Sneak Peek: Emily in Paris’s New Outfits Are Gloriously Over-the-Top

    [ad_1]

If three of your favorite F-words are fun, French, and fashion, then you’re probably already counting down the days until the season-three premiere of Emily in Parisonly 12 remain until Lily Collins and the amiable albeit occasionally aloof cast of characters magically appear on Netflix on December 21.

Creator Darren Star has a flare for the dramatic, so while we’re not sure what that means for Emily’s relationship and career, we’re pleased to see that the costumes continue to be next-level. Marylin Fitoussi remains at the helm of the costume-and-wardrobe department, delighting viewers with Emily’s occasionally avant-garde (or perhaps just overly American) style, showcasing vibrant colors and punchy patterns mixed in with classic “French-girl” style as seen on supporting characters.

So while we don’t yet know what antics Emily will get up to this season, we do know that the show’s over-the-top costumes are reason enough to tune in. Keep scrolling for a sneak peek at a few of Emily et amis’ OOTDs.

  • Dad-Core Is Back: 6 Shoe Styles Defining The Trend Right Now

Dad-Core Is Back: 6 Shoe Styles Defining The Trend Right Now

    [ad_1]

Given the chatter over dainty Cinderella-esque stilettos and skyscraper platforms last year, we were all due for the pendulum to swing the other way. And you can say that it has definitely shifted. Casual, low-maintenance shoes have been at the forefront of fashion’s dad-core renaissance with notable styles like Birkenstock’s Boston clogs and Uggs leading the charge. The trend is a nice change of pace for an industry that notoriously favors hardcore heels and toe-pinching silhouettes; these shoes are easy on the feet.

Not too long ago shoes like Uggs and clogs were on the fringes of the trend cycle, so it’s a bit unusual to see them embraced so hardly among fashion insiders all over the world. But fashion girls have been styling them in surprisingly chic ways that make even the most dubious person reconsider. Along with weathered biker jackets, baggy parachute pants and oversized button-down shirts I guess looking like a dad is here to stay.

To check out the styles that are defining the dad-core wave right now, keep scrolling below.

I Tried On the 15 Top-Rated Winter Items From Amazon—Here’s What I Kept

    [ad_1]

If you’re going into the new year with a more intense shopping budget than usual, you’re not alone. I’m a designer-clothing addict, but I am planning for a lot of travels and weddings so will need to spend my money wisely this year. So far, tapping into my favorite affordable fashion sites has been such a joy because you can buy so much more and not feel guilty for your spending. We all know money can’t buy style. Being a true fashionista means that you can look your best at any price point. That’s why I’m challenging myself to explore more budget-friendly sites this year, and first up is Amazon.

There are so many great finds on Amazon, but it can be so overwhelming to simply head to the site and type into the search bar what you are looking for. There seems to be an endless number of options, and sometimes, the good things are several pages in. It’s my job to shop, so I spent several hours browsing the millions of products on the site with the hopes of being able to report back to you all on what is worth actually buying. To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations, but I was so impressed by the quality of the items that ended up being winners. I’ve always known Amazon to be a trend-driven retailer, but my picks are actually items that I’ll be wearing for years to come. After I tried on 15 items, there were six true standouts that I can genuinely vouch for. Scroll on to find your favorite.

According to My Research, These Are the Only 6 Winter Shoe Trends That Matter

    [ad_1]

In my experience, everyone in fashion has their thing, be it handbags, outerwear, basics, or most often, shoes, including but not limited to boots, heels, sandals, clogs, and flats. Mine, like so many, revolves solely around footwear. And because of that, I spend a large chunk of my day looking through runway shows, Instagram feeds, magazines, and of course, the market, in order to garner enough information about the state of the footwear market to report on it accurately and with the level of enthusiasm only a true shoe lover can emote.

That brings me to my latest dump of research findings, which center around the shoe trends that will dominate the fashion scene throughout the approaching winter. From engineer boots inspired by Miu Miu’s FW22 offerings to colorful options that are sure to spark joy on even the gloomiest of winter days, the 6 shoe trends ahead are lying in wait for the season to begin and their reigns over our feet to commence. My “Real Life” Style Is Casual—4 Items I’m Adding to My Closet for the New Year

    [ad_1]

While Los Angeles-based influencer Jen Andrews-Cater certainly dresses up for specific occasions, her “real life” day-to-day style often skews on the more casual side to lean into her self-described minimal aesthetic. That said, “casual” and “simple” certainly don’t equate to “boring.”

While Andrews-Cater likes to keep it more low-key, those said looks are still forward and highly modern. On that note, she actually shared with us a few of the items she’s been wearing more of and those that she wants to add to her closet for the new year to create her 2023 casual ensembles.

Below you’ll uncover Andrews-Cater’s current shopping list. You’ll notice easy-to-wear trends that could truly work for a variety of styles. Keep scrolling for more, along with testimonials, visual references, and shopping recommendations.

