  • Strictly star admits ‘I’ve enjoyed it so much’ as she becomes latest contestant eliminated from BBC show

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing hosted its Halloween spooktacular last night (November 1) – but tonight in the BBC ballroom it was a Halloween horror for one couple, as they became the latest pair to exit the competition as the results came in.

Tonight on Strictly, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman revealed that Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola and Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon would battle it out in the dance-off.

And, after both performed their routines again – Ellie a Tango and Balvinder a Rumba – it was down to the judges to decide which couple would live to dance another day…

Strictly results – Ellie and Vito sent packing

Sadly for Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola, the judges decided unanimously to save Balvinder and Julian. Her exit came after a week of speculation surrounding her future in the show after rumours that she’d quit.

Before they took to the floor for their last dance, Vito told Ellie: “Honestly, there are no words I can use to describe how proud I am of you and you did really change my life so much. You made me such a better person.

“At the beginning of this year, I said to myself please, please, please can you send me a beautiful angel into my life? And now you arrived. I’ve never had a little sister but I always wanted one. Now, I have you and you’re my little sister forever, and your big brother is always by your side.”

When asked about how much she enjoyed dancing with Vito, Ellie then said: “I’ve enjoyed it so much! He is a kind person and all I wanted from day one. You have been so heartwarming, thank you to you.”

    Fans react

Viewers were sad to see Ellie go, but concluded that it was probably the right decision to send her home over Balvinder. However, there was sadness for Vito, who has made the final every single year since starting on Strictly.

He won with Fleur East in 2023, and was a runner-up with Ellie Leach in 2022 and Sarah Hadland in 2024.

“Crazy that this is the first time Vito’s been eliminated on Strictly,” one pointed out. “He’s been in the final every year since starting the show.” A second said: “The right choice at this stage I think, although I’m gutted to lose Vito for the first time since he joined the show.”

Others hailed Ellie’s performance on the show. “I think it could only go that way. She had a ball and was throwing herself at it. The height difference was always going to be a massive issue in hold,” said one.

Another commented: “Sad to see Ellie go. She has been fantastic and such a lovely partnership with Vito. He has been the best teacher and friend to Ellie. Be very proud of yourself Ellie.”

Ellie and Vito will be on It Takes Two tomorrow night (November 3) at 6.30pm on BBC Two.

  • Strictly Come Dancing star Balvinder Sopal was ‘crushed’ to be in the dance-off again

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing star Balvinder Soap has revealed her emotional reaction to having to compete in the dance-off for a second time.

At the weekend, Balvinder found herself and pro-partner Julian Caillon in the bottom-two for the second week in a row. This week she went head-to-head with Chris Robshaw, and was ultimately saved by this week’s head judge, Craig Revel Horwood.

But now that she has had a few days to digest, Balvinder has opened up about how grateful she is that Craig saved her. And revealed just how devastated she was to be in that situation again.

Balvinder was ‘crushed’ to be in dance-off

Speaking to Fleur East on tonight’s It Takes Two (October 21), Balvinder opened up on how she felt in that moment.

Balvinder told Fleur: “Really, I think my heart just sank. I felt quite disappointed. I felt we had done enough to come back from the week previous, when we were again in the bottom two. Really, I was crushed.”

As for how Julian motivated Balvinder to keep going, he admitted he didn’t really say or do anything.

He explained: “To be honest, I didn’t really say much as we had just been in there seven days ago. All I said was that I think in those situations where it is high-pressure and high-stress, sometimes the more you try to think – the worse it is.”

Balvinder even joked that while they were waiting to go back in and dance, she made Julian go on a “walk around the VIP tent and tell some jokes” to keep her mind off what was to come.

Fleur then mentioned that in a shock, it was actually Craig who had the deciding say, and chose to save the pair. And Balvinder confirmed how thankful she is.

She told Fleur: “I am so so grateful for Craig, actually. He is one of the scariest judges, I think. But on Sunday night he saved us, and I can not thank him enough.”

What will Balvinder and Julian be dancing to this weekend on Strictly?

