  • Lisa Vanderpump Has ‘Empathy’ for Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

Lisa Vanderpump Has ‘Empathy’ for Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

Lisa Vanderpump isn’t ready to forgive Kyle Richards — but still feels for her former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar amid her marriage woes with husband Mauricio Umansky.

“With Kyle and Mauricio I mean, I don’t have a great relationship with her, I’ve been honest about that,” Lisa, 63, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending BravoCon on Friday, November 3. “When somebody calls you a liar, it’s hard to come back from that when they don’t take it back. But I have empathy. Empathy for it. They’ve got a family and beautiful girls.”

While Lisa and Kyle, 54, were instant pals during the first season of RHOBH in 2010, their nearly decade-long friendship came to a grinding halt in 2018 after their costar Dorit Kemsley adopted a puppy from Kylie’s dog rescue center, Vanderpump Dogs. After the pet wound up at a killer shelter, Teddi Mellencamp accused Lisa of encouraging her employees to talk about the situation so it would be a storyline on the show.

While Kyle attempted to stay neutral in the feud, she questioned Lisa when the story leaked to the press — upsetting the Vanderpump Rules star. The women ended up in hearted a argument, with Lisa’s husband, Ken Todd, kicking Kyle out of the house and causing Lisa to cease communication with her costars, including Kyle, before officially exiting the Bravo series during season 9.

Gabe Ginsberg/Getty Images Bravo made sure to “mention it all” at BravoCon 2023, dropping show teasers and more bombshell revelations. The third annual convention kicked off in Las Vegas on Friday, November 3, with more than 150 Bravolebrities appearing at Caesars Forum throughout the weekend. “I predict chaos. I predict people overdrinking and being overserved […]

After their fallout, Kyle exclusively told Us that she had attempted to contact her former friend with no success. “Emails and text messages and, you know, I don’t know what else to do,” she told Us in November 2018. “As far as I’m concerned, the ball is in her court.”

The twosome seemingly haven’t made amends, but Lisa’s “empathy” comes amid a different kind of relationship drama for Kyle. Us confirmed in July that Kyle and Mauricio, 54, had separated after 27 years of marriage. The couple tied the knot in 1996 and share daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. (Mauricio is also the stepfather of Kyle’s daughter Farrah, 34, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie.)

Kyle and Mauricio shared a joint statement about their separation in July, noting that they had a “rough year” in their marriage but had no plans to divorce. “We both love and respect each other tremendously,” they wrote via Instagram. “There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.”

Tension between the two grew, however, when photos surfaced of Mauricio holding hands with his Dancing With the Stars partner, Emma Slater, last month. Kyle expressed her discomfort with the images during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, telling host Andy Cohen, “I don’t know if anything’s happened yet, but obviously there’s something there. … I love him very much and we are amicable. [But] that really did hurt me.”

Mauricio, for his part, addressed the romance rumors head-on in an October Instagram video with Slater, 34, insisting that the duo are “not dating.”

Kyle and Mauricio are not the only RHOBH who appear to be “having issues” in their marriage. In October, In Touch reported that Dorit, 47, and her husband, PK Kemsley, are living “separate lives.” The couple — who share daughter Jagger, 9, and son Phoenix, 7 — responded to the reports at the time, denying that they plan to end their marriage.

At the time, Dorit and PK, 56, added that they’ve had “some challenging years,” and will discuss their relationship on season 13 of RHOBH, which kicked off in October.

Meanwhile, a source exclusively told Us earlier this month that Dorit and PK are “spending time apart” while undergoing “couples counseling.”

“They both agree it’s the right thing to do,” a second insider told Us.  “It’s been a rough period for them. They want to say on amicable terms whether they stay together or not.”

While speaking with Us at BravoCon on Friday, Lisa shared that she doesn’t believe Dorit and PK are really in trouble, adding that she doesn’t “invest too much in rumors.”

“I haven’t heard much about that, and I don’t ever really believe rumors because I think all marriages go through a little bit of that,” she explained. “I’ve had been married 41 years, sometimes I’ve wanted to kill Ken and often [I’ve] kind of [been] honest about it. They go, ‘Oh, what’s it like being married?’ It’s f—king difficult! It is.”

Ariana Madix is seen screaming at Tom Sandoval in the first look at the upcoming 11th season of Vanderpump Rules.

As BravoCon kicked off on Friday, with much of the cast in attendance, the new season was teased, with James Kennedy, 31, literally drawing a line in the sand, Katie Maloney, 36, warning Scheana Shay, 38, about her potential friendship with Sandoval, 38, and Ariana accusing him of ruining her life and home, as sources confirmed if Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 28, was invited.

On November 3, just about eight months after she was caught having an affair with Sandoval behind the back of her then-friend and castmate, Ariana, TMZ revealed Raquel was not asked to attend BravoCon.

The outlet also noted that Raquel, who is currently living in Arizona, is still not in contact with her former co-stars, the majority of whom berated her earlier this year at the Pump Rules season 10 reunion.

With Raquel hundreds of miles away, Bravo debuted the trailer for Pump Rules, which began with a message that read, “What a difference one scandal makes,” and encouraged fans to “get pumped to pick up the pieces” of Scandoval.

The sneak peek then moves to Santa Monica Beach, where the cast is attempting to enjoy a day in the sun — as a group.

“That’s Ariana’s side. Sandoval’s side over here. Don’t go over the line!” James proclaims.

As the cast tries to coexist amid the falling out between Ariana and Sandoval, Lisa Vanderpump seems to be doing her best to convince the group to offer Sandoval forgiveness.

“To lose his best friend, his business is up the creek, everything has gone wrong in his life,” she explains, giving a nod to Tom Schwartz, 40, and their bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s, which took a hit after Sandoval and Raquel’s affair was exposed.

