  • The Chevy Blazer EV is back on sale with functioning software and a big price drop

The Chevy Blazer EV is back on sale with functioning software and a big price drop

    [ad_1]

Chevrolet is resuming sales of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV following reports of major software issues, . The company says the malfunctions have been patched, thanks to “significant software updates.” To entice wary consumers back into the fold, Chevy has slashed prices on the vehicle. The sticker price has been reduced by $5,600 to $6,500, depending on the trim.

Here’s how that breaks down. The Blazer EV LT AWD now starts at $50,195, instead of $56,715. The RS AWD now sells for $54,595, down from the original MSRP of $60,215. Finally, the RS RWD goes for $56,170, down from $61,790. These prices all include destination charges.

Also, the 2024 Blazer EV line is eligible for that $7,500 federal tax credit. This lowers the price of the LT AWD to just $42,695 and can now be applied , so buyers don’t have to wait for a rebate check. If that’s still too rich for your blood, the Blazer LT FWD EV is still slated for release later this year. Chevrolet says it’ll start “under $50,000”, though exact pricing has yet to be revealed. If Chevy follows through with that pricing promise and it qualifies for the full tax credit, we could be looking at a real budget-friendly contender in the EV space.

However, the EV Blazer line has experienced months of bad press following last year’s software malfunctions, drive motor control failures to glitchy and blank infotainment screens. Who knows if the price cuts will be enough for people to forget that embarrassment. GM has said that it’ll be instituting these software fixes to other EVs under its umbrella, . Chevrolet’s parent company also owns Cadillac, GMC and Buick.

One thing is for sure. Despite proclamations that the there’s still a whole lot of curious consumers out there. Manufacturer Rivian by announcing a trio of new vehicles this week, racking up over 68,000 preorders in under a day.

  • Anya Taylor-Joy Wore 2024's Most Elegant Trend to the Emmys After Party

Anya Taylor-Joy Wore 2024's Most Elegant Trend to the Emmys After Party

    [ad_1]

Putting together an elegant party outfit is about as close to impossible as winning the lottery or getting a table at NYC’s Polo Bar… the two concepts just don’t really go together. Yet Anya Taylor-Joy managed to create one seemingly with ease for the Emmys after party she attended last night. For the event in West Hollywood, the The Menu actress chose an all-black ensemble consisting of a black leather miniskirt, matching go-go boots, and an hourglass-shaped blazer that added just the right amount of formality and glamour to the otherwise fun and playful look.

Hourglass silhouettes like Taylor-Joy’s are quickly becoming some of 2024’s most sought-after items, with trending styles by designer labels like Alaïa, Tory Burch, Versace, and Gabriela Hearst, as well as more affordable options that can be found at Aritzia, Reformation, and Helsa. Below, scroll through 15 of my favorite nipped-in, structural pieces, each of which is more elegant than the next.

10 Years Later, These Looks From Toteme's Creative Director Are Still So Chic

    [ad_1]

If you were to ask me who has been a consistent style muse for me since I started working in fashion (beyond the Olsen twins, of course), it would be Toteme’s co-founder and creative director, Elin Kling. If I could only wear one brand for the rest of my life, it would be Toteme, and I declared as much some years ago. When it comes to Kling’s personal style, it dawned on me that I still reference just about all of her looks from a decade ago up until today. That’s impressive in my book, to say the least.

Below, I take you through some of my favorite ensembles from Kling that date back 10 years or more. How does she do it? It’s all thanks to her continued commitment to elevated basics like tailored black blazers, classic jeans, simple shoes, and other genuinely timeless pieces. Keep scrolling to see seven incredibly chic outfits from Kling’s stylish archive that you can wear now and for many years to come. Seriously, these look like they could have been shot yesterday.

Jennifer Lawrence Just Wore the Elevated Jacket We'll All Buy in 2024

    [ad_1]

A new year calls for fresh outfit inspiration, and one of our favorite celebrities is already leading the charge. Jennifer Lawrence was pictured polishing up her casual outfit in the most 2024 way. Predicted by the runways to be a major trend next season, Lawrence proved she’s ahead of the fashion game with her excellent styling of a black leather blazer by The Row

A supremely chic outerwear option, a leather blazer combines the elegance of a classic blazer with the refined sheen and expensive smoothness of leather. Styling a denim and leather pairing, the actress kept her outfit looking casual yet elevated through her clever layering of textures. Completing her look with banana-milk yellow slippers (also by The Row) and black wide-leg trousers, Lawrence’s casual outfit provided a template for comfortable yet stylish winter dressing.

  • The Best Part Of The Game Awards This Year Was The Fashion

The Best Part Of The Game Awards This Year Was The Fashion

    [ad_1]

    Screenshot: The Game Awards

Last year, I caused a bit of a ruckus by saying the fashion at The Game Awards was indicative of the industry’s identity crisis. I lamented the t-shirt and blazer uniform and begged the men of the industry to do better. And though I said this not long before the 2022 awards show was set to kick off, it was clear that even in those few days, gaming’s biggest names scrambled to make sure they pleased one relatively unknown woman from New York.

