‘Princess Connect Re:Dive’ Is Shutting Down Next Month Outside Japan on iOS and Android – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Crunchyroll Games brought Princess Connect Re:Dive (Free) to iOS and Android in the West following its launch back in 2018 in Japan. Today, Princess Connect Re:Dive has been confirmed to shut down on April 30, 2023 on iOS and Android. Note that this affects the version by Crunchyroll Games and not the Japanese release that is still continuing. Since launch, Princess Connect Re:Dive included PvP and PvE modes, but had a story focus. No reason was given for the shut down, but the announcement just mentions the date and that they are grateful to fans of Princess Connect Re:Dive. Check out the full announcement below:

If you’d like to check Princess Connect Re:Dive out before it shuts down in the West on April 30, you can grab it on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. Princess Connect Re:Dive is free to play. It is disappointing to see this happen again with another free to play game even though I didn’t play this much after the months following its launch since I know a few people who have been playing often. Have you played Princess Connect Re:Dive through the Japanese or global release so far?

Last week, Codebrew Games released a new trailer for the sequel to the excellent city builder Pocket City. The trailer and website update revealed that Pocket City 2 () was set for a mid 2023 release date. Today, Codebrew Games revealed that it will actually be out on April 8th, which is a lot sooner than I expected, but a nice surprise. Pocket City 2 will deliver a 3D city building experience where you can explore as you build with your own avatar. It will also include a day night cycle, mini-games, and more. Pocket City 2 has been in development for a while now and I’m glad that it still looks like it retains the gorgeous style from the first game despite going 3D. Check out a screenshot from Pocket City 2 below:

  • The Isle Dragon Roars, The Forsaken Maiden, and The Beasts of Burden Are Out Now on iOS and Android – TouchArcade

The Isle Dragon Roars, The Forsaken Maiden, and The Beasts of Burden Are Out Now on iOS and Android – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Back in late 2021, Square Enix released a new card-based RPG Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC featuring some of the staff behind the NieR and Drakengard games. This included Yoko Taro, Yosuke Saito, Keiichi Okabe, and more. Since then, Square Enix released two more entries with the newest one having released in September 2022 in the form of Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden. When I played them on Nintendo Switch, I liked all three, and even got the first one on Steam. Today, Square Enix has surprise released (via Gematsu) the Voice of Cards Trilogy on iOS and Android as premium games. The games are available individually alongside a demo. On PS4, Switch, and Steam, Square Enix has also released two new bundles offering all three games with or without the optional DLC. If you’ve not played any game in the series yet, watch the trailer below:

The demo offers Chapter 0 of Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars for free on iOS and Android. If you’d like to grab them, I’ve linked them below for iOS and Android:

    • Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars Chapter 0 DemoiOS, Android
    • Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon RoarsiOS, Android
    • Voice of Cards: The Forsaken MaideniOS, Android
    • Voice of Cards: The Beasts of BurdeniOS, Android

It is worth noting that the games are priced at $29.99 each on console and PC with optional DLC also available. On mobile, the games are $11.99 each with about $5 of optional DLC through in app purchases. There is no bundle on iOS offering a discount for the games and DLC as of this writing. On PC and console, the bundle will be priced at $49.99 for the games and $64.99 for the games and all DLC. The bundles should go live on Steam here and here.

I’m going to be reviewing all three games in the trilogy in the near future. When I played them on Nintendo Switch, I always felt they would be a perfect fit for mobile with touch support already implemented. Hopefully the mobile versions don’t have the same performance issues the Switch verions had. Have you played the Voice of Cards games before or will you be trying them out through the mobile releases today?

Vampire Survivors (Free) on mobile was just updated a few hours ago with support for cloud saves (Game Center for iOS and Google Play Games for Android), push notification support, updated options menu, a way to delete save data (tapping the account icon 7 times), and many fixes today. We are still waiting for the ‘Legacy of the Moonspell’ DLC on mobile, but today’s update is a highlight with cloud saves finally being added. Hopefully we get some news about the DLC soon. Check out the trailer for the previous major update below:

If you haven’t played Vampire Survivors yet, read my Steam Deck review of it here, DLC review here, and iOS review here. We featured it as our Game of the Week as well when it launched. You can get Vampire Survivors on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. It is free without any in app purchases. It only has optional ads you can view to earn more gold when you get a game over. Check out our forum thread here for more discussion and impressions around the port. What do you think of it if you’ve downloaded it already and have been playing it?

  • Minecraft Update 1.20 Is Officially the Trails and Tales Update, Coming Later This Year – TouchArcade

Minecraft Update 1.20 Is Officially the Trails and Tales Update, Coming Later This Year – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

During the Minecraft Monthly news show, Mojang and Microsoft revealed the official name and more details for the Minecraft ($6.99) 1.20 update. Minecraft 1.20 is now called the Trails and Tales update. If you’ve not kept up with the main game recently, we finally had the big ‘Wild update’ arrive alongside keyboard and mouse support on iOS before. The Minecraft Trails and Tales update arrives later this year with a focus on self-expression, creativity, and intrinsic motivation. The team wants this update to allow players to tell more Minecraft stories and share them. Watch the full Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales update reveal in the Minecraft Monthly news show below:

If you’ve not played Minecraft for a while, now is a great time to jump in. I’m curious to see how the main Minecraft game evolves this year leading up to the Trails and Tales update. Hopefully this year also sees mobile get Minecraft Dungeons with cross play, but I still will not hold my breath for it. Minecraft keeps improving, and it is good to see a lot planned for 2023 already. We will likely get the release date soon if it is arriving before June, or Microsoft will likely announce it during its potential June showcase. Have you played Minecraft recently on mobile on any other platform and what do you think of the upcoming PC and console game Minecraft Legends?
