Social media influencer and plus-size fashion Model Remi Bader has launched a new collection for her inclusive-sized collaboration with Revolve. Remi x Revolve features an array of trend-forward, chic pieces that are perfect for this time of year. This drop marks her second collection for the trendy fashion behemoth. Like the first collection, this latest drop is available in sizes XXS-4X—making it one of the most diversely sized collections available to shop through Revolve.
As a fashion editor and plus-size fashion girl, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these pieces to see how they hold up IRL. Keep scrolling to read my thoughts on a festive set from the Remi x Revolve collab, and shop my other favorite styles from Remi x Revolve as well.
Designers imbued romance into the runways with pieces that reinterpreted traditionally feminine shapes, colors, and materials. “Organza, lace, intricate ruffles, and 3D florals all came together to create a new, undone way of dressing that wasn’t overly girly. Instead, designers injected a modern refinement into these ethereal pieces,” Libby Page reports. “It was the balance of modernity and feminine craftsmanship that made this trend so new.”
This trend played out in the S/S 24 collections in a variety of ways, but Net-a-Porter is investing in the trend most heavily with styles ranging from lingerie-inspired dresses, sheer and sequin skirts, and pastels. In fact, Net-a-Porter saw a +125% increase in searches for “pastel dresses” since fashion month compared to previous months—a clear sign that there is an appetite for soft shades that go beyond the runways. The reinvention of Carven under Louise Trotter is particularly noteworthy in this space and a brand to watch.
Whether they come in the form of flat riding styles or sleek stilettos, the majority of the boot trends right now tend to hit at the knee, but that stands to change this fall now that knee-high boots‘ even taller counterparts are back on the menu. The runways for the season are in full agreement here with designers like Khaite and Bottega Veneta adding thigh-high boots to the mix, which only tells me that their popularity is going up from here.
I’m not surprised that the style is gaining momentum, because they make enough of a statement that the rest of the outfit will be smooth sailing. Below, I went through what felt like the entirety of the over-the-knee boot market to pull out the very vest thigh-high boots that rank highest for forward design, customer revies, and comfort.
But with so much great inspiration to be had with this style, I also picked out the standout looks from recent fall/winter 2023 designer collections to prove that over-the-knee boots are here to stay for the foreseeable future. Along with shopping the very best of the trend from top retailers, you’ll be able to glean some outfit and styling ideas, too.
So you’ve saved up and are ready to take the plunge and invest in your first designer fashion purchase—that’s no small feat! Understandably, you probably want to choose something that you’ll use for years to come, is versatile, retains its value, and just feels special. After all, you’ll remember your first designer purchase forever. But as you likely already know, there are a lot of options out there that meet these criteria. That’s what I’m here for.
As a longtime Who What Wear editor, I’ve learned a thing or two over the years about smart designer shopping. I’m also well aware of how important that first big purchase can be, and I’ve come armed with recommendations. In my personal opinion, the best first designer purchases are handbags and shoes. You’re likely to wear them more often than you would an article of clothing, and they’re great investments. Below, shop my top 13 picks for each category, all of which are smart buys whether you already own designer items or not.
The best fashion season is boot season, and when temperatures start to drop, there’s nothing like dressing up with a cute new pair of fall boots. Though I don’t wear them as often in sunny Los Angeles, that doesn’t mean I love them any less. Plus, they still work in warmer temperatures if you style them right! Because shoe shopping is my lifeblood, I happily spent hours looking through the boot sections on Nordstrom, Mango, and Zara this week in order to round up the best possible pairs. From designer finds to affordable yet luxe-looking styles, you’re bound to find your new go-tos with the shoe offering below.
I made sure to include a variety of shapes, heights, colors, and textures, so there are knee-high kitten-heel boots, chunky Chelsea boots, and everything in between. If you’re in the mood for some fall boot shopping (don’t deny it—I know you are!), keep scrolling for the 29 best boots from Nordstrom, Mango, and Zara.
When even my friends who truly thrive in stilettos are dabbling in loafers, I know I can safely report that there’s really something to this flat-footwear trend. As someone who has never shied away from avoiding heels, I couldn’t be more thrilled. Although, it’s somewhat cruel that the internet is suddenly providing all the flat shoes my heart could ever desire right when I’ve finally taken it upon myself to cull my footwear down to just a handful of perfect styles.
Even if you can’t imagine your work wardrobe sans heels, allow me to introduce you to some flat footwear that will keep things chic on your winter commute. From Mary Janes to ballet flats, loafers to slingbacks, metallic styles to sneakers, these 32 pairs just might make you think twice about stealthily changing out of them under your desk.
