Jax Taylor Claims He and Brittany Cartwright Were Never Really Married, Actually

    Photo: Gabe Ginsberg/Getty Images

Once again, we have all been Jaxed. In new court documents obtained by Page Six, Vanderpump Rules and The Valley star Jax Taylor is claiming that he and Brittany Cartwright were never legally married. That’s right, a whole season of TV plus a murder mystery dinner party in the Kentucky Castle, all for naught! In the filing, Taylor also gave Cartwright full physical custody of their son, Cruz. According to the documents, the couple’s only shared asset is their home (and shooting location) in Valley Village.

Cartwright was the first to announce the couple’s separation, in February of this year. At the time, Taylor was emphatic that the pair were not divorcing. Which may be true? If they were never technically married. This is the second VPR marriage that turned out to not be legal. In the same season when Jax and Brittany got married, Tom Schwartz claimed that he’d failed to file his marriage license to Katie Maloney when they wed in 2016. It’s beginning to seem like what we see on reality TV…might not be the full truth. What else is a lie? is Lance Bass even ordained?

Wait, Now Jax Taylor Says He’s ‘Working Things Out’ With Brittany Cartwright?? What About Her New Man?! – Perez Hilton

Jax Taylor is all over the place!

Right after putting his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright on blast for hooking up with another man following their split in February, The Valley star has returned to X (Twitter) to clarify where things stand! After posting a photo of Brittany and their son Cruz sleeping in bed together, a fan wondered if this meant the co-parents were “back together.” The former model revealed:

“we are working things out.. what you saw was filmed months ago…”

    Wow! Uh, really?!

And here’s the photo that sparked the question:

    (c) Jax Taylor/Twitter

We knew making amends was the intention behind the split, but everything else we’ve heard from Jax lately suggested that they were nowhere near reconciling! As mentioned, just hours earlier, the bar owner wrote in a since-deleted tweet:

“you may want to ask brittany who she’s been sleeping with for the past 4 months…”

He totally called her out!! Especially since this shady post came shortly after he confirmed on the couple’s joint podcast, When Reality Hits, that they have permission to date during this break. And yet he’s seemingly mad that she’s hooking up with someone else? Make it make sense!

During that same podcast, the VPR alum also said he wasn’t ready to start seeing other people — and denied Paige Woolen romance rumors — but insinuated that Britt had moved on, noting:

“That is not to say Brittany isn’t doing what she’s doing. I know it’s not out there what she is doing, but she’s doing her own thing, too.”

It all felt a little like Jax was just trying to get haters off his back. And now what? Do y’all think they’re really making progress… or does Jax just want us to think that? So far, the internet is pretty divided on this! Tons of fans were thrilled to hear the positive update, commenting:

“Pulling for you Jax. You’ve got a great family. Your boy is an absolute gem”

“We’re on your side. Good luck! Also, Bro, go to therapy. You need a couples therapist and one for yourself”

“Britney is the best woman you will ever have. I hope you figure out what YOU need to do to be a better husband”

Though not everyone was convinced, one person teased:

“Anything for a season two, huh Jason.”

Oof. After everything we saw play out on screen and from what we’ve heard from Brittany, it would seem rather fast for them to be suddenly okay again! But you never know… What’s your hot take on this?! Share it (below)!

  • Brittany Cartwright Goes OFF After Reading Comments About Her & Jax Taylor’s 3-Year-Old Son Cruz’s ‘Well-Being’! – Perez Hilton

Brittany Cartwright Goes OFF After Reading Comments About Her & Jax Taylor’s 3-Year-Old Son Cruz’s ‘Well-Being’! – Perez Hilton

Brittany Cartwright has had “enough” of everyone criticizing her 3-year-old son Cruz!

On Tuesday, the 35-year-old reality star took to Instagram Stories to defend her little guy after seeing a bunch of comments about his well-being amid her separation from Jax Taylor. And she went into full-on mama bear mode with this post! Brittany wrote:

“You guys can reel in the drama of my life I don’t care but leave my innocents [sic] sons name out of it!!! Dont act like you know anything about him watching 30 mins of a show recorded last summer. I do everything I possibly can for him so how dare some of you!? ENOUGH he is a perfect and innocent child and I will not have strangers acting like they know what’s going on in his life. Talk about me talk about his father I don’t care but enough is enough!!!!!!”

Go off, Britt! See the post (below):

As you know, Brittany ended things with Jax in February after experiencing problems in their marriage, like constant fighting! The pair are no longer living together. They have taken no steps in trying to repair their relationship so far. And Jax seemingly moved on from Brittany, as he was seen with model Paige Woolen and another mystery woman. Ugh. So much for trying to win her back! That plan has gone out the window, apparently!

No matter what is going on between her and Jax amid their messy breakup, the former couple insisted their main priority is Cruz — always. They’ve made sure to co-parent amicably during this time. Which is why she was very hurt after reading what people said about Cruz on the internet! A source told People:

“It hurts Brittany to read comments about her son’s well-being. She is highly protective over her son as any caring mother would be. Despite what she is going through personally in her marriage, her and Jax have always and continue to put their son first.”

At the end of the day, the insider said, Cruz is “a happy child,” all thanks to both Jax and Brittany:

“He remains their number one priority and they have done a great job co-parenting during this rather turbulent time. They are both incredibly attentive and loving parents and give Cruz absolutely everything he needs. He is a happy child and that’s all that really matters.”

Basically, Brittany wants everyone to keep her son’s name out of their mouths! Unless you want her to unleash her wrath again! Reactions to her message, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments.

Katie Maloney shaded Tom Sandoval and Jax Taylor over their interview for Watch What Happens Live, accusing them of “lying” as fans reacted.

During the episode, Tom shared his side of the story concerning the aftermath of his split with Ariana Madix – Katie’s good friend. Jax is also at odds with Katie after she spread rumors on Vanderpump Rules that he allegedly cheated on wife Brittany Cartwright.

On her Instagram Stories, Katie reacted to the interview.

She first asked her friend and podcast host Dayna Kathan for a comment.