  • These Are the Denim Trends I’m Excited to Try in 2023 as a Plus-Size Editor

These Are the Denim Trends I’m Excited to Try in 2023 as a Plus-Size Editor

    [ad_1]

As a plus-size fashion editor, I can’t begin to tell you how many trends I’ve looked at and thought, Huh? As much as I love being on the cutting edge of style and experimenting with new silhouettes, it’s not a stretch of the imagination to say that not every trend is neither accessible (nor inclusive) for people of all body types to implement into their wardrobe.

Historically, fashion has a size-inclusivity problem, but the spring/summer 2023 season was notorious for its large lack of plus-size models on the runway, something non–straight-sized influencers and editors questioned. As someone who spends all day looking at runways to predict the next big trends, I’m inclined to agree.

Thankfully, denim’s 2023 resurgence means more retailers and designers are releasing plus-size styles that feel fresh and exciting for any fashion lover, regardless of size. My favorite piece of clothing is jeans so naturally, I’ve spent hours scrolling through all of my favorite retailers to find that oh-so-perfect piece of denim I’ll be adding to my closet.

Below, shop all of next year’s cant-miss denim trends—including the ones that are made with every body in mind.

  • 9 Things We Regret Wearing to the Airport

9 Things We Regret Wearing to the Airport

    [ad_1]

Collectively as a team of editors, we’ve traveled a ton since the start of 2022. Some of us even hop on more than 30 flights in the span of a year, and others have traveled to over 30 countries. All these in-flight hours have amounted to our team perfecting the art of packing (hello, ever heard of the 54321 trick for packing light?) and the art of the airport outfit—trust us, airport style is a thing. But we couldn’t have gained all our expertise without first practicing some good old trial and error. Speaking of error, don’t forget to check out the three items that travelers pack but never wear. Take it from us, there is a definitive list of items we’ve deemed as the worst airport clothing.

As much as we would love to file those cringe-worthy memories somewhere far, far away, we’re instead sharing our biggest airport outfit offenses. Seriously, learn from our mistakes. Ranking high up on the list—and something all of us have regretfully done at some point—is wearing 100% cotton “rigid” jeans when flying. If you’ve ever sat squished into a middle seat on a long flight, you can imagine the level of discomfort that an unforgiving pair of jeans provides.

Ahead read up on our major airport outfit offenses so you don’t make the same mistakes we once did.

Those ACNE Studios scarves continue to sell out.

While my job may entail scrolling through Instagram more than the average person, the dozens of images pooling in my saved folders confirm that the trends I’m noticing are most certainly a thing this season. Meet the winter Instagram fashion trends I keep seeing all over my feed.

Trend Predicting Is My Job, But Even I Didn’t See This Grandma Trend Coming

    [ad_1]

    Photo:

While many trends have ruled the year, one descriptor that immediately comes to mind when summing up 2022 is “see-through”. It has definitely been the moment for risk-takers: from delicate mesh knits to unlined slip skirts, skin-revealing pieces have been dominating every corner of the fashion landscape. Yet another racy trend that has recently emerged (and seemingly out of nowhere) is the return of black lace. And while lace as a trend is hardly anything new, it’s hard to ignore just how prevalent the motif has been among fashion it-girls as of late. Bella Hadid wore a lacy black dress for her birthday celebrations last month, styling it with a leather jacket and black undergarments. Her outfit showcases just how this “grandma” trend has been transformed into one of the most controversial right now: Instead of the motif playing second fiddle as a trim or overlaying piece, designers have made sheer black lace the main star, using the material for unlined dresses, blouses, and even pants.

Among the designers to give the trend a big high fashion boost include Saint Laurent and Alaia, who both have included black lacy flared pants and tops within their fall-winter runway collections. Needless to say, the buzz over black lace is only going to up from here. If you’re looking for ways to wear it IRL, I’ve included all of the best pieces on the market now, as well as some outfit inspiration below.

EmRata Went on a Date With Pete Davidson Wearing a Cult-Favorite Puffer

    [ad_1]

After escorting Kim Kardashian to the Met Gala dressed as President John F. Kennedy, I was convinced that nothing Pete Davidson could do would shock me. Then I heard rumors about him and Emily Ratajkowski, and shocked I most certainly was. Not that I’m mad about it. Actually, in the photos that just surfaced of the model-comedian duo courtside at Madison Square Garden for a New York Knicks game this weekend, they looked good together. Like, really good.

Then again, Ratajkowski looks great no matter who she’s sitting next to, especially when she’s wearing the puffer jacket that season after season, makes a huge impression on the celebrity scene. The style, North Face’s 1996 Retro Nuptse, costs $320 and has been spotted on everyone from Kendall Jenner and Jennifer Aniston to, most recently, Hailey Bieber. With hers, a chocolate-brown alternative to the more popular black colorway, Ratajkowski wore light-wash jeans, snakeskin knee-high boots from Dear Frances, and a vintage Dior saddle bag. Not bad for their first official outing together.
