    Renowned music composer AR Rahman has been making headlines due to his recent interview’s remarks. He hinted that he is not getting work in the Hindi film industry because of the communal thing. After his statement, Rahman faced huge flake on social media. Now, the music composer chose to clarify it. In his new statement, he called India his inspiration, teacher and his home. He also stated that the intention has been misunderstood. Rahman also stated that his only purpose is to uplift, honour and serve through music. Here is what he said.

    In the statement, the music composer said, “Dear friends, music has always been my way of connecting, celebrating, and honouring our culture. India is my inspiration, my teacher and my home. I understand that intentions can sometimes be misunderstood. But my purpose has always been to uplift, honour, and serve through music. I have never wished to cause pain, and I hope my sincerity is felt. I feel blessed to be Indian, which enables me to create a space which always allows freedom of expression and celebrates multicultural voices.”

    AR Rahman added, “I remain grateful to this nation, and committed to music that honours the past, celebrates the present, and inspires the future. Jai Hindi, Jai Ho!”

     

    When Kangana Ranaut slammed AR Rahman

    The actress put an Instagram story, “Dear arrahman ji, I face so much prejudice and partiality in the film industry because I support a saffron party yet I must say I have not come across a man more prejudiced and hateful than you, I desperately wanted to narrate my directorial Emergency to you, forget narration, you even refused to meet me.”

    “I was told you don’t want to be a part of a propaganda film. Ironically Emergency was called a masterpiece by all critics even opposition party leaders sent me fan letters appreciating the film for it’s balanced and compassionate approach but you are blinded by your hate. I feel sorry for you.” he added.

    Kangana also revealed that she wanted to narrate AR Rahman her film, Emergency. Apart from the actress, many shared their views about Rahman’s statement. Some also shared that the music composer should be removed from Ramayana. Rahman confirmed that he is composing music for Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi starrer Ramayana. He cleared that he is a still part of the movie.

  • Ram Charan shares BTS PIC from Peddi music session with AR Rahman, confirms first single is ‘coming soon’

    Ram Charan is currently working on his next film, Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The upcoming sports action drama is slated to release on March 27, 2026. Ahead of its release, the RRR actor shared a BTS picture, hinting that the first single from the movie will be unveiled soon.

    Sharing an image via his official Instagram handle, Ram Charan was seen alongside director Buchi Babu Sana and AR Rahman at the latter’s studio. 

    The actor wrote, “#Peddi – an AR Rahman musical. The maestro has captured the soul and emotion of #Peddi like never before. Our first single is coming soon — stay tuned!”

    While the official release date of the single has not been announced, it will be interesting to see Ram appear in an AR Rahman musical for the first time.

    About Peddi

    Ram Charan is slated to appear in the lead role for Peddi. The sports action drama is set against the backdrop of a village-based cricketing tournament.

    With Janhvi Kapoor playing the female lead, the movie also features actors like Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu, Jagapathi Babu, and several others in key roles.

    Ram Charan’s upcoming films

    Ram Charan was last seen in Game Changer. Directed by Shankar, the political action drama told the story of an honest IAS officer who goes head-to-head with a corrupt politician.

    Charan played dual roles alongside an ensemble cast featuring Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, and others. The movie is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Despite the hype prior to release, the movie failed to make an impact among critics and audiences.

    Moreover, it is expected that Charan will next work with director Sukumar for the tentatively titled movie, RC17. However, reports suggest that the project might require more time to materialize.

    Interestingly, the film will mark the second collaboration between Ram and director Sukumar after their blockbuster venture, Rangasthalam.

    Recent reports also indicate that the actor may work on a film under the producer Naga Vamsi’s banner, although an official announcement is still awaited.

    Parineeti Chopra has showcased her exceptional talents not only as an actress but also as a singer. While she has sung in several of her previous Bollywood films, the experience of singing in front of AR Rahman presented a unique and daunting challenge.

    Moreover, having to perform over a Zoom call amidst Mumbai’s bustling traffic added to the complexity. However, Parineeti managed to impress. Despite already being cast in Imtiaz Ali’s Amar Singh Chamkila, she recently shared that she had to audition musically for the Academy Award-winning composer.

    In the film depicting the life of singer Amar Singh Chamkila, often hailed as the Elvis Presley of Punjab, Parineeti Chopra takes on the role of his wife, Amarjot Kaur, who is also a singer. Both Diljit and Parineeti showcased their live singing talents for this movie, which is set in 1980s Punjab.

    During the trailer launch of the film on Thursday, Parineeti disclosed her unconventional audition experience over Zoom for the upcoming Netflix musical drama.

    She said, “Two years ago, I was on my way to Karan Johar’s birthday party when I got a call from Imtiaz Ali sir, asking if I was free. I thought it would be a quick chat, but he said Diljit, Rahman sir, and him are on a zoom call and he wanted me to join as well. I was in a traffic jam and I asked my driver to quickly park the car and asked everyone to be quiet, koi saans bhi na lega that quiet.”

