open and vulnerable with her fans, some things just aren’t worth the hassle of social media responses, she declared.

    On Saturday, the “Full House” alum, 49, explained why she decided to delete a photo of herself in a bathing suit after one fan asked her why she removed it from her Instagram. 

    “Yes. I was at the beach. I was in a one piece, not a bikini. I am soaking up the end of summer,” Bure wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I was having fun. It wasn’t about my bathing suit or my body. But the comments became flooded with people discussing my body. It wasn’t worth it. I took it down.”

    During an episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast” in April, Bure opened up about her personal battle with body image and explained how her faith has helped her find “a whole new perspective” on how she views herself.  

    “I’ve whipped my body,” an emotional Bure told podcast guests Allie Schnacky and daughter, Natasha Bure. “I’ve spoken to it so harshly. So mean.”

    Recounting a dream she once had, Bure said a certain Bible verse — Numbers 22 — allowed her to view her body in a different light: 

    “And then God allowed my body to speak back, and my body said back to me, ‘Have I not been the body that’s carried you all the days of your life? Am I not your legs that allow you to walk? Am I not your arms that allow you to pick up and feed yourself?… Why do you hurt me so badly, and why do you talk to me so badly, and why do you treat me this way? I can lift you up … you have to tell me what to do. I’m following your lead.’”

    “And it was like this amazing revelation in my life,” she continued. “And the weirdest story out of the Bible, that God spoke to me about how mean I’ve been to my body. I never saw it that way — it’s this beautiful amazing thing that God gave me.” 

    Bure admitted she now has “a whole different perspective of how I think about my body.”

    “I was so mean to myself … and looking back it breaks my heart. Learning to speak with kindness to my body has been a journey, and I know I’m not alone in this. To those who relate — I hope you can feel me giving you the biggest virtual hug right now. And I hope you’ll join me in showing ourselves the grace and love we truly deserve,” she said.

    This isn’t the first time Bure has opened up about her struggles.

    In 2016, the mom of three detailed the ins and outs of how she developed an eating disorder years ago. 

    “I had a great body image growing up,” Bure said at a panel for #EatingRecoveryDay in New York City, according to People. “My parents were wonderful, and protective of not allowing the entertainment industry to shape me into what they believed a standard of body image of perfection was.”

    “The change of having worked since I was 5 years old to now becoming a wife and soon-to-be mom, and living in a city where I didn’t have family and friends around me, I kind of lost the sense of who I was,” she said.

    In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital in July, Bure got candid about the “scary” way certain fads are reshaping people’s perspectives on body image in Hollywood and explained how her faith has helped her in her own journey of finding and embracing body positivity.

    “It can be scary, although I feel like this younger generation has already had so much more body positivity that I hope they understand that it’s a trend,” Bure said. “I think of my daughter, and she just doesn’t have the same viewpoint of body image that I did growing up, and especially as a child of the ‘80s and ’90s. It’s like mine’s all messed up. I am middle-aged, and I still have all of these thoughts as to the perfect body and this and that, and it’s troubling.”

    “Yet my daughter and her friends and all of that have way less, they don’t think about bodies like that,” she continued. “So I hope that they do understand that it’s a trend. But yeah, it does freak me out. It makes me sad to see everyone suddenly becoming skinny because I think it’s very triggering for a lot of people our age that grew up in the ‘80s and ’90s. It was the ‘Kate Moss era’ and you’re like, ‘Oh, this is what we have to be attractive.’”

    “But we know that’s not true,” she added. “And we also know just to apply it back to biblical principles, that God does not love us more or less dependent upon our weight or our body size or our shape. He doesn’t love us or value us anymore or less depending on how we look. He’s a God of the heart that judges the heart, and it’s all about who we are on the inside. And that is where I will continually go back to. No matter how the culture changes in terms of diet and what fad and what body type is in, I know that God loves me for who I am and my heart and doesn’t pay attention to the exterior and places no value in it whatsoever.”

    Candace Cameron Bure is revealing she “almost died” on the set of Fuller House. And “that’s not an exaggeration,” her co-star Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, confirmed.

