The young fan said I Love You to him and Jungkook responded in kind. He waved at her and she waved at him back and broke down into tears over the same. Jungkook teased her by making a crying sound. He thanked her for coming to the show. Later, Jungkook learned that it was her birthday and he wished her on the occasion. The little ARMY broke down into tears all over again. Tiffany & Co. has named BTS member Jimin as its newest brand “ambassador,” marking the company’s latest foray into the burgeoning Asian luxury goods market.
Under the partnership, the K-pop star will appear in ad campaigns for Tiffany and attend high-profile branding events. A still shot from the luxury jeweler’s upcoming advertising campaign, out this spring, features Jimin sporting several of the brand’s “Lock” bracelets.

Jimin, whose full name is Park Ji-min, is no stranger to endorsement deals with luxury fashion brands. Earlier this year, the 27-year-old singer signed a global ambassadorship deal with Dior after years of promoting the brand alongside his BTS bandmates.
Jimin is the second Korean recording artist to star in a Tiffany advertising campaign. Rosé, a member of the popular K-pop girl band Black Pink, teamed with the brand in 2021.
Luxury brands have forged several strategic partnerships with prominent K-pop stars over the past few years in an effort to make inroads in Asia’s rapidly growing luxury goods markets.
Tiffany stepped up its focus on the Asia-Pacific market after its 2019 acquisition by luxury goods conglomerate LVMH. Tiffany’s store locator lists 39 stores in China and 23 shops in South Korea.

It’s not Haute Couture Fashion Week without a Valentino show. And it’s not a Valentino show without an absolutely stacked front row.
The house hosted its Spring 2023 haute couture debut below Paris’ iconic Pont Alexandre III along the Seine on Jan. 25. While gigantic ribbon bows, delicate feathers and sequins galore turned the runway into a sight worth waiting for, the A-listers made the presentation that much better.
Anne Hathaway arrived in a mini leopard-printed dress with matching tights, while Charli XCX wore a cropped black top with high-waisted trousers. Dove Cameron stunned in an elegant red ensemble, as Beatrice Gannò of “The White Lotus” repped the brand in an all-over logo print. BTS’ Suga made his first-ever appearance at a Valentino show as a brand ambassador in a monochromatic brown suit over a creamy camel blouse from the Unboxing Valentino collection. Doja Cat turned up the glam, of course, in an oversized rosette blazer — her third stop of the day, after appearances at Viktor & Rolf and Jean-Paul Gaultier.

How am I expected to get through a Wednesday at work when Suga is going haute couture?
The rapper, producer and member of BTS (née Min Yoongi) attended his first-ever Paris Fashion Week show — as a newly-minted Valentino brand ambassador — on Wednesday. For the house’s Spring 2023 haute couture debut, Suga went monochrome, but not in PP Pink: He opted for a light brown suit over a creamy camel blouse and loose neck tie from the Unboxing Valentino collection. He accessorized with a hardware necklace and beige dress shoes.
Earlier this month, Suga was announced as Valentino’s newest face, specifically as an embodiment of its DI.VAs campaign. Per the press release, DI.VAs is “an acronym denoting Different Values,” and represents “multifaceted character of codes, upheld by inner values. Empathetic, intelligent and romantic. For Pierpaolo Piccioli, DI.VAs is the essence of authenticity, progressive ideals and diversity that lead to change and convey the value of the Maison.”

Of Suga, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli said: “Suga is a multifaceted artist; he is an interpreter and uses his talent and his work to express himself with energy and authenticity. He perfectly embodies everything that DI.VA.s testimonials stand for: diversity, inclusivity, creativity and passion. We are happy to have him aboard and I am sure that we will do a lot of beautiful things together.”
Valentino wasted no time, putting its new ambassador in a Maison Valentino Essentials spread released in GQ in January.
As part of BTS, he and his fellow members — RM (Kim Namjoon), Kim Seokjin (Jin), J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Taehyung) and Jung Kook (Jeon Jungkook) — were global ambassadors for Louis Vuitton, but they never attended one of the house’s IRL fashion shows. (They did, however, model the Fall 2021 men’s collection for a virtual “spin-off show,” leaving no crumbs.)
This is Suga’s first Paris Fashion Week. He just missed his bandmates, Jimin and J-Hope, who were in town for the menswear shows the week prior and were even able to sit front row together. There’s always next season…
Jimin is kicking off 2023 the right way at the Dior Men’s Fall 2023 show in Paris.
The newly-appointed brand ambassador arrived at the venue amid roaring cheers from fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the idol. And he didn’t disappoint with his look: Park Jimin wore a slightly oversized greige suit over a light brown turtleneck, which gave it a feeling of contemporary elegance. The singer — one of the seven members of BTS — grounded his outfit with a pair of chunky lace-up Dior boots that perfectly matched his blazer and trouser set. With his hair parted down the middle, he looked playful yet refined.