In the spirit of Black Friday, Mango has put over 1k items from its vast inventory on sale until November 26, with some prices slashed by as much as 50%. And since outerwear is typically one of the most expensive winter wardrobe pieces to buy, it’s helpful that some of Mango’s best coats are part of the sale. There are some gems among them that I can’t believe haven’t sold out yet.
I’ve owned several coats from Mango myself, and I’m always impressed by the quality—especially the 100% wool ones. They also have some great leather options this year, and chic celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski are fans. Some of these coats truly look as though they cost $1k as opposed to $150.
I scrolled through the extensive sale offerings on Mango and chose 17 beautiful coats that you might regret missing out on, as the prices are kind of unbelievable. Keep scrolling to see (and shop) for yourself.
Welcome to boots season! Over the past few months, we’ve made predictions based on the fall and winter trends we’d want to wear and planned out the outfit combinations we’d be trying. But now that we’re well acquainted with our cold-weather wardrobes, we have to admit that, well, we’ve been playing favorites. Of all the boot trends on deck this season, each of our editors has cherry-picked the styles that speak to them the most and have been prioritizing those top picks. The change in seasons comes hand in hand with our desire for a wardrobe refresh—starting with a winter-boot upgrade.
To find out what we’ll actually be wearing throughout the winter, we discussed the winter boot trends we’re phasing out due to their somewhat outdated nature. Chunky lug-sole boots aren’t making the cut this season for these editors, but instead, many of us are leaning toward sleek stiletto and riding boot styles this season. Keep scrolling to uncover the boots—from the 2023 update to shearling boots (yep, they’re back) to cool moto boots—we’re considering to inspire your next winter shopping haul.
Sale season is in full swing, and this is the time of year I really let myself splurge. But since everything is heavily marked down, it’s guilt free spending… right? Zara has been one of my tride and true retailers for years now and this sale season they did not disappoint. I wanted to stock up on some great knit pieces, some holiday party looks, cool faux leather outerwear pieces, and of course a new pair of shoes (or three.) Keep scrolling to see which 30 Zara sale items I’m ordering now, while they’re still in stock.

Community is at the center of everything that Laura Brown does.
After InStyle stopped publishing its print edition in February of 2022, Brown left her role as the magazine’s editor-in-chief to launch her new media venture, LB Media.
Brown is taking her decades of experience working at the intersection of fashion, Hollywood, and media to new ventures.
Whether that’s her new collaboration with the French brand Sézane or becoming the chair of (Red)’s Creative Council, community-building comes first.
“It’s not like I am the most virtuous, most altruistic person, but I think anything I did as an editor, I wanted to build communities and I wanted people to feel invited,” Brown said.
For the latest episode of Who What Wear With Hillary Kerr, Brown shares what it was like starting her own company, how an Instagram DM led to her Sézane collaboration, and more.
For excerpts from their conversation, scroll below.
Could you give our listeners a brief little debrief on what your mission is with LB Media?
The idea is sort of taking things and people in the sort of luxury or fashion or Hollywood or arts kind of sandbox and working with them to involve and benefit the greater world.
From the sandbox to the beach kind of thing, because it’s so much more interesting.
All the skills that I have and all the people I work with and I love fashion and I love Hollywood and I love all of that, but geez, that becomes a bit vacuum-sealed after a while and a bit interested in itself.
So anything I’ve been doing so far is about sort of bridging these two sides as partners to be helpful if it is something for the community, if it’s something to fight disease, like AIDS, all different sorts of things.
It’s not like I am the most virtuous, most altruistic person, but I think anything I did as an editor, I wanted to build communities and I wanted people to feel invited.
Now if I can I do that even more broadly, I find that unbelievably rewarding.
Tell me a little bit about how your life has changed over the past year.
I’ve always maintained this—and I don’t know if I’ve said this before—I’ve always said freedom of movement, to me is the greatest success.
If you’re able to some degree choose where you can work and go, I find that really thrilling. I’m able to manage my own time.
If I have a day where I call it like, “giving a command performance.” If there’s a bunch of Zooms, and a meeting, and this and that and the other, an event that night, I’ll do that.
But the next day, I might be like, “I’m not doing any calls today.”
Because there’s a whole lot of rituals within the publishing business. You go here, you gotta go to this event, you gotta go to these shows.
A lot of it was just stuff for the sake of stuff or busy work, which I’m really not a fan of busy work.
So yes, it’s held true in that I have more mobility.
Talk to me about this upcoming collab with Sézane.
I’d known of them very peripherally—because they’ve only really started to expand in the States in the last couple years.