    While reminiscing about their “Full House” and “Fuller House” days on their podcast, the “She Wolf sisters” as they call themselves, described a particularly traumatizing day on “Fuller House.” According to the actresses, while filming the spinoff, they got to do most of their own stunts on the show.

    And while that was fun most of the time, one particular day turned dangerous for Cameron Bure, who played DJ Tanner.

    “Do we remember, I will never forget, the day that we were doing the stunt in the living room that had that sliding thing,” Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, began, before Cameron Bure chimed in saying, “The day I almost died?”

    “How could I forget,” she continued. “Yeah, that’s not even an exaggeration,” Barber added. “I still have PTSD over that.”

    That’s when they described how it all went down. “We were doing a stunt,” Sweetin continued, “The stunt was American Ninja Warrior, DJ wanted to do the American Ninja Warrior.”

    And so a zip line was set up through the living room. “As one does,” Sweetin continued.

    “And so I went through the course, and at the end I zip line diagonally the length of the living room,” Cameron Bure explained, “and then I land on platform. But during rehearsal, the rig was not set up correctly and there was no safety stop on the end of it.”

    So when Cameron Bure landed on the platform and stopped, “the whole mechanism” made entirely of heavy metal “slid right off the track and came right next to my head within an inch.”

    When it ultimately missed Cameron Bure, it hit the floor and dented it before breaking the stairs.

    Cameron Bure said Scott Weinger, who played DJ’s boyfriend turned husband Steve Hale, saw the whole thing happen in real time and couldn’t get a word out because it all happened so fast.

    “If I would have shifted my weight the tiniest bit, it probably would have broken my neck,” Cameron Bure says.

    The former “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure, who has long been one of the only openly Christian conservative stars in Hollywood, recently spoke out to blast cancel culture, something that she has frequently been targeted by.

    “I’ve taken punches before in my industry but it was at a level I hadn’t experienced yet, and it’s been very challenging,” said Cameron Bure, 47, according to Fox News. “Cancel culture is very real and they were trying to cancel me.”

    At the end of 2021, Cameron Bure was hit with backlash over comments she made about her new network Great American Family.

    “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” she’d said.

    In her latest interview, Cameron Bure explained that while she wasn’t “shy” or “ashamed” of her Christian faith, the negative attention she got over her comments was difficult for her to deal with.

    “So when I had a lot of these bullets kind of hit me in the last year or so, they’ve been a really big challenge to me personally, to my heart, to my character, to my relationships, to my jobs,” she confessed. “I remember being so upset over it because it’s like, how do you recover?” 

    “I could have bailed and just said, ‘You know what? I’m totally done with this,’ or ‘I don’t want to be a public figure anymore,’” Cameron Bure admitted, adding that she was never trying to stir up controversy with her marriage comments.

    In the end, this experience taught her that anyone in the public eye who stands by their convictions needs to be prepared for criticism in today’s world.

    “You have to be ready for some of those fiery darts to be thrown at you in a bigger public platform,” she said.

    Cameron Bure had previously opened up about her “traditional marriage” controversy in February of last year.

    “It’s difficult. And it’s hard, but listen, I just want to encourage you that you are not the only one and there are lots of us, and we are always stronger together,” Cameron Bure said while appearing on the “Unapologetic with Julia Jeffress Sadler” podcast.

    “It’s hard, no matter what. Especially when you are a compassionate person and you have a heart for people,” she continued. “But it’s important that we speak truth in love, ’cause, listen, nobody’s gonna change, nobody’s gonna listen to you when it comes out angry, when it comes out in a harsh way, but it’s important that we don’t back down.”

    Cameron Bure went on to talk about the importance of her strong Christian faith and knowing where to draw “the line in the sand.”

    “If you know what your boundaries are, that’s the most important,” she explained. “Because if you don’t make them for yourself, the entertainment industry will make them for you. And that’s what you don’t want.”

    Cameron Bure Talks Being A Christian In Hollywood

    Cameron Bure also addressed the fact that she’s one of the only openly conservative Christian actors in Hollywood today. 

