  • The 2023 Blazer Trend Is Here, and It’s Truly Perfect

The 2023 Blazer Trend Is Here, and It’s Truly Perfect

    [ad_1]

Blazers always make quite an appearance on the runways no matter what season is at play, which means we can’t really tell you blazers are trending since, by now, they are 100% a wardrobe basic, must-have, go-to, etc. Instead, we like to examine this timeless outerwear style to identify the nuances from season to season. So what’s in store for next year? The collarless blazer. We’re talking no lapels in sight. This detail, although subtle, somehow still feels very significant—so much so that we are deeming it the blazer trend to know this year.

This particular blazer style offers up great opportunities to show off a funky collar should you choose to layer a shirt underneath or show off a glitzy assortment of necklaces with no distractions from the lapel. Overall, we think the look is so chic. The lack of a collar creates such a streamlined silhouette that reads extremely elevated no matter how it’s styled. Ahead, you’ll get to take a peek at a few of our favorite collarless-blazer moments from the runways, and of course, you’ll be able to shop our favorite versions of this trend along the way.

    [ad_1]

Winter is upon us, and the shoe trends this season are some of the best we’ve seen in a while. Basically, the options are endless, which is why I shopped out the best of the best below.

Naturally, a majority of the most talked-about trending winter shoes are from luxury brands and designers, but I threw in a few more affordable pairs that have received equal hype among our team of editors. 5 Everyday Shoes You’ll Regret Not Buying, According to a Personal Stylist

    [ad_1]

With all the shoes available every time we enter a store or an e-commerce site, it can be hard to know what it is we will actually need or wear. Someone who does know is Alex Long, a Raleigh, North Carolina–based personal stylist and the founder of Alex Long Studio, which also provides personal-shopping services and wardrobe editing to clients. “Shoes can either make a look or kill it,” Long says, and recently, she told me that one of the things people never seem to have enough of is everyday shoes

Long and I could easily talk about shoes all day, so who better to advise on the everyday shoes that women need (and that might be currently missing from their wardrobes) than her? Keep scrolling to find out which five shoe styles she says are essential, and then shop our picks for each.

  • I Live on the East Coast, and I’m Seeing These 5 Trends All Over My Neighborhood

I Live on the East Coast, and I’m Seeing These 5 Trends All Over My Neighborhood

    [ad_1]

For the past year and a half of residing in New York City’s East Village, I’ve come to love a lot about my neighborhood. Ridiculous rent prices aside, the area has so much to offer, like great restaurants and fun spots for a night out, but perhaps my favorite part is getting a glimpse into which trends my fashionable neighbors are embracing for the season.

Between my neighborhood and the proximity to the Lower East Side and Soho, there is never a shortage of style inspiration. So, for research purposes, I recently planted myself at my favorite coffee shop, ordered a cup of tea, and stared out the window at the fashionable people passing by. Apologies if you caught me staring at you, by the way. Anyways, after taking my observations back to the lab (my apartment), I narrowed down which trends my neighbors are wearing the most right now. Scroll on for my findings, plus my top picks for shopping the trends yourself.

Hands Down, These Are the Prettiest Dress Trends of 2023

    [ad_1]

As much as I love a simple slip or classic LBD, every now and again, I find it refreshing to switch things up and opt for dresses that err more on the side of trendy than evergreen. Luckily, with many of fashion’s most influential designers choosing 2023 to experiment with retro silhouettes and interesting fabrics, the year ahead is rich with dress trends, all of which are good enough to make sidelining even the most timeless styles worth it.

After consulting the spring 2023 runways, as well as just about every cool feed on Instagram, I managed to edit down my once overwhelming list of pretty dress trends for next year to a far more digestible one that only features the very best of the sartorial genre. From Valentino-inspired shift dresses to ’90s tube dresses à la The Row, scroll down to uncover the six dress trends that will make the biggest impression on our wardrobes come 2023.

  • This Modern Hoop Silhouette Is at the Top of My List for 2023

This Modern Hoop Silhouette Is at the Top of My List for 2023

    [ad_1]

Hoops are always in, whether it be a classic large hoop or a small, playful huggie. But this year, I’ve been eyeing a new silhouette that feels modern, bold, and exciting. The extra-chunky hoop has entered the chat in the form of dramatic tapered domes and bulky, vintage-feeling silhouettes.

Although these silhouettes have a history with legendary jewelry brands like Patricia Von Musulin and Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co., they have also made their way to today’s luxury market. Fashion houses such as Jil Sander and Bottega Veneta have brought these exaggerated hoops to their collections, and celebrities have taken a liking. Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Hailey Bieber have all worn a version of Bottega Veneta’s Drop Earrings, furthering the desire for these oversize silhouettes.

On my 2023 must-have list, these are number one. So below, I’ve taken the time to shop out the best edit of chunky hoops for our shared shopping enjoyment.