I found this DM from Morgane [Sézalory], which she originally sent me—wait for it—at the end of January 2020.
She said, “I don’t know if you know Sézane, I’m one of the most sustainable, feminine, largest French brands. I’d love to collaborate with you.”
It’s LB x Sézane, but the sub header is called “French Enough.”
It’s just sort of like, “Look, girls: We’re just getting by. We’re being cute. We can just be French enough.”
There is a sweatshirt with this slogan on it that they designed and it’s so cute.
I love them as well because of the humor.
Can you talk a little bit about some of the pieces themselves? What are you personally most excited about?
There is a really fabulous leopard coat and there’s a really great pale blue velvet suit, which is super banging. I really, really liked it.
All the colors are kind of ’70s. They’re sort of brown, blue, white, leopard.
They’re not too extreme. You can mix them with everything.
There’s a really great turtleneck—a printed floral turtleneck—I’m a big fan of.
There’s a really, really great pair of patent sort of chocolatey Mary Jane’s that I really love.
This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity. Next, check out our interview with Who What Wear’s associate director of special projects, Kristen Nichols.
When looking at what the fashion set has been wearing as winter arrives, I’ve noticed there are some undeniable trends that are unfolding—whether I’m spotting them IRL on the streets of New York or on Instagram. There is certainly no denying that a new season is in our midst as more layering and holiday dressing start to take hold. Some of the most dominant trends are being carried over from earlier this year, though adopted for colder temperatures and taking on new shapes. Other trends, still, are just starting to take shape and take hold of fashion insider wardrobes.
From the directional way people are wearing knits and the outerwear pieces that are already huge to the specific colors and accessories that are suddenly everywhere, there are a handful of specific pieces and trends to know right now.
Ahead, take a closer look at the winter fashion trends we’re predicting will be huge this season.
We’ve been tracking the biggest shoe trends of 2023 closely. On the spring/summer 2023 runways, we saw the rise of balletcore and all things pretty and the return of pumps and cool Mary Janes. On the fall/winter 2023 runways, red took over, pointed heels made a huge impact, faux fur was a talking point, and embellishments added an undeniable editorial element to the shoe sphere.
Now that winter 2023 has arrived, we are seeing shoe trends take yet another direction as recent styles are dropping on the market. While many of these trends are an evolution of the styles we have been tracking all year, there are also some new players in the space. Patent leather is picking up even more momentum, ’90s-inspired styles show signs that the emphasis on minimalism from the decade isn’t slowing down, and other trends are getting some seasonal updates. Ahead are the most important winter shoe trends to know for 2023.
Olivia Rodrigo has shown that she knows a good pair of flat shoes when she sees one. On her off-duty time, she’s often photographed wearing loafers and sneakers. But the shoes she’s most often photographed wearing are Dr. Martens—from platform lace-ups to boots and everything in between. But the style she’s been wearing lately is the prettiest style that Dr. Martens makes.
On two separate occasions this month in NYC, Rodrigo has worn the brand’s 8065 style (with white crew socks and other casual pieces, I might add). Dr. Martens 8065 shoes are a pair of chunky, double-strap Mary Janes with all of the classic Dr. Martens details. The thing is, given the popularity of the Mary Jane trend, the shoes aren’t that easy to find right now, but find them I did, and on sale. Keep scrolling to shop them if you’ve been (understandably) influenced by Olivia Rodrigo.
‘Tis the season for holiday parties, hot cocoa, and winter trips. I’m looking forward to all of these things in my personal life, but professionally, I have a singular priority this time of year: bringing our readers the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday fashion deals. Fashion editors work tirelessly to cut through the noise and deliver the cream of the crop when it comes to sales of all stripes.
Whether you’re looking for under-$100 finds from Madewell or designer buys, we’ve got you covered. This story covers the latter, including shoes by Stuart Weitzman and Alexander McQueen, as well as bags by Marc Jacobs and Staud. I sourced everything from Saks Fifth Avenue’s Black Friday early access section, which offers an additional 40% off select sale items. Scroll down to shop my picks.
Welcome to Let’s Get a Room, a series where editor Eliza Huber heads to the dressing room to try on pieces from your favorite retailers, buzzy items, and new collections. Think of this column as a detailed guide to the pieces that are actually worth buying and the ones that, unfortunately, looked better online—no returns necessary.
