5 “Weird” Color Combinations Fashion People Are Wearing

    [ad_1]

When it comes to color and print mixing in fashion, we’re knee-deep in the “anything goes” era. Fashion people have become quite fearless in this arena, and playing it safe with tried-and-true color combinations is no longer the only way to go. Sure, people still rely on neutrals in their wardrobes, but when you really want to stand out and have some fun with your outfits, wearing off-kilter color combinations is a great way to do so.

While it’s true that anything goes when it comes to color these days, it’s only natural that some particularly special color pairings become a thing. The five I’m highlighting below have popped up over and over in my feed and among the hundreds of street-style photos I look at each season. Sometimes they’re in the form of something as small as a pair of shoes or a bag, and others are in the form of a person’s entire outfit. (If you’re new to unusual color pairings, accessories are always a great place to start.)

Now that I assume you’re ready to get a little experimental with color, scroll for the five trending color combos right now, and shop pieces that’ll help you pull them off effortlessly.

  • Stranger Things Star Natalia Dyer Shares the 4 Trends She’s Loving for Spring

Stranger Things Star Natalia Dyer Shares the 4 Trends She’s Loving for Spring

    [ad_1]

If you’ve already binge-watched the entirety of Stranger Things season four, then chances are you’re familiar with Natalia Dyer—the actress best known for playing Nancy Wheeler in the suspenseful Netflix sci-fi horror series. I’ve personally been devouring her retro-cool looks on the show from the very beginning—an eye-catching array of corduroy, shearling jackets, high-waisted jeans, mohair sweaters and retro sneakers—pretty much convincing me to revisit the ’80s preppy looks in my own wardrobe. Of course, I’ve been curious how much Natalia’s style differs off screen.

Luckily, I got the chance to sit down with the Nashville-raised, NYC-dwelling actress, at the launch of Longchamp’s spring/summer 2023 collection. She’s started working closely with the luxury French heritage brand in recent years and has become enamored with its effortlessly chic offerings. At the Santa Monica rooftop where we’re sitting she wears a head-to-toe vibrant poppy-hued Longchamp outfit and their latest Box-Trot handbag in bright pink—quite the contrast from her Nancy Wheeler outfits I’m used to seeing on the show. We chat about her everyday style which always errs on the side of comfort. I think I fall a little more in love with the down-to-earth actress when she tells me she’s been wearing casual Dickies pants almost every day and is a huge fan of Etsy—where she hunts for Victorian-inspired blouses and vintage pieces that are inspiring her at any given moment.

So what trends is the Stranger Things star excited for this season? From retro sneakers to flowy dresses, keep scrolling for the styles she tells me she’s loving right now.

  • Buckle Up: The 15 Best Designer Belt Bags of 2023 Are Here

Buckle Up: The 15 Best Designer Belt Bags of 2023 Are Here

    [ad_1]

A quick history lesson for you: The fanny pack, a 1980s wardrobe staple, decided to rebrand itself. In 2021, the belt bag was born. That’s it.

I didn’t say redesign because the design is really just the same. Worn around your waist like a belt or slung over your shoulder like a bag, belt bags, and fanny packs are both convenient ways of carrying your belongings. I love a good handbag, but I will say handbags have their flaws, especially when you live in Manhattan—spending minutes at the Whole Foods self-checkout digging around for my wallet and hearing impatient coughs from the long line, hugging it to my chest when I’m taking the subway late at night, accidentally bag-slapping my fellow civilians on the sidewalk as I rush to hail a cab… And that’s where the belt bag steps in.

The fundamental difference between a fanny pack and a belt bag is the former’s level of sophistication. Just take the name itself. Would you really buy something named after your arse? No, and this is exactly why (okay, maybe not exactlyluxury designers decided to help with the rebranding and introduce designer belt bags.

Designer belt bags are essentially Bluetooth: hands-free, modern, and attached to a steep price tag. At first, I was skeptical of these bags (and Bluetooth, too), but after a Sunday of heavy-duty research, I was convinced. As belt bags are sleek and practical, I found myself tabs deep in inspiration to save my paychecks for. I also have taken the liberty of rounding up the best designer belt bags to share some of this inspiration.

And who knows, maybe designer belt bags will have a rebranding in 40 years that someone else will write about. But for now, keep scrolling to see the 15 best designer belt bags available now.

