  • Coronation Street follow up: As Becky’s scare tactic works, will Lisa really leave?

    [ad_1]

Becky Swain decided it was time to speed up her family’s departure in Coronation Street tonight (Thursday, January 1).

With Kit hot on her heels, Becky is desperate to get Betsy and Lisa to Spain as soon as possible, so decided to scare them into leaving.

Her plan worked and Lisa agreed to move to Spain immediately – but will she really go?

Kit got close to Becky’s secret

Kit visited Costello in hospital and told him he had found the flat that belonged to him, but nobody was there. Kit wanted to know why Costello told Carla to go there? But Costello was evasive and said he couldn’t remember.

Kit warned Costello that Carla’s life could be in danger, but Costello remained shtum. Once Kit had left, the reason for Costello’s silence was revealed – as Becky slipped out of the en suite.

Becky thanked Costello for covering for her. She then threatened him, warning him to keep his mouth shut and then he won’t have anything to worry about.

Later, Becky bumped into Kit’s girlfriend Sarah and attempted to prise information out of her by joking about how Lisa is already back working hard. It worked as Sarah revealed that Kit had gone to see his boss in hospital again. Sarah then added that she is sure Kit is close to cracking the case.

Becky started a fire to get Lisa to leave Coronation Street

Lisa finally caved and agreed to go to Spain with Becky and Betsy, but she said she wasn’t going anywhere until she had seen Carla and told her the news face to face.

Becky knows she can’t let Lisa see Carla, given that she has been holding Carla hostage, so she came up with a plan. Sporting a balaclava, Becky started a fire by the flat, with Betsy and Lauren inside.

Believing that it was another message of warning for Becky, Betsy insisted they had to go to Spain immediately as they might do something worse next time.

Later, Lisa saw Roy and shared that she is still upset over Carla ignoring her. Roy was adamant that Carla wouldn’t deliberately hurt her and urged her not to give up. Lisa left one more message for Carla – telling her she was the love of her life. She then decided, that with her daughter’s life having been put at risk, the best course of action was for her to move to Spain with Becky and Betsy the very next day.

    Will Lisa leave Coronation Street?

Spoilers for Friday’s episode reveal Lisa hands Sarah an envelope containing Carla’s engagement ring, and asks her to return it to Carla when she finally shows up.

Meanwhile, Becky continues her manipulation and at the Chariot Square Hotel, she persuades Lisa that they need to ditch their phones for safety reasons. She then heads out, promising she’ll be back with new phones before they head to the ferry.

Next week sees the much anticipated Corriedale episode, which Lisa, Becky and Carla will all play a major part in. So Lisa is not leaving any time before that.

The special episode will see Carla team up with Kit to stop Becky leaving the country with Lisa and Betsy. Carla and Kit later arrive at the crash scene, but will Carla reach Lisa in time? And will Becky get her comeuppance?

Becky tries to win Lisa back

Becky Swain popped round to visit Betsy today and informed her that she was moving out of the hotel and into a nearby flat… to make sure that the family were safe.

Betsy then said that Lisa had the day off work and could help her move some of her stuff in, with Lisa reluctantly agreeing.

However, Lisa’s car soon ran out of fuel. Becky then used this as the perfect opportunity to quiz her on her feelings for Carla.

Lisa admitted that she was really happy with Carla Connor. Becky told her that she was genuinely pleased for her. This didn’t stop her from trying to soften Lisa up by telling her that she was unable to move on herself, jealous of the ‘love of her life’ moving on without her.

She then tried to gift Lisa her favourite chocolate mouse. After this, Carla and Betsy turned up with fuel for the car but Carla secretly wanted to keep an eye on Lisa and Becky.

In the Rovers later on, Carla then admitted to Lisa that she felt insecure about Becky and felt like a ‘marriage wrecker.’

One fan took to X and wrote: “And as I said earlier, Corrie doesn’t care about anything except views and viewers. Lisa will cheat on Carla, and it will be Betsy’s fault; she never wanted or loved Carla from the start. I feel sorry for Carla. She’s the victim here.”

Another added: “Swarla fans today (me included)… let’s hope Lisa doesn’t cheat!!”

