  • Classic Fighting Game the Last Blade 2 ACA NeoGeo From SNK and Hamster Is Out Now on iOS and Android – TouchArcade

Classic Fighting Game the Last Blade 2 ACA NeoGeo From SNK and Hamster Is Out Now on iOS and Android – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Following KOF 2001 ACA NeoGeo, SNK and Hamster have released The Last Blade 2 ACA NeoGeo ($3.99) on iOS and Android as this week’s new ACA NeoGeo series release. The Last Blade 2 originally released back in 1998. The classic fighter featured four gods aiming to seal Hell’s Gate. It brought in new gameplay systems, and fighters can use desperation and super desperation moves that can also be chained into enemy moves you’ve cancelled. As of this writing, the iOS 16 loading issue that affects some games has not been addressed, but waiting for the leaderboards check to fail solves the issue for me. It takes about 20 seconds on iOS 16, and it works fine on iOS 15. Hopefully Hamster and SNK can address the current issues that affect some players as reported on our forum thread in updates soon. Check out a screenshot from the Android version of The Last Blade 2 ACA NeoGeo below.

The Last Blade 2 aca neogeo

You can buy The Last Blade 2 ACA NeoGeo on the App Store for iOS here and Google Play for Android here. As with prior releases on mobile, this costs half of what it does on consoles at $3.99. If you’ve not heard of the series or seen it in action on mobile yet, Shaun has reviewed most of the releases so far in the ACA NeoGeo series on iOS. Check out his reviews for Samurai Shodown IV here, Alpha Mission II here, Metal Slug 5 here, Shock Troopers here, NAM-1975 here, ZED BLADE here, PUZZLED here, The King of Fighters 2002 here, Big Tournament Golf here, King of the Monsters here, Last Resort here, Aero Fighters 2 here, Burning Fight here, Robo Army here, Mutation Nation here, Twinkle Star Sprites here, and Aero Fighters 3 here. • Corsair Apologizes After Rep Calls YouTuber’s Review Comments ‘Bullshit’

Corsair Apologizes After Rep Calls YouTuber’s Review Comments ‘Bullshit’

    [ad_1]

    Gamer's Nexus

    Screenshot: YouTube

Corsair has publicly apologised after a “member of staff” was found last week to have called sections of reviews of the latest RTX 4090 graphics card—made by both Gamers Nexus and Guru3D—”total bullshit”.

The drama arose last week when the hugely-popular hardware channel Gamers Nexus posted a review (and some benchmarks) of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition. In that video, they say plugging in only three of the card’s four cables (in case your PSU for whatever reason only had room for three 8-pin connections) would lock you to 100% performance, and that only by plugging in all four would you be allowed to overclock the card. Guru3D’s review says much the same thing.

Not long after, Discord comments left by a Corsair staffer went viral. They called both Gamers Nexus and Guru3D’s claims “total bullshit” and “misinformation”, while also saying both users and “the press” were both “confused” about the card’s power and overclocking claims. The full comments, as shared by Gamers Nexus, read:

QUESTION: Has anyone else seen the misinformation about the sense pins and the magical 600W unlock from anyone other than GamersNexus and Guru3D or is it just those two sites? I need to throw Nvidia a couple links showing them how confused user… and the press… are about their smart sense pins.

Total bullshit and they don’t even realize it. Yes. The adapter has two sense wires. Yes. The card works with only one sense wire attached. It’s because it’s a 450W card. It’s not because it has the ability to be ‘unlocked’ requiring the second sense wire.

The card simply doesn’t know. It’s not intelligent in that way. It only looks for one sense pin.

In a follow-up video, Gamers Nexus addresses those “bullshit” claims:

EVGA Left At the Right Time: NVIDIA RTX 4090 Founders Deep-Dive (Schlieren, 12-Pin, & Pressure)

While the staffer’s comments weren’t exactly professional, a company rep talking shit in private about members of the media is, as we’d all wager, nothing new. What got Corsair to publicly have to walk this one back, however, was the fact that…Gamers Nexus and Guru3D were right. To a point—their claims only apply to Nvidia’s own 4090 cables, not those made by third parties like ASUS or Corsair, which may explain the confusion here—but technically correct is still correct.

Prompting Corsair to issue an official apology on the company’s social media, which goes so far as to call the staffer’s comments an “outburst”:

It has come to our attention that a member of Corsair staff recently made inflammatory and incorrect comments regarding Gamers Nexus and Guru3D’s understanding of the Nvidia RTX 4090 power connector.