“Liar!” said Dayna into the camera in a video shared by @tasteof_reality on Instagram. “Liars!”

“These men just be lying,” Katie agreed. “We’re watching Watch What Happens Live, in case you’re wondering.”

“Does anyone else have the cringe?” asked Dayna. “I have the cringe!”

Around the same time, Katie posted a photo of her Something About Her sandwich shop with its signage above the doors.

Katie and Ariana recently revealed that the sandwich shop will officially open on May 22.

Regarding Katie’s reaction to Jax and Tom’s interview, fans shared their thoughts in the comments.

“It was freaking painful to watch. I really only half listened as I stuffed my cheeks [with] junk food,” wrote one user.

“Of course they went on there to lie! That’s why they’re on together. To back up and not poke holes in each others lies. Period,” speculated another.

“Except when Jax called Scheana a good husband. That was accurate and hilarious,” said a different user.

Other fans were more critical of Katie.

“Stop being on a Reality TV show if you don’t want anyone (even if it’s that A**hat Jax) to comment on your life or choices,” expressed one. “Just go back to being yourself before Reality TV decided how you should be.”

“Katie Katie Katie.. its Katies way or highway.. ITS NOT YOUR HIGHWAY KATIE!! Exit left,” wrote a different viewer.

“Katie never has anything nice or positive to say,” said another.

Scheana Shay Addresses Where She Stands With Katie, Claim Katie Never Liked Her, & Jax Cheating Rumor, Plus If She Was Upset at Lala for Reaching Out to Rachel,

    Credit: Bravo

Scheana Shay opened up about her relationship with Katie Maloney, and the claim that Katie has never liked her, on an episode of her podcast last Friday.

While also addressing a cheating rumor about Jax Taylor, 44, and his publicist, revealing if she was upset that Lala Kent, 33, reached out to Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 29, after she filed a restraining order against her, and admitting to fears about Lala and Brock Davies, 33, the Vanderpump Rules star, 38, offered an update on her friendship with Katie, 37.

“I don’t think that’s true. I mean, you’d have to ask her,” Scheana said when asked about Katie “never” liking her on the April 26 episode of Scheananigans. “Katie and I have had a lot of great moments together. And when it’s just Katie and I, we get along great, and we enjoy each other’s company.”

According to Scheana, she and Katie had a sushi date during season 11. And, while she was “very nervous” going into the meeting, they had an enjoyable time.

“I came out if it and I was like, ‘Wow, we haven’t hung out one-on-one in a long time’ … I feel like we have had a lot of good moments. We have a complicated dynamic [but] when the outside noise is removed, we can be good,” she explained, adding, “The problem is, it’s always noisy.”

While Scheana said she and Katie will likely never be “best friends,” she’s happy they can be “cool and cordial.”

“We can have fun. We can get along, but we don’t need to be best friends,” she stated.

When someone else wanted to know her thoughts on the swirling rumor about Jax and his publicist, Lori, both of whom Brittany Cartwright, 35, recently unfollowed, Scheana didn’t say much.

”I think this is something Brittany will address when she’s ready and give you her reasoning,” she shared. “I’m not gonna speak on rumors floating around, but I will say, I can’t imagine a worse scenario.”

“It’s great when you get to do business with your partner but then if things don’t work out, that’s the hardest part,” she added, giving a nod to Jax and Brittany’s bar, Jax’s Studio City.

During an early episode of Pump Rules season 11, Lala was seen reaching out to Raquel after her affair with Tom Sandoval, 41, and her restraining order against Scheana.

Looking back, Scheana said she understood why Lala reached out.

“Also, I think if Raquel would’ve come back around or would’ve responded to Lala, I think that whole issue would’ve also been discussed, and I know Lala would’ve had my back. So no, I was not upset at all,” she confirmed.

As Pump Rules fans well know,  Scheana and Lala are quite close, spending lots of time together with their daughters, Summer, 3, and Ocean, 3, respectively, and even being neighbors in Palm Springs, California. That said, it did cross her mind that Brock could cheat on her with Lala.

“It wasn’t that Sandoval put this idea in my head. It was that situation. If Sandoval could do this, could Brock do this? My OCD intrusive thoughts just started running wild, and that was one place I went. And it actually wasn’t even Sandoval. It was a comment on YouTube,” she shared. “It was a vlog I posted. I think [Brock] was maybe dancing with Summer and Ocean, and someone commented and was like, ‘Oh, the way Lala looks at Brock.’ And it was like, ‘You better watch out.’ And then it just got in my head but now it’s something we can laugh about together.”

“I trust both of [them] obviously, more than most anyone in my life. So I’m not worried about that anymore,” she added.

Also, on the podcast episode, after joking that “Rob,” meaning her ex-boyfriend, Robert Parks-Valletta, was the “most cringe” thing she’s said on Pump Rules, Scheana responded to Brock’s suggestion that it was her “gang bang” comment, explaining that there was more to the scene that fans didn’t see.

“I get in that van, I don’t know if we weren’t mic’d and maybe there was just a boom mic … Schwartz said, ‘If you get in this van, this is the gang bang van.’ And I then responded to him saying that, and said, ‘I’d rather be gang banged than in the car with those b*tches.’ I wasn’t getting along with any of those girls. He said it. I responded,” she revealed. “I guess that could go on … The list is too long.”

  • Katie Maloney Shares Real Reason Stassi Was Upset With Jax and Brittany, & Details Off-Camera Drama With Jax as Jax Suggests She’s “Up Stassi’s A**” While Brittany Speaks Out, Plus Ariana Reacts

Katie Maloney Shares Real Reason Stassi Was Upset With Jax and Brittany, & Details Off-Camera Drama With Jax as Jax Suggests She’s “Up Stassi’s A**” While Brittany Speaks Out, Plus Ariana Reacts

Katie Maloney is setting the record straight about Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark‘s ongoing estrangement from Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright.

After Jax, 44, was seen confronting her about spreading cheating rumors on the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules, Katie, 37, looked back on the moments that led up to Jax and Brittany, 35, suddenly pulling out of Stassi, 35, and Beau’s wedding as Jax slammed her for cutting ties with Brittany — and for being “up Stassi’s a**.”