A third person fumed: “If Lisa cheats, I am done! Why, just why? Lisa come on girl, you even took a blow to the head from Rob to save Carla. Someone please do something about Becky, I cannot deal!!”

  • Coronation Street fans furious as major Becky twist means Mason Radcliffe died for no reason

    [ad_1]

Coronation Street fans aren’t happy after learning that Becky Swain’s fake death means Mason Radcliffe didn’t need to die.

Tonight (Friday, September 12), Becky revealed the true reason behind her ‘death’ to Lisa.

And now, with all this new information, fans have realised that Mason’s death was all for nothing.

    Becky’s death in Coronation Street

Becky Swain gave Lisa Swain some much needed answers tonight as she explained the details behind her ‘death.’

She’d been working undercover getting information for a criminal organisation involving a guy called Curtis.

This went wrong and she ended up need to flee in order to protect her family, going into hiding under a new identity in Alicante.

Costello was in on it with Becky, helping her adopt the identity of a homeless woman called Tia Wardley.

Tia was then cremated instead of Becky, with this being the person Lisa and Betsy had really been grieving for almost four years.

Coronation Street fans furious over Mason Radcliffe detail

With Becky Swain now turning up alive, Coronation Street fans have been left fuming after realising that Mason Radcliffe didn’t actually need to die.

His brothers only stabbed him to death because he’d helped Lisa get information on Becky by grabbing a war helmet from their place.

By helping Lisa try to get answers over Becky’s death and get justice against her ‘killers,’ Mason Radcliffe angered Matty and Logan and ended up losing his life.

But, he needn’t have put himself in danger as Becky never actually died to begin with.

One fan took to X and wrote: “I just think about when Betsy finds out. And that Mason, the love of her life, died for nothing and everything because of her mother who was supposedly dead but turned out to be alive and in Spain.”

Another person shared: “It’s just clicked in my brain that Mason died at the hands of BECKY!!!! He died snaking out his brother to get Lisa and Betsy closure on it! WHEN BETSY FINDS OUT.”

A third added: “They really killed Mason off for a woman who’s not even dead.”

  • Exclusive: Becky Swain’s ‘back from the dead’ in Coronation Street – but, is Lisa still technically married to her? Legal expert gives answers

    [ad_1]

Becky Swain has ‘returned from the dead’ in Coronation Street, but does this mean that Lisa is still married?

Lisa believed that her wife Becky had died almost four years ago. She then eventually moved on and recently got engaged to Carla Connor.

But, last night (Monday, September 8), she was in for a shock. Her wife Becky turned out to be alive.

Lisa and Carla are engaged (Credit: ITV)

Carla and Lisa engaged – but Becky Swain’s alive

Carla and Lisa recently celebrated their engagement on the Street after Lisa got down on one knee and proposed to Carla in full police uniform.

The happy couple then visited Roy as Carla asked if he’d walk her down the aisle.

But, barely a week after their engagement, a true ‘spanner has been thrown into the works.’

Last night, on Betsy’s 18th birthday, her eyes welled up with tears as Lisa Swain gifted her an old necklace of Becky’s.

Betsy made plans with her friends for the rest of the day. And alone, Lisa sat at home and waited for Carla.

The glass of wine in her hand soon dropped to the floor though when her ‘late’ wife Becky Swain showed up. Yes, the ‘late’ wife she’d been grieving for the last four years. The ‘late’ wife she believed had died on duty during a police chase.

So, is Lisa still married? (Credit: ITV)

Are Lisa and Becky still legally married? Expert gives answers

So, with Becky actually still alive, Swarla fans might be wondering whether she’s still technically Lisa’s wife. If so, this would potentially prevent Carla and Lisa from marrying without a divorce first.

A legal expert has now explained that is highly possible that Lisa and Becky are still legally married although some details of Becky’s death are currently ‘not clear.’

Samuel Mason, family senior associate at law firm, Shakespeare Martineau, said: “On the one hand, Becky Swain was only believed dead for four years, which is significant as typically the courts in England and Wales follow a seven-year rule.

“Since 2014, it has been possible to obtain a declaration of presumed death under the Presumption of Death Act 2013, where, after seven years, families can obtain an order through the High Court declaring that a missing person is deemed to have died effective for all purposes, including ending a marriage.