    She added, “The four of us were on zoom call and I thought it would be an introductory hello-hi zoom call. Rahman sir asked me if I know how to sing and I told him I like singing. I thought it was a safe answer and then he told me, ‘Achcha sing and show me.’ I thought gayi picture ab haath se!”

    The actress expressed her apprehension, acknowledging AR Rahman‘s collaborations with some of the most brilliant artists globally. She feared that her singing in front of him might come across as a desperate plea to secure her role in Amar Singh Chamkila. However, she composed herself and decided to sing the only Punjabi song that came to mind at that moment: Duma Dum Mast Kalandar.

    Despite already being confirmed for the film, she described the audition as a musical one. She had assured Rahman that she would sing all the songs in the movie, including those of Amarjot Kaur and Chamkila’s original compositions, as well as Rahman’s. This commitment prompted Rahman to audition her.

    During the launch event, AR Rahman revealed that he had a four-day jamming session with Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra to craft the soundscape of the album. They recorded all the original tracks with the actors, aiming to preserve the purity of the music, which they executed brilliantly.

    Imtiaz Ali expressed his satisfaction with Parineeti’s casting, highlighting her as his top choice for the role. Despite his request for her to gain weight to fit the character, the Meri Pyaari Bindu actress was enthusiastic about the project. When they met, she revealed her long-standing desire to be part of a film where she could showcase her singing talent. Imtiaz was further delighted to find that she also resembled Amarjot Kaur.

    Amar Singh Chamkila portrays the journey of the singer who transcended poverty to become a renowned figure in the 1980s through his music. The film is set to premiere on April 12 on Netflix.

    After firing CEO Parag Agarwal and his core team, Elon Musk’s choice of yet another Indian-origin engineer to help him revamp the microblogging site, Sriram Krishnan, has an interesting connection with Academy Award winning Indian musician AR Rahman – When Krishnan and his wife talked tech with the Mozart of Madras.  

    Krishnan, who invests in crypto/web3 ventures as a General Partner at Silicon Valley VC firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), co-hosts a podcast on product and technologies called Aarthi and Sriram’s Good Time Show along with San Francisco-based entrepreneur and his wife Aarthi Ramamurthy since January 2021.  

    The two, considered a Silicon Valley power couple, quizzed Rahman in an hour-long interview on August 4 mainly about his musical journey but also about how he uses technology in his music, Artificial Intelligence and on Indians building technology companies.    

    To a question on how he applies AI in music, the music maestro said: “If you take mixing, there are certain frequencies we don’t hear. AI helps identify which frequencies are disturbing, what is lacking in a mix, so we can get all that stuff. Some of the organic stuff is really cool. And sorting of samples. It does all those things which took ages to compile. There are many uses of it. Maybe one or two compositions may come out of AI, but any stuff that is cohesive needs to come from a human, so far. That’s a job which can’t be taken away hopefully.”

    Rahman spoke about a doing a course in MIT on imaging and AI when he babysitting his kids during a summer course at Berkeley. “I am a synthesiser and work with algorithm and operators and all this stuff for the past 35 years now. So, it’s just a one-step away thing, not a new thing and I have been dealing with microprocessors, synthesizers and computers and samplers,” he told Krishnan and Aarthi.

    The show, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube has also had co-founder Marc Andrreessen of Silicon Valley VC firm Andreessen Horowitz, Oculus founder Palmer Lucky, Indian comedian Tanmay Bhat, entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuck as guests.   

    In the early part of 2021. Krishnan and his wife launched a Clubhouse talk show that focused on organic conversations on start-ups, venture capitalism and cryptocurrencies. The show featured prominent guests like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Tony Hawk, Diane von Furstenberg, Kanye West, and social media influencer MrBeast. The Good Time Show moved to YouTube from Clubhouse in 2022. 

    An alumnus of SRM Engineering College in Chennai’s Anna University, Krishnan has held jobs at Snap and Twitter before. On October 31, he tweeted:    
    “Now that the word is out: I’m helping out @elonmusk with Twitter temporarily with some other great people. I (and a16z) believe this is a hugely important company and can have great impact on the world and Elon is the person to make it happen.   

    PS. Still very much in my day job at @a16zcrypto. If you’re a crypto founder, you know how to find me,” he said in a Twitter thread on Monday.  

    Krishnan started working with Microsoft in 2007 as a program manager for Visual Studio. He later moved to Facebook where he helped building the Facebook Audience Network, a competitive platform to Google’s ad technologies. He also worked with Snapchat where he built the social media platform’s ad tech platform shortly before the company’s IPO.   

    After serving at some of the top Silicon Valley companies, Krishnan moved to Twitter where he served as senior director of product and contributed to the core user experience and launching a redesigned home page and events experience.
