    Some MCU fans are convinced that Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes won’t be making it out of Avengers: Doomsday alive.

    Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released in United States theaters later this year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is scheduled for 2027.

    Why do MCU fans think Sebastian Stan’s Bucky will die in Avengers: Doomsday?

    It has been confirmed that Stan will reprise his MCU role as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in Avengers: Doomsday, though whether or not he’s also part of the cast for Avengers: Secret Wars remains to be seen.

    In light of the news that Stan is now in talks to play a character in Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2, also known as The Batman Part II, many Marvel fans are now convinced this means Bucky will die in Doomsday.

    The logic behind this reasoning seems to be that Avengers: Secret Wars and The Batman 2 will be filming at the same time. While this very well may be true, it’s still entirely possible that Stan could appear in both films. Avengers: Doomsday, in comparison, began filming at the end of April 2024, and production lasted all the way to mid-September. The entire ensemble cast was not on set during that whole time, meaning Stan could theoretically do both projects.

    For now, MCU fans will have to wait until December 18, 2026, to see who survives Doomsday and who doesn’t. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027.

    As for The Batman 2, that movie — which is part of Matt Reeves’ The Batman Epic Crime Saga — is scheduled to be released between Doomsday and Secret Wars on October 1, 2027. Robert Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman/Bruce Wayne, while Scarlett Johansson has also been cast in the film.

The story concerns Alice (Rice), “a brilliant but troubled physicist who attempts to heal her trauma by using time travel, but gets caught in a twisty, cat-and-mouse game of murder and violence in New York City.”

    Red Snow

    Screen Daily additionally has word Hannu-Pekka Björkman and Anni Iikkanen will star in Red Snow, a Christmas-set Finnish horror-comedy from Ilja Rautsi concerning “a 16-year-old girl who dreams of a glittering vampire prince but instead is met on the night before Christmas by a balding, beer-bellied 49-year-old bloodsucker in a Santa suit who invades homes and devours entire families.”

    Avengers: Secret Wars

    According to Hollywood North Buzz, Avengers: Secret Wars will mirror Doomsday‘s April-through-September shooting schedule next year in Vancouver.

    Speaking with Marvel Cinematic Universe News, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins addressed a potential return to the DCU.

    You never say never because I love Wonder Woman. But at the moment, I’m so excited with what I’m doing, and it’s always good to do something new. I loved making superhero movies…you never know, but I’m having a good time.

    Spider-Man: Brand New Day

    Elsewhere, Tramell Tillman took umbrage at the suggestion his Spider-Man: Brand New Day character is a “villain” in a recent interview with Variety.

    Clayface

    Principal photography has wrapped on Clayface, according to an Instagram story from actor Tom Rhy Harries captured by Screen Rant.

    Lanterns

    According to THR, HBO’s Lanterns has been delayed and will now “come after Supergirl” in DC’s release schedule.

    We also have a trailer for The Convent, a film inspired by the true story of an 18th-century convent in Corella, Spain, whose nuns were accused of being a coven seeking a suitable vessel for the son of Satan.

    Shawn Levy is speaking out on rumours that he might be taking the reins on the highly-anticipated “Avengers: Secret Wars”.

    The director sat down with ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey to discuss his new Netflix series based off the Pulitzer Prize winning book, “All The Light You Cannot See” during TIFF 2023.

    Asked whether he is aware of rumours attaching him to the upcoming blockbuster, Levy coyly replied, “I read that rumour, and that’s all I’m gonna say.”

    Levy also shared an update on “Deadpool 3”, revealing that the film is currently “paused from shooting”, meaning that they’ve been “working on editing”.

    The Canadian filmmaker went on to praise both “Deadpool” actor Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who will reprise his role as Wolverine for the third installment in the superhero franchise.

    “[Ryan] and Hugh Jackman are two actors who – long before this moment – I felt, they see what I do. They see me,” he shared.

    Insisting that “Deadpool 3” will stay “grounded” now that it has become part of the MCU, Levy added, “Ryan and I decided very early, people love ‘Deadpool’ obviously because it’s funny. Above everything else, it’s funny. It’s raw, it’s a little gritty. It’s not trying to be slick or too polished. It’s definitely not aliens fighting in space environments, it’s real-world grounded. So, we decided that we were gonna shoot the vast majority of this movie outside in the world. We don’t want it to look like set-extensions on sound stages.”

    Disney pushes back ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, ‘Blade’, other Marvel movie release dates

    Walt Disney Co announced on Tuesday it will be pushing back the release dates for numerous upcoming Marvel films including, “Blade,” “Fantastic Four” and “Avengers: Secret Wars.”

    Following “Blade” director Bassam Tariq’s departure from the project in September due to scheduling conflicts, Marvel has decided to temporarily shut down production of the film to search for a new director. “Blade” is now slated to premiere on Sept. 6, 2024 instead of Nov. 3, 2023, which has impacted the rest of the studios’ production scheduling.

    “Deadpool 3” has moved from Sept. 6, 2024 to Nov. 8, 2024; “Fantastic Four” has been shifted from Nov. 8, 2024 to Feb. 14, 2025; an untitled Marvel project was moved from Feb. 14, 2025 to Nov. 7, 2025; “Avengers: Secret Wars” has been pushed from Nov. 7, 2025 to May 1, 2026; and an untitled Marvel movie went from May 1, 2026 to no longer being on Disney’s release schedule.

    A source familiar with the studio’s plans told Reuters that Marvel is using the “Blade” production break to find a replacement for Tariq to work with “Moon Knight” writer Beau DeMayo, who’s the main screenwriter for “Blade.”

    An unnamed source with authority on the film starring Oscar winner Mahershala Ali told The Hollywood Reporter that “They want to get it right,” which subsequently means delays.

    The Marvel Blade character who first appeared in comic book “The Tomb of Dracula,” written by Marv Wolfman in 1973 eventually had his own storyline that was later adapted into the Wesley Snipes film trilogy which includes, “Blade,” “Blade II” and “Blade Trinity.”

    Throughout the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, stories have been intertwined and a significant delay from one film often impacts the slate for others. A similar postponement was made for the film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” due to the pandemic and led to “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” being pushed back as well.