  • Every Celeb’s Go-To Sunnies Are Currently On Sale At Nordstrom (You’re Welcome)

Every Celeb’s Go-To Sunnies Are Currently On Sale At Nordstrom (You’re Welcome)

    [ad_1]

In the world of fashion, wins can sometimes be hard to come by. Clothes, shoes, and accessories (especially accessories!) are expensive, particularly the sort that really well-dressed celebrities tend to wear on a regular basis. So, when a sale comes along that just so happens to include eyewear that’s frequently perched atop the noses of some of the world’s most trusted dressers, you have to act on it. Situations like this one don’t happen every day in this business—trust me.

The sunglasses in question aren’t just any sunglasses. Rather, they’re one of the most timeless, beloved, and instantly recognizable pairs, well, ever. If you haven’t already guessed the style, I’m talking about Ray-Ban’s iconic Wayfarers, which were created in 1952 and subsequently worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. These days, though, you’re much more likely to spot a pair of the classic, square-shaped shades on the celebrity set, with fans ranging from Kate Middleton to Sophie Turner (both royals in their own right), as well as Reese Witherspoon, Olivia Wilde, and more.

If the pair’s storied history or chic fanbase haven’t already convinced you to add a pair of Wayfarers to your eyewear collection, this most certainly will. During Nordstrom’s current spring sale—which sees over 16,000 women’s products red marked ahead of the new season—three color-ways of the best-selling Ray-Ban sunglasses are over 20% off. Keep scrolling to spot the pair on the celebs mentioned above and get in on the sale before it’s too late.

  • It’s an Exciting Season for Jewelry—6 Designers Pushing The Conversation

It’s an Exciting Season for Jewelry—6 Designers Pushing The Conversation

    [ad_1]

It’s the customary steps that define the ritual of getting dressedundergarments first, then clothes, and lastly jewelry (or accessories) as the finishing touch. But sometimes a piece of jewelry is so good that it demands to be the center of it all. Asserting itself as the star, rather than a supporting cast member. In direct contrast to the minimalist jewelry wave that brought us dainty micro huggie earrings and barely there chains, is a pool of emerging designers that are thinking big with their pieces. Their creations feel like works of art worthy of museum exhibits than simply items to fancy up an outfit. The metal is chunkier, the stones more ornate, and the designs more 3D and noticeably in your face than the jewelry we’ve noticed in a while. It’s also interesting to note that the names behind these bold designs are relatively fresh faces on the fashion scene, recently emerging within the past few years.

From botany-inspired earrings to amorphic statement rings, keep clicking below to discover six rising brands making jewelry more than an afterthought.

I’m a Fashion Exec—These Trends Will Become Even Hotter Over the Next Few Months

    [ad_1]

Our attention is laser-focused on spring trends right now. While we, the editors at Who What Wear, certainly have our favorites, we thought it could be interesting to gain insight into what’s defining the season from a different sartorial point of view for something different. Enter Diego Abba, CEO of Italist. This fashion exec has a pulse on what’s trending from a luxury retail perspective. He’s noted a few specific trends that are becoming increasingly popular on the site, and will probably become even hotter over the next few months given that many of the looks also had a presence in the fall/winter 2023 collections that debuted during fashion month.

“With over 1,500 brands and 250,000 items curated by Italy’s best retail buyers, it’s easy to spot fashion trends coalescing on Italist,” he said. Oh, it’s also to note that the beauty of Italist is that you can save majorly on designer items because the pieces are at the local Italian price. Many of the new spring collections are already marked down, and you can save up to 45% off local retail pricing.

Below you’ll uncover further insight from Abba about the trends that are bubbling up, based on customer interaction on the site. If you’re interested in investing in a new piece, you’ll also find shopping picks to jump on the trending items. There’s also visual inspiration to showcase the trends in question.

COS Is Having a Friends and Family Sale and I’d Buy These 19 Items at 25% Off

    [ad_1]

I was in New York last week, and I happened to step into a COS store one day when I had 15 minutes to kill. I was blown away by how chic the current collection is and how high the quality of everything is. COS is one of those brands that people tend to take for granted because it’s been around for so long, but I’m here to remind you how great the price points are for what you’re getting. And the price points are especially great right now because the brand is holding a rare friends and family sale.

