ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando Resort’s 34th Halloween Horror Nights event begins Aug. 29 with a new sinister lineup lurking throughout the park.
“We are toxifying and mutating,” said Lora Sauls, Universal’s assistant director of Entertainment Creative Development.
Some houses are based on well-known icons for those who follow the horror franchises. That includes “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” where guests follow a night security guard in an abandoned themed-entertainment center.
“It is bringing something to life, immersing guests in the ‘thing’ that they’ve seen,” said Matthew Flood, Universal’s senior show director with Entertainment Creative Development. “So, that film is the incredible experience of being in a defunct pizzeria, and these haunted animatronics are chasing you.”
Another of the 10 HHN haunted houses is based on the “Terrifier” movie franchise. This house oozes with a new sense of terror that takes guests into Art the Clown’s gruesome Funhouse. This is also the house where you’ll smell things that are hard to forget.
“We do use scents in a lot of our houses,” Flood said while laughing. “But Terrifier is the worst offender this year.” (HINT: feces)
Universal’s top chefs are also unleashing a brand-new menu of food and drinks that pays homage to some houses and most feared characters.
The haunting good time runs through Nov. 2.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Disney World revealed new details Thursday for the planned Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
Park officials in November announced the new theme for its popular Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster ride, which had been known for its Aerosmith storyline. This will be the first Disney ride to feature The Muppets, following their departure from the long-running Muppet*Vision 3D show, which closed earlier this year.
The roller coaster will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2026, where the Electric Mayhem are set to headline “their biggest Hollywood concert ever,” according to a post on the official Disney Parks Blog.
“Anyone who’s anyone is in attendance to witness Animal, Dr. Teeth, and the rest of this groove-tastic group rock the house down. There’s just one little problem: the band is nowhere to be found!” Disney shared.
Guests will take a VIP tour of the rock and roll recording studio, G-Force Records, which is now under management of The Muppets. It’s been done with the help of Scooter’s uncle, “real estate tycoon” and Muppet Theatre owner J.P. Grosse.
The iconic guitar continues to serve as the anchor of the attraction, but with a new twist — the ruby red paint is being replaced with a “vibrant and psychedelic new design” on the bottom of the instrument, which Disney says is inspired by the appearance of a classic Muppet car. “The piano motif at the base will feature a golden key as a nod to a certain far-out band leader,” Disney revealed.

The roller coaster, a “very fast limousine,” will take riders on a road trip across Hollywood to make it to the concert in time, full of exciting twists and turns, while enjoying music from the Electric Mayhem in their ears.
“The iconic scenery and landmarks of Tinseltown will feature a Muppet twist,” stated Disney.
Park officials said that more details for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets will be announced soon.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Disney World announced on Tuesday that Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs is getting a Halloween makeover.
Guests can enjoy new themed decor, food and beverages now through Nov. 4, according to a post on the official Disney Parks Blog.
As visitors step into the bar, they will notice pumpkin scarecrows, Jack-O’-lanterns and vintage Beistle-style black cat decorations.
The Halloween Hangar Bar menu offers nine new options including Alien Invader Sliders, Phantom Dumplings, The Spike Trap and Cauldron Cooler.
The bar is based on Jock Lindsey, who Disney describes as “Indiana Jones’ barnstorming pilot who stumbled upon Disney Springs in 1938 while chasing down a mythology-based tip in Central Florida.”
While the popular hangout spot is known to transform into the Holiday Hangar Bar in the wintertime, this is the first time it’s taking on a Halloween theme.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal on Tuesday revealed two new haunted houses joining its Halloween Horror Nights lineup this year: “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and “WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks.”
The houses, both based on popular franchises, are set to debut at Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.
Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Orlando on Aug. 29 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 4, and will both run on select nights.
“Five Nights at Freddy’s”
Universal last month teased a “Five Nights at Freddy’s”-themed attraction coming to Halloween Horror Nights, and now more details are known about what to expect.
The house, based on the 2023 Blumhouse film and video game series, will give guests a chance to follow in Mike’s footsteps, who was fired and is looking for work to keep custody of his little sister, after he accepts a position as a night security guard in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, an abandoned themed entertainment center.
“The terror will start as guests navigate the corridors and learn that nothing at Freddy’s is what it seems when they encounter the supernatural and become lured into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare,” stated Universal.
Fans of the franchise will walk through scenes from the film and spot familiar characters including Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy and Mr. Cupcake, according to Universal, adding that the life-size characters for the houses were created in collaboration with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, who also produced the animatronics and costumes for the movie.
“WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks”
“WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks,” features The Wyatt Sicks and honors the legacy of Bray Wyatt.
“The group derives from the creative mind of Bray Wyatt and was resurrected in 2024 by his brother Bo Dallas, also known as Uncle Howdy — the fearless leader of The Wyatt Sicks,” stated Universal Orlando. “The chilling crew of five has quickly emerged as one of the most disturbing and disruptive groups in WWE history with its ominous presence and portrayal of dark and twisted characters — all of which will come to life at Halloween Horror Nights this fall.”
In this fully immersive experience, WWE fans will encounter familiar characters such as Ramblin Rabbit, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch and Huskus the Pig. They will also be stalked along the way by the presence of The Fiend, Bray’s sadistic alter ego, according to Universal.
