    SOG sleuths had received information regarding marijuana plantations in the farm of Vikramsinh Pagi in the Dalwada village of Shehra taluka. A team of SOG personnel then raided the farm and discovered the plants.
    According to sources, the plants weighed 31.83 kg and were fully grown. The seizure is valued at Rs 31.83 lakh. tnn

    COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) arrested a man with multiple charges and seized approximately 1.6 pounds marijuana.

    According to MCSO, its Drug, Gang, Fugitive Unit, and the U.S. Marshal’s Services arrested Michael Cooper-Bledsoe on May 16 on outstanding warrants. A search warrant was obtained.

    Police say, and Cooper-Bledsoe was apprehended on Amour Road. He was taken to the Muscogee County Jail.

    MCSO mentioned he had the following charges:

    • 2 counts of felony murder
    • 1 count of malice murder
    • 4 counts of violation of the street gang terrorism prevention act
    • 1 count of tampering with evidence
    • 1 count of giving false statements
    • 1 count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
    • Willful obstruction of law enforcement
    • Theft by receiving stolen property (firearm)
    • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime
    • Trafficking methamphetamine
    • Violation of probation recorder’s court

    Cooper-Bledsoe will also have an additional charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, MSCO added.

    OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Below is a roundup of sentences handed down last week in federal court in Omaha, according to updates from acting U.S. Attorney Steven Russell.

    The acting U.S. Attorney’s office in Omaha reminds the public that there is no parole in the federal system.

    Kristen M. Patterson, 40, of Omaha, was sentenced on May 3 by Judge Brian C. Buescher to 6 years in prison for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a felon. In April 2021, Omaha Police allegedly saw Patterson’s truck and trailer blocking an entrance to a storage facility. Police ran the plates and allegedly discovered the trailer was stolen. Police then used loudspeakers, patrol lights, a spotlight and sirens to attempt to call Patterson out of the truck for roughly 20 minutes and Patterson allegedly did not comply. Police then made contact and allegedly found a knife and a gun within hands reach. Patterson was a felon at the time and was not allowed to have guns. Patterson testified at trial that she didn’t know the gun was in the truck and a jury found her guilty.

    Marques Eiland, 28, and Aarion Jenkins, 29, both of Omaha, were sentenced on May 3 by Judge Brian C. Buescher for conspiring to distribute marijuana. The Judge sentenced Eiland to 2 years and 7 months in prison. Jenkins had already served 11 months for conduct relating to the conspiracy and was sentenced to an additional 3 years and 4 months.     Bay of Plenty Police arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted a store worker before fleeing the scene with stolen items earlier this month.

    A man has been charged in relation to an aggravated robbery at a commercial business on Cameron Rd on April 8.

    Police were called at about 3.35pm after a man allegedly presented a weapon and assaulted a store worker before stealing items from the store and fleeing the scene.

    The store worker received minor injuries.

    After an investigation, police arrested a 34-year-old man yesterday and charged him in relation to the incident.

    He is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow.

    NEW BRAUNFELS – Three men are behind bars after New Braunfels police said they seized $260,000 in cash, firearms, and 11 pounds of marijuana from their vehicles.

    The incident happened just after 7:30 p.m., Saturday, in the parking lot of Fischer Park.

    Witnesses told police there were three “suspicious” men dressed in all-black clothing next to two vehicles. They also claimed the men had large amounts of cash and firearms in plain view, police said.

    Two of the men were found to have active warrants for their arrests and police detained them while a K-9 officer sniffed through their vehicles — a white Cadillac Escalade and a gray Honda Civic.

    During that search, the police canine found $260,000 in cash and two large trash bags containing 11 pounds of marijuana, a stolen handgun and two other firearms.

    Listed below are the men who were arrested and taken to the Comal County Jail:

    • Eduardo Javier Munoz, 25, of Ft. Worth

    • Jonathan Martinez, 26, of Ft. Worth

    • Aaron Scott Dittman Jr., 24, of Ft. Worth

    Police said each of the men is charged with possession of marijuana (greater than five pounds but less than or equal to 50 pounds) and engaging in organized criminal activity.

    Dittman Jr. had an active warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon out of Tarrant County, according to authorities.

    Martinez also had an active warrant, but out of Ft. Worth for assault causing bodily injury.

    THE HAGUE (AP) — The International Criminal Court said Friday it has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin for war crimes because of his alleged involvement in abductions of children from Ukraine.

    The court said in a statement that Putin “is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.”

    It also issued a warrant Friday for the arrest of Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, on similar allegations.

    The court’s president, Piotr Hofmanski, said in a video statement that while the ICC’s judges have issued the warrants, it will be up to the international community to enforce them. The court has no police force of its own to enforce warrants.