“[Jax] did tell me [about his fight with Katie] and I was upset because I was like, ‘Why? Why are you doing this?’ I don’t like confrontation and stuff … I get that he might be taking up for me or whatever but I didn’t ask him to do that,” Brittany shared on the April 23 episode of the Pump Rules: After Show.

“You better believe I went off on her,” Jax said. “My wife’s always trying to rack her brain, ‘Why is Katie mad at me?’ For her not to respond to her texts or messages, it hurt her. She was a big part of her life. And the fact that she just abandoned her after the fact that we didn’t go to Stassi and Beau’s wedding, that you just wrote her off, that bothers me. You had no part of that situation. So you’re mad just to be mad, or just because you’re up Stassi’s a**.”

“It’s one of the two. That’s the only two reasons I can think of,” he added as Tom Sandoval, 41, noted that flying to Italy for Stassi and Beau’s May 2022 nuptials was a “f*cking expensive trip,” especially so soon after Jax and Brittany exited Pump Rules.

“We just had a child. [It was] in the middle of COVID,” Jax added.

But Tom Schwartz, 40, clarified, “The reason they were so pissed is that you canceled last second.”

Looking back, Katie said that prior to traveling to Europe for Stassi and Beau’s wedding, she, Brittany, and the bride were “making plans and arrangements.” However, she couldn’t help but notice that something seemed off with Brittany.

“She was very sort of avoiding the questions and didn’t really want to get involved in the planning of it all, but she would still,” Katie explained. “She’d get excited and talk about it. But then right up until like the days before, she became very avoidant of it all. So then the morning that we’re all supposed to go to Italy, Brittany sends a message saying, ‘Oh my God, we’re not going to be able to make it, we didn’t get the passport in time, yada, yada, yada. Just excuse, excuse, excuse.’”

Still, Jax insisted he wasn’t “trying” to get out of going.

“I wasn’t gonna go because my son didn’t have a passport,” he explained. “We thought we were gonna get the expedited passport for Cruz. It didn’t come. So I said, ‘You know what? Somebody from our family needs to be at this wedding. So, Brittany, why don’t you call your mom, you guys you. I’ll stay back.’ And then when Brittany’s mom’s best friend’s husband died, it was just like, ‘You know what? It’s not in the cards for us to go.’”

Although Jax suggested that his decision to stay home was a last-minute one, Katie hinted that he had teased his pulling out in text messages shared with mutual friends.

“There was group chats where Jax was very openly talking about how they’re not going to the wedding; they had a golf tournament they’re doing instead,” she revealed. “It was just very kind of rude the way he was just speaking so freely to other people, not thinking it would get back to either of them.”

While Jax admitted to handling the situation “completely wrong,” he confirmed he apologized to Stassi and Beau, 44.

“Is it a reason to squash and ruin a whole friendship over? I don’t think so. I don’t know what else I can do. I beg. I plead,” he shared.

Overall, Katie said it was the amount of lies Jax and Brittany allegedly told that put her off to the now-estranged couple.

“I just feel like there were so many lies, and I don’t like lies. I just, I f*cking hate lies, man. Like, nothing more than that. So I’m just like, ‘You know, I need a break’ … and also Jax has just been such a f*cking a**hole to me for like no reason,” she stated. “I think one time Schwartz accidentally posted the name of their kid and he didn’t talk to him for like months, and then he decided not to talk to me. I got roped into it somehow while I was throwing Brittany a baby shower. I had literally nothing to do with it. He just is such a f*cking a**hole. I was just ready for a break.”

According to Katie, she didn’t intend for her break from Brittany to be permanent, but after going through her divorce from Schwartz and hearing nothing from Brittany, she’d had enough.

“[Brittany] never checked in on me, never once asked me anything. So I was like, you know, I’m good on you,” she explained, clarifying that Brittany did reach out to her when she moved.

“You can’t say she didn’t reach out because she did,” Lala Kent, 33, stated, defending Brittany. “You don’t get to decide how and when and what people say when they reach out. It’s sometimes hard to gauge with Katie because you’re like, ‘How do I approach this? Should I reach out? And if I reach out, is the timing okay? Is what I said okay?’ It becomes very intimidating.”

“Very intimidating,” Brittany agreed. “And I feel like she was the matron of honor in my wedding. Like, I love her so much. I still have a lot of love for her. But it’s just like, crazy how we just don’t talk anymore.”

Also speaking of Katie and Brittany’s estrangement, Ariana Madix, 38, said she remembered a time when they were all together and Brittany was “really sad” about their falling out.

“We were all together and she was really upset. I just remember her being really sad about it,” Ariana stated, then asking Katie if she and Brittany spoke after her and Jax’s confrontation.

“No,” she confirmed. “And they did a watch thing for the show, [and] she goes, ‘Oh my God, I didn’t know Katie was going through all this?’ Who picked up the phone then? She could’ve picked up the phone at any point but then there’s a sweaty f*cking dude in my face just screaming at me like I’m the worst person on the planet.”

“I’m good on both of them. They can have their time,” Katie added.

Brittany Cartwright Shares Why She Isn’t Close With Stassi and Katie, Her Regret, and If They’ve Reached Out Since Her Separation, Plus Jax Doesn’t Want His Split Compared to Lally’s

    Credit: Instagram

Brittany Cartwright addressed why she isn’t as close with Stassi Schroeder and Katie Maloney, and she hinted that Michelle and Jesse Lally have been “separated for a while” – though they just disclosed it before The Valley’s premiere.

Brittany, Stassi, and Katie were once good friends on Vanderpump Rules, though Brittany has since fallen out with them. Of the three, only Katie has remained on the original show.

“Neither [Stassi or Katie] has reached out to me,” said Brittany on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, via @Byewighellodrama, when asked if her relationship with the co-stars has changed since her split with husband Jax Taylor.

“I know that we didn’t go to Stassi’s wedding and that was like a big deal,” she said after being asked why they’re no longer close. “But Katie absolutely no reason why she wouldn’t be talking to me. Like, we’ve never had an argument, never had a fight.”

