Feral Interactive have just released the first paid DLC for Tropico on mobile today alongside an update for the game. If you’ve not played Tropico($11.99) on mobile yet, read my review of the initial iPad version. Since launch, it has been updated to be a universal app and it also arrived on Android. A full expansion was then added to both iOS and Android for free in the form of the Absolute Power expansion followed by a free mission pack titled ‘Postcards from Tropico‘. Today’s new paid DLC pack for Tropico brings in fix original new missions. These missions include manipulating markets, ancient curses, and more. Watch a trailer for the new Tropico The Tropican Dream DLC below:

Following pre-installation going up on Monday, the major Honkai Star Rail(Free) version 1.3 update “Celestial Eyes Above Mortal Ruins” has gone live worldwide on mobile and PC platforms. This update brings in a new area, new characters (Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Fuxuan, and Lynx), and quality of life features to the game. Details on some of the notable new features are here. Details for compensation and maintenance are here on the official website. Watch the newest trailer for Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae in Honkai Star Rail 1.3 below:
Check out a screenshot from the update below:
While I don’t usually comment on datamining or leaks, there seems to be a rerun coming very soon which is likely going to be when the PS5 version releases. I’m looking forward to playing Honkai Star Rail on PS5 as well assuming it is a good conversion like Genshin Impact. If you’ve not gotten the game yet, you can download Honkai Star Rail on the App Store for iOS here, on Google Play for Android here, and here on the Epic Games Store in addition to its regular PC version. I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit on iPad with controller support. Have you been playing Honkai Star Rail regularly since it launched on mobile and PC?
Following its soft launch last week, SNK has released Samurai Shodown(Free) its 2019-released console and PC fighter on iOS and Android worldwide through Netflix Games. I reinstalled Samurai Shodown on every platform I own it on last week to get back into the groove before today’s Netflix launch. I will be reviewing this port, but I love most things about it barring the online and Switch port. I’m hoping the iOS version on modern iOS devices will not be as annoying to play as the Switch version. I assume this version on Netflix will include the DLC or bring them in slowly over time. Watch the Samurai Shodown Netflix trailer below:
Even if it launches as just the base game, Samurai Shodown is a superb addition to Netflix’s gaming catalogue assuming the port is good. If you have an active Netflix subscription, you can grab Samurai Shodown on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. You can check it out on Steam here or Nintendo Switch as well as Xbox Series X or PS4 (PS5 via backward compatibility). It is priced at $49.99 on Switch right now for the base game. Have you played Samurai Shodown before on PC or console and will you be trying it on Netflix today?
Bethesda Game Studios is set to launch its massive new IP and RPG later this week with Starfield on Xbox Series X and PC platforms. I can say that I am reviewing it and you should expect our coverage to go up when the embargo lifts. For Starfield, like recent Fallout games, Bethesda had a big collector’s edition available. The StarfieldConstellation Edition includes the game, cosmetic DLC, the first story expansion, the digital soundtrack, and more digital content, but it also includes a gorgeous case and Starfield Chronomark Watch. Bethesda has just launched the Starfield Watch(Free) companion app on the App Store and Google Play worldwide. This app lets you setup your watch via Bluetooth, toggle settings like notifications and music control, and also various options like date and brightness.
The Starfield Constellation Edition was priced at about $300 depending on your region. This week, Starfield early access for those who own the Constellation Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Premium Edition goes live. It releases for Xbox Game Pass or Standard Edition owners next week. If you do want to play Starfield on Xbox Game Pass, buying the Premium Upgrade for $34.99 gets you upgraded to the Premium Edition with 5 day early access assuming you get it pre-release. Download the Starfield Watch companion app here on the App Store for iOS and here on Google Play for Android. What do you think of Starfield from the recent showcases and are you planning on playing it this week or next?
Dotemu has been regularly releasing more information and gameplay ahead of the long-awaited TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge(Free) paid DLC pack through trailers, character reveals, new modes, and more. While this DLC has been announced for PC and consoles, nothing has been revealed for mobile yet. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge from Dotemu and Tribute Games hit mobile through from Playdigious via Netflix Games following its PC and console launch. The TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Dimension Shellshock DLC adds two new playable characters in the form of Karai and Usagi. Today, Dotemu released an extended gameplay video showcasing both of them ahead of the DLC’s launch. This DLC also adds a Survival Mode. Watch the new gameplay video below:
If you’ve not gotten TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge yet, read my review of the iOS version here and Shaun’s review of the original Switch version here. You can wishlist the TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Dimension Shellshock DLC on Steam here. Hopefully this DLC does come to mobile sooner than later. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge was our Game of the Week when it launched. Read my interview with Playdigious covering TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, working with Netflix, and more here. I also recently interviewed Tee Lopes about the game and a lot more relating to game music. Read that here. If you’d like to grab TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge on mobile, you can get TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here through Netflix Games. Have you played TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge yet and will you be grabbing the DLC on PC or console next week?