Ahead of this year’s awards, I offered unsolicited fashion advice to try and ensure the awards ceremony felt as glitzy and as glamorous as host Geoff Keighley wants it to be. I even dressed a few of the attendees myself. But despite all that, I wasn’t sure what kind of looks we’d see when The Game Awards 2023 livestream kicked off on December 7.

This year, I attended the awards in-person, and had quite a few people tell me face-to-face that I singlehandedly made the attendees step up their fashion game. There was so much style both on and off the stage at the Peacock Theater last night, with dozens of people donning sequins and sparkles and Barbie-pink gowns and bright suit sets and funky accessories and sky-high heels. It truly was a feast for the eyes. Hell, Geoff dressed so well this year that someone dropped an f-bomb on stage over it.

So, I decided, just like last year, to gather some of the best-dressed attendees of The Game Awards 2023. Some of them were on-stage, many were off, all were fabulous. Click through to see who made the cut. You’re all beautiful.

  • Sofia Richie Grainge Just Mastered the Art Of Making Jeans Look Fancy AF

Sofia Richie Grainge Just Mastered the Art Of Making Jeans Look Fancy AF

    [ad_1]

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Sofia Richie Grainge in the last year, it’s that she really can pull off any look. She went viral on TikTok for her quiet-luxury wedding looks, but at the same time, consistently shows off her ability to style neon, printed, and feather-embellished ensembles just as well as neutral, minimal ones. And her latest outfit is yet another example of her versatility and propensity to make really anything look elegant and chic.

On Tuesday, the Nudestix beauty director posted a slideshow on Instagram featuring a mirror selfie of one of her recent fall outfits. The look in question was a simple one, and yet, it proved just how advanced Richie Grainge’s style skills are. Why? Because it showed her making jeans, specifically very casual vintage straight-leg jeans, look equally as fancy as a pencil skirt, dress, or pair of slacks. I know, I know, she makes it seem so easy. But anyone who’s tried to get this outfit formula right knows that dressing up a pair of light-wash jeans is trickier than it looks.

Her trick lies in the pieces she paired with the ankle-length, mid-rise denim. Unlike a standard black blazer, Richie Grainge’s in the shot is a tuxedo-style silhouette with padded shoulders and large, satin lapels that instantly made her appear tenfold more formal. On her feet are simple black sling-backs with a not-too-high but not-too-low stiletto heel. Effortless and yet perfectly put together, the outfit is a true masterclass.

See the fancy AF way Sofia Richie Grainge styles her denim below and shop the uniform that looks amazing every single time.

Blake Lively’s Classic Madewell Blazer Is Already on Sale For Black Friday

    [ad_1]

There are certain affordable brands that celebrities seem to gravitate toward en masse, and Madewell is undoubtedly one of them. One of its many celeb fans is Blake Lively, who just wore one of the brand’s best fall pieces while out in NYC. The piece she chose was Madewell’s Bedford Oversized Blazer. With its roomy fit, belted waist, and wool fabric, it’s a blazer masquerading as a perfect fall jacket. And as Lively displayed, it looks perfect with jeans and ankle boots.

Although Black Friday may still be two weeks away, some sites have already begun their sales, and Madewell is one of them. Now through November 15, the code LETSGO will get you 30% off sitewide, and that includes on Lively’s cool, classic checked blazer. At This Rate, Taylor Swift’s Madewell Blazer Will Sell Out by Friday

    [ad_1]

If you thought Meghan Markle‘s and Kate Middleton’s outfits had an effect on consumer shopping habits, just wait until you see the impact of Taylor Swift’s most recent fall look. The singer, who’s currently wrapping up the first part of her U.S. tour and stopping home in NYC between shows, was spotted in the West Village outside of 4 Charles Prime Rib, where she had dinner with newlyweds Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley. For the occasion, Swift chose an autumnal pairing made up of burgundy Gianvito Rossi ankle boots, a brown corduroy miniskirt from ACNE Studios, and best of all, a cognac-colored leather blazer from Madewell that’s selling at a swift rate similar to any Zara or J.Crew item worn by the two aforementioned royals.

The lambskin leather blazer, in the last seven days, has been added to customers’ shopping carts a total of 354 times, according to its product page on the brand’s website, which is an even bigger deal than it sounds given that its price tag reads $548. As a result, sizes are literally flying off the digital shelves, leaving only a few for Swifties and fall-style fans alike to get their grips on. Scroll down to shop the blazer (as well as the cocoa-colored alt that’s still available in all sizes) and more autumn-ready finds from the brand.

I Love The Row, But I’m on a Budget—These Chic Under-$200 Finds Fit the Bill

    [ad_1]

Having run the Olsen twins–dedicated blog Olsens Anonymous for over a decade, I am well-versed in their style evolution. For some years now, both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been donning outfits almost exclusively with pieces from their own line, The Row. It’s no surprise that the brand has a cult following—the minimal pieces are all painfully chic and can easily be mixed and matched, making for a practical, understated wardrobe. The only issue is The Row is purely aspirational for most due to the hefty price tags on all the pieces.

