Andy Cohen Dishes With ‘And Just Like That”s Cynthia Nixon, Sarah Jessica Parker

    [ad_1]

And Just Like That…, MAX’s sequel to the era-defining dramedy Sex & The City, has only released the three episodes of its second season, but you’d never know it from the media blitz we’ve been getting from its cast. The week closed with Andy Cohen getting not one but two separate scoops on the Sex-iverse: Cynthia Nixon revealed a gross-out scene from yesteryear we never saw; and Sarah Jessica Parker shared concerns about the season’s most-buzzed-about cameo.

Nixon joined Cohen on his Bravo talk show Watch What Happens Live earlier this week to chat about her role as Miranda, which she originated with Sex & The City’s premiere more than 25 years ago. When Cohen asked about storylines cut in the show’s initial run, Nixon recalled “What Goes Around Comes Around,” back in Season 3. Miranda is so nervous about going out with the intimidatingly hot Detective Stevens (Timothy Gibbs) that she drinks too much on their date…but what we didn’t see was the payoff to that scene, in which Miranda throws up on him. Perhaps one of the And Just Like That… writers remembered it, and that’s how we got the Season 1 episode in which Carrie gets too drunk with another bereaved singleton, Jon Tenney’s Peter, and they both puke in the street.

The next day, Parker visited Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live, when — inevitably — the subject of Kim Cattrall’s return to And Just Like That… came up. In case you spent 2021 in a coma (if so: welcome back!), Kim Cattrall did not appear in the show’s first season, though her character, Samantha, was represented in the form of several text messages, and the gift of a floral arrangement for the funeral of Big (Chris Noth), late husband to Parker’s Carrie. Reportedly, the reason for Cattrall’s abstention was a feud between her and Parker, but after a personal appeal from HBO and Max content chairman Casey Bloys, and a request that original series costume designer Patricia Field dress her, Cattrall agreed to reprise her role. (The fact that she shot it entirely separate from any other cast member was not among Cattrall’s reported conditions, but it probably didn’t hurt!)

On Cohen’s show, Parker stated that she “couldn’t have been more upset” that the news of the cameo leaked so long before it would air. “It’s a big bummer because it would’ve been so like fireworks in the middle….It’s a little exchange that is happy and it says everything about their relationship and all the stuff that’s off-camera. They’re talking. They talk all the time, and it comes at a significant moment of the series.”

As someone who watched the entire first season of And Just Like That… hoping it might end with a surprise shot of Samantha happy and thriving on the streets of London (where, we’re informed in the AJLT series premiere, she has relocated), I can’t really disagree with Parker! It’s probably a drag for the cast members who did show up to know a certain segment of the viewership is just going to watch for the Cattrall cameo and then peace out forever, not least because Cattrall has said she is now absolutely, positively done with the franchise. But beyond that, it really would have been so much more fun for us all to have been surprised. Maybe the internet was a mistake.

  • Andy Cohen Clarifies Comments About Being in Love With John Mayer: “Get Ahold of Yourself”

Andy Cohen Clarifies Comments About Being in Love With John Mayer: “Get Ahold of Yourself”

    [ad_1]

Andy Cohen wants everyone to calm down about his bromance with John Mayer. On the June 22 episode of “Radio Andy,” Cohen clarified the remarks he made about being in love with his pal during an interview with Howard Stern from earlier this month. After the interview, his comments led to quite a bit of media coverage, but the “Watch What Happens Live” host thinks everyone needs to calm down.

“I was on Howard Stern last week and he asked me about my friendship with John Mayer and I said, ‘Yeah, you know,’ said kind of flippantly and offhandedly that we love each other,” Cohen said. “It became headline news and the more it became headline news, the more butthurt I got over it. You know why? Are two men not allowed to say that they’re in love? Are we all so flipped out?”

He went on to share a story about how his college roommate was the first heterosexual man to tell Cohen that he loved him. Cohen explained he was struck by how “very pure and real, but not sexual whatsoever” his friend’s declaration was. “That’s why I just think that a friendship of two guys, that doesn’t seem like headline news to me…” he continued. “At first, I thought it was kind of lazy like, ‘Oh, that’s a lazy headline.’ Yes, I offhandedly said we love each other and then the longer it went, I was like, ‘Y’all need to kind of, you know, get ahold of yourself.’”

Cohen made headlines when he told Stern on SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” that he and Mayer are “in love with each other.” However, the Bravo host also clarified that there’s never been anything sexual between him and his longtime friend.