Jimin posed confidently on the step-and-repeat before taking his seat in the front row, right next to bandmate J-Hope, who just yesterday was at the Louis Vuitton debut. (That’s right: Not one, but two BTS members were present at the Dior show — ARMY, are we okay?)

This comes days after Dior announced that Jimin was its new global ambassador. “The South Korean artist now embodies the spirit and singularity of Dior style” the brand shared in a statement. “This special bond seals, more than ever, his friendship with the house and Kim Jones.”
“So thrilled to start a journey with @Dior!” Jimin shared on Instagram.
The oldest member of the K-pop supergroup BTS has completed five weeks of basic training as part of his mandatory military service in South Korea.
On Wednesday, Jin posted on the fan community app Weverse for the first time since enlisting last month, sharing three photos of himself in a military uniform.
“I’m having fun. I’m posting a photo with permission from the military,” the 30-year-old wrote. “Army, always be happy and stay well,” he added.
Military service is compulsory in South Korea, where almost all able-bodied men are required to serve in the army for 18 months by the time they are 28 years old.
Jin entered the Yeoncheon training center on December 13, 2022, and has since been selected to serve as an assistant instructor at the Yeoncheon army base in northern Gyeonggi province, according to the South Korean military.
BTS have become worldwide superstars since debuting in 2013, earning No. 1 singles in more than 100 countries, more than 46 million followers on Twitter and being awarded Time magazine’s Entertainer of the Year award in 2020.
Under a bill passed in parliament in 2020, South Koreans who “excel in popular culture and art” are allowed to deter mandatory military service until the age of 30.
Jin, the oldest member of BTS, is the first in the group to enlist. He will be one of about 560,000 army troops, according to the South Korean army website.
The group’s record label BIGHIT Music said in October that all seven members would serve their mandatory military service.
BTS is expected to reconvene as a group around 2025.
Two teenage girls reported missing in Pakistan last week have been found more than 750 miles from home after attempting to travel to South Korea to meet K-pop super band BTS, police in the South Asian country said.
The two girls, aged 13 and 14, went missing on Saturday from Korangi in Karachi city, said Abraiz Ali Abbasi, a senior police superintendent of the area.
During a search of their homes, police found a diary that revealed their plans to travel to South Korea to meet the supergroup BTS, Abbasi said in a video statement.
“From the diary we saw mentions of train timetables and that they had been planning to run away with another friend of theirs … who we then interviewed,” Abassi said.
“We started tracking them aggressively and found out they were in custody of the police in the city of Lahore where they had traveled by train.”
Abbasi said arrangements for the girls to be taken back home to Karachi have been made in coordination with police in Lahore.
And he made an appeal for parents to “please monitor their children’s screen time,” so they’re more aware of what their children are viewing online.
“It isn’t a surprise that two teenagers took this risk because ‘stans’ are capable of doing this for their idols,” said culture journalist Rabia Mehmood, using a colloquial term for loyal fans. “But if we had more safe organized fan-girling spaces, younger fans could engage openly and freely with each other about their favorites instead of taking such risks.”
K-pop has a huge following all over the world, including Pakistan, with fans spanning age groups and genders. BTS posters and albums are sold all over the South Asian country, while Korean dramas are gaining popularity as well.
The seven-member Korean sensation BTS took a hiatus late last year, as its oldest member began mandatory military service last month. Jin, 30, started his military service on December 13, a commitment expected to last 18 months.
BTS is set to be kept apart until at least 2025 as other members of the group come of age to enter military bootcamps. The band has said they will use this time to pursue solo projects.
BTS member Jung Hoseok aka J-Hope is on a roll. After performing at Lollapalooza and MAMA Awards 2022, Jung Hoseok will be doing a solo stage at the 37th Golden Disc Awards. The award show is going to happen at the Rajamangala Stadium of Bangkok. His album, Jack In The Box is nominated in the Album Of The Year Category. The award show is going to happen on January 7, 2023. As we know, Jack In The Box was rated by Rolling Stone amongst the top ten albums of the year. It has come in the top 50 by other music magazines. Jack In The Box is purely a hip hop album which saw Jung Hoseok break away from his usual genre. Also Read – BTS: As Jin begins his active-duty military service, Suga gets enlisted as a social service agent
It remains to be seen if he will win the Album Of The Year this time. BTS won a number of awards at the event. J-Hope aka Jung Hoseok received all of them. His performance was simply dazzling. On stage, he danced on songs like More and Arson. At Lollapalooza in June 2022, he performed before a crowd of more than a lakh audience. This is a great opportunity for Thai BTS ARMYs to see J-Hope. The Rajamangala Stadium has a capacity of 65K. Also Read – BTS: Kim Soekjin aka Jin enlists in the military – 8 key points of the hot and debatable topic that grabbed headlines
J-Hope shared adorable pics with Kim Seokjin who has now joined the Korean military. We know that they adore each other. It seems Jin cooked a lavish dinner for everyone before he left for the military. We cannot wait to see what Jung Hoseok aka J-Hope will bring on stage at the Rajmangala Stadium.
Jin of K-Pop band BTS shows off his freshly shaved head on the K-pop social media platform Weverse, Dec. 11, 2022, ahead of his upcoming military conscription.