Although I’m not a fully converted platform princess (I’m partial to my white Adidas Stan Smith sneakers which have seen better days…) , the holidays are the one time of year I relish in putting on a pair of bedazzled sky-high stilettos to ring in the festivities with family and friends. [ad_1]

Over the summer, it seemed like everyone was either on the beaches of Italy or the streets of France. Now, it seems like every person on my Instagram feed has been hitting the slopes. The trend even continues in the market, with cool-girl brands like Khaite and Miu Miu launching après-ski inspired pieces. And while I wasn’t able to have my European summer, I do plan on making a trip out to Catskills or Aspen this winter. (Two Who What Wear editors were in Aspen this week, so talk about an on-trend destination.)

While my first priority is to stay warm, I’m not knocking style off the to-do list. After you’ve already checked off ski boots and helmets, your clothes might be just as important as the actual sporty equipment. Below, I’ve rounded up all the essentials I think everyone should have on their winter trip.  And whether you’re actually planning on taking part in snow sports or would much rather cozy up in the cabin, the items on this list will keep you warm and well-dressed.

We Already Know These 6 Boot Trends Will Be Huge in 2023

    [ad_1]

There are already plenty of boot trends unfolding on the fashion set right now, but the spring/summer 2023 runways are giving us insights into which specific silhouettes early adopters will be wearing next year. With many boot-wearing months upon us, I’ve been curious about which specific styles were emerging on the runways, so dove into the collections deeper to see the exact boots trends we can expect to gain steam as we look to the year ahead.

Many of the trends are echoing what we’re already seeing on the style set, including the knee-high sock boots and Western-inspired shapes that have recently been soaring in popularity recently. Other styles, such as satin boots, feel decidedly fresher and outside of the current fashion conversation. However, designers made a strong case for all of these styles, so we can expect to see them pick up soon. Here, the six boot trends that are set to be big in 2023.

I’m Obsessed With Cost Per Wear, and This Best-Selling Perfume Is Just 37¢ a Pop

    [ad_1]

I might have expensive taste when it comes to perfume, but Maison Margiela’s cult-loved line of eau de toilettes called Replica is the rare breed of fragrance that smells worthy of a $300 price tag but is actually less than half of that. The cozy, time-and-place-inspired collection features some of the most beloved scents in the industry (ahem, By the Fireplace will always be a classic), but at just $135 a bottle, it’s also one of the most cost-effective ways to smell really, really good without sacrificing your bank account’s well-being. Think about it this way: If you were to give yourself one healthy spritz per day, that breaks down to just 37 cents per wear. I mean, how can you resist that? So as an ode to our love for Replica, we reached out to Maison Margiela HQ for an official ranking of the most popular Replica perfumes to date. Curious to see which bottle is taking home the gold? I Live in L.A., and My Friend Lives in Paris—We Agree on These 5 Winter Trends

    [ad_1]

I met French fashion influencer Géraldine Boublil almost a decade ago at a dinner party I threw with my French boyfriend at the time in Hollywood. We immediately bonded over the quinoa salad recipe I had made that evening. (She may be French, but she definitely appreciates the healthy Cali lifestyle!) Aside from her warm and loving personality, I was immediately struck at how incredibly stylish she was—the epitome of that effortlessly chic French-girl aesthetic we write and talk about so often here at Who What Wear.

Fast-forward 10 years, and it’s been such a joy following Géraldine’s Instagram @erinoffduty. From her fashion week outfits to her travels and all the of-the-moment It items she knows about first, she’s always a great source of sartorial inspiration.

While Géraldine lives in Paris and I live in L.A. (where everything from the weather to dressing habits can differ greatly), there are certain specific trends and styles we always agree on. Given that we’re often intrigued by what people are wearing in various cities, today I thought I’d share some of our favorite winter trends we both gravitate to during the cold-weather season. Perhaps it sparks some interest in your daily wardrobe (regardless of where you live!). Keep scrolling for a range of visual inspiration on the winter styles we both love.

So much happened last night at Celine’s Los Angeles show that I couldn’t possibly fit everything into one headline. The Parisian brand staged a full fashion experience at The Wiltern, an art deco landmark, where A-listers, rock stars, and stylish people of all stripes converged for an insanely fun night. For starters, the guest list included Cindy Crawford, Paris Hilton, Brie Larson, Kid Cudi, Miles Teller, Emma Chamberlain, Wiz Khalifa, and many others. Oh, and none other than Kaia Gerber, who walked the runway.

As for the runway looks, Hedi Slimane presented a smattering of 2000s-era trends—I’m talking skinny jeans, thin scarves, fringed boots, low-rise belts, tote bags, and several other trends that 2005 Kate Moss would have gone absolutely mad for. As they say, what’s old is new again! Last but not least, performances from Iggy Pop, The Strokes, Interpol, and The Kills capped off the night.