Feral Interactive just announced new paid DLC coming to Tropico on mobile next week. If you’ve not played Tropico($11.99) on mobile yet, Feral Interactive’s conversion has superb controls and optimization that made it my favorite way to play the game. Read my review of the initial iPad version. Feral Interactive has since updated Tropico to be a universal app and launch it on Android. A full expansion was then added to both iOS and Android for free in the form of the Absolute Power expansion followed by a free mission pack titled ‘Postcards from Tropico‘. Today, Feral Interactive announced ‘The Tropican Dream’ paid DLC coming to the mobile version of Tropico next week. Watch a trailer for the DLC below:
The Tropican Dream DLC is priced at $2.49 and it adds six brand new original missions to the game bringing manipulating markets, navigating ancient curses, facing the wrath of God, and more to the game. I’m glad to see Feral Interactive still support Tropico on mobile like this. If you haven’t gotten it yet, Tropico is available as a premium game on Google Play and the App Store. The free Tropico: The People’s Demo is available here for Android. You can check out our forum thread for it here for more discussion around the port. Have you gotten it already on mobile and what do you think of today’s DLC announcement?
Back in May last year, I wrote about the games I’d like to see get mobile ports. Witch Beam’s narrative puzzler Unpacking() was one of them. The cozy narrative puzzle game that has you decorating, progressing the narrative, and more is rolling out now on iOS as a premium release. The Android version should go live later today. As with prior Humble Games mobile releases, Unpacking is a lot cheaper to buy on mobile compared to consoles and PC. I’ll have a lot to say about the port in my review. If you’ve not played it yet on any platform, watch the Unpacking original trailer below showcasing the gameplay and excellent music:
I’ve played Unpacking on Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox so far, but only really enjoyed it on Switch and Steam Deck. It is the perfect portable game. You can read my glowing review of the Switch version here. Check out our new forum thread for it here. It isn’t up on Android yet, and I will update this story when it does go up on Google Play. Until then, Unpacking is rolling out now on the App Store for iOS here. It is priced at $9.99 compared to the $19.99 on other platforms. Have you played Unpacking on any other platform before or will you be buying it on mobile today?
Blizzard just announced that the newest expansion for Hearthstone(Free) will be the game’s first direct-to-wild expansion. Hearthstone Caverns of Time launches on August 31st or September 1st depending on your timezone bringing in 147 cards (34 new ones, 113 buffed cards, and new Signatures). Hearthstone Caverns of Time has been designed with the Wild and the new Twist format in mind. Caverns of Time cards can be unlocked from the shop and events or quests. A friend of mine got me to redownload Hearthstone to see how it runs on macOS and I had fun playing my old deck of legendaries. I doubt I will be coming back to playing regularly, but I’m interested to see how this direct-to-wild expansion and the Twist format for for the game. Check out the newest Battlrgrounds season trailer below:
Alongside the launch of Hearthstone Caverns of Time, a new set of decks will be included to be Battle-ready. These can be bought with gold or real money. These aim to allow you to get new decks at a lower Runestones or money cost. There are also Lite Battle-Ready decks planned that cost less. We will likely learn more of the upcoming Hearthstone Twist mode and the expansion in the coming days with the reveal of the major patch notes. Read more about the expansion here. If you haven’t grabbed Hearthstone yet, check it out here on the App Store. Do you play Hearthstone often?
Wrestling adventure RPG WrestleQuest(Free) from Mega Cat Studios and Skybound Games has finally released worldwide on PC, consoles, and mobile via Netflix Games following a last-minute delay earlier this month. WrestleQuest has been interesting to play after enjoying both WWE 2K23 and AEW Fight Forever. I’ve been playing WrestleQuest on Steam Deck and Switch, but was waiting for the Netflix Games release on mobile for my full review. From what I’ve played, I’m glad it isn’t a disappointment like Sports Story at least. I’ll save my full thoughts for the review in the near future. Watch the WrestleQuest launch trailer below:
WrestleQuest is out now worldwide for iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. If you’d like to play it, you can get WrestleQuest on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here with an active Netflix subscription. Check it out on Steam here and Nintendo Switch here. It also had a free demo on Steam here. WrestleQuest will be a $29.99 release on other platforms, so having it in Netflix is great. What do you think of WrestleQuest from its trailers or if you played the demo and will you be grabbing it on Netflix today?