Seoul — Jin, a member of South Korea’s K-Pop superstar band BTS, has shaved his head and joined the army. At 30 Jin is the eldest member of the band, making him first in line to put his pop career on hold to fulfil his mandatory national military service.
A big purple banner was hung near the entrance to the Yeoncheon County military training center Tuesday, welcoming “Jin and every enlisted man” as they signed up for service.
BTS announced in June that it would pause its touring schedule, leading to a sudden drop in the stock price of the group’s parent entertainment company, Hybe, of almost 25% in a single day.
A photo posted on the group’s Twitter account showed Jin, with his new regulation military buzz cut, laughing with his BTS bandmates. The accompanying message read: “My brother! Come back safe! I love you.”
Questions over whether the young men of BTS would be required to enlist under South Korean law bubbled for years, stoking heated debates over everything from the requirement being for men only, to whether the band’s huge cultural contribution and earning power — both domestically and as representatives of South Korea on a global stage — should exempt them.
After machinations by the government to grant the band a pass drew a sharp rebuke — especially from former members of the military — the Ministry of Defense ruled in 2019 that the boys of BTS would, in fact, have to serve.
Most healthy Korean men are required to serve in the military for 18 months.
Pop star Psy, of “Gangnam Style” fame, has even been enlisted twice: As he managed to squeeze in so many musical performances during his first stint in the army, officials deemed his national service inadequate and required him to enlist again. He has now completed his second enlistment period and taken his singing career back on the road.
But there is no guarantee for boy band members that careers shelved for military service will be waiting for them when they return. In the world of pop and popular culture, 18 months is a long time. Being out of the public eye for so long — especially for a band like BTS, which has members of a range of ages, meaning its hiatus will be staggered and drag on for years — can see even the most fervent of fanbases fade away.

And BTS may have the most fervent group of fans in the world – or at least on the internet. “The Army,” as they somewhat ironically call themselves, replied to the band’s tweet on Tuesday with remorse, lament, and vows to remain loyal to their K-Pop heroes.
“We will wait for u jin, we love u,” declared one fan under the user handle mia. Another simply posted a short clip of a woman crying on her knees with the word “ARMY” emblazoned over her, in front of a superimposed image of the car driving Jin into the recruitment center.

It is widely assumed at this stage that BTS will at least attempt to reunite in 2025, once all the members have fulfilled their military service requirement.
At a daily news briefing, a Defense Ministry official sought to reassure nervous fans about Jin’s safety as he enlisted, noting that some 300 security personnel were dispatched to help control crowds gathered at the site.
The force, consisting of members of the South Korean Army (the actual army, not the BTS fans), local police and fire departments were “jointly doing their best to prevent safety accidents.”
Fans wait to see BTS’s Jin join the military in front of the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center, December 13, 2022 in Yeoncheon-gun, South Korea.