It’s unclear exactly how long Cohen and Mayer have been pals, but they were first spotted hanging out in 2012. Since then, Mayer has spoken at Cohen’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, attended his friend’s baby shower, and made multiple appearances on “Watch What Happens Live.” As for what bonded the duo, Cohen revealed in a 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight that they’re both devoted Grateful Dead fans.

“I would say the Grateful Dead got us a lot closer, ’cause I was already a major deadhead, and he started getting into them and then imagine when your friend starts playing with your favorite band who you thought you would never see again,” he said. “And now, you can actually tour with them. So, that was a big kickstart to everything too.”

  • Amy Schumer Slams ‘Narcissist’ Tom Sandoval After Comments About Ariana Madix Wearing A T-Shirt During Sex

Amy Schumer Slams ‘Narcissist’ Tom Sandoval After Comments About Ariana Madix Wearing A T-Shirt During Sex

    [ad_1]

    By Becca Longmire.

Amy Schumer is a big “Vanderpump Rules” fan, so it’s no surprise she has a few things to say about Scandoval.

The actress spoke about that cheating scandal as she chatted to Andy Cohen on Thursday’s “Watch What Happens Live”.

After Tom Sandoval was slammed earlier this week for criticizing his now ex-girlfriend, Ariana Madix, for having sex with a T-shirt on, Schumer weighed into the debate. And, unsurprisingly, she wasn’t a fan of the comment.

Schumer — who labelled Sandoval a “narcissist” and said she’s never been a fan of him — told Cohen, “When he said, yeah, uh, her T-shirt was on, like, first of all, I usually have sex with a T-shirt on, okay?

“You can’t just be out there in the wind.”

“That was so revolting,” she added. “I just feel like every woman’s vagina just snapped shut when he said that.”

Elsewhere in the chat, Schumer said of Scandoval, “I hope that they fall out of these patterns of getting with these men who just love bomb them. You know, these young women, you think that’s love, somebody just puts that much on you, and that’s not really love.”

Raquel Leviss Plans To Share Her Side Of Tom Sandoval Affair Once Out Of Treatment, Source Says

As Cohen asked whether she thought Leviss and Sandoval might stand a chance as a couple, Schumer insisted, “Of course not.

“He will replace her and put somebody else on a pedestal and then he’ll demean them. She’ll be a casualty, but she’s [28], so she’ll learn. I hope she finds real love and real self-love.”

Sandoval and Leviss have been hitting headlines since March after their months-long affair was revealed. He’d been dating Madix for nine years at the time, when she found a NSFW video of Leviss on his phone.

During the “VPR” season 10 reunion, it was revealed that the affair had actually started before Scheana Shay’s Mexico wedding in August.

  • Chelsea Handler Reveals Membership in the “Surprise, a Three-Way and Subsequent Hookups With a Masseuse Led to a Breakup” Club

Chelsea Handler Reveals Membership in the “Surprise, a Three-Way and Subsequent Hookups With a Masseuse Led to a Breakup” Club

    [ad_1]

Let’s play a counting game, shall we?

One: There is one comedian named Chelsea Handler

Two: Two people are in a romantic relationship: Handler and former NBC Broadcasting chairman Ted Harbert. (Ed note: This was back from 2006 to 2010, but let’s not get carried away with such large numbers just yet.)

Three: Handler and Harbert had a threesome with their female masseuse.

Several: Handler hooked up with the masseuse several more times after their initial encounter, which is “when I knew it was time to break up with the guy,” Handler told Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show Thursday.

OK, so maybe we skipped a few digits, but the premise is there, right?

Handler, 48, dropped the decade-old tea when Cohen asked her if she’d ever dated a woman. “I’ve slept with a woman, but I haven’t dated a woman, no,” she responded. She then explained that she’d had a threesome with her boyfriend at the time and another woman, calling it “fun” and said, “I was very turned on by this woman, I ended up hooking up with her several times without the guy that I was dating.” She then realized that it was probably not such a great sign for her relationship that she was more attracted to the guest star than her then-boyfriend.

She then named Harbert specifically as the boyfriend in question, before saying that she hadn’t told him that she’d hooked up with their masseuse beyond the threesome.

“I don’t think I ever revealed that, but hopefully he’s listening now,” she said, then casually discussed how she’s pretty sure Harbert and his wife are in Portugal, building a new house.

