I love getting dressed just as much as the next fashion person. However, the feeling of topping off a gorgeous look with some jewelry has to be a close second. Seeing how accessories elevate a look and add that perfect splash of personality is so satisfying.

Hailey Bieber and EmRata Shop These Basics in Bulk—6 to Know for 2023

You worked as a top stylist in Hollywood for years before launching Éterne. What made you want to start the brand? And what did you feel was lacking in the market that you wanted Éterne to fill in for?

I started Éterne because as a stylist, I couldn’t find good quality basics that fit really well, at a good price point. I had a huge collection of vintage items that I loved and would use for styling, but realized there was a real need in the market for perfect basics.

What was the first piece(s) you launched the brand with? And now that you’ve evolved the brand in the last few years, has the current best-seller changed

The first piece I designed was the Baby Tee. It’s based on a vintage little boys tee that I wore with absolutely everything, and I couldn’t find anything like it anywhere. It sold out immediately and is still our best seller. We recently launched it in limited edition colors: earth sand, olive and oat.

I know you already have such an incredible roster of A-list clients that includes Kaia, Hailey, EmRata, and the list goes on. Tell me about who you consider to be the “Éterne girl”. What is it about your approach to clothing that you think resonates so much with them? What are your celeb customers reaching for the most and how are they styling their Éterne items?

The Éterne girl is someone who appreciates how pieces fit- along with quality and comfort. Those are the most important things I consider when designing. We have a really wide range of customers, which makes me so happy. Women of all ages, sizes, and professions make up our loyal customer base. Our women really know what they want to wear, and they continuously tell me that they wear the brand every day, that it’s the foundation of their wardrobes.

  • Your Favorite Hoodie Is “Fashion” Now—4 Runway Looks That Prove It

Your Favorite Hoodie Is “Fashion” Now—4 Runway Looks That Prove It

    [ad_1]

If you’re simultaneously obsessed with the latest micro-trends and too intimidated to test them out, you’ve come to the right place. This is Ways to Wear, a monthly series where editor Eliza Huber offers a dose of outfit inspiration centered around current trends that feel intriguing yet overwhelming at the same time. Consider it your guide to actually wearing the coolest items of the moment, no matter how puzzling they might appear at first.

Time and again, Miuccia Prada arrives at fashion month with a wealth of new ideas, both for the family business Prada and the brand she herself created, Miu Miu, in 1993. The fall/winter 2023 season was no different. This time around at Miu Miu, Prada’s collection seemed to zero in on the beauty in imperfection, showcasing models looking intentionally frazzled while dressed in pieces that aren’t usually considered chic or “fashion,” like leggings, sweater sets, and most, significantly, hoodies, which are quickly becoming one of the most talked-about trends of the moment

“Through examination and study, clothes are shifted both in structure and their placement on the body,” a press release from the show reads. “Familiar items—twinsets, knee-length skirts, hooded sweatshirts—move around the figure, afforded different strengths and fragilities through their fabrication.” In more words, Prada was able to breathe new life into pieces that have long been overlooked through high-quality construction, interesting proportions, and intentional styling.

As usual, the designer tapped stylist Lotta Volkova to demonstrate the coolest ways to wear the collection’s offerings, putting simple gray hoodies underneath leather and herringbone peacoats and on top of buttoned-up cashmere cardigans and turtlenecks. With them, some models wore soft leggings and sneakers, and others skipped pants altogether, donning just briefs, tights, and open-toe heels for a more lustrous take on the basic layering piece. From the show, one could easily take away that the possibilities are endless when it comes to wearing hooded sweatshirts in 2023. Then again, everything looks better on the runway, especially when it’s located at the beautiful Palais d’Iéna in Paris. Bringing them off the runway and into the real world is the truest test, which is why I decided to tackle the budding hoodie trend for my latest installment of Ways to Wear

Below, discover my takes on four hoodie-clad looks from Miu Miu’s F/W 23 show and shop the basic that’s gearing up for total domination.