“On the other hand, it has mentioned on the show that Becky has had a funeral. To have a funeral in the UK, a court declaration, such as a Presumption of Death order or a death certificate, must be issued, but this seems unlikely based on what audiences have seen on screen.

“However, as this ‘funeral’ wasn’t shown on screen, it may be revealed that it was simply a memorial service. This would mean Lisa and Becky Swain are more than likely married, meaning Lisa cannot marry Carla until the couple divorce.”

The woman could be seen wearing a baseball cap and a green coat. And, fans think she’s Becky Swain.

Who was Roy talking to? (Credit: ITV)

Roy speaks to mystery woman at the hospital

With Roy still complaining of back pains, Carla suggested he headed to the walk-in clinic at Weatherfield General to get checked out.

Roy was reluctant to at first but decided to head there so that he could be present at Carla and Lisa’s engagement meal later on.

At the hospital, Roy bumped into Evelyn who had taken one of her fellow students dressed up as Frida Kahlo to get checked out after injuring herself doing high kicks off the top of her fridge.

As the pair were catching up, a woman walked in as Roy rushed to grab the door. He then apologised for not noticing her.

The woman then said ‘no worries, it’s these trainers, great soles, quiet as a mouse,’ before walking off…

Lisa meets ‘Tia Wardley’ in Coronation Street

Lisa Swain sat down for her engagement meal in the Bistro tonight. A young woman then introduced herself as Tia Wardley.

She then sat down with Lisa and Kit and explained that Becky had helped her get on the right path and that she’d be banged up in prison if she hadn’t.

Kit and Lisa then realised that they’d completely gotten the wrong end of the stick about Tia, having no idea that the woman was pretending to be her and working with DI Costello.

After the meal, Lisa and Carl walked home but Lisa felt as though someone was watching her. She then told Carla that it felt like ‘someone just walked over her grave.’

Is this woman actually Becky? (Credit: ITV)

Coronation Street fans predict Becky Swain twist

With the mystery woman at the hospital getting a few lines, fans don’t think she’s just an extra. After Lisa’s comment about someone ‘walking over her grave,’ viewers think that the mystery woman is Becky and that she’s back on the cobbles.

This would mean that Becky Swain never actually died…

One Coronation Street viewer said: “Becky Swain received more mentions in Corrie today, but was she this woman at the hospital?”

Another shared: “Is this green coat lady in the park & the lady in the new photo at the Swarla house Becky or Lisa’s sister?”

A third person wondered: “Are we being Beckybaited? She’s definitely green coat woman in the park. But is she Becky Swain or are assumptions sending us on the wrong path?”

A final person finished: “If Betsy toasts that picture in the kitchen on Monday, then it’s game over and Becky Swain lives!”

Becky Swain’s death in Coronation Street

While we never met Becky Swain on screen, viewers certainly know a lot about her. Becky has been mentioned over a hundred times since Lisa was made a permanent character on the cobbles.

We know that Matty and Logan Radcliffe were involved in Becky Swain’s death. She died on duty and was hit by a car during a police chase. There were also files that explained that Becky was being investigated for corruption shortly before her death.

Lisa’s now uncertain as to how Becky Swain actually died. Carla suggested that Lisa visited Logan Radcliffe in prison to get more answers as to how and why Becky really died. But, Lisa shut down this idea.

She then went alone and got the name Tia Wardley. Meanwhile, Kit Green has been doing some investigating of his own and has warned Lisa that DI Costello might’ve been involved in Becky’s corruption.

Coronation Street fan theory predicts DI Costello killed Becky Swain

With there being corrupt cops all of the time in Soapland, one specific Coronation Street fan theory has suggested that DI Costello might’ve actually killed Becky Swain and has been covering it up from Lisa ever since.

This evening, DI Costello was seen on the phone while informing someone that Kit and Lisa were sniffing around into Becky’s case but he’d ‘deal with it.’ But, did he have anything to do with Becky’s death?

The theory on X read: “Costello is definitely part of this whole thing. ‘He’s been worried about me since Becky died.’ He [bleep] killed her.”

Another person replied: “I think so too. I think he is a big part of the reason the Radcliffes got away with so much.”

But, what really happened to Becky? And, will Lisa Swain ever get answers?
