  • The 2022 Anti-Trend Pieces I’m Ditching for Their 2023 Replacements

The 2022 Anti-Trend Pieces I’m Ditching for Their 2023 Replacements

    [ad_1]

I am in the midst of updating my closet this season, which just so happens to be filled with a plethora of anti-trend pieces. With my serious dedication to classic style, I can’t help but reach for effortless options each season that can (for the most part) stand the test of time. My goal is always to put together a set of key staples that I know I will wear over and over again. Even so, it feels like it’s time to store, sell, or donate, some old staples to make room for fresh additions.

In most of these cases, I am looking to make the simplest of updates. For instance, I have been a huge fan of the boxy oversize blazer for some time now, but lately, I am craving a more tailored blazer that cinches in right at the waist. In the skirt department, I am taking a break from midi lengths to wear ankle-grazing maxi styles inspired by ’90s throwbacks. Keep scrolling to check out four anti-trend favorites that have served me well and what I am swapping them out for this season.

  • I Wear a Blazer at Least Once a Week—17 Outfits on My Current Styling Mood Board

I Wear a Blazer at Least Once a Week—17 Outfits on My Current Styling Mood Board

    [ad_1]

It’s basically a rule that if you work in fashion, you have to wear blazersa lot. Whether you choose oversize ones or nipped-in ones, longline ones or cropped ones, it doesn’t much matter, as long as you have plenty of them stocked in your closet to throw on top of an outfit at any given moment. Of course, having a uniform like this can make life much easier. I’d know—I wore one for years in school and saved an abundance of time getting ready in the morning. It can, however, grow stale rather quickly.

That’s no reason to stop wearing the priority wardrobe staple. In fact, I probably will never quit my blazers. All it means is that you need to style them in interesting and ever-changing ways. That’s why I keep a mood board dedicated to blazers that I update every few weeks with new styling inspiration to ensure that my blazers never start to feel boring, no matter how often I wear them. Keep scrolling to see the 17 blazer outfits that are currently calling said mood board home.

  • Olivia Rodrigo Wore the Chic Basic That Instantly Upgrades Skinny Jeans

Olivia Rodrigo Wore the Chic Basic That Instantly Upgrades Skinny Jeans

    [ad_1]

Gen Z queen Olivia Rodrigo just did the unthinkable and wore skinny jeans. (I apologize for the hyperbole.) It’s not something we’re used to seeing the Y2K-loving musician wear. But rumor has it that skinny jeans are coming back with a vengeance in 2023, so perhaps she’s getting a head start.

The outfit I’m referring to is one Rodrigo wore while out this week in NYC. She paired the aforementioned skinny jeans with a ribbed gray sweater and her go-to Converse Chuck Taylor high-tops. What took the outfit from cool to chic was the addition of a leather blazer, a trend that’s been percolating for several seasons now. Having polished basics that go with everything (like a leather blazer) is key because you can wear them with easy, casual pieces and look like you made an effort every single time.

Scroll to shop Rodrigo’s casual-chic look, along with some of my favorite leather blazers on the market.

  • The 2023 Blazer Trend Is Here, and It’s Truly Perfect

The 2023 Blazer Trend Is Here, and It’s Truly Perfect

    [ad_1]

Blazers always make quite an appearance on the runways no matter what season is at play, which means we can’t really tell you blazers are trending since, by now, they are 100% a wardrobe basic, must-have, go-to, etc. Instead, we like to examine this timeless outerwear style to identify the nuances from season to season. So what’s in store for next year? The collarless blazer. We’re talking no lapels in sight. This detail, although subtle, somehow still feels very significant—so much so that we are deeming it the blazer trend to know this year.

This particular blazer style offers up great opportunities to show off a funky collar should you choose to layer a shirt underneath or show off a glitzy assortment of necklaces with no distractions from the lapel. Overall, we think the look is so chic. The lack of a collar creates such a streamlined silhouette that reads extremely elevated no matter how it’s styled. Ahead, you’ll get to take a peek at a few of our favorite collarless-blazer moments from the runways, and of course, you’ll be able to shop our favorite versions of this trend along the way.

  • If Europeans Had Nordstrom, This Is What They Would Buy There

If Europeans Had Nordstrom, This Is What They Would Buy There

    [ad_1]

If I had a dollar for every time a European friend lamented the fact that there are no Nordstrom locations abroad, I’d be able to buy everything in my Nordy virtual cart. I don’t blame them in the least—the popular retailer carries just about everything, has a streamlined shopping process, and caters to a variety of personal styles. The good news is Nordstrom launched international shipping last month. Hooray.

Being that I practically shop for a living, I can’t help but be curious as to what people from around the world would buy from my favorite stores. Thanks to my aforementioned friends and Instagram feed full of fashion people straight from Paris, Milan, Amsterdam, and more, I am able to get a great picture of what that might be. I’m talking about smart blazers, cozy sweaters, fashion-forward shoes, and other stylish closet staples.

Ahead, shop 32 stylish picks that the European fashion set would scoop up during a Nordstrom shopping spree. I may or may not want every last piece.