Fall 2023’s Top Runway Trend Was Wearability—12 Ways You Can Copy It RN

    [ad_1]

It’s not every season that most of the big shows during fashion month send looks down the runway that anyone, even someone who might not necessarily consider themselves a “fashion person,” could recreate with pieces they already own. Trust me—I’ve attempted to mimic my fair share of runway looks. Typically, it involves the help of sample pulls, personal purchases, and sometimes even cutting up pieces in my closet. But this fall, you can rest easy knowing that one of the most significant and talked-about trends of the entire season was wearability

From a tank top and jeans closing out Matthieu Blazy’s third show for Bottega Veneta to Miu Miu models donning leggings and zip-up hoodies, there was no shortage of wardrobe staples and basics on the runway at the fall/winter 2023 shows across the board, from New York to Paris and everywhere in between. Tailored coats reigned supreme at Khaite. Blazers accompanied nearly every model at Saint Laurent. And classic denim made appearances at both Alaïa and Gucci. Clearly, designers, like us, have an affinity for pieces that are as versatile and sensible as they are shockingly gorgeous in construction. *Sighs in relief.*

Prepare to save all 60 of the runway looks featured ahead. Trust me, you’ll need them when you go to style all the classic staples in your current wardrobe.

  • Wait, GAP is Low-Key Serving Lately—9 Finds I Tried On That Impressed Me IRL

Wait, GAP is Low-Key Serving Lately—9 Finds I Tried On That Impressed Me IRL

    [ad_1]

Wait, that’s GAP? Is a phrase I’ve heard on repeat all week. After putting a number of their wardrobe basics to the test recently, I’ve gotten nothing but shocked reactions from everyone who’s inquired. Nobody seems to believe that pieces this forward are from the retailer, and even more shocking, that they all ring up for under $100.

Let me rewind a minute. I didn’t just wander over to the GAP site unprompted. First, it was my sister who showed up to our last family holiday in a very Parisian-looking navy striped sweater which she proudly informed me was from GAP. Then, I spotted a few of the retailer’s basic tees being raved about in a TikTok shopping haul. But the real kicker was when I uncovered the most epic silver jeans that I raced to buy after seeing similar styles on the runway during NYFW last month. So while I haven’t shopped at the GAP in years, consider this my official apology letter: sorry I ever overlooked your assortment of cool and classic wardrobing essentials. I won’t do it again!

Now that they’re on my radar again, they need to be on yours, too. In the interest of sharing the wealth, I did a bit of digging around on the site and ended up finding a trove of cool spring staples that I never would have otherwise encountered. I decided to put my shopping knowledge to good use and do my own version of a GAP haul so that everyone can understand just how good the shopping is there right now.

So behold, the nine best GAP wardrobe basics I can’t stop raving about. Read my reviews and see how each of them look IRL, then add them to your cart because trust me, you won’t be able to resist.

We love an editor try-on story here at Who What Wear. Whether our editorial staffers are testing the latest and greatest for spring in our Great Try On series or our editor is trying on J.Crew’s latest hits, we spend almost as much time snapping mirror pics as we do sitting at our computers. We figure it’s a fantastic way to serve you authentic shopping content, and we are happy to fill our camera rolls with research for you, dear reader.

Today’s subject is affordable basics from Nordstrom. I may have taken a little leeway with the term “basic,” as some of these items lean more toward basic with a twist. But rest assured, my picks are all incredibly versatile, and relatively affordable, with all 18 picks under $100. Additionally, this time I thought I’d infuse some real reviews from Nordstrom shoppers to add a second point of view. You’ll see those sprinkled throughout, as well as a new section at the end featuring a small fraction of the items that just didn’t make the cut. I figure knowing which items are less stellar IRL can be just as valuable as picking out the winners. Start scrolling to get to the cream of the basics crop at Nordstrom.

Leggings, Tees, Hoodies! 5 Outfits With Easy Staples That Are Runway-Approved

    [ad_1]

Wearable, anti-viral fashion was one of the most talked-about trends from the F/W 23 runway shows at fashion month. In short, a return to closet staples that are intended to be worn day to day, instead of the logo-heavy pieces and flashy designs that were prevalent in past seasons. Some of these wearable pieces included polished suiting and sleek separates, while another part included back to the basic staples such as leggings, hoodies, tank tops, and T-shirts—all styled in directional ways that make them look elevated and cool.

Miu Miu proved that the right layering can make legging and cardigan looks feel intentional, Bottega Veneta and Ferragamo ushered in fresh ways to style a simple tank top, and Gucci debuted the easy denim look that is primed to be in every fashion person’s arsenal. These 14 Brands Make the Best Basics, Period

    [ad_1]

If you think about it, the majority of what you wear can probably be classified as a wardrobe basic. That’s certainly the case for me. Most days you’ll find me in jeans and a T-shirt (with trendier accessories), so brands that make good basics are typically my favorite brands.

There are tons of brands out there that do basics, but not all are created equal. Some brands have really mastered the art of making great T-shirts, jeans, blazers, and button-downs (to name a few of the most common basics). And those brands tend to evolve from year to year.