Brittany believes part of it is that Katie “doesn’t like Jax,” and Jax is a “big wedge” between her, Stassi, and Katie.

Despite everything, Brittany said she hopes they can all be friends again, and she misses Stassi “a lot.”

She was eventually asked if she regrets not attending Stassi’s wedding.

“That was a huge part between me and Jax that like nobody knows about,” she said. “It was bad.”

Though Brittany regrets not going, she hinted that Jax was being “Jax.” She explained, however, that there were other obstacles at the time. Her mom, for example, couldn’t accompany them to Italy to watch her son because her mom’s best friend’s husband had just passed away.

What’s more, Jax was also writing in “group chats” – which Stassi and Beau found out about, though Brittany had “no idea.” Jax’s alleged actions made it seem that Brittany knew they wouldn’t attend the wedding.

On the Housewives Nightcap podcast, Brittany also addressed how castmates Jesse and Michelle went public with their separation just before the premiere.

“They’ve actually been separated for a while. They’ve been separated longer than Jax and I have,” said Brittany, who’s been living apart from Jax for several months.

Brittany explained that she and Michelle have gotten close because they’re in “such a similar situation,” and Michelle knows how Brittany “is feeling.”

“Whoa whoa whoa. Let’s be very clear,” Jax interrupted, via @Breakingtherulespod on Instagram. “It could be very similar but it’s very different at the same time.”

Jax added that he doesn’t want the situations to be compared.

Kristen Doute then teased that fans will see “Jesse and Michelle’s relationship play out pretty much to the bitter … The viewers will get to see all of that.”

Brittany clarified that Michelle and Jesse are “done done” – while Brittany and Jax don’t “know what our future holds.”

  • Brittany Cartwright Shares New Details of Her and Jax’s “Last Fight,” Accuses Him of Lying About Her Having Stroke, and Talks Return of “Old Jax,” If She’s Still in Love, and Her Dream Guy

Brittany Cartwright Shares New Details of Her and Jax’s “Last Fight,” Accuses Him of Lying About Her Having Stroke, and Talks Return of “Old Jax,” If She’s Still in Love, and Her Dream Guy

    Credit: Bravo

Brittany Cartwright looked back on her and Jax Taylor‘s “last fight” before their separation during an interview earlier this week.

Weeks after confirming their split on their joint podcast, Brittany, 35, who is currently starring alongside Jax, 44, on The Valley, a spinoff of Vanderpump Rules, opened up about her “breaking point” with her estranged husband as she also reflected on his claims of her having a stroke and dished on her dream guy.

“I’ve forgiven Jax for things that I shouldn’t have over the years. I stood by him no matter what. But after nine years, that can wear on you,” Brittany began in an April 9 interview with Us Weekly.

Three months after separating, Brittany admitted that Jax likely thought she would “come right back” before sharing details about the fight that prompted her to leave.

“The night that I went out with [Kristen Doute], I came home at 10 o’clock [and] he didn’t come home ‘til 4 o’clock in the morning … I don’t know if he was hungover the next morning or what, but he comes in and starts a huge fight with me,” she revealed. “He, like, made a story up in his head that [Kristen’s boyfriend], [Luke Broderick], was reaching out to him saying we were already having issues in our marriage at that time.”

According to Brittany, who noted that Jax wants her to keep everything to herself when it comes to their relationship, Luke never actually texted Jax.

“He just made up this big story to sort of fight with me the next morning because he was having insecurities in his own head,” she explained. “[So] I was like, ‘OK, this is insane. I cannot deal with this. This is obviously a toxic situation. If you don’t get help, then me and [our son Cruz] are not going to be living here right now.’ Because it just didn’t feel it didn’t feel right.”

Fueling Brittany and Jax’s marriage problems in recent months has been the opening of their new bar, Jax’s Studio City.

“If we were to be drinking, or anything like that, we were always going to be fighting. Stuff like that’s always not good if you’re already in a bad place,” Brittany noted. “I’m not saying he shouldn’t be at the bar. But there has to be a limit on how late you stay or how often you go.”

As things between them got worse after filming the debut season of The Valley, Brittany said Jax began “staying at the bar more.” Additionally, talks stalled about having more kids — as did their sex life.

“We weren’t being intimate. … We were getting on each other’s nerves,” she shared. “It was messing with my confidence — why is he not coming on to me? I felt like I wasn’t good enough. If you start to feel like your partner doesn’t want you and they’re also being mean to you, it’s like, ‘What am I doing here?’”

“He would say, ‘I’m 44 and I’m tired.’ I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, everybody has kids, and not everybody’s going through this!’” she continued. “I can’t talk to him about things; he always goes on the defensive. He doesn’t care about my side.”

Brittany also became frustrated after seeing that Jax had said she had a stroke on House of Villains.

“It was very embarrassing, and he doesn’t really understand,” Brittany stated. “To him, he would be like, ‘Well, I just care about you. I was so worried about you. I care about you so much. Like, I was just telling a story.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, but you added that I, for sure, had a stroke and you knew at that point that I didn’t.’ So you just lied on a TV show. That’s harmful to me.”

“He acknowledged it but then he’s always like, ‘I said sorry.’ He likes to think that just saying, ‘I’m sorry,’ will be fine and we should move on,” she added. “I can’t do that now, this is too serious. And if things don’t change, then we can’t be together because we’re gonna be unhappy for the rest of our lives.”

Following their return to television, Brittany felt that Jax “got a bit of a big head again.”

“He’d made a lot of changes for Cruz, but he started being the old Jax [again]. All season long I wanted to be with him and then things got continually worse,” she shared.

Jax even threw their TV return in Brittany’s face, reportedly telling her, “I got us a show,” to make her feel like she “wouldn’t have anything without him.”

Although Brittany put up with Jax’s shenanigans, including his affair with Faith Stowers, for many years, she reassessed their marriage after welcoming son Cruz in April 2021.