Last week, the long-awaited Vampire Survivors(Free)co-op mode update went live on iOS, Android, PC with new engine, and also saw the game arrive on Nintendo Switch. Read my co-op impressions of the Steam version here and my Nintendo Switch review here. I missed this in the launch blog post, but poncle officially confirmed that cross-save is being worked on, and is being tested on mobile, PC, and consoles with cloud save slots being added. This is the main thing missing in the game for those who play on multiple platforms, and I’m glad it is coming. Vampire Survivors. Watch the Vampire Survivors local co-op launch trailer below:
The cross-save portion says it will take an “adequate amount of time in the oven to be released in a safe, fully working state.” I don’t mind waiting as long as it takes. This is amazing news. Hopefully there is more news around the game’s adventures mode as well soon. If you haven’t played Vampire Survivors yet, read my Steam Deck review of Vampire Survivorshere, Legacy of the Moonspell DLC review here, iOS review here, and Tides of the Foscari DLC review here. We featured it as our Game of the Week as well when it launched. You can get Vampire Survivors on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. Check out our forum thread here for more discussion and impressions around the game. Have you been playing it recently and will you be trying co-op today?
We recently learned of a few notable new features coming to Honkai Star Rail(Free) with the version 1.3 update on iOS, Android, and PC. Today, HoYoverse had a livestream for this update revealing the title, new characters, an update to the Simulated Universe, release date, and more. Honkai Star Rail 1.3 is titled “Celestial Eyes Above Mortal Ruins” and it releases on August 30th worldwide for all platforms. HoYoverse’s Honkai Star Rail PS5 release date is still set for Q4 2023. Honkai Star Rail brings in a new area, new characters, and more. The characters are Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, Fuxuan, and Lynx. Watch the newest trailer for Honkai Star Rail 1.3 below:
Check out a screenshot from the update below:
Ahead of the launch date, you can download Honkai Star Rail on the App Store for iOS here, on Google Play for Android here, and here on the Epic Games Store in addition to its regular PC version. I’ve been playing it more on iPad lately, and am looking forward to syncing to PS5 when that version releases later this year. Have you been playing Honkai Star Rail regularly since it launched on mobile and PC and what do you think of today’s trailer?
At the Capcom showcase, Capcom previously revealed an offline version of Mega Man X Dive appropriately titled Mega Man X DiVE Offline coming this year on mobile and Steam. Today, Capcom revealed the Mega Man X DiVE Offline release date and price with pre-orders live on Steam. Mega Man X DiVE Offline includes Zero, Proto Man, Bass, Sigma, and Mega Man.Exe and over 900 stages, fan-favorite bosses, and more. Hopefully it does well so more publishers can do something like this before killing off a mobile game. It is worth noting that none of the multiplayer or collaborations will be included in Mega Man X DiVE Offline. Watch the Mega Man X DiVE Offline trailer below:
Mega Man X DiVE released in August 2021 internationally, and Mega Man X DiVE Offline will be arriving worldwide on September 1st priced at $29.99. Capcom previously confirmed that you cannot move data from Mega Man X DiVE to Mega Man X DiVE Offline on the official website that has more information. Check out the official website for Mega Man X DiVE Offlinehere. You can pre-order Mega Man X DiVE Offline on Steam here for $29.99. The Japanese announcement mentions the same price point for mobile and Steam, so I assume the mobile version will be $29.99 as well. As of this writing, App Store pre-orders and Google Play pre-registrations aren’t live, but the old iOS version is here. Did you play Mega Man X DiVE or will you be jumping in when Mega Man X DiVE Offline arrives later this year on iOS, Android, and Steam?