    “There are lots of Christians in the entertainment industry,” she said. “Some of them you have to find. Some of them are not as outspoken as others, because of the stigmas that might be around being a Christian in entertainment. But there are lots of us.” 

    God bless Cameron Bure for continuing to show the world that it’s possible to be a good Christian woman and still find success in the crazy world of Hollywood. Here’s hoping that she continues to overcome cancel culture in 2024!

    Great American Family CEO Has Disappointing Response To Candace Cameron Bure Backlash

    The CEO of Great American Family has made an effort to distance the network from Candace Cameron Bure’s controversial claims regarding LGBTQ+ content, but nonetheless stopped short of a complete rebuttal.

    Bure in 2022 left the Hallmark Channel, where she’d appeared in numerous films for more than a decade, to join Great American Family as its chief creative officer. In a November interview with The Wall Street Journal discussing her new position, she said the network’s emphasis on “traditional marriage” meant that viewers shouldn’t expect to see LGBTQ+ storylines in its movies.

    The “Full House” star’s comments were swiftly condemned by fellow actors as well as LGBTQ+ advocacy groups. Speaking to Variety in an interview published Wednesday, Great American Family CEO Bill Abbott emphasized that Bure was “not speaking on behalf of” the network in her Wall Street Journal chat.

    “In terms of her personal views, it’s like the disclaimer you see at the end of a movie or a series that says, ‘The views reflected here are not necessarily those of the company,’” he said.

    But when asked if LGBTQ+ storylines and same-sex relationships would, in fact, be featured on the network, Abbott said that was a “very good and fair question” but nonetheless remained vague.

    “I don’t think when we set out to do any type of movie we cast it first,” he said. “The first thing we think about is a great storyline or great characters or an emotional journey. We’re not seeking to do anything or not do anything, and we take every day as it comes.”

    He went on to note: “We don’t have an agenda either way. It’s not in the faith-and-family playbook to have agendas that are either pro or anti. We want to entertain and inspire and be uplifting and consistently provide an experience that is high quality — that is our most important objective.”

    Whether Abbott’s attempt to clarify his network’s position on LGBTQ+ content will have a lasting impact remains to be seen. Bure, who has been outspoken about her conservative beliefs, has drawn the ire of the LGBTQ+ community on more than one occasion.

    In August, actor Jodie Sweetin ― who co-starred with Bure on “Full House” from 1987 to 1995, as well as the Netflix sequel series “Fuller House” from 2016 to 2020 ― said she was “disappointed” to learn that her new film “Craft Me a Romance” would be broadcast on Great American Family.

    “In keeping with my mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future money made from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations,” she told People in a statement.

    After her Wall Street Journal comments drew backlash, Bure issued an Instagram statement in which she accused the media of using her words to “fan flames of conflict and hate.”

    “I am a devoted Christian,” she wrote at the time. “Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately.”

    Candace Cameron Bure tried to clear the air this week after finding herself embroiled in yet another social media controversy regarding her stance on the LGBTQ community.

    On Thursday, actor Miss Benny shared a video on TikTok in which she reflected on being cast as Casey, a gay character on “Fuller House.”

    Though her “Fuller House” experience was critical in helping her land her current role on Netflix’s “Glamorous,” she said she feared being terminated from the series because “one of the Tanner sisters” was “very publicly not for the girls, if that makes sense.”

    “I remember I got sat down by the writers and the studio to basically warn me how this person allegedly was trying to get the character removed and not have a queer character on the show,” Miss Benny, who reintroduced herself as a transgender woman last month, said.

    She went on to note that she’d been warned that “this person’s fan base might be encouraged to target me specifically.” Later in the clip, she added: It “continuously blows my mind how queer people, specifically queer young adults and queer children, are being targeted and having to advocate for themselves against adults.”

    Though Miss Benny didn’t mention the name of the “Fuller House” actor she may be referring to in the video, she used the hashtag #candacebure in the accompanying caption.

    On Friday, Bure issued a statement to People and other outlets denying the claims, and wished Miss Benny “only the best.”