Meanwhile, Katie wants no such reunion between Sandoval and Scheana, whom she offers a stern warning.

“Scheana, if you’re gonna be friends with him, she’s gonna f*cking cut you off so think about your next move very carefully,” she states.

As for Ariana and Sandoval, they are seen in a scene together, during which she tells him, “[You] ruin my life, my home, and then attempt to kill my f*cking dog. My lawyer will be dealing with you!”

  • Tom Sandoval Booed Continuously at ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Panel at BravoCon; First Season 11 Trailer Released

Tom Sandoval Booed Continuously at ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Panel at BravoCon; First Season 11 Trailer Released

Earlier on Friday, Bravo announced from BravoCon that Season 11 of “Vanderpump Rules” will premiere in January. Which raises the big question: After a 10th season that concluded in June, during which the show became a ratings smash, a pop culture sensation and an eventual Emmy nominee — all because of the cheating scandal within the show that captured the nation’s fickle attention — where will the Bravo series go after the #Scandoval?

One place it seemingly won’t be going, at least as far as the BravoCon audience was concerned, was redemption for cast member Tom Sandoval, who last year had an affair with his former castmate Rachel Leviss — thereby blowing up his relationship with his longtime girlfriend, Ariana Madix. From the time he was introdued, and every time he spoke, Sandoval received loud boos, even as moderator Karamo Brown tried to tell the crowd to stop. When an audience questioner asked everyone to “give Sandoval some fucking grace,” saying that he’s a “human,” she herself was booed.

For Madix’s part, she was on a separate part of the stage from her ex-boyfriend, and maintained a chilly distance from him throughout. As a contestant on this season of “Dancing With the Stars,” she said, “It feels amazing, except for the aches,” and added that she’ll be rehearsing tonight from 11 pm to 3 am.

Bravo also released the first teaser for Season 11.

In contrast to Sandoval, Madix did receive grace, and she said that filming Season 11 taught her, “I can do hard things — and I did it.” After fellow cast member James Kennedy said that the season was difficult, he added that he thinks to himself, “if Ariana can do it, I can do it.” And then Madix said she’s inspired by Britney Spears: “If Britney can do it, I can do it.”

Brown asked each cast member to describe the upcoming season in one word, and several of them said “sad.” For his part, Sandoval called it a “roller coaster.”

Later, Andy Cohen asked the first “audience” question about how Sandoval and Kennedy have gotten so “fucking ripped.” Kennedy said he’s been going to the gym, and Sandoval said he stopped drinking six months ago. He said when he gets home, he works out instead of “smoking and drinking.”

The two men then had a pushup contest, though this reporter became so freaked out by the display she wasn’t sure who won.

Vanderpump Rules” is not only riding high going into Season 11, but has also spawned the spinoff “Vanderpump Valley,” starring ex-“Rules” cast members Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright. Doute was fired in June 2020, after Faith Stowers, a Black castmate who appeared on the show for a few seasons, revealed that in 2018 Doute and cast member Stassi Schroeder had reported her for a crime she’d had nothing to do with. Later that year, Taylor’s and Cartwright’s contracts also weren’t renewed — along with other toxic behavior, Taylor, who’d had a fling with Stowers while he was with Cartwright, had also accused Stowers of a crime in a tweet. During the #Scandoval, however, the three of them returned to Bravo’s air as pundits, and thus have now gotten their own show. “Vanderpump Valley” is expected to premiere on Bravo next year, following “Vanderpump Rules.”

Avery Singer attended her very first BravoCon on Friday — but she did so without her mom Ramona Singer.

Days after the Real Housewives of New York City alum, 66, was cut from the festivities following the release of a controversial Real Housewives publication by Vanity Fair, which stated that Ramona had used the n-word and suggested that hiring Black cast members would “ruin” the show, Avery, 28, turned up at the Bravo Bazaar, where her company, Bach Booth, had a booth.

In a photo shared by Queen of Bravo on Twitter, Avery, wearing an ivory blazer, tan pants, and tan heels, waved to fans.

Following the sharing of the photo, fans had mixed reactions, with some applauding Avery for being “so ballsy” and others suggesting she should have “sat this one out.”

“I would think she would be nervous to go. Good for her,” one person wrote.

“I wouldn’t have gone but I give her credit for showing up. It’s her mom’s problem, not hers,” another agreed.

Meanwhile, others felt she shouldn’t have been there and criticized her and Ramona for having “no shame.”

“Girl, you should be hiding out [with] your racist mother. Imagine showing up smiling like that after your family was finally outed as the racists they have always been,” someone stated.

Another mocked Avery with a clown emoji, writing, “Just because my mom is majorly problematic isn’t going to stop me!”

“Why is she even there?” someone else wondered. “I wouldn’t be as she had nothing to do with the show. I’d let this be my mom’s problem unless she’s a fame-seeker like her mom.”

Amid the backlash, Avery spoke out about her mother, getting emotional while discussing her absence from the event.

“I love my mom, and I wish she could be here,” Avery told The Messenger at BravoCon 2023 on November 3. “I know she’s so proud of us.”

As she teared up and got a hug from business partner Jolie Lauren Golub, Avery admitted that appearing at BravoCon was a “full-circle moment.”

“I’ve been on Bravo since I was 12. I’m now 28, which is crazy. It’s my first BravoCon, so I’m excited to be here. The support and love is amazing,” she gushed.

Then mentioning the advice the RHONY alum gave her as she launched her company, which is described as “a full-service concierge and event-planning service for bachelorette parties, Avery said, “She always said that it’s important to love what you do, and the money will come.”