From Tuesday, Jin will go through five weeks of bootcamp training. It has been reported, though not confirmed by the military, that he will then be assigned to a front-line unit near the tense border with North Korea.
CBS News’ Tucker Reals contributed to this report.
In the past decade, Korea witnessed a boom, both economically and culturally, thanks to the “Hallyu wave,” which consists of everything from the estimated $13 billion K-beauty market, the appeal of K-pop idols and global attention to the nation’s film industry. Fashion’s role in this, though, has been a slower burn.
While you’ll most likely recognize a few brands from popular dramas, your favorite Korean celebrities or Seoul Fashion Week street style, many of Korea’s top designers are looking to cement themselves in the global market. On the cusp of international recognition, they’re pushing to advance K-fashion beyond the guise of the pop-culture craze.
According to Kaimin — the designer behind the brand of the same name, which has been worn by the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Björk — the growing popularity of the Korean music industry has been integral not just to bringing attention to the country’s fashion scene, but also to inspiring creatives on the ground.
“Musicians and other trendsetters have been dictating what’s fashionable and driving change from the top down and, while that may seem like a recipe for convergence, I think it has actually spread self-confidence and this broad expression of individuality that you see among the younger generation today, which is fabulous,” says Kaimin.
But other designers are looking to go beyond that pop-culture mold. “Until now, Korea has been sticking to the ‘existing fashion powerhouse,’ but I think it would be better to approach it in the way that Korean designers exceed even more,” The Studio K’s Hye-Jin Hong tells Fashionista. “Looking at successful cases such as ‘Squid Games’ and BTS, I think brands should strive to [overcome this method] and cement our identities into the world.”
Ahead, meet seven rising brands that are doing just that.
Blossom
Hea-Won Park had an affinity for clothes from a young age, which grew into an admiration for design, colors and textures that eventually lead her to found Blossom in 2016.
“I made [Blossom] for myself, but I also wanted to show it to others,” she says. “There are real main characters who sharpen and polish their own weapons — I wanted to be their supporter.”
The Seoul-based womenswear label makes ready-to-wear staples that are irresistible, sleek and even daring: oversized blazers and matching voluminous trousers, smart knitwear, boxy T-shirts, and flow-y silk blouses.
“I tend to pay a lot of attention to the quality [of our clothes] so that people can wear them for a long time,” Park says. “The fabric and color are carefully determined, and the quality is always discussed with the companies we work with, that have been in the industry for a long time. The design also is prioritized to be timeless rather than following a certain trend.”
Blossom’s been touched by the Hallyu Wave: It’s been featured on popular Korean shows like “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and worn by celebs like singer Krystal Jung. Park argues that a healthy consumption of Korean culture — one filled with positive energy — will be vital to the industry’s success.
“Blossom gets a lot of compliments from those markets, and sometimes those shops buy our products,” she says. “The number of orders from individual customers has also increased a lot, too. I’m always thankful for that love.”
Through its pieces that can be worn by anyone at any time, Park ultimately wants to bond with the customer through Blossom.
“In a way, my clothes are my alter ego, and the people who wear them become friends with me,” she says.
Clove
Before becoming the CEO and director of Clove, Ju-Hyun Juen worked on the promotional team of a fashion brand for eight years. She’d think about changing jobs, but it wasn’t until she started learning how to play golf and tennis that the idea for her clothing brand came to be.
While searching for the right uniform — before people even coined the words golfcore and tenniscore — Juen had a difficult time finding pieces that fit her needs, budget and style.
“There were only expensive and ultra-fancy brands at the time,” she says. “The collections often had colorful details that I personally believed weren’t as versatile to wear in my daily life… I started with some core items according to my needs.”
That exercise birthed the recipe for what became Clove’s signature sporty look: chunky cable knits, cozy fleece pullovers, loose-fitted bottoms, embroidered fitted caps. It’s meant to fit into your wardrobe, whether you’re athletic or not.
“The reason why I chose our Instagram name as a ‘Clove Club’ and not just the brand name is that I wanted to create an online space where people can just enjoy this sort of lifestyle through our clothes,” she says.
Juen is confident that Korean fashion brands will continue to become more recognized in the future. But for now, she’s happy where things are headed.
“[The industry] is changing a lot to the point that when I meet people on work trips abroad, they know how to say ‘hello’ in Korean because they like K-Pop singers,” she syas. “I think [the Hallyu wave] helps to promote Korean brands in other countries, and I’m proud to see many of them doing well overseas. It makes me want to keep up with them.”
Eenk

