    Superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are all set to reunite on the big screen once again after four decades with their upcoming film, tentatively titled KHxRK. After officially announcing the project with a promo, the makers have now unveiled a new BTS video dismissing speculation about the use of AI.

    Taking to their social media handle, the makers of KHxRK shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video featuring director Nelson Dilipkumar shooting the promo with Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, and musician Anirudh Ravichander.

    Earlier, there were rumors that the actresses featured in the promo had been created using AI and were not real individuals. However, the BTS video confirms that real actresses were used and that no AI technology was involved.

    For those unaware, KHxRK is an upcoming film starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in the lead roles. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie marks the reunion of two stalwarts of Tamil cinema, with the promo hinting at a stylish, light-hearted action entertainer.

    Reportedly, the veteran stars will begin shooting for the film in 2027 after completing their respective pending projects.

    Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s work front

    Rajinikanth will next appear in the lead role in Jailer 2, the sequel directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film is said to feature SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty in key roles.

    With Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar reprising their roles from the first installment, the movie is also expected to feature a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan, which is reportedly scheduled to be shot in March this year.

    Additionally, Rajinikanth has the tentatively titled Thalaivar173 in his lineup, which is reported to begin shooting in April 2026. As the shoot is expected to wrap up by September this year, the film will likely hit the big screens for Pongal next year. Reportedly, Basil Joseph and Priyanka Arul Mohan are being considered for key roles in the film.

    Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan will next play the lead in the tentatively titled KH237. Directed by Anbariv and written by Syam Pushkaran, the film is expected to go on floors after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Additionally, he is filming for Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 this year.

    According to an online report, Pradeep Ranganathan starrer Love Insurance Kompany is expected to release on February 13, 2026, coinciding with Valentine’s Day week. The film is reportedly set to undergo censoring soon, following which an official release date announcement is expected.

Initially, LIK was slated for release on September 18, 2025, but for undisclosed reasons, the film skipped the date and was later announced to hit the silver screens on October 17, coinciding with Diwali last year.

    Meanwhile, Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju starrer Dude had finalized the same release date, which prompted the LIK makers to postpone the film to avoid a clash with another Pradeep starrer. The film was then announced for release on December 18, 2025.

    After multiple postponements, the movie saw no active promotions near the scheduled release date and was believed to be stuck in release limbo, with no official updates from the makers. Now, it appears that the film may finally see the light of day next month, ahead of Valentine’s Day.

    As their romance becomes a threat to Suriyan, the CEO of the love app, the youngster must fight for his love by going up against corporate entities and a technology-driven approach to romance.

    Producers react to audio launch rumors 

    In the most recent update related to the film, the makers of Leo have slammed the rumors that there were political powers meddling with the film’s audio launch. The production house of the film, Seven Screen Studio, put out a post on their social media handle, stating the following.

    “Sir, this is to clarify that this news is not true..”

    The rumors started to swirl owing to the reports by Savukku Media Network that DMK, which is the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, was “arm twisting the producer of Leo”, demanding the distribution rights for the film in Chennai, Chengalpattu, North and South Arcot regions of Tamil Nadu, be given to Red Giant Movies, a production and distribution company owned by actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin. 

    A report by Savukku media also claimed that the political powers were threatening not to give permission to use the Nehru Indoor Stadium, which is the most likely venue for the audio launch. Although there has been no official confirmation with regards to the date and venue of the audio launch, it is speculated that the event will take place on 30th September at the Nehru Indoor Stadium.

    Leo is the fifth directorial venture of Lokesh Kanagaraj. The highly anticipated project features Nayanthara, the lady superstar of South cinema, as the female lead. National award-winner Vijay Sethupathi is appearing as the lead antagonist in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer. Anirudh Ravichander, the popular musician is also foraying into B’town with the project.

    During his Twitter interaction with fans on February 4, Saturday, Shah Rukh Khan spoke extensively about his Jawan team members, for the first time. Even though the Bollywood superstar has opened up about working with director Atlee in some of his early Twitter interactions, this is the first time he spoke about his co-stars from the film, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. King Khan, who is highly impressed with the lady superstar, especially mentioned her langauges skills.

    “Hii sir, #nayantara mam ke saath #Jawan me kaam karke kaisa feel hua ? Any special thing about mam..,” asked a fan during the recent #AskSRK session. Shah Rukh Khan, who replied to the fan’s question, wrote: “She is very sweet. Speaks all languages so well….fantastic experience. Hope u all will like her in the film.”