Instead of focussing on being in the dance-off the last two weeks, Balvinder and Julian are looking ahead. For icon’s week, it was revealed the pair are taking on a quickstep to Beyonce’s Texas Hold ‘Em.

Gushing about their partnership, Julian explained: “I have known since the pairing day, when we did a five second waltz, that Bal has it. And I am so grateful that we have the opportunity to keep going and keep dancing.”

Fleur praised the pair: “You got through. You have survived to icon’s week.”

Balvinder confirmed she is “excited” to be doing a Beyonce song, and that she is looking forward to the dance.

She said: “They are pretty big boots to fill. But how exciting that we get to burst out on the stage. And I am really looking forward to it. It is going to be fun.”

Julian joked that he has “got a Queen B” already.

We’re excited to see how it looks on the night!

  • Latest Strictly Come Dancing elimination leaves viewers furious as La Voix avoids dance-off

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing has said goodbye to its third couple of the 2025 series – and the result has left viewers shocked to their core.

Last weekend saw Ross King leave the competition. His exit came a week after Thomas Skinner’s Strictly journey came to an end.

Now Strictly fans have been forced to say goodbye to another pair… And it’s a result which has raised many an eyebrow with viewers at home.

Strictly results – Chris and Nadiya exit the competition

Last night on Strictly Come Dancing, La Voix and Aljaz Skorjanec were placed at the very bottom of the leaderboard. The blow came after their cha cha cha failed to impress the judges, who handed them just 12 points.

Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychokova were above them with 24 points. Meanwhile, Harry and Karen and Stefan and Dianne both finished up with 26 points.

But only one of the bottom four couples were in the dance-off, with Balvinder Sopal and partner Julian Caillon joining Chris and Nadiya in the fight for survival.

Ultimately, after both performed their routines again, it was rugby ace Chris Robshaw who was sent for an early bath, exiting the series in 13th place.

Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke saved Chris and Nadiya. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse saved Balvinder and Julian. However, as Craig was the judge who held the deciding vote tonight, Balvinder was saved.

However, viewers really didn’t think Chris deserved to go, commenting that La Voix’s dance was by far the worst of the night. Others were upset that EastEnders star Balvinder found herself in the bottom two for the second week running.

One said: “I don’t understand why Balvinder isn’t getting the support. She is incredible and her Paso was brilliant.” A second commented: “Bal was SENSATIONAL tonight. how the fudge is she in the bottom two, AGAIN?! especially over La Voix who was scored a 2! Absolutely ridiculous. I’m so glad Bal is through but she shouldn’t have been in the dance-off.”

A third commented: “I can’t believe Balvinder was in the dance off again, why? I voted for her, but she clearly doesn’t have the public support, which is a great shame.”

“Noo! Chris wasn’t great, but La Voix was dreadful!” said another.

“Who on earth voted La Voix this week? Thoroughly deserved to be bottom and should have been bottom two and eliminated as both couples in dance off danced better this week,” another declared.

“Love La Voix but I was convinced she would be in the bottom two tonight. And it was warranted sadly. It was a car crash. I’m not sure people aren’t seeing in Balvinder – I think she’s what Strictly is about and seems lovely,” another said sadly.

  • Strictly star Balvinder Sopal hits back following Shirley Ballas’ criticism as she addresses being in the dance off

    [ad_1]

Strictly It Takes Two tonight (Tuesday, October 14) saw Balvinder Sopal discuss being in the dance off on Sunday night’s show (October 12).

Balvinder and her pro dance partner, Julian Caillon, danced off against Ross King and Jowita Przystal on Sunday, with Ross being sent home by the judges.

Strictly star Balvinder Sopal on being in the dance off

Speaking to Fleur East during tonight’s show, Balvinder addressed her performance on Saturday (October 11), which saw Shirley Ballas criticise her footwork and technique.

“The footwork for me was by no means very good,” Shirley said at the time.