HoYoverse just released the major Genshin Impact(Free) 4.0 Fontaine update “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason” on iOS, Android, PS5, PS4, and PC platforms following pre-installation going live earlier this week. If you did pre-install, the client update shouldn’t be too big depending on your platform. Genshin Impact 4.0 update brings in the long-awaited Fontaine region featuring underwater diving, the main story continuing, three new playable characters (Lyney, Lynette and Freminet), and a lot more to the game across its new content rollout. Alongside the update, HoYoverse also has compensation for maintenance that will grant 600 Primogems to adventure rank 5 and higher (by August 16) players. This compensation needs to be claimed before 4.0 ends. Full patch notes for this update are here if you’d like more details on what’s been added and changed. Watch the new Genshin Impact 4.0 character trailers below:
If you are on console, this update is a full redownload more or less like prior updates. On iPad where I play, it was not much over the pre-load. If you’ve not gotten it yet, you can download Genshin Impact for free on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. The PC version is available on the official website here and the Epic Games Store. If you play on iOS, with iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 and later, you can use PS5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers to play Genshin Impact. We featured Genshin Impact as our Game of the Week when it released and awarded it our 2020 Game of the Year. I also featured it as one of the best iOS games to play with a controller. What do you think of Genshin Impact 4.0 so far if you’ve been playing today?
Following the launch of the big 1.2 update, HoYoverse just announced a few notable features coming to Honkai Star Rail(Free) version 1.3 update on iOS, Android, and PC. If you’ve not played the game in a while, Kafka just joined the game as a playable character last week in phase two of the update. Honkai Star Rail 1.3 will increase the Trailblaze Power camp to 240. There will also be a Reserved Trailblaze Power option that sees a percentage of surplus Trailblaze Power converted into Reserved Trailblaze Power. Barring this huge improvement, chat stickers and an improvement to birthday mail will be added in the upcoming update. Watch the newest trailer for Honkai Star Rail below:
You can read more of what’s planned for 1.3 in this official “Voice of the Galaxy|Developer Radio vol.2″ blog post. As of now, this update is expected to hit on August 30th, but it hasn’t officially been announced. Ahead of the Honkai Star Rail 1.3 release date and official announcement stream, you can play the recent update on mobile and PC. Check out Honkai Star Rail on the App Store for iOS here, on Google Play for Android here, and here on the Epic Games Store in addition to its regular PC version. It is coming to PS5 in the future as well. Have you been playing Honkai Star Rail regularly since it launched on mobile and PC and did you try rolling for Kafka last week?
Following the Vampire Survivors(Free)co-op mode and Nintendo Switch release date announcement from the recent Nintendo Direct, I’ve had a chance to play the co-op mode on Steam Deck for preview. Next week, poncle will update all versions of the game with 4 player local co-op coming through a free update. This update is also when the Steam version will move to the new engine (like mobile and console) making it dramatically better. I was already on that engine thanks to a beta branch, but everyone will benefit from the improvements next week with the co-op update. While this feature focuses on the Steam Deck version, I’ll also be covering other versions next week.
I took a break from Vampire Survivors for a bit because I spent far too much time on it across different platforms over the last year and leading into the mobile version. I’ve been jumping back for the DLC launches, but was basically in maintenance mode with the game if you will until the Switch port was announced. I was curious to see how the Switch version would look and run, but more interested in how local co-op would feel. Having spent a few days with it on Steam Deck, I’m very pleased with the implementation including how level-ups happen, turns for specific things, and with how much more chaotic things get. There are also a few interactions that will make Vampire Survivors feel a bit like Overcooked with rage-inducing situations, but everything has been fun so far.
The downside right now is that Remote Play Together isn’t fully implemented in the preview build. I hope this is fixed for the final release because I can’t use alternatives on Steam Deck to invite friends to play with me. Vampire Survivors co-op is local only, so I will be relying on Steam Remote Play Together on Steam Deck to play with friends. Thanks to tools like Parsec or Steam’s Remote Play Together, co-op in Vampire Survivors will shine the most on PC for me. I’m also interested to see how it works on other platforms when the update goes live next week alongside the Nintendo Switch release date.
If you’re curious about how co-op will work, read the official FAQ here. I have more Vampire Survivors coverage next week. Until then, read my Steam Deck review of Vampire Survivorshere, Legacy of the Moonspell DLC review here, iOS review here, and Tides of the Foscari DLC review here. We featured it as our Game of the Week as well when it launched. You can get Vampire Survivors on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. Check out our forum thread here for more discussion and impressions around the game. Have you been playing it recently and will you be trying co-op or the Switch port next week?