Hye-Mee Lee loves word play: Eenk, the name of her brand, plays on the word “ink” in English, and was inspired by watching her father work in the printing press.
In the age of fast fashion and endless trend cycles, Eenk aims to bring refreshing pieces that customers can always have in their personal archives — anything from fuzzy colorful knits to vintage-inspired phone accessories. Lee’s love of language trickles into her designs, too: Eenk recently launched “The Letter Project,” which is series of styles around keywords designated for each letter of the alphabet, from A to Z. The brand has unveiled pieces for letters like B (for Beanie), C (for Clutch/Cap) and D (for Darling) – and so on. Once it hits Z, it’ll circle back to the very start to present a total collection titled A for All, A for Archive.

Like many during the pandemic, Lee was scared and at times felt that fashion was useless in the face of disaster. She wanted to create something hopeful through Eenk — and so, “S for Somewhere” was born.
“Since we couldn’t travel during that time, I remember I wanted to create looks that people would want to wear to go out or travel in,” Lee says. “We touched on the theme that satisfies that fantasy.” It was the brand’s best-selling collection yet.
Seoul’s fashion industry — and the Asian clothing market in general — is growing rapidly, and Lee’s not afraid of that expansion. If not anything, she wants more of it.
“I really hope that K-fashion brands will become more popular in the global market because I don’t see much of them right now in the ‘world stage,’” she says. “I’m looking forward to this growth and the time for it to happen is right now, in this moment.”
Expired Girl
Grounding its roots in Seoul, Expired Girl is a ready-to-wear brand inspired by memories from when designer Seohyun Lee was a teenager during the early 2000s.
“I wanted to mix the pop culture I’ve experienced during my school years and my interest in a variety of subcultures, and create a new mood,” Lee tells Fashionista. “The 2000s play a key role when planning for each season.”
Those nostalgic references translate to the silhouettes: Knit boleros, halter tops and pleated mini skirts are staples in the EP catalog. You’ll find a few punk-inspired tees in the mix, too. Its latest collection, “School Girl Goes Punk,” drew from the era’s rock culture, specifically, and utilized leftover fabric from the previous season to create pieces Lee thought a teenager obsessed with punk would wear.
Korea’s music landscape plays a huge role in the trend forecast, says Lee. “We wanted to give off a different mood from the existing K-fashion or the variety of styles of K-pop stars. Because Korean fashion trends are more conservative than in the west, some could think our clothes are more revealing than the existing trends,” she explains. “But with celebrities like Blackpink’s Jennie, Red Velvet’s Joy, and IU wearing our clothes, we were able to see the start of the Y2K fashion trends here in Korea.”
Kaimin

By Kaimin‘s own telling, the story of her namesake brand is a bit funny.
The Korean-Japanese designer created her very first capsule as an experiment, as part of a multi-sensory art project called Zero Zero Vol. 02, which she worked on alongside Nicola Formichetti, Miles Aldridge and Daniel Arsham’s Snarkitecture. Then, Beyoncé ended up wearing some of the pieces in her music video for “Grown Woman.” That gave her the confidence to create a full collection.
“Since then, I’ve been fortunate to work closely with many of my idols,” she says, listing off a few: Björk for her tour and an Art Basel Miami performance, Lady Gaga for various concerts and music videos, Nicki Minaj, Blackpink.
Kaimin’s design is rooted in a few core principles: innovation and technology; diversity and inclusivity; unrestricted creative community and cross-functional collaborations that reach far beyond fashion. Currently, she’s interested in the intersection of reality, VR/AR, digital art, 3-D printing and more.
“Fashion is directly influenced by the culture it originates in, and I love that every place on our planet has its own unique style,” she says. “I don’t really think about changing the Korean or any other fashion landscape.” What’s more important, she argues, is to simply share her creations with the world: “There’s plenty of room for all of us, and I love joining forces with local trendsetters to create something new and fun together!”
Kimhekim