Handler began hosting her E! talk show, Chelsea Lately, in 2007, then later began dating Harbert, who was technically her boss as the head of the network umbrella. In 2012, she told Marie Claire that she and Harbert had broken up because they couldn’t separate work and pleasure.

“I would come home from work, and Ted would be like, ‘Do you want to watch your show?’ and I’d be like, ‘No, I just came from my show. That’s the last thing I’d want to do,’” she said. “That was the reason it didn’t work out, ultimately. I think.”

And as for those who share late comedian Joan Rivers’ belief that Handler “made it on her back, fucking the president…of the network,” as she said in 2012 on a Howard Stern appearance, here’s another thing you can count on: Handler doesn’t care.

“Not really,” Handler said to Cohen when asked if the speculation bothered her. “That stuff doesn’t matter if it’s not true. Obviously, I’ve had a career now for like 25 years, I don’t really care if anyone thinks that.”

VF wasn’t able to reach Harbert for comment and NBC did not immediately return a request for comment.

Andy Cohen Is Hoping To Interview Jen Shah Following Sentencing In Fraud Scheme

    [ad_1]

    By Corey Atad.

Andy Cohen is addressing Jen Shah’s sentencing.

On Monday’s “Andy Cohen Live” on SiriusXM, the TV creator talked about the future of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” after Shah was sentenced to 78 months in prison.

‘RHOSLC’ Star Jen Shah Sentenced To 6.5 Years In Prison

The sentence came down earlier this month, sending her to prison for up to six-and-a-half years for her role in orchestrating a fraud scheme.

“Listen, any old person or anyone who just doesn’t really understand what’s going on with the internet or how many scams are going along, people are susceptible to stuff like this,” Cohen said. “And if you read the Victim Impact report, it was pretty stunning.”

He then revealed, “I’m hoping to go talk to Jen this weekend. I’m hopeful that I can do that sit down with her in front of some cameras and deliver that to you. I’m really hoping to do that.”

As to questions about whether Shah will be able to continue appearing on the show, he said, “She’s going to serve her time. So you tell me, is she on the show or not? I don’t understand what people want me to say.”

Cohen also explained that under federal law, Shah is likely to serve at least five-and-a-half years of her sentence.

That will mean some changes for “RHOSLC”, but Cohen isn’t sweating things.

“Listen, it’ll be a big loss for the show,” he said, but added, “We have great casting for next year.”

Cohen continued, “I’m feeling good. But I am saying it is a loss.”

  • Julia Fox Doesn’t Think Kanye West “Even Knows My Full Name”

Julia Fox Doesn’t Think Kanye West “Even Knows My Full Name”

    [ad_1]

Despite the lavish gift-giving, endless public displays of affection, and their many well-documented date nights, Julia Fox said that her ex-boyfriend Kanye West barely even knows her.

Josh Safdie‘s muse appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live during which host Andy Cohen asked about her short-lived romance with the disgraced rapper. “We were literally together for like a minute,” Fox told him. “I don’t think he even knows my full name or anything.” She and West only dated for about a month at the beginning of last year after his ex-wife Kim Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021. Cohen replied in disbelief, “You don’t think he knows your full name? Julia Fox.” But the actor pointed out that she has a middle name as well. The host then asked her if she was ever “Kanye’s dominatrix,” as that was famously Fox’s profession before becoming a full-time performer. She said that she never was with a smile, but added, “I think he would have liked that, but it just never got there.”

Later on in the episode, Cohen asked if Fox has ever met up with Kardashian to discuss their mutual ex. “I have not talked to Kanye in almost a year and I have been in the same room as Kim, but we’ve never spoken about anything,” she said. “It was a very big room, so I was here and she was here.” Given that her relationship with West turned out to be a dud, the host also asked her to name the best celebrity date she’s ever been on. Fox declined to name names, but said that she and this mystery paramour “flew on a private jet, cuddled on the jet, landed, got some Chanel bags. It was just great.” She later teased that the famous person involved in that story was in fact West’s one-time rap rival, Drake.

While one would think that dating one of the most famous men in the world would be a major professional boon for any young actress, Fox previously told model Emily Ratajkowski on her podcast High Low with EmRata that if anything their relationship actually hurt her career. “After the big relationship, I definitely noticed a shift in the acting way, not in a good way,” she said. “I’m not getting as many offers as I was before, weirdly. There’s been a lot of weird drawbacks with reaching that level of notoriety.” The actor explained that she thinks people in the entertainment industry see her as a “liability” now or a “tabloid type of person.” But Fox isn’t letting this temporary speed bump stop her from pursuing all of her dreams, adding, “I’m so busy. I think things come to you at the right time, so that’s why I’m really not stressing. I really don’t care.”