In case you’re in need of a basics refresh, I’ve got you. I made a list of the best affordable (but still epic) and high-end (but worth the investment) basics brands on the market right now. Scroll to make some mental notes and shop some of their best pieces to wear over and over.

  • Sorry, But These 9 Spring Staples Don’t Do It for Me Anymore—9 That Do

Sorry, But These 9 Spring Staples Don’t Do It for Me Anymore—9 That Do

    [ad_1]

I’ll be honest: Spring isn’t historically my favorite season to dress for. Here in NYC, the weather oscillates from cold to hot and back again in the span of a day. Layering is a much trickier art than it looks, and most of the quintessential spring style staples that reemerge every March don’t exactly do it for me.

I think we can all agree that the past two spring seasons have not exactly felt “normal,” so the staples I used to wear between the months of March and June could definitely use an update. I took a look at my closet and will be removing nine outdated spring staples, in particular, because they no longer feel like the freshest options. Items like utility jumpsuits and milkmaid tops that I hoarded for years are getting the boot, and now I have my eye on a few 2023 updates that will make all my spring outfits feel truer to my current style.

With that, keep reading to see which spring staples I’ll be relying on over the course of the next few months and which older ones I’m retiring.

The Internet Has Spoken: 30 of the Most Compelling Fashion Buys on Amazon

    [ad_1]

Whenever I’m in the mood to do a deep shopping dive on Amazon, I have a shot of espresso in hand and my best reading glasses at the ready. The espresso, for having the patience to click and scroll through its thousands of products, and the glasses for reading the dozens and dozens of reviews I’ll inevitably force myself to read. In short, shopping on Amazon is serious business, with the stakes even higher when I’m really looking for the good stuff. Of course, TikTok (and social media in general) is a great resource for finding cool new arrivals or buzzy, trendy items, but it still can be a hit or miss when actually trying them on IRL.

Lucky for you, you can skip the caffeine and just get to the good part—the below list of Amazon fashion items contains all hits and no misses. From artsy expensive-looking jewelry to durable footwear, everything I’ve assembled here I vouch for—whether from actually buying and owning the item or through its glowing reviews via TikTok. I also combed through dozens of TikTok try-on videos to make sure they hold up in the real world, too. It took a lot of espresso shots, but I might have found the most compelling fashion buys on all of Amazon. Happy shopping!

30 Spring Shopping Finds You Have to See If Your Motto Is “Fewer But Better”

    [ad_1]

At the start of this year, I made the executive decision to seriously curb my impulsive purchases and actually save up for the worthwhile wardrobe investments that will outlast trends and outsmart seasons. It’s definitely easier said than done, but this year, I’m setting out to make my closet stronger and last much longer.

I know I’m not the only one feeling this way, either. We’re reaching a point in fashion where many of us are experiencing trend fatigue, and while I personally don’t foresee trends ever ceasing to exist, I think the answer to this exhaustion is twofold: narrowing in on a personal style that isn’t so easily swayed by fleeting trends and being a pickier shopper—a much pickier shopper. For me, that means I’m focused on building a wardrobe that’s timeless and trend agnostic and, most importantly, feels like me.

When it comes to shopping, I’m navigating things with a “fewer but better” mindset, and now that spring’s new arrivals are finally hitting the market, I figured I’d share what I’m currently eyeing in case you, too, want to shop like me. With that, here are the 30 best investment buys I’m prioritizing for spring 2023. They’re cool, they’re classic, and they’re designed to last.

We Hate to Say It, But These 8 Basics Are Out—Every 2023 Version to Try Instead

    [ad_1]

Is it just me, or are wardrobe basics getting a complete overhaul? While they have always maintained an important status in our closets and contributed to many chic outfits, I don’t remember them ever being this good. In fact, I really only go out of my way to restock these basics when my closet is in desperate need of fresh versions, and only begrudgingly at that. For me, buying these run-of-the-mill clothing items, as useful as they are, is like flossing—I know it’s in my best interest, but it rarely excites me to do it.

Suddenly, though, several new trendy basics have emerged, and they’re so good that they’re actually making me eager to do some shopping. Items such as nipped-in blazers, oversize drop earrings, and low-slung denim are beginning to win over fashion girls from Copenhagen to Miami, and inevitably, they’ve all but taken over my feed (and my shopping cart) while threatening to replace their now-outdated counterparts. I’m smitten with beautiful basics and know you will be too, which is why I’m highlighting eight of them here and breaking down the now-outdated versions they might be replacing.