These comments do not represent Corsair as a company, and we regret both the form and content of the individual’s outburst.

We’ve worked with both Gamers Nexus and Guru3D for many years and hold both in high regard in terms of their professional conduct and technical abilities.

We apologize unreservedly for the improper conduct of our employee and will be taking steps internally to remind our team of the high standards we have for them when interacting with the media and end-users.

For their part, Gamers Nexus have accepted the apology, and are ready to “move forward”:

While Guru3D’s EIC Hilbert Hagedoorn says “Guys, it’s the web; everybody has opinions. He was wrong, apologizes for that, and for me, that’s the end of this story.”

It’s very funny to me that these companies keep taking shots at Gamers Nexus when their videos keep turning out to be entirely accurate! If you’re more technically-minded and would like a more detailed explanation for what exactly led to all this—it really is a small detail in the grander scheme of things—the best run-down I’ve found is here.

  • Tux Paint 0.9.27 Released for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux

Tux Paint 0.9.27 Released for Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    Nov 28, 2021

The Tux Paint development team is proud to announce version 0.9.27 of Tux Paint, which adds many new features to the popular children’s drawing program.

Six new Magic tools have been added to Tux Paint. “Panels” shrinks and duplicates the drawing into a 2-by-2 grid, which is useful for making four-panel comics. “Opposite” produces complementary colors. “Lightning” interactively draws a lightning bolt. “Reflection” creates a lake-like reflection on the drawing. “Stretch” stretches and squashes the picture like a fun-house mirror. Lastly, “Smooth Rainbow” provides a more gradual variation of Tux Paint’s classic “Rainbow” tool.

A number of existing Magic tools have been updated, as well. Improvements were made to “Halftone,” which simulates photographs on newsprint; “Cartoon,” which makes an image look like a cartoon drawing; and “TV,” which simulates a television screen. Additionally, “Cartoon” and “Halftone,” along with “Blocks,” “Chalk,” and “Emboss,” now offer the ability to alter the entire image at once. Finally, Magic tools are now grouped into collections of similar effects — painting, distorts, color filters, picture warps, pattern painting, artistic, and picture decorations — making it easier to find the tool you need.

Tux Paint’s Paint and Line tools now support brushes that rotate based on the angle of the stroke. This new rotation feature, as well as the older directional and animated brush features, are now visually indicated by the brush shape selector. Additionally, the Fill tool now offers a freehand painting mode for interactively coloring within a confined area.

Tux Paint Config., the separate program that ships with Tux Paint to provide a user-friendly method of altering the program’s settings, has been updated to better support larger, high-resolution displays. Also, this version introduces support for the Recycle Bin on Windows — images deleted from Tux Paint’s “Open” dialog will now be placed in the Recycle Bin rather than deleted immediately.

The Tux Paint website now hosts a new gallery showcasing fantastic artwork created by Tux Paint artists of all ages. The gallery features over 200 drawings by artists from all around the world.

Tux Paint is available for download, free of charge, from the project’s website: http://www.tuxpaint.org. Version 0.9.27 is currently available for Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, Android, Red Hat Linux, various other Linux distributions (via Flatpak), and as source code. Tux Paint is open source software and does not contain in-app advertising.

This Device Kills 99.9% of Germs on Phones in 5 Minutes

    [ad_1]

An innovation team from South Korean company SK Networks has announced the launch of ‘Phone Toaster’, a phone sanitizer that kills 99.9% of harmful bacteria and viruses on phones in five minutes.

While the benefits of handwashing are well-known, few people sanitize their phones. Given that mobile phones typically harbor 10 times more germs than the average toilet seat, that is a major health concern.

Phone Toaster uses proven UV-C light technology to effectively and quickly kill bacteria and viruses. Its unique UV-C light configuration covers over 99.9% of the phone’s surface with ultraviolet light. Its closed-lid sanitization chamber can accommodate any phone up to 80.8mm x 172.3mm x 11.9mm, large enough for an iPhone 11 Pro Max or Galaxy S20 Ultra.

    An array of useful features

Phone Toaster’s sanitization chamber also features a Qi-compatible 15W fast wireless charger — automatically sanitize and charge at the same time. Its external 18W fast USB-A charger enables charging for a second USB-enabled device, such as a second phone. It also includes a built-in 8W Bluetooth speaker — the first phone sanitizer on the market to do so — and an analog alarm clock with a mood light.

    A modern interior aesthetic

Phone Toaster’s clean design and simple interface make it the perfect addition to nightstands, kitchen counters or offices.