  • Andy Cohen Gives In To CNN New Year’s Booze Ban, Vows To ‘Have A Blast’ Anyway

Andy Cohen Gives In To CNN New Year’s Booze Ban, Vows To ‘Have A Blast’ Anyway

    [ad_1]

Fans who love watching Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen get progressively drunker over the course of CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” broadcast will have to prepare for a more sober affair this year.

“We aren’t drinking, but we’re going to have a BLAST,” Cohen told Page Six this week, following much speculation about whether the hosts would be getting inebriated this year.

In November, reports emerged that new CNN chairman and CEO Chris Licht would be prohibiting correspondents and anchors from drinking during the New Year’s Eve broadcast. But Cohen said at the time that the ban didn’t apply to him and his co-host, noting: “I think people enjoy watching me try to get Anderson plastered, and I will be.”

Cohen doubled down in a Rolling Stone story published Wednesday, telling the magazine that only the “correspondents” were barred from drinking, and that he and Cooper would “partying even harder on their behalf.”

But he walked back that assertion in his interview with Page Six, saying that he’d made his comments to Rolling Stone a month ago. The Washington Post also confirmed that the ban extends to Cooper and Cohen, citing “a network source.”

  • What Makes a Bravo Legend? Backstage at Andy Cohen’s Legends Ball

What Makes a Bravo Legend? Backstage at Andy Cohen’s Legends Ball

    [ad_1]

By the end of the first day of BravoCon—a three-day convention for fans obsessed with anything and everything Bravo, the network responsible for giving the world The Real Housewives in all of its incarnations—there was a heightened sense of frenzy in the air. Given the events that had already transpired that day, it made sense. A stampede had broken out ahead of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills panel. At said panel, Lisa Rinna was booed by approximately 4,000 people. And, according to Twitter, there may or may not have been an orgy in “the third floor toilet” of the Javits Center, where BravoCon was held. Chaos was in the air.

It was oddly fitting given the evening’s main event: Andy’s Legends Ball, a massive undertaking which would see more than 140 Bravolebrities onstage together—the most ever at one time—for an extra-special, supersized episode of reality-television demigod Andy Cohen’s beloved late-night television program, Watch What Happens Live. “It is a little daunting to think about,” Cohen told Vanity Fair over the phone before the big event.

    Andy Cohen

    Courtesy of Bravo.

He was inspired to throw his own version of a legends ball by the original legend, Oprah Winfrey. She threw Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball in 2006 to celebrate 25 Black women in the entertainment industry, including Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, and Aretha Franklin. “Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball is the most underreported, undervalued event in pop-culture history, in my mind,” Cohen said. “My hope is that this night will have the meaning that Oprah’s Legends Ball had for me as a connoisseur of pop culture. I hope that Bravo fans feel the same way about this very special night, where we’re going to be gathering basically everybody on one stage.”

Before you can get everybody onstage, you have to get them backstage. There, Vanity Fair was granted exclusive access prior to Andy’s Legends Ball to attend BravoCon’s 2022 Client Happy Hour at the Javits Center where Housewives past and present such as Cynthia Bailey, Crystal Kung Minkoff, and Kathy Hilton hobnobbed before the main event. Cohen intentionally left the criteria for what makes a “legend” vague for the event. “We are being really inclusive,” he said. “If you made a contribution to Bravo’s pop-culture history or pop-culture tapestry, then we want to showcase you in one way or another,” Cohen told me. “So I think our definition is maybe a little broader than some. You do have to kind of cut it off at some point, but I think that we want to represent the entire tapestry of the situation.”

So, what makes a legendary Bravo personality? Well, it all depends on who you ask. According to Kyle Richards, “a legendary housewife is someone who’s real and can put their life out there,” as she said after being pulled away from a hushed but intense one-on-one with Dorit Kemsley. “Speak their mind, but not be the biggest asshole.” Does Richards consider herself a legend? “I would like to think so if I’ve been here 12 years,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG said.

Richard’s RHOBH castmate Garcelle Beauvais agreed that becoming a Bravo legend is all about authenticity, saying it’s about “staying true to who you are no matter what.”