“Hold on, hold on, because I do believe that Balvinder is going to go far. But she’s not going to go far if everything is mushy and cushy and ‘oh you’re just great’. I want her to learn something. I want you to pay attention to a heel turn. Heel turns were missed. The slows weren’t quite there. The quick quicks looked a bit stuck. So I believe that with all this beauty and finesse that you have given, you are stunning, but footwork will need attention.”

Shirley then gave them a score of six.

Speaking about the foxtrot, Balvinder said: “Well, I’m very proud. When I watched it back, I thought it looked absolutely beautiful. We played the parts really beautifully. I think audiences connected with it as well. You know, there was a real warmth to the foxtrot. And it was beautiful to dance as well.”

    ‘Something went amiss’

Continuing, Balvinder laughed: “felt like we were connected, but something went amiss.”

The star then went on to say that each week, it gets “easier” confidence-wise as she knows the “formula now”. She added that it helps having an audience there, cheering them on and wanting them to do well.

Balvinder then went on to speak about the “incredible” support she’s received over the weekend.

“My phone was on fire with messages of support and people disagreeing with the outcome,” she then said.

The star then continued, saying that the support “kind of restored a little bit of confidence in me, you know, that we are hitting all the right tones with the public, which is a great thing.

“I think people thought we were safe, which is maybe why they didn’t vote for us…,” she then said.

“But, you know, at the same time, there’s always going to be two couples in the bottom two, and you just never know which way it’s gonna go,” Julian then added.

Balvinder then added that they handled being in the bottom two “really well” and were “really calm”.

“I was actually more stressed about the fact that Bal was calm, because either she is pumped, she’s ready to go, or it’s absolutely fallen apart. Deep down I knew that we were going to go out there and do our thing,” Julian then added.

  • Strictly fans “shocked” as next couple to leave the show revealed: “Wasn’t expecting that!”

    [ad_1]

Strictly Come Dancing stars Ross King and Balvinder Sopal were in the dance-off on tonight’s show – but who left the BBC ballroom series?

Last night, the cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 brought the magic of the movies to life as part of the show’s Movie Week.

Cynthia Erivo joined the panel, but complaints poured in when she was ‘banned’ from scoring. Vicky Pattison, meanwhile, appeared “upset” over some harsh criticism from the judges.

But who survived to dance another day and move one step closer to that Glitterball Trophy?

Who left Strictly Come Dancing tonight?

Tonight’s results show (October 12) saw Ross and Balvinder in the bottom two. And, after they both performed their dances again – Ross, a Thunderbirds-themed paso doble, and Balvinder a foxtrot – it was over to the judges to cast their votes.

In a unanimous decision, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke all voted to save Balvinder. Shirley Ballas, this week’s head judge, was then asked, if she had been called upon to vote, who would she have saved?

Despite what viewers saw as harsh criticism from Shirley to Balvinder on Saturday night, she still chose to save the EastEnders star. So Ross King was eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing tonight.

    Ross heaps praise on Jowita

Ross told host Tess Daly: “I have loved every single minute of it. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they’ve been amazing. I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.”

Turning to pro partner Jowita Przystal, he added: “And, I want to thank a very special lady who has been with me through it all and has been absolutely everything: she’s been a mentor, teacher, carer… I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you judges for all your remarks.”

Although the majority agreed it was Ross’ time to leave, many were sad to see him go.

One commented: “I know he wasn’t a good dancer but really wanted him to stay in it longer and see him improve.” “Correct decision. I do feel bad for Jowita though, she’s a beautiful dancer,” said a second.

“I’m honestly shocked Chris [Robshaw] was safe,” another commented. “Here we go again. Is it a dancing competition or a popularity contest? Nobody in week three is going to be perfect, but there were others who should have been in the dance-off,” another said.

Another agreed and said: “I agree that the correct one left, watching him dance was painful. However, who should have been there with him? Probably Chris, based on skills. You can’t control popularity votes through dance ability though.”

“Wasn’t expecting that!! Thought it would have been Chris!!” another declared. “I did not expect that result! She did not deserve to be in the dance off. I honestly thought it would be Chris and Ross. The right one has been voted off,” another added.