After working at Paris’ Studio Berçot and honing his skills at Balenciaga, Kim In-Te Kimhekim birthed his namesake brand, which is based in Seoul, in 2014.
Kimhekim draws inspiration from traditional Korean costumes (think Hanbok-style shapes), as well as Renaissance art motifs. While you can find wardrobe staples like turtlenecks, dress-shirts and trench coats, the brand is also rooted in sculpture and volume: oversized collars, larger-than-life ribbon bows, fluffy gowns — everyday items elevated through craftsmanship and surprising materials (like fake hair for Fall 2022 and upcycled denim for Spring 2023).
Over the years, Kim’s designs have been worn by the likes of Blackpink’s Rosé, Ho-Yeon Jung, Gigi Hadid and other renowned celebs. More recently, it’s landed on the new class of rising starlets — specifically NewJeans.
“I love their energy and their potential,” he says, noting that after the girl group wore Kimhekim pieces in a photo shoot, “we got a lot of attention from their fans. I’m looking forward to seeing how K-Pop continues to affect the fashion industry.”
The Studio K

Hye-Jin Hong didn’t always plan on starting a fashion brand. In fact, when she was young, her dream was to be a scientist.
“Even while attending art school, I always thought that science and design are basically similar,” the RISD alum says. “It’s all about making concrete ideas — verifying, modifying, learning, feeling and producing results in the process. I wanted to create a fashion brand that also thinks like a scientist.”
Ever since her first collection for The Studio K in 2009, she’s worked towards achieving a modern sensibility that marries design and technology by always looking towards the future (AR try-ons, holographic catwalks, parametric fabrication) and while remaining rooted in classic silhouettes, like sleek blazers, puffers and knits.
“From the beginning of the brand, various K-Pop stars like Girls’ Generation, CNBLUE, AOA and others have worn our designs for stage costumes and in music videos,” she says. “It would be good to think about ways to create synergy between Korean designers and K-pop stars.”
BTS fans – it is a special day today. Kim Seokjin who goes by the stage name Jin celebrates his birthday today. He turns 30 and of course, how can BTS ARMY keep calm? On Twitter, he is trending with full power. The star got in touch with his fans through Weverse and even cut his birthday cake. Fans are tripping over how he cut his cake. He got two adorable cakes and the cartoon one he cut with his palm, right in between. BTS Jin leaves everyone laughing with his cake-cutting skills
K-pop superstar Jin will begin his mandatory military service next month, a source with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed Friday, after the BTS singer appealed to the supergroup’s devoted fans to stay away from his South Korean army training center.
The source said the 29-year-old star, BTS’ oldest member, will enter service December 13 at Yeoncheon army base in the northern Gyeonggi province.
Military service is compulsory in South Korea, where almost all able-bodied men are required to serve in the army for 18 months by the time they are 28 years old.
South Korea’s parliament passed a bill in 2020 allowing pop stars – namely those who “excel in popular culture and art” – to defer their service until the age of 30.
Jin’s service will begin with a five-week basic training course before being assigned to a unit, based on standard practice.
The move had been widely expected.
Last month, BTS’ record label said that all seven members of the group were planning to undertake military service and Jin – who turns 30 on December 4 – would be the first to enlist.
On Thursday, Jin posted a message on fan community app Weverse, urging fans not to visit the military training center to get a glimpse of him amid reports of his impending enlistment. He did not deny the reports in the post.
“Reports have come out against my will, but our ARMYs (BTS fans), should not come to the training center,” he wrote. “It could be dangerous because the place will be crowded with many people besides me who are coming. ARMY, I love you.”
BTS has been frequently compared to The Beatles, even breaking one of the English rock band’s records with three Billboard No. 1 albums in a single year.
Their devoted fan base calls themselves the “BTS Army,” propelling their music and coming to their defense on social media in 2019 when the group was shut out from Grammy nominations. They have been nominated for three Grammy Awards in 2023.
With their military service looming, BTS said in June it would press pause to pursue solo projects. The group is expected to reconvene in 2025, according to their record label.