Tory Burch is at the top of her game, with collection after collection garnering rave reviews from the fashion community at large; an endless array of top influencers, from Emily Ratajkowski to Alix Earle, wearing her designs; and multiple viral items with her name on their labels. In other words, I’m not alone in my admiration for the New York–based designer, which is why her brand was the perfect choice for Let’s Get a Room’s first foray into the luxury space. I couldn’t help myself. After all, given how much time I spend in its multi-floor, home-like Mercer Street boutique for personal reasons (i.e., I can’t stop shopping the brand’s current spring/summer 2023 sale selection), a proper excuse became not just warranted but necessary.
That’s how I ended up taking over two dressing rooms on the third floor of the TB townhouse late one Tuesday night, sipping prosecco and Pellegrino while putting together outfits from the currently-on-display F/W 23 offering as well as holiday-ready dresses, handbags, and shoes. Simply put, I entered into heaven, one where there’s no such thing as too many gold accessories, Tory Burch’s pierced-toe heels aren’t almost sold out, and my entire wardrobe bears her name. Scroll down to see and shop the four head-to-toe Tory Burch looks I played dress-up in.
As one of the fashion capitals of the world, London is home to countless trendsetters, tastemakers, and iconic and up-and-coming brands. Recently, I’ve heard tons of fashion people across the pond raving about ALIGNE. Naturally, I had to investigate (read: shop), and let me just say I love what I found. ALIGNE favors timeless pieces that mix and match seamlessly, and best of all, they’re chic and high quality but still reasonably priced. I have a feeling you’re going to love this brand as much as I do. Keep reading to shop the pieces you need.
It’s November, so I’m obviously already thinking about holiday gifts for my loved ones. In my opinion, anything that promotes relaxation and self-care is a solid option. But I have a discerning eye, so I’ve been looking for self-care gifts that are a level above the rest, and Keys Soulcare came to mind. It’s a brand that emphasizes physical self-care as well as caring for your soul. In fact, when you shop on-site, you’ll find confidence-building affirmations on each product’s page. And let’s be real: The best glow is one that comes from within. Keep reading to see my top 16 picks that will give you (or the loved one you’re shopping for) an indescribable radiance.
As we switch our mindsets from alfresco to hibernation mode, it’s time consider investing in sensible outerwear to see us through to spring, and given just how many coats are on the market right now, it’s tricky to know which are actually worth spending our money on. There are, of course, the timeless classics that come around every year (and we tried and tested the very best and gave our reviews here), but if you’re looking for something that will do a little more than just keep you warm, we’ve got that covered too.
Just as with anything else in fashion, new trends come around as quickly as dated ones fall out of favor, and coats are no exception. In the last few months, we’ve shelved our denim jackets, trench coats, and quilted car coats in favor of something buzzier (and far better suited to inclement weather), so it’s time to start shopping around for something to fill the gap. Here, discover a new batch of coat trends that will no doubt come to define the season. In fact, some of them already are.
There is a coat trend that is stalking me on Instagram. The more I think about the coat, the more it remarkably emerges onto my Instagram explore page—seducing me with its unique modern-vintage-grandma-vibes. I picture myself cocooned into it living my happiest winter life. Yeh, ok so I may be a little obsessed but it’s hard not to be. The toppers I talk of are quilted coats but not just any old quilted coats. These are special handmade or re-worked jackets pieced together from old quilts or from some sort of patchwork of fabrics—creating a masterful smorgasbord of sartorial beauty.
I first spotted the style on fashion maven @prosenkilde and ever since I keep spotting the trend on cool fashion girls everywhere—making the case for some maximalist fun this fall. Any type of bedding you can actually wear outside the bedroom is a winner in my book.
After a few (ok, copious hours) of research, I’ve learned that these coats are not exactly easy to come by. There are some amazing independent upcycling brands such as Psychic Outlaw and Upcycled Gypsy that create custom made-to-order quilted coats, while designer brands like Bode and Sea make epic wear-forever quilted jackets (albeit with a slightly higher price tag). Etsy and Ebay can also be a treasure trove of quilted gems. If you find yourself seriously obsessed like I am then scroll below to shop some of my favorite finds.
Your early 20s can be such a confusing time. This is the time a lot of people are not only entering the professional workforce but also discovering their style. As a fashion editor, I find joy in helping people find pieces they love at an affordable price point, so I decided to use my expertise to help my 23-year-old younger sister. I utilized my knowledge of top-tier internet hot spots and voraciously dug through many a virtual aisle to uncover some pretty cool pieces.
Ahead shop my Gen Z style picks that any early 20s fashion lover will be excited to check out. From comfortable, trendy sneakers and cool tops to beautiful accessories and chic cold-weather finds, there’s a diverse array of product selections to cater to a range of tastes. Keep scrolling to find your new favorite styles.