From now through April 4, COS is offering 25% off site-wide (with some exclusions, which are marked). There isn’t a code—you just add your selections to your cart and they’ll magically become 25% cheaper. I’m so blown away by COS at the moment that I put together a little round-up of my favorite pieces. Scroll to shop before the sale ends and they go back to their full prices (which still aren’t bad).

The Cutest New Home Décor Items From H&M and Urban Outfitters

    [ad_1]

Besides fashion, one of my other passions is home décor. I take pride in my apartment and what I’ve been able to do with it, design-wise. However, I’ve lived in the same place for three years and I still feel like it’s not complete. But is a home ever a finished product? I like to think not, as I’m a big proponent of collecting things you love over time, as opposed to buying everything at once and ending up regretting purchases you made simply because you needed to fill a room.

To that end, I’m always on the lookout for knick-knacks for my home. H&M and Urban Outfitters are two of my favorite places to look, as they blend reasonable prices with stylish designs. Scroll down to shop my favorite new home décor pieces.

  • I Test-Drove the Best of J.Crew’s Spring Pieces and Fell in Love With These 11

I Test-Drove the Best of J.Crew’s Spring Pieces and Fell in Love With These 11

    [ad_1]

Welcome to The Great Try-On. We’re gearing up for spring, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best spring pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our at-home dressing rooms so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for spring wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you’ll wear over and over this season and beyond.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by J.Crew, as the brand’s cable-knit sweaters, freshwater pearls, and preppy aesthetic dominated the mid-aughts. My older sister was really into it at the time, and given our seven-year age gap and my incessant, annoying need to be just like her when I was younger, I loved it too. Now that the brand has been injected with a much-needed zap of cool-girl energy thanks to Olympia Gayot, head of womenswear design, my love has only grown stronger over the years.

If I’m being honest, my personal aesthetic isn’t always aligned with real clothes. I prefer to sit at home in a comfortable pair of sweatpants, but after scrolling through all of J.Crew’s new spring arrivals, I’ve got to say I’ve been fully converted into the real-pants tribe. Gayot has spoken to Who What Wear about her undeniably chic touch on the new-and-improved J.Crew, pulling out archival ’90s styles and silhouettes that would make any fashion lover throw their money out of the metaphorical window to buy everything on the site. I fully understand why—everything just works so well together.

Far too often as a plus-size editor, I spend hours online looking through retailers and brands only to discover that as much as I love them, they don’t love me back. In today’s fashion ecosystem of dwindling plus-size representation and lack of equal sizing across all aesthetic spectrums, J.Crew proves—once again—that chic clothing isn’t just something that’s promised to the few people who happen to be sample-sized. It’s for everyone.

Out of everything I’ve tried on from J.Crew’s newest arrivals, there isn’t a single thing I know I’ll only wear once, with the majority of pieces blending seamlessly into my comically massive closet. If that isn’t a testament to how versatile everything is, I don’t know what is. If I haven’t convinced you enough to run to see all of J.Crew’s spring clothing items, maybe these nine incredible finds will.

“Post-pandemic, we were all so conditioned to be ultra-casual. I expected to see that translate to the fashion on-site but was surprised the opposite happened,” she explained. “Everyone was so cooped up for so long [that] maximalist looks were everywhere.” If you were following last year’s festival-forward fashion, you’d agree. Pink cowboy hats, metallic boots, space glitter, and rhinestone-covered pasties were the outfit du jour for many of the attendees—often leading to cute but somewhat regrettable looks that felt almost too on-trend for the three-day affair. But Jiaras stressed there’s no singular trend she looks back at and cringes about. It’s all about feeling comfortable in what you’re wearing and letting your personal style shine through.

It’s important to acknowledge the fun, flirty fashion that emerges from the dusty haze of the Coachella Valley’s polo grounds, and you have to be mindful of your shopping habits when it comes to festival season. Thankfully, most of Jiaras’s fashion suggestions can be found at the thrift store or within your closet, something she heavily subscribes to. “The flea market, Poshmark, eBay auctions, and Depop are my best friends!” she said.

If you’re looking to spice up your music-festival fashion this year, look no further. Below is your go-to packing guide for Coachella fashion this year, according to Jiaras, the Coachella veteran herself. Don’t walk—run to grab these pieces before you regret not wearing them during this year’s summer festival circuit.