“I realized I wanted more in a relationship. I need to make sure Cruz isn’t living in a house where his parents are fighting; that could be a horrible way to grow up,” she reasoned.

As for whether she’s still in love with Jax, Brittany said, “I am. But it’s different.”

“I was very naive in the beginning on Vanderpump Rules. I was on a TV show, being embarrassed by Jax, but I was madly in love, and I just wanted to be with him. I’m different now. I can stand up for myself and not take his sh*t anymore,” she declared.

While Brittany confirmed that a reconciliation between her and Jax is possible, she added that “a lot of things” need to happen first.

“Things are in his hands if he’s going to fix some things in our relationship, so we will see,” she said. “I’m not seeing enough effort from his side. He needs to go to therapy. He doesn’t need to be staying out at the bar all the time. He needs to respect me more and stop taking me for granted.”

He also needs to stop making Brittany feel like his “punching bag.”

“He was always giving me jabs. I can’t deal with that for the rest of my life,” she stated. “He’s never satisfied. We have our son and this beautiful home, the bar, and a successful podcast, and he still needs more. He’s gone to doctors and complains that he needs help but then never goes back. I had to pick up the pieces all the time. It’s very frustrating.”

“I won’t waste my time and get back into a toxic situation. Now the veil has been lifted and I see how much I was always cleaning up Jax’s messes. I’m thrown in the middle of all these fights and constantly forced to apologize for him in the media and to friends. It’s hard,” she went on.

Looking ahead to their future, Brittany said if she and Jax end up divorcing, she’d love to stay in their home with Cruz.

In the meantime, she’s focused on co-parenting.

“If this ends in a divorce, we will discuss what happened with him later in life. We’re not fighting in front of him and we try to do fun things like the aquarium and the zoo. I feel like Cruz is happier that we’re not in the same house right now — and that tells me a lot,” she noted.

Moving on to dating, Brittany said that while it’s “weird to even think about,” she has considered what she’d be looking for in a future partner.

“I need someone who has their stuff together, who is confident and respectful and makes me laugh. It’s going to be difficult because I am so in the public eye,” she explained. “[Jax and I have talked about dating] here and there. We act like it would be OK, but I’m not sure. I think he’d freak out if he saw me with a man. I’d be upset, too. You can get over those things, but the first one might be strange.”

Following their split, Brittany said she’s gotten support from the entire The Valley cast, including Kristen, and Pump Rules stars Scheana Shay and Lala Kent.

“I’m trying to stay busy working out, spending time with my friends and talking to my family. I’m focusing on my mental and physical health. This revenge body is about to be insane! I’m getting my sparkle back,” she concluded.

The Valley season one airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.

Brittany Cartwright Details “Horrible Fight” With Jax That Led to Split, Talks Rumors of Him Cheating & Admits She’s “Not Sure” He’s Capable of Monogamy, Plus If Bar Played Role in Separation, & If They’re in Therapy

Brittany Cartwright opened up about the moments that led to her separation from Jax Taylor on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night.

As host Andy Cohen, 55, asked her a series of questions about their breakup, Brittany, 35, admitted she and Jax, 44, were fighting all the time and had created a “toxic” environment at home before their split as she also spoke of their bar, Jax’s Studio City, her feelings about therapy, and how she’s doing without him.

“We just had a horrible fight and it was like a veil was lifted and I noticed everything wrong. They always say a woman can hit her breaking point and then it’s hard to come back from that,” Brittany revealed of her and Jax’s separation on the April 2 episode of WWHL. “He kinda woke up one morning and was mad that I went out with [Kristen Doute] the night before and kind of like made up a story in his head and started a fight over something that never happened.”

Although that particular fight was the straw that broke the camel’s back, Brittany said there were many before it.

“It got to the point where we fought about everything. A cabinet would be open and I was mad that he didn’t shut a cabinet. It could be anything at that point. It was just a very toxic situation that I felt like I needed to remove myself from,” she explained.

While there have been claims of potential infidelity, Brittany said she “did all the digging” and “made sure” she hadn’t been cheated on.

“[Janet Caperna], from The Valley, she like, dove in and was like ‘Let’s figure everything out,’ so we already knew that wasn’t true,” she confirmed. “I feel like there’s always rumors about Jax no matter what.”

According to Brittany, she doesn’t think Jax cheated on her but wonders if he would in the future.

“Mmmm I mean, I feel like he has been in our marriage so far but do I feel like he could for the rest of my life’? I’m not sure,” she admitted, noting that they are “still separated” and that she’s “still in the Airbnb.”

On the heels of the news of their separation, Jax denied that their bar was a factor in their split. But, on WWHL, Brittany hinted that wasn’t completely true.

“A little bit but I mean, if you do things the right way it’s not gonna affect your marriage,” she explained.

As she continues to navigate her new life as a single mom living away from Jax, Brittany, who confessed that “lots” of her friends were happy about the breakup, said they’ve been doing well co-parenting their 2-year-old son Cruz as she applauded Jax as a “great father.”

“That’s our main priority no matter what,” she stated.

As Vanderpump Rules fans will recall, Brittany and Jax were accused of staging their split to promote The Valley when it was first announced. But, as Brittany noted, she would never do such a thing.

“It was so hurtful for me because I feel like I’ve always shown my true character and I feel like why would anybody think I would do that, especially with my son. I would never put him through that for no reason, for a fake stunt. That doesn’t make sense,” she reasoned.

When Andy then asked if she and Jax were in therapy, Brittany confirmed they were not.

“That’s one of my things that I said needs to happen but no,” she shared.

Brittany went on to say that her and Jax’s sex life began to dwindle before Cruz’s birth and noted that things between them are currently “up in the air.”

“I feel like I’m really strong right now,” she said. “I feel like I’ve grown a lot in the past couple years, especially after having Cruz, I’ve gotten so much stronger and I feel like I deserve better. Also, watching myself back, even on the first couple episodes of The Valley, I’m constantly cleaning up messes because I’m ride or die for the people I love so I always try to bring people together and make things better but also people are watching it mad at me that I was doing that but that [is] my husband. But I notice these things now. So that’s the difference.”