Phone hygiene — now second nature

“We wanted to ensure that phone sanitization becomes a daily habit with no fuss,” said Bong Ju Lee, a spokesman for Phone Toaster. “Whenever you need a charge, use Phone Toaster to automatically sanitize your phone at the same time.”

    A world-first

Several phone sanitizers have launched in recent months, but Phone Toaster is the first in the world to integrate five useful features into a single device.

    A customer-centric approach

“Before settling on Phone Toaster’s design and feature lineup, we conducted extensive research to understand customer pain points and preferences. We also crowdsourced elements of its design, to ensure an appropriate aesthetic,” Lee said.

    Order Phone Toaster today

Phone Toaster will retail for around USD $130, and very limited pre-orders are available now for as little as $74 on the popular crowdfunding site Kickstarter.

Tittle for Parents provides a solution for screen time, device usage, location management, web tracking and more.

    Press Release

    updated: Jun 5, 2018

Parents now have a new and improved mobile device resource available to them. Tittle for Parents is a smart parenting solution that allows parents to both protect their children on mobile devices and teach about safe and appropriate use. Younger children have access to cell phones now more than ever before. Parents enjoy the accessibility of being able to connect with their children more readily, but they also have concerns about safety, the content children are accessing, and excessive screen time. Tittle for Parents addresses all these concerns.

Developed with parents in mind, Tittle for Parents aims to help them seek a balance with mobile device control, protection and discipline while also offering new features like tasks and web tracking. Instead of banning usage completely, Tittle strives to provide parents with a tool they can use to encourage a safe and responsible user experience for their kids.

Tittle for Parents comes with a multitude of features for parents’ different needs. By allowing parents to block or enable the Internet and apps like games and social media, parents can limit or change a child’s access in his/her mobile device more effectively. Parents can also establish house rules like less screen time and more device-free hours by setting up multiple schedules in the app to limit usage during school, meal times, family time, and bedtime.

The location and geofencing features in the app also enable parents to track and be updated on the children’s location. In addition, Tittle for Parents now has a new web tracking feature that gives parents the access to review their child’s website history when their child surfs the net with Tittle’s custom browser, providing a safeguard from inappropriate content by easily blocking URLs.

Adding on to the myriad of features is the new task feature, which parents can use to create simple tasks for their children, such as specific chores so children gain a sense of responsibility. Parents are encouraged to set goals and rewards to motivate their children. A communication feature enables parents and kids to send each other messages for each task.

The Tittle for Parents app team is dedicated to making the app as user-friendly as possible so set up is easy for all. Parents can pair their device with their child’s right in the app, all without having to log into another browser or app. Navigation within the app is a breeze for even non-tech savvy parents.

The latest update is now available in both Google Play Store and App Store. Download now to enjoy the full features for 14 days. Visit tittleforparents.com for more information.

  • App Gives $500 Monthly to Encourage People to Build Their Own Support Community

App Gives $500 Monthly to Encourage People to Build Their Own Support Community

    [ad_1]

    Press Release

    updated: Feb 1, 2017

Mike Bardi, Co-founder of a mental health app, Project Toe, announced today a new initiative designed to grant $500 every month towards helping people build their own support group within the app.

This represents the next phase of the Project Toe app, which is designed to help people dealing with life struggles such as depression, thoughts of suicide, self-harming behavior, addiction, and a host of other life-challenging conditions. The app—which is free— works with either iTunes or Android and allows individuals to join or create a support group. The premise behind the new program is that Project Toe will give $500 to the support group that reaches the most people in their community. “We call it social-therapy,” says Mike Bardi. “It is the idea that we can leverage both technology and our own personal struggles to help those currently going through something similar today.”

“The story began with two friends walking on the beach.”

    Mike Bardi, Co-founder

Introduced in 2015, the Project Toe app currently has over 6,000 active users and 3,000 support groups worldwide. Participants can use the app in a variety of ways. They can join a support group that reflects their particular issue, create a new support group, share their life story by creating a post, or chat one-on-one. Participants can also agree to engage with an online therapist if they so desire for a low fee. There is also a “grateful wall,” which allows participants to express their positive thoughts towards other members of the community.

Mike Bardi is also the author of “The Word Toe: How One Word is Redefining Mental Health” .

According to Bardi, “the story began with two friends walking on the beach. One of the friends wanted to have a non-confrontational way to let the other know she was feeling troubled without having to directly ask him for help.” Bardi’s vision is to improve mental health around the world by empowering people to help one another cope with life challenges such as anxiety, stress, loneliness, or any challenge that we all face throughout our lives.