Square Enix just announced that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis() will release on September 7th worldwide for iOS and Android. Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will be a compendium-type mobile game that aims to cover the complete Final Fantasy VII story across spin-offs, mainline games, and other media. Following its early 2021 reveal, Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will launch next month after a closed beta and more. We even had a big showcase for it at Summer Game Fest this June with an Android beta. Pre-orders and pre-registrations for Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis are also still available ahead of its launch next month. Watch the Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis trailer below:
If you’d like to play it next month, you can pre-order Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. Check out the official website for Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. Square Enix will likely have some cross promotion between Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and the upcoming PS5 game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth which releases early 2024. I’m interested to see how free to play this release ends up being, and how it handles the source material across many games and other media. Will you be trying Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis when it launches on September 7th for iOS and Android?
Niantic and Capcom just soft launched their previously announced real world hunting action RPG Monster Hunter Now() for iOS and Android in a few countries worldwide. If you missed it, Monster Hunter Now releases worldwide on September 14th with pre-orders and pre-registrations available. It recently crossed 1 million pre-registrations as well. The other pre-registration reward tiers are on the official website and in the Tweet from the game’s account. If you’re in Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, or Sweden, you can play the soft-launched version of Monster Hunter Now now. Watch the Monster Hunter Now trailer below:
Monster Hunter Now is a free to play release and will use Niantic’s AR technology. The worldwide release date is September 14th for iOS and Android. You can pre-order Monster Hunter Now on the App Store for iOS here and pre-register for it on Google Play for Android here. The in app purchases include different sets of gems. Even though I’ve stopped caring about these AR games, I love Monster Hunter and will try Monster Hunter Now next month on iOS. Capcom has been good about cross promotion with its own brands, so I’m interested to see if we get something in Sunbreak on PC and consoles to go alongside this launch. Check out the official website here. What do you think of Monster Hunter Now and will you be playing it next month iOS and Android?
HoYoverse finally detailed the major upcoming Genshin Impact(Free) 4.0 update titled “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason” in a livestream that just aired. Genshin Impact version 4.0 launches this month on iOS, Android, PS5, PS4, and PC platforms. This update focuses on Fontaine, the nation of justice to the game. It features underwater diving in parts, the main story continuing, three new playable characters (Lyney, Lynette and Freminet), and a lot more. Genshin Impact 4.0 launches on August 16th, and pre-installation for mobile and PC platforms will go live a few days prior as usual. The focus of this update is Fontaine which is the fifth major nation of Teyvat. As with most Genshin Impact trailers, today’s 4.0 one has sublime music. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the update has when it comes to music. Watch the Genshin Impact 4.0 update “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason” trailer below:
If you’ve not gotten it yet, you can download Genshin Impact for free on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. The PC version is available on the official website here and the Epic Games Store. If you play on iOS, with iOS 14.5 or iPadOS 14.5 and later, you can use PS5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers to play Genshin Impact. We featured Genshin Impact as our Game of the Week when it released and awarded it our 2020 Game of the Year. I also featured it as one of the best iOS games to play with a controller. What do you think of Genshin Impact 4.0 and have you been playing it lately?
Following Shaun’s list of the best Apple Arcade games in 2023, I’ve done a feature on Netflix Games. Recently, I’ve found myself enjoying more new games on Netflix than Apple Arcade. The games featured here are in no particular order, and all of them require a Netflix subscription to play on iOS and Android. They have no in app purchases or additional payments required. I’m going to be featuring ports, new games, and more here. There are loads of great games, but these are the 10 best ones on Netflix right now. This list is in no particular order, and I’m avoiding any games also available separately, but will include any remasters/remakes.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals on mobile through Netflix is my favorite way to play it. Night School exceeded my expectations from the original game and delivered a more mature story despite the supernatural and thriller elements. In a lot of ways, Oxenfree II feels like a reflection of the studio making it with its scope and polish. This is a game I recommend to everyone with a Netflix subscription, and I hope it gets a physical release on console in the future so I can add it to my collection with the first game.
Despite launching on other platforms before, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon arrived on Netflix with new content included. It has some aspects that don’t work as well as others, but Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is an amazing puzzler bringing in challenging gameplay, tons of polish, and gorgeous visuals to mobile. It is immediately one of the best puzzlers on mobile through its Netflix release.
The original World of Goo is an iPad classic, and I’m glad it saw a remaster to feel and look better on modern devices with World of Goo Remastered this year. I still remember playing it for the first time as I discovered new ways to improve my score in each level working towards the next one. If you’ve never played World of Goo before, World of Goo Remastered is the best version, and the only bad thing I can say about this is that the existing standalone version of the game was delisted when World of Goo Remastered released on mobile through Netflix.