    “I never asked Miss Benny’s character to be removed from ‘Fuller House’ and did not ask the writers, producers or studio executives to not have queer characters on the show,” said Bure, best known for her portrayal of DJ Tanner on the “Full House” franchise. “‘Fuller House’ has always welcomed a wide range of characters. I thought Miss Benny did a great job as ‘Casey’ on the show. We didn’t share any scenes together, so we didn’t get a chance to talk much while filming on set. I wish Miss Benny only the best.”

    Bure, who has been outspoken about her conservative Christian views, has drawn the ire of the LGBTQ community on more than one occasion.

    A year ago, she was involved in another widely publicized social media dustup with actor and YouTube superstar JoJo Siwa, who is pansexual. Just months later, she faced backlash when she explained her recent move from the Hallmark Channel ― where she has more than two dozen movies to her credit ― to Great American Family, a more conservative network.

    When asked by The Wall Street Journal if viewers can expect the network’s holiday programming to include stories about LGBTQ people, Bure replied: “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

    After the remark was broadly condemned by GLAAD and other advocacy groups, Bure went on the defensive and accused the media of “using this opportunity to fan flames of conflict and hate.”

    “90’s Con always has the best line ups- you may find me at the ‘Clueless’ table when I’m not hanging with my ‘Full House’ family and all the fans!” Bure said of the upcoming occasion. “It’s gonna be all that and a bag of chips!”

    “Hola, Fannerinos!,” she said. “90s Con is all that and a bag of chips! Can’t wait to meet all of the ‘Full House’ fans!”

    This will be the first public outing attended by both Bure and Sweetin following their “pretty serious” dispute after Bure’s controversial “traditional marriage” remarks last year.

    Months after they had a public back and forth, JoJo Siwa is voicing her disappointment with Candace Cameron Bure.

    The singer/dancer, 19, posted on her verified Instagram about Bure after the former “Full House” star talked to the Wall Street Journal about her work with the faith-based channel, Great American Family.

    When asked if the Great American Family will include LGBTQ storylines in their projects, Cameron Bure said, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.”

    Siwa identifies as queer and shared a screen grab of a headline which read, “Candace Cameron Bure’s plans for new cable channel: No gays.”

    “Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press,” Siwa wrote. “This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people.”

    In July Siwa posted a video on TikTok that went viral in which she shared a photo of Cameron Bure as the “rudest celebrity” she had ever met, later revealing she had felt ignored by the star at an event when she was a child and tried to meet her.

    Cameron Bure responded in a video on her verified Instagram account explaining that she was “shocked” by the designation and said everything was “all good” after the pair connected and discussed it.

    Siwa wasn’t the only one upset by Cameron Bure’s recent comment.

    Actress Hilarie Burton slammed her and Bill Abbott, chief executive of Great American Media, for “bigotry.”

    “That guy and his network are disgusting,” Burton tweeted. “You too Candy. There is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples.”

    CNN has reached out to reps for Bure and Great American Media for comment.

    The “One Tree Hill” star took to Twitter on Monday to call out Bure over comments she made about “traditional marriage” amid her move to the Great American Family Network.

    In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Bure was asked whether her new network home would follow The Hallmark Channel in featuring LGBTQ representation and same-sex couples in their programming.

    The 46-year-old said they would not, explaining, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.

    Bill Abbott, chief executive of Great American Media, then clarified,  “It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends. There’s no whiteboard that says, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’ll never go here.’”

    Burton was not having it, though, writing in a tweet that “they’re just openly admitting their bigotry,” and adding, “I called this s**t out when Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him.”

    She also noted that “there is nothing untraditional about same-sex couples.”

    In another tweet, Burton specifically called Bure a “bigot” and said, “I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like Candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You ride that prejudice wave all the way to the bank.”

    Along with being a former host of MTV’s “Total Request Live”, and starring in “One Tree Hill” and “White Collar”, Burton has also appeared in a number of TV, holiday movies, such as 2020’s “Dear Christmas” and 2018’s “The Christmas Contract”.

    Meanwhile, Hallmark is set to debut its first movie solely centred on a same-sex couple, “The Holiday Sitter”, which will premiere Dec. 11 and stars Jonathan Bennett and George Krissa.