BTS member Kim Taehyung was in the news from May to September for his alleged dating rumours with Blackpink rapper Jennie Kim. The whole thing got rather disgusting with a spate of leaked pics that were allegedly hacked from the phone of the Blackpink star. There was no confirmation on the dating rumors from Big Hit Music or YG Entertainment. The latter however hinted at a breach of privacy. The rumours also sparked off toxic fights between BTS fans and Blackpink stans on social media. Jennie Kim’s dating history was dissected, and even GD Dragon, Jimin and Bang PD names were dragged into the whole mess.
The whole thing does not look like it will end soon. Of late, there are many tweets from rival fans blatantly body-shaming the two idols. As we know, Kim Taehyung aka BTS V is hailed as one of the world’s Most Handsome Men while Jennie Kim of Blackpink is termed as desirable by many magazine and polls. Both are music superstars and global icons in their own right. It looks like the whole thing started after Jennie Kim’s latest advertisement pics that got millions of likes. She was seen posing in Calvin Klein underwear. Take a look at the tweets…
Well, some ARMYs are clearly not impressed. As we know, body-shaming can be very damaging. The K-Pop scene is under a lot of scrutiny for how skinny most of the idols are. Genuine music fans told people to focus on the songs instead of going there….
Armys let’s not compare tae’s body with jennie’s. V is a singer let’s compare his skills instead.
We can see that the comments are quite disparaging. Blackpink and Jennie Kim are now in the US while Kim Taehyung of BTS is planning on his debut album. He might also travel to Mexico for a variety show as per rumours.
It is a sad day for Korea. Last night, a terrible tragedy happened in Itaewon where people had gone to celebrate Halloween. There was a stampede that has left 151 dead, and the number of injured are close to 200. The President of Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol has announced national mourning till November 5. The telecast of all entertainment events has been postponed. Big Hit Music made an announcement that the Stationhead Listening Party for Astronaut has been cancelled. They have postponed the release of the Lyric Video too. It is understandable given the wave of grief in the nation. The saddest part is that the people dead are mostly teenagers or people in their 20s.
BTS member JHope had put up a funny post for Halloween but deleted it after the news broke out. All entertainment shows have been stopped. It seems a crowd of 100K had gathered in a narrow alley in Seoul’s Itaewon area. The locality which is a hub for locals and foreigners is known for Halloween parties. A number of people went there in costumes. It is not known what exactly triggered off the stampede. Now, survivors are sharing scary details of how the tragedy unfolded.
BTS member Jin is yet to get back to Korea from Argentina. He performed with Coldplay at the stadium in Buenos Aires. The singer gave an emotional performance before a packed crowd. Halloween is a big event in the K-Pop industry. We have parties held by agencies where idols turn up in costumes. This is the second terrible tragedy in Korea where young people lost their lives. The Seoul Ferry Tragedy is one of the worst involving young people.
The longstanding debate is over — the seven members of BTS will fulfil their legal duty to perform military service in South Korea.
BigHit Music, the management company responsible for the internationally successful K-pop band, released a statement on Monday confirming the member’s upcoming miliary service.
For years, BTS fans have called for the members — Park Jimin, Kim Seok-jin (Jin), Jeon Jung-kook, Kim Nam-joon (RM), Min Yoon-gi (Suga), Jung Ho-seok (J-Hope) and Kim Tae-hyung (V) — to be exempt from mandatory service for their contributions to the South Korean economy and country’s reputation.
However, as is mandatory of all able-bodied South Korean men, the members of BTS will each serve almost two years in the military.

“Group member Jin will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October,” BTS’ management wrote in the statement. “He will then follow the enlistment procedure of the Korean government. Other members of the group plan to carry out their military service based on their own individual plans.”
The two-time Grammy nominated band BTS will regroup “around 2025” when all seven men have finished military service, their management claimed.
In June, the members of BTS announced they would pause their group activities to pursue solo projects.
The break now allows the members to fulfil the South Korean military requirement for all men under 30 to serve between 18 and 21 months. (The members of BTS were all born between 1993 and 1997.)

Refusing military service is a crime in South Korea that carries a possible jail sentence and negative social stigma.
The South Korean government has long since upheld that military service must be mandatory to protect against possible attack from North Korea. The two countries are still technically at war and have been since the 1950s.
There have only been a very select few South Koreans exempted from military service because of their international careers, including pianist Seong-jin Cho and Tottenham footballer Son Heung-min.
Earlier this year, BTS released their first anthology album Proof.
“We support and encourage our artists and are beyond proud that they will each now have time to explore their unique interests and do their duty by being of service to the country they call home,” wrote BTS’ agency.
The agency referenced the BTS song Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment), writing that the ballad “is more than a track from their latest album, it is a promise, there’s much more yet to come in the years ahead from BTS.”