  • We Finally Know If Vanderpump‘s Jax Taylor Cheated On Brittany Cartwright

We Finally Know If Vanderpump‘s Jax Taylor Cheated On Brittany Cartwright

It’s been the topic of so much conversation since the news broke in February 2024 and everyone wants to know if Jax Taylor cheated on Brittany Cartwright and if that’s the reason for their split. The Vanderpump Rules stars were together for 9 years and married in her home state of Kentucky in June 2019.

Vanderpump Rules is Bravo’s reality TV series following the personal and professional lives of the staff at Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR Restaurant & Lounge in Los Angeles. The series—which premiered as a spin-off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2013—started with original cast members including Jax. Brittany made her debut on Vanderpump Rules as a guest in Season 4. She was promoted to a recurring cast member in Season 5 and became a main cast member in Season 6. She left the series after Season 8.

Jax and Brittany’s marriage was documented on VPR after dating for four years. They welcomed their first child, their son Cruz, in April 2021. “I’ve never in my life thought it was going to be like this,” Jax wrote on Instagram. “It’s 10,000 times better. Dad mode just kicks in. I don’t think I have ever been as happy as I am right now, everything else in life seems so insignificant now. I am crying just writing this message.”

But on February 29, 2024, Brittany announced the seemingly happy couple were taking time apart. “I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health,” she said on her and Taylor’s podcast, When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany. Here’s if Jax Taylor cheated on Brittany Cartwright and if that’s the reason they broke up.

Did Jax Taylor cheat on Brittany Cartwright?

Did Jax Taylor cheat on Brittany Cartwright? No, by Cartwright’s own account, infidelity was not the reasl for their split. “Jax did not cheat on me, but we got into a very bad fight and I decided to pack up my stuff and I’ve been staying in an Airbnb since January 24,” she told E! News in an article published on March 19, 2024.

Why did Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright split?

Why did Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright split? In an interview with Page Six, Brittany gave her side of the story. “We’ve been together nine years, and people stop appreciating and take you for granted after some time — and that should never happen in a marriage,” she said. “So that’s what I’m trying to get back,” she continued, “and if it doesn’t come back, then we won’t get back together.”

Why did Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright split

It was ahead of the premiere of The Valley, her new show with Jax which premiered on March 19, 2024. She continued, “I think I just had to be like, ‘I’m hot as hell, and I’m not going to listen to this bulls—t anymore,’” she said.

When news of their split first broke, some fans accused the former couple of breaking up as a kind of publicity stunt as a way of promoting The Valley. But Jax himself told Bravo that’s not the case. “The most important thing is I don’t want people thinking this is a publicity stunt,” Jax told The Daily Dish. “I think when people start watching this show, and they understand that we started filming this almost a year ago, they’ll know that this kind of stuff has been happening with my wife and I — I would never use my family as a publicity stunt.”

Brittany previously told Page Six that she moved herself and Cruz into an Airbnb on January 24, 2024, and has since asked her estranged husband to do “four little things,” none of which he’s done. “I asked him to do little things — four little things — and … go to therapy was one of them. He hasn’t done that yet. So there’s little things that I’ve asked him to do. We’ll see if he does it all, but we’ll also see if it changes anything,” she said. “I’m not saying that I’m perfect by any means, but I had to step out and take care of myself and my son,” she said.

Brittany and Jax were allegedly fired from Vanderpump Rules in 2020 after he was took to Twitter to wrongfully accuse castmate Faith a crime she didn’t committ. When asked if he thought Faith would become a permanent part of the Vanderpump Rules cast, Jax said, “She’s wanted by the police for grand theft auto and ‘awol’ from military, bad idea to be on a reality show, dude … Someone’s going to jail.”

The married couple took to Instagram to announce their respective departures in December 2020; she was pregnant at the time. “The last 5 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Brittany wrote. “Although this is difficult to share, Jax and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules.”

In the series premiere, their couple-friends Danny and Nia are trying to juggle three kids under 2 years old. Jesse and Michelle are navigating the complicated world of being both toddler parents and business partners. When Brittany goes all out, throwing a lavish birthday party for best friend Janet, things take a turn for the worse when the group focuses less on the festivities and begin judging Kristen’s life-altering decisions.”

  • Brittany Cartwright Discusses Her “Breaking Point” With Jax Taylor & Admits Getting “Put Down Constantly,” Plus If a Reconciliation is Possible, Plus Says Son Cruz “Deserves Better” as Jax Talks Communication Issues

Brittany Cartwright Discusses Her “Breaking Point” With Jax Taylor & Admits Getting “Put Down Constantly,” Plus If a Reconciliation is Possible, Plus Says Son Cruz “Deserves Better” as Jax Talks Communication Issues

    Credit: Felix Kunze/Bravo

Brittany Cartwright opened up about her separation from Jax Taylor while attending Thursday’s premiere party for their upcoming Vanderpump Rules spinoff, The Valley.

Although Brittany, 35, didn’t want to specify the catalyst for the split, she confirmed Jax’s treatment was a major factor as she shared her thoughts on getting back together, described their marriage as unhealthy, and also said she and their 2-year-old son Cruz “deserve better.”

“Throughout the season, you’re going to see things here and there, and then it just got worse once the cameras went down,” Brittany explained to Entertainment Tonight on March 14. “I just kind of hit my breaking point, and I can only take so much after nine years.”

According to Brittany, her and Jax’s issues go back to years ago.

“I don’t know how much I can give away right now but just like being put down constantly,” she explained. “Honestly, I deserve to be lifted up like the queen that I am.”

While Brittany has spoken about a potential reconciliation with Jax and has a list of five things he would need to do for her to consider, she’s not sold on the idea of rekindling their romance.

“I go back and forth. I have my days where I’m like, of course, I would want to be — I have loved him and been through everything with him and stuck by his side through so much stuff,” she said. “But how much can one person take, you know? At the end of the day, Cruz is the most important thing in my life, and he is what matters.”

Jax is also uncertain about his future with Brittany but insists that their breakup was not fabricated for The Valley.