Thankfully, re-creating the look and vibe of the popular collections can be done in a much more affordable way. While the same luxe fabrics and tailoring may be hard to acquire without the budget, it is easy to find elevated basics and sleek shoes and bags that are in the same vein. Not to mention, we have been graced with nearly identical dupes of some of The Row’s trendiest pieces. Think chic button-down shirts, smart trousers, classic heels, oversize sweaters, luxe-looking shoes, and much more. Keep scrolling to shop 30 pieces inspired by The Row that are under $200.

I Own Too Many Blazers to Count—Now I Have My Sights on This One

    [ad_1]

In a few months’ time, we’ll be talking about closet clean-outs, what to toss, what to keep, and all things organization. I guess the energy of ushering in a new year seems to do that to people. But regardless of whether it’s January or the season for spring cleaning, one category of clothing I virtually leave untouched is my blazers. You could probably call it a blazer addiction. Yes, that means my assortment of them is currently bursting at the seams, but at the frequent rate that I wear them, it seems like a fair trade. Out of my current collection, camel blazers, in particular, have been receiving a lot of airtime. It’s the shade I reach for first (sorry, black blazers) and feels especially fitting for the moderate L.A. winters.

While the camel coat has long been a perennial staple among stylish people everywhere, its blazer relative hasn’t always been as ubiquitous. That was until the most recent fall/winter runways showcased a score of them from brands such as Gucci, Fendi, The Row, and more. With its fashion street cred up, the camel blazer has become more of a familiar face at the who’s who of clothing stores and within my very own closet. Since I consider myself fluent in the language of cool blazers, I took the time to assemble the absolute chicest and best for your shopping pleasure. The Timeless Fall Staple Parisians and New Yorkers Wear on Repeat

    [ad_1]

Fun prompt for you: close your eyes and imagine the visual embodiment of fall. Did you see bright orange, yellow, and brown leaves scattered across the park? Or maybe you saw yourself snuggling up with a Pumpkin Spice Latte? For me, envisioning fall evokes all of these images, but I dream primarily of one specific thing: blazers

Fall fashion generally can have me daydreaming for hours—who wouldn’t want to think about knee-high boots, chunky knits, and leather pants? But there’s something about blazers that captures what fall is all about. And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. From Paris to New York, the fashion set swears by this year-round staple. A blazer is one of the best things you can buy for fall. It’s the sauce that can take any ensemble from simple to spicy. Need proof? • What I’d Pick From Nordstrom If I Could Only Wear 5 Pieces for an Entire Year

What I’d Pick From Nordstrom If I Could Only Wear 5 Pieces for an Entire Year

    [ad_1]

When I find myself wanting to pare down my wardrobe I often ask myself: If I could only wear 5 pieces for an entire year, what would they be? This helps me tremendously to refocus my shopping habits and streamline my current collection. It’s by no means easy to narrow it down so drastically but it really puts things into perspective. For the sake of this exercise (and my sanity), it only pertains to core day-to-day clothing—not shoes, outerwear, pajamas, workout clothes, bags, and other accessories.

I recently revisited the question and came up with a great set of wardrobe essentials that I wouldn’t mind wearing over and over again. So not quite uniform dressing but more of a mini capsule collection of sorts. The pieces would need to withstand the fast-moving trend cycles as well. To put together this cohesive edit, I headed over to Nordstrom, which is home to endless elevated basics. Then, to best help visualize this selection, I turned to looks that feature these classic-cool pieces from one of my favorite style muses, Alexis Foreman. • Kate Middleton Wore the Chic Jacket Style That’s Worth Ditching Big Blazers For

Kate Middleton Wore the Chic Jacket Style That’s Worth Ditching Big Blazers For

    [ad_1]

There was a time not too long ago when nearly every single outfit I wore included an oversize blazer. But over the last few years, I’ve begun to look for other alternatives that don’t feel so safe and expected. And the only real contender I’ve found along the way just got Kate Middleton‘s royal stamp of approval. (Talk about validation.)

At a celebration for the reopening of the National Portrait Gallery in London this week, the Princess of Wales wore a black-and-white ensemble by Self-Portrait (which is still available in limited sizes at Matches) with Aquazzura pumps and a Chanel clutch. At first glance, her dress appears more like a jacket and skirt, with the top half being the outerwear style I’ve slowly but surely been replacing my endless big-blazer collection with: the lady jacket.

Unlike a typical blazer, lady jackets are cropped and fitted, making them appear chicer and more formal. Many are made out of tweed or bouclé, though J.Crew’s become famous for designing them with Italian wool and cotton, thus offering up a more casual alternative. While Middleton’s take looks more like a suit, my favorite styling method is to pair one with loose denim, ballet flats or kitten-heel pumps, and a simple tee or tank. But really, you can’t go wrong either way. See her look for the reopening and shop the trend below.