Laya’s Horizon from Snowman was one of the biggest surprise announcements from Netflix for its games catalog. It plays brilliantly while looking amazing, and is easily Snowman’s most ambitious game yet. It is an essential if you have a Netflix subscription and is absolutely worth checking out on iOS and Android.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is a Streets of Rage 4 level release, and if you don’t know what I mean by that, play both games immediately. Jokes aside, I adore TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge and I was super happy to see it come to mobile in a fantastic conversion through Playdigious and Netflix. It is a modern take on a classic Konami style beat ’em up that delivers in spades with its gameplay, visuals, music, and fanservice for TMNT fans.
Kentucky Route Zero was one of the most fascinating games I played. It took so long for all the acts to release, that I ended up not even having my older saves through the years as I switched computers. The adventure blends surrealism, gorgeous visuals, amazing music, and memorable characters to deliver something that you will either love or drop after an act or two. The Netflix release brings the complete experience with all updates and improvements over the launch version. It also happens to have one of my favorite musical moments in any game. If all of that sounds good to you, give it a shot on iOS or Android through Netflix.
Immortality from Her Story developer Sam Barlow is Sam’s best work yet according to most, and while I prefer Her Story, Immortality is a superlative experience for those who enjoy the FMV interactive film genre. The only issue with the mobile version is that you have to download a lot of data in-game. Keep that in mind and you’re good. It is another one of those “Perfect for Netflix” gaming experiences, and I’m glad it did make its way to mobile after its initial launch on console and PC platforms.
Reigns: Three Kingdoms is a game I didn’t know I wanted, but am glad exists. There have been many Reigns games over the years and across different subscription services and platforms, but Reigns: Three Kingdoms does things a bit differently. As someone who got into Romance of the Three Kingdoms through Koei Tecmo’s games of the same name, I’ve been slowly experiencing more of it through various media, and Reigns: Three Kingdoms is another fantastic way to soak in the lore through a story with loads of quests, decisions, and everything I love from a Reigns game.
I’ve been wanting Into the Breach on iPad for years ever since I played FTL from the developer. It seemed like the ship had sailed, but Netflix revealed that Into the Breach is not only coming to iPad, but also iPhone and Android in a new version that would see added content patched into existing versions. Into the Breach on any platform is an essential, but having it on an iPad with such a great port is everything I wanted. This is pure turn-based strategy greatness.
Poinpy from the creator of Downwell is one of the best games on mobile right now regardless of paid games, subscriptions, or free games. Instead of going down like the developer’s prior release, you sling yourself up and this release feels perfect to play in short bursts or long sessions. The gameplay is everything you’d want, and there’s a lot of depth included. Poinpy was one of the first “essential” games in Netflix, and even with so many more games added to the service, it is in our top games feature. Hopefully more people check it out.
And there you have it. I’ve been told I usually pick some weird stuff, but what would life be without weirdness eh? If you’ve enjoyed a game on Netflix that you think I should’ve featured, let me know in the comments so more people will discover great games on the service. If you’d like to see us feature more games in subscription services or anything else, let us know. Thanks for reading.
When I interviewed Feral Interactive earlier this year, I asked about potential new mobile and Switch releases for 2023. I was essentially told “Yes, but no clues” for both mobile and Switch. Fast forward to Friday and Feral Interactive put out a teaser as it usually does, but this time there were two teases on it. We usually see Feral Interactive post a teaser for a port or new game release coming to one platform. This time there is a clue for a Switch game and one for a mobile game. You can view the clues below in Feral Interactive’s radar image. I gave up on trying to decipher Feral Interactive’s teasing a while ago, but feel free to speculate in the comments below.
I have no idea what to expect with either tease, so I’m going to speculate a bit about what I’d like to see Feral Interactive bring to both platforms. If you look at the Steam publisher page for Feral Interactive here and the developer page here for macOS releases, there are a few notable releases that are yet to come to Switch and mobile. I’d love to see Feral Interactive bring one of its amazing Total War games to Switch and also see a modern Creative Assembly release hit mobile. We could also see a newer Tomb Raider game potentially. There are a lot of possibilities, but I know I’ll likely be there regardless of the game. What do you think Feral Interactive is teasing, and what would you like to see the developer bring to mobile and Switch this year?