“I want to make it very clear that this is not a publicity stunt. I feel like this would be the most disgusting way to publicize your show, so I want to make that very clear, that’s not what’s going on here,” Jax said. “People go through tough things in their marriage, we’re trying to figure things out a little bit. But it doesn’t stop us working together, we’re adults.”

Leading up to their split, Jax said he and Brittany had “communication issues.” Still, when it comes to their current status, the two of them have been able to co-parent well.

“It doesn’t affect how we raise our child, it doesn’t affect our jobs — we’re a brand, we do things together, we’re adults,” he explained. “We just gotta work on marriage a little bit.”

After moving out of the $1.9 million home she and Jax bought in 2019, Brittany is residing in an Airbnb with Cruz.

“Something like clicked in my head, and I was like ‘I need to step away from this situation. This is not healthy. This is not a good situation. My son deserves better. I deserve better,’” Brittany explained to PEOPLE of her decision to move out. “I feel a little bit of relief. I needed this space.”

As Brittany continues “working on” herself, noting that her marriage was something she “needed to step back from,” she too denied the breakup was for the show.

“I’m all about family. I’m all about marriage. I’ve been about that my entire life,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Jax noted that he and Brittany thought the separation was “best for [their] family” because they have “been going through some things for a while now.”

“I’m not sure what the future holds for this. But as of right now, this is just the best-case scenario,” he shared, adding that they see each other every day and continue to run their businesses together.

“Nothing has really changed other than, we’re not sleeping in the same bed right now,” he revealed. “We can still be together. We’re just kind of taking a breather.”

The Valley season one premieres on Tuesday, March 19, on Bravo.

  • Is This Reality TV Dude Really The Face Of Assassin’s Creed’s Protagonist?

Is This Reality TV Dude Really The Face Of Assassin’s Creed’s Protagonist?

Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft’s long-running open-world RPG series, and Vanderpump Rules, Bravo’s long-running reality TV series, are connected—kind of. It’s rare that two of my biggest, most disparate interests collide so spectacularly as this, but here we are, and it’s all thanks to a man named Jax Taylor.

Taylor, one of the former stars of VPR (he left/was fired after season eight, depending upon who you ask) has been claiming for nearly 15 years that the face on the Assassin’s Creed I box art (or II, depending upon who and when you ask) is based on his visage. Taylor, who was previously a model, even lists it as one of his (unverified) credits on his old Model Mayhem page.

Before we go any further, it’s important to note that Taylor has, historically, been considered to be, well, um, a liar. As any VPR fan knows, and as a 2019 Vulture article pointed out, Taylor was accused of infidelity in back-to-back seasons and “both times [he] convinced both the show’s behind-the-camera staff and his friends that he was wrongfully accused; both times, he was caught red-handed as the season ended.” Taylor was also tied up in a lie in season six, after he was caught cheating on his future wife (then-girlfriend) with another co-star. There are other lies you’ll find deep in the Bravo subreddits: that he was roommates with Channing Tatum, that he almost got a job working for the NHL, that he loved the tea set Lisa Vanderpump gave him as a wedding gift.

But the reality TV star doggedly insists that he is, indeed, the face on the cover art of an Assassin’s Creed game. He recently doubled down on this claim at Lexington Comic Con, which took place in the Kentucky city over the March 7-10 weekend. Taylor and several of his former and current castmates (he’s starring in a new Vanderpump Rules spinoff called The Valley alongside his maybe-future-ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright) had their own tables at the convention, which were decorated with images of their professional appearances. On Taylor’s table: A picture of the Assassin’s Creed I cover art.

Is Jax Taylor the face of the Assassin’s Creed box cover art?

Screenshot: Jax Taylor on X / Ubisoft

Now, here’s where things get confusing. Taylor first claimed this video game connection back in 2012, when he posted “Me on the cover of assassins [sic] creed II” on X (formerly Twitter). The picture accompanying the text certainly looks like cover art for an Xbox 360 game, but there are some notable discrepancies. First, the image depicts Assassin’s Creed I, not II, and second, that picture doesn’t appear to have ever been used for a physical release of the Ubisoft game. An intrepid reporter asked about this alleged cover art back in 2022, and the replies only unearthed more questions: It appears that the image Taylor posted is from a website called Customaniacs, which, back in the Xbox 360 era, would share hi-res, downloadable, custom pieces of box cover art for people to print out and slip into the plastic shells.

On March 12, I reached out to Taylor’s PR via email, who initially confirmed that Taylor was “on the first season” of Assassin’s Creed. When pressed for clarification, the representative confirmed that he was the model for “the very first game” and “just the box art.” I thanked them for the clarification.

An hour later, unprompted, Taylor’s representative emailed me an image that only made things more baffling: a picture of the cover of PlayStation: The Official Magazine’s Holiday 2009 issue, which featured the publication’s review of Assassin’s Creed II. Yes, a review of the sequel, not the first game like his representative initially confirmed. To add more layers to this confusion cake, the PlayStation mag cover does not depict the box art for any Assassin’s Creed game, but bespoke art. (Unrelated, but hilarious: the image is clearly just the cover torn off the magazine, the rest of which Taylor ostensibly threw out.)

Jax Taylor's Instagram story from March 13, showing an PlayStation: The Official Magazine cover featuring Assassin's Creed II.

Screenshot: Jax Taylor Instagram / PlayStation: The Official Magazine

Not long after my conversation with his PR person, Taylor posted a picture of the PlayStation: The Official Magazine cover that had been emailed to me to his Instagram story, with the caption “Flashback to when I did the cover art/box art for #assassinscreed 2009.” He tagged the Instagram accounts for Lexington Comic Con and PlayStation.

The thing is, a French-Canadian model named Francisco Randez has been widely credited as the face of series protagonists Desmond, Altair, and Ezio. Randez has done interviews about his role in the series and has an IMDb credit for it. In a 2011 interview, Assassin’s Creed devs discuss creating the digital likenesses of the character, referring to the “handsome model” as a “neighbor” of the game’s producer in Montréal…though they have trouble remembering his name and call him “Rafael.” (It’s around the 8:50 mark.) Is there more than one “Assassin’s Creed guy”? Is Jax Taylor one of them? Is he none of them?

