    KPop Demon Hunters has officially slain Red Notice. The animated film dominated the box office this weekend and officially became Netflix’s most popular movie ever. The streamer reports that the film has 236 million total views. And with a new sing-along version, the view count can only go up, up, up.

    That makes Red Notice Netflix’s second-most popular film, followed by Carry-On, Don’t Look Up, and The Adam Project. But does The Adam Project have Andy Samberg stanning it on Good Morning America?

    The musical hits also keep coming for KPop Demon Hunters. The movie has spawned yet another top-ten hit on the “Billboard Hot 100,” with “How It’s Done” coming in at number ten this week, followed by “Soda Pop” (No. 5), “Your Idol” (No. 2), and “Golden” at the top of the charts. Take that, Alex Warren! Demon Hunters now holds the record for most concurrent top-ten hits of any film soundtrack. The last time a film had four top-ten hits was Waiting to Exhale in 1995 to 1996, but those songs weren’t all charting simultaneously. And the last time a movie had three hits in the top five at the same time was Saturday Night Fever. Here’s hoping the inevitable KPop Demon Hunters sequel does better than Staying Alive.

    Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Hiss” is the No. 1 song in the United States this week, marking the Houston rapper’s first solo No. 1.

    “Hiss” became the catalyst to a shockingly strange string of events after its arrival on Jan. 26. An online rap war between Megan and Nicki Minaj erupted over one line in the song — “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law” — was widely interpreted as a reference to Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender. In response, Minaj crafted her own diss track called “Big Foot,” directly referencing Megan’s dead mother and her 2020 shooting by Tory Lanez.

    Though Megan never directly addressed Minaj, the controversy was enough to get the internet (including Minaj) talking for days. In that same time period, Megan went on Good Morning America and announced she would be going on tour this summer and officially signed an agreement with Warner Music Group, in tandem with Roc Nation, that will allow her to remain an independent artist with the benefits of label services.

    “Hiss” launches to No. 1 with 29 million streams, nearly 3 million radio airplay audience impressions and 104,000 downloads sold, according to Luminate.

    Meanwhile, Jack Harlow’s former chart-topper, “Lovin on Me,” slips to No. 2 with a strong hold (75.9 million impressions) on radio. Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” is at No. 3 and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” remains at its No. 4 peak. The lower-half of the top 10 singles continue with Tate McRae’s “Greedy” at No. 5; Zach Bryan’s “I Remember Everything,” featuring Kacey Musgraves, at No. 6 and Doja Cat’s “Agora Hills” at No. 7.

    New in the Top 10 this week is Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” at No. 8 with 19 million streams and a striking 800,000 million in airplay audience impressions. Boone signed to Warner Records in October 2021 and has launched a handful of singles on the Billboard Hot 100 (“Ghost Town” and “In the Stars”). Still, nothing has compared to the reach of “Beautiful Things,” which debuted on the chart at No. 15 in its first week in January.

    21 Savage’s “Redrum” rounds out the top of the list at No. 9 as SZA’s “Snooze,” which won best R&B song at the 66th Grammys, is at No. 10.

    Drake‘s recent For All the Dogs album spawned numerous hits, including one featuring J. Cole: “First Person Shooter.” This track notably secured J. Cole his first-ever Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper — though he suggests that it’s no biggie, as he said he’d “almost feel better” if the accomplishment wasn’t technically off of a Drake bop!

    J. Cole Says He Would’ve Been Fine With The Yeat Feature Securing The Top Spot

    The North Carolina-bred rapper spoke on the matter during a sit-down with Lil Yachty for the A Safe Place podcast.

    While chit-chatting, Lil Yachty brought up the song’s performance on the Hot 100, and J. Cole noted that he would’ve been fine with not hitting number one.

    “If it would’ve went number 2, it wouldn’t have [mattered].”

    He went on to share that he would’ve been “cool” with “the other song” — Drake’s hit with Yeat, “IDGAF” — taking the top spot. In fact, J. Cole added, “I [would] almost feel better not having my first number one be off a Drake alley-oop.”

    The “No Role Modelz” artist laughingly reiterated his point to fans, assuring them that he was “grateful” for the experience. After all, he noted that he wasn’t at all pushing for people to listen or conscientiously trying to boost streaming numbers.

    “I’m still grateful I’m a part of it. I wasn’t at home like, ‘Come on, y’all! Pick up the streams, man! We gotta beat this mother**ker Yeat!’ I wasn’t doing that.”

    Additionally, J. Cole spoke on how it wasn’t necessarily streaming numbers that led to the development.

    Instead, he noted that his and Drake’s diehard fans’ commitment to purchasing the digital single (as opposed to only streaming it) helped the most.

    “What got ‘First Person Shooter’ to number one was me and Drake fans still buy iTunes. Still buy singles.”

    Humorously, he added, “I don’t know who still buying them b***hes, but, y’know, appreciate y’all!”