    “The ICC is doing its part of work as a court of law. The judges issued arrest warrants. The execution depends on international cooperation.”

    A possible trial of any Russians at the ICC remains a long way off, as Moscow does recognize the court’s jurisdiction — a position reaffirmed earlier this week by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov — and does not extradite its nationals.

    Ukraine also is not a member of the court, but it has granted the ICC jurisdiction over its territory and ICC prosecutor Karim Khan has visited four times since opening an investigation a year ago.

    The ICC said that its pretrial chamber found there were “reasonable grounds to believe that each suspect bears responsibility for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population and that of unlawful transfer of population from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation, in prejudice of Ukrainian children.”

    The court statement said that “there are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr Putin bears individual criminal responsibility” for the child abductions “for having committed the acts directly, jointly with others and/or through others [and] for his failure to exercise control properly over civilian and military subordinates who committed the acts.”

    On Thursday, a U.N.-backed inquiry cited Russian attacks against civilians in Ukraine, including systematic torture and killing in occupied regions, among potential issues that amount to war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity.

    The sweeping investigation also found crimes committed against Ukrainians on Russian territory, including deported Ukrainian children who were prevented from reuniting with their families, a “filtration” system aimed at singling out Ukrainians for detention, and torture and inhumane detention conditions.

    But on Friday, the ICC put the face of Putin on the child abduction allegations.

    The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced the closure of the Bitzlato cryptocurrency exchange, along with the FBI’s arrest of the exchange’s owner, Anatoly Legkodymov. In a live stream hosted on January 18, representatives from the law enforcement bureau revealed that the Hong Kong-based exchange was allegedly a part of a large illicit cryptocurrency network designed to circumvent sanctions, launder money and conceal crimes. 

    “Legkodymov operated Bitzlato as a high-tech financial hub that, in his own words, catered to ‘known crooks,’” the DOJ statement reads. “Bitzlato failed to implement safeguards required by U.S. law – safeguards that enable authorities to detect and investigate financial crimes.”

    Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder and former CEO of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has been arrested in the Bahamas by local authorities.

    The arrest followed receipt of formal notification from the U.S. that it had filed criminal charges against SBF, per a statement from the Attorney General of the Bahamas. SBF’s extradition to the U.S. will likely be requested.

    SBF has been on the news for a couple of years, but it wasn’t until recently that such coverage turned a dark corner. The Jane Street alumni turned crypto founder ultimately led his creations, FTX and Alameda Research, to insolvency as SBF’s severe mismanagement of users’ funds came to light. He then filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and resigned as CEO.

    Sam Bankman-Fried, the ex-CEO of defunct cryptocurrency company FTX, has been arrested in the Bahamas, authorities said Monday.

    The office of the attorney general of the Bahamas said in an announcement that it will extradite Bankman-Fried to the United States, where he is wanted on unspecified criminal charges, as soon as a formal request is made.

    “The Bahamas and United States have a shared interest in holding accountable all individuals associated with FTX who may have betrayed the public trust and broken the law,” Bahamian Prime Minister Philip Davis said in a statement.

    Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced shortly after the arrest that his office expects to unseal its indictment involving Bankman-Fried on Tuesday morning.

    Bankman-Fried, 30, served as the CEO of the massive cryptocurrency exchange FTX until last month, when the company suddenly imploded and filed for bankruptcy protection. Following complaints that he misused billions in customers’ money, multiple U.S. regulatory agencies launched investigations into his dealings in the largely unregulated cryptocurrency industry.

    News of his arrest in the Bahamas comes the same day that new FTX CEO John J. Ray III, who also oversaw Enron’s bankruptcy in the early 2000s, gave a statement outlining his predecessor’s “unacceptable management practices.” Among them was a company “spending binge in late 2021 through 2022, during which approximately $5 billion was spent buying a myriad of businesses and investments, many of which may be worth only a fraction of what was paid for them.

    The campaign finance watchdog Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington also recently filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission accusing Bankman-Fried of breaking federal laws by using dark money groups to hide millions in campaign donations to Republicans in the lead-up to the 2022 primaries.

    Three people have been arrested for stealing cellphones at the 2022 edition of EDC Orlando, according to police.

    Detectives are now searching for the owners of over 70 phones recovered after detaining the individuals. The Orlando Police Department said they seized a backpack containing the stolen phones.

    Police didn’t release the suspects’ names but said the launch of an investigation and ensuing “proactive steps” led them to the arrests. They’re now encouraging the public to use EDC Orlando’s “Lost & Found” submission hub to retrieve the phones.