I reached out to both Ubisoft and Francisco Randez. Ubisoft declined to comment, and Randez has yet to respond.

So, it’s still unclear if Jax Taylor is, indeed, the face on the cover for either Assassin’s Creed I or Assassin’s Creed II. As a VPR fan, I’m inclined to believe he’s not, but what do you think?

  • Jax Taylor Lied?! Brittany Cartwright Moved Into A New House – And Has Something To Say About Split! – Perez Hilton

Jax Taylor Lied?! Brittany Cartwright Moved Into A New House – And Has Something To Say About Split! – Perez Hilton

Did Jax Taylor lie about Brittany Cartwright living with him again?

After fan speculation over the past few weeks, Brittany finally confirmed it on their When Reality Hits podcast on Thursday — the Vanderpump alums are separated. While the former couple are “taking time apart,” Brittany told listeners she decided to no longer live under the same roof as him for the sake of her mental health. But in a surprise twist hours later, Jax revealed she was already living with him again! He said:

“We’re together. We’re living in our home right now. She was in a house for a while, but yeah, she’s back now.”

Whaaat?! Things changed fast… or did they? Did Jax LIE about their current situation? The answer should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen an episode of Vanderpump Rules! Yes, yes, he did!

Related: The Valley Gets First Trailer At SUPER Awkward Time With Jax & Brittany Separation!

A source close to Brittany insisted to Page Six on Friday she has moved out of her home with Jax — indefinitely. And we got some insight into the timeline of their separation drama. The outlet explained that the 35-year-old mom moved out of their house “about a month” ago — around late January or early February – when she decided to separate from Jax. She then moved into a rental home. And get this, the source agreed the couple are “taking time apart” — but are “not on a path to reconciliation”!

    Uh oh…

So why would he fib about their living situation? Is he embarrassed about his marriage crumbling? Well, there apparently was some slight truth to what Jax said. Brittany did visit their shared home on Thursday — emphasis on visit. The insider for Page Six explained her husband misconstrued her recent stop at their place! According to the outlet, she went to “pack up her stuff” since she moved into a “new rental” this week after the lease on her previous rental ended:

“She was back there yesterday to pack up her stuff to go to another rental. Maybe that’s why he said, ‘Oh, she’s back home now,’ because there was a day in between her rentals.”

Brittany was even seen on Thursday in pictures obtained by Page Six moving her a lot of her belongings from the house into a white Jeep. Check it out (below):

Despite what he said earlier, the insider says Jax knows where his relationship stands with Brittany. And it’s not looking good, FYI! The source added:

“I don’t know why he said that — I think he was just caught off guard.”

Hmm. Whelp, the point of the matter is Brittany and Jax are not living under the same roof at this current time! And Brittany doesn’t appear to have any regrets about moving out! She took to Instagram Stories shortly afterward to post a cryptic message that read:

“If a woman holds the power to create life, she also holds the power to create the life she wants.”

Yes, girl! See the post (below):

Only time will tell whether “the life she wants” will include Jax as her partner moving forward! Reactions, Perezcious readers? Do you think Brittany will end up divorcing Jax? Let us know in the comments below.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright Dish on Rude Encounter With Justin Hartley, Why They Called Shep “Worst Guest” at Wedding, and His Makeout With Scheana #VanderpumpRules

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright looked back on a “rude” encounter with actor Justin Hartley on an episode of their podcast last week.

After welcoming guest Shep Rose, 44, of Southern Charm, Jax, 44, and Brittany, 35, put Justin, 47, on blast for acting as if he was above them during a run-in at the Kentucky Derby years ago as they also revealed if Shep was truly their worst wedding guest and detailed his apparent makeout with Scheana Shay, 38.

“I can say this guy ’cause I really don’t like him… I had the best experience with Lady Gaga, I mean the fact that she knew about me, she wanted to know about my wife… It’s almost like she was excited to see me. Jennifer Lawrence, the same thing. She knew all about me, she was asking questions. Then we were at the Kentucky Derby one year right, we ran into an actor who’s probably doing a little bit better now but at the time,” Jax began on the February 8 episode of When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.

“He just rubbed us the wrong way, and he thought he was a little too cool for us,” the Vanderpump Rules star continued. “He literally just snubbed us … He was dating [Chrishell Stause]. And Chrishell was so sweet to us. She was so nice.”

According to Brittany, Justin may have let his This is Us success go to his head.

“He was nice but it was just like when people wanted to take group photos because we were all in a group together. Like, he stood in the back with his head up to the ceiling and wouldn’t look forward, and everybody else, including the people who took care of us at the Kentucky Derby, were all in that photo,” she noted. “It just seemed a little like, rude.”

Although Jax didn’t appreciate Justin’s treatment, he did feel that he and Brittany were a little out of their element.

“He’s been acting his whole life, and working his way up to be invited to these parties, and Brittany and I woke up one day and decided to be on reality TV, and we’re invited and taking pictures with all these stars,” he reasoned.

Looking back on their wedding, Brittany noted that while Shep was previously named as their worst guest, he was only given such a title due to a leaked pic he shared on social media of her and Jax’s big day.

“You didn’t actually screw up anything but we were put on the spot on Watch What Happens Live. [Andy Cohen] said something like, ‘Who was the worst wedding guest?’ You just came to my mind immediately because you posted me walking down the aisle before the PEOPLE exclusive,” she explained. “I was like, ‘Shep knows better than to do something like that.’ But that’s the only reason we said that. It wasn’t anything like bad.”

“You know Jax and I are so used to be the whipping boy and the fall guy that it doesn’t even matter anymore,” Shep replied.

Jax then revealed a makeout Shep had at their wedding.

“Who did you make out with at the wedding? Did you make out with Scheana?” he asked.

“Yeah, that might have happened,” Shep confirmed. “I had so much fun that I don’t regret anything at that wedding.”

Vanderpump Rules season 11 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo, and The Valley is expected to premiere sometime this spring, also on Bravo.