    A suspect was arrested Thursday after allegedly breaking into Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs’ gubernatorial campaign office, police announced Thursday, a crime that the Democratic candidate has linked to ongoing threats of voter intimidation and allegations of fraud in the state ahead of the midterm elections.

    Phoenix Police said Thursday an arrest has been made regarding a commercial burglary at the address of Hobbs’ campaign headquarters, which the campaign confirmed to CNN was linked to the burglary at its office.

    The campaign and local police announced Wednesday a break-in had taken place on Tuesday, with police saying in a statement only that “items were taken from the property sometime during the night.”

    Hobbs’ campaign blamed supporters of Kari Lake, the Republican gubernatorial candidate, for the break-in in a statement Wednesday, saying Lake and her allies “have been spreading dangerous misinformation and inciting threats against anyone they see fit.”

    Attacks on elected officials and voter intimidation threats “are the direct result of a concerted campaign of lies and intimidation,” the Hobbs campaign said.

    Lake responded to the allegations earlier on Thursday, calling them “absolutely absurd” and “despicable” and that the situation “sounds like a Jussie Smollett part two.”

    Police have not yet named the suspect who was arrested, saying further information would come Thursday afternoon.

    The break-in at Hobbs’ office comes amid concerns about voter intimidation and harassment in Arizona as voting in the midterms has gotten underway, which Hobbs has also overseen in her role as secretary of state. Hobbs has referred at least six cases of alleged voter intimidation and harassment of an election worker to the state Attorney General and U.S. Department of Justice in recent days, her office announced, including reports of voters being recorded, photographed and followed by a vehicle after casting their ballots at a drop box. Two lawsuits have now been separately filed by voter advocacy organizations seeking court orders to stop grassroots groups and individuals from intimidating voters, alleging group members have harassed voters at ballot drop boxes, and in some cases have been “armed and wearing tactical gear.” While no allegations have been directly linked to Lake’s campaign, the right-wing candidate has made false claims of election fraud in the 2020 election and refused to explicitly confirm she’ll accept the results if she loses her race. In a tweet posted in July, Lake posted a photo of a ballot drop box that warned, “We are watching drop boxes throughout the state.”

    JONESBORO — The parents of a 7-year-old girl killed in a hit-and-run accident on Sept. 4 have been arrested for their part in the crime.

    Clayton County police said Christal Williams, 33, and Jordan Wint, 36, left their three children alone in a hotel room for nearly four hours to deliver food. At 2:15 a.m., Keymoriona Williams, 7, was captured on video in the Magnolia Bay Hotel & Suites parking lot. She left the lot 10 minutes later walking toward Southside Commercial Parkway and onto Tara Boulevard.

    BROOKLYN (WABC) — Two suspects are now in custody in connection with the robbery of a bishop in Brooklyn.

    Bishop Lamor Whitehead was held up at gunpoint during a live stream of his Sunday morning sermon in July. Whitehead was on stage at Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries when men wearing dark outfits with hoods entered the room.

    On Wednesday, police announced the arrests of 23-year-old Juwan Anderson and 23-year-old Say-Quan Pollack on federal robbery conspiracy and firearm charges.

    Bishop Whitehead told reporters he is relieved police have made an arrest and he is looking forward to moving on with his life.

    “I’m hoping that this clears a lot of things up with my name as far as, you know, the world believing that I’m a villain instead of a victim, and it hurts,” he said.

    The bishop had previously said the men targeted him and his wife and took a total of $1 million in jewelry.

    “As alleged, the defendants brought guns into a place of worship, stealing from two members of the clergy, and terrifying the congregation in the process,” stated United States Attorney Breon Peace.

    The brazenness of the robbery was shocking to those in Whitehead’s church service and watching the livestream.

    “A very, very violent robbery crew that we saw,” said NYPD Inspector Nicholas Fiore. “With no regard to anybody else, in the middle of the mass, holding a child at gunpoint, that’s a pretty rough robbery.”

    And that’s why the NYPD says it became a federal case under the Hobbs Act.

    “We get a 10 year minimum on a robbery with a firearm,” Fiore said.

    The case drew attention to the fact that Whitehead had a million dollars worth of jewelry to steal — something he defended. He says he has no connection to the two suspects.

    Among the questions he has for them, if they wanted the jewelry, why not target him while he was wearing the jewelry out in public — instead choosing to traumatize his family.

    “Why would you go into the church and do what you’ve done?” Whitehead said. “Because you know we don’t have any weapons? Because you know we have peace, you know are coming to serve our Jesus? Right? And that’s just wrong?”

    The two suspects pleaded not guilty.

    A third man is being sought in connection to the robbery and the million dollars worth of jewelry has not been recovered.
