Blizzard has begun the global rollout for Warcraft Rumble (Free), previously known as Warcraft Arclight Rumble, ahead of its full launch later today at BlizzCon 2023. You will be able to watch BlizzCon 2023 here. Warcraft Rumble has been described as Clash Royale with a more MOBA vibe featuring the large cast of beloved Warcraft characters stylized as mini figures. If you missed it, I interviewed the Tom and Vik from the team behind Warcraft Rumble about the game, post-launch plans, and a lot more. Read that here. Watch the Warcraft Rumble release date teaser trailer below:

If you didn’t pre-order or pre-register for it, you can get Warcraft Rumble on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. Blizzard also announced that World of Warcraft players on PC will find Warcraft Rumble arcade machines across taverns in the four major Dragonflight zones and more letting players unlock collectible Minis from Warcraft Rumble leading up to BlizzCon 2023. Speaking of BlizzCon 2023, there are two digital bundles with in-game items available as detailed here. I’m curious to see how the game’s launch goes. I’ll likely try it out after BlizzCon later today. What do you think of Warcraft Rumble and will you be playing it today?

The Gorgeous ‘Art of Rally’ Is Coming to iOS and Android as a Premium Release Next Month Through Noodlecake Games – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

A friend of mine who I trust on all things relating to racing games praised Funselektor’s Art of Rally () quite a bit for its console release. Art of Rally is currently available on all consoles and PC platforms, and while I haven’t played it yet, I do know it was quite a bit of a mess of Nintendo Switch. Today, the excellent Noodlecake Games has announced that it is bringing Funselektor’s Art of Rally to mobile as a premium release next month. The gameplay trailer for the mobile version looks great, and it is shaping up to be the best portable version. I know that’s a low bar given how bad the Switch port was, but this premium port might be one of the better mobile conversions if it delivers when it arrives next month. It will be discounted by 40% if you pre-order it before launch. Watch the Art of Rally mobile trailer below:

Art of Rally is currently listed for December 14th release on the App Store. If you’d like to try out the top-down and stylish racing game, you can pre-order Art of Rally on the App Store for iOS here for $4.99. Pre-registrations are currently live on Google Play for Android here for it. Check out the official Art of Rally website here. You can grab it on Steam here as well. I’m very tempted to grab it on Steam and Switch for a nice comparison with the iOS version that I want to review. Either way, I’m looking forward to hopefully a great portable version of Art of Rally next month. Have you played Art of Rally on any platform yet?

‘Disney Speedstorm’ Mobile Cross-Save With PC and Console Will Be Available Today for Soft Launch Players – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Gameloft’s Disney-themed kart racer Disney Speedstorm () hit PC and console a while ago, and recently began pre-registrations for its global launch on mobile. I played the Disney Speedstorm Early Access launch version on both Switch and Steam Deck, and liked a lot of aspects, while hoping some would improve. Read my early access review of the game here. Today, the official Twitter account for Disney Speedstorm confirmed that the mobile soft launch version will support cross-save with the PC and console version. Once you link your accounts, you will need to select which progress and content to keep before progressing. I’m glad cross-save is making it in before the global mobile launch. Watch the trailer for the game below:

If you’ve not played the game on any platform yet, it is a free to play kart racer with Disney and Pixar characters and worlds. If you’d like to try out the soft launch, here’s the Disney Speedstorm soft launch App Store link. You can pre-register for it on Google Play for Android worldwide here and pre-order it on the App Store here (same link as the soft launch). On Steam and consoles, Disney Speedstorm is available now. The mobile version is free to play with various in app purchase sets of tokens. An official release date is yet to be revealed for the mobile version, but there is a placeholder date on the App Store. Have you played Disney Speedstorm on any platform before and will you be trying it on mobile when it does release?

  • Jyuratodus, Legiana, Carpenterbugs and Monster Bone+ Quests, and More – TouchArcade

Jyuratodus, Legiana, Carpenterbugs and Monster Bone+ Quests, and More – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Niantic and Capcom have just revealed November 2023’s upcoming events, and while there are some expected and boring ones, the Qualily quests for important crafting materials is the first time I’d recommend actually doing these quests if you can. November 2023 follows the recently-ended Monster Hunter Now (Free) Halloween Pumpkin Hunt event that was not great. Beginning this Friday at 5 PM (local time), the Jyuratodus weekend begins with an increased appearance rate in the Swamp for all hunters HR 11 and higher. Monsters in all habitats will re-appear in shorter intervals as well.

Qualily’s Special Quests begin on November 10th at 5 PM until November 12th at 4 PM featuring time-limited quests for HR 11 and above hunters to earn Carpenterbugs, Monster Bone+, and Zenny. These are super important materials so I’d recommend doing the quests if you can. Then the Legiana weekend begins on November 17th (5 PM to 8 PM) until November 19th (1 PM to 4 PM) with November 18th having the event from 1 PM to 4 PM as well. The final event of November 2023 for Monster Hunter Now is the “Roar of the Desert: Diablos”. This will see Black Diablos return all weekend with a Hunter Medal and more rewards. The event goes on from November 20th until November 26th. During this, both Diablos and Black Diablos will appear more frequently in Desert Habitats for all hunters at HR11 and higher with all monsters re-appearing in shorter intervals.

If you are planning to start playing the game, I put together some tips and tricks for the game, details on the weapons, special skills, the current monsters list, my wishlist for future update monsters, and more. You can grab Monster Hunter Now on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. The in app purchases include different sets of gems and upgrades. Check out the official website here. What do you think of Monster Hunter Now if you’ve been playing it so far on iOS and Android?

  • ‘Kingdom Eighties’ Mobile Review – iOS, Switch, and Steam Deck Tested – TouchArcade

‘Kingdom Eighties’ Mobile Review – iOS, Switch, and Steam Deck Tested – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Well it happened again. I’m reviewing a game that Jared picked as our Game of the Week. I’d like to believe this is because we see the quality in specific games, but it is also because we both enjoy writing about great games on mobile. That’s where Kingdom Eighties ($4.99), the newest standalone entry in the Kingdom series from Raw Fury comes into the picture. It debuted on PC a few months ago, and finally made its way to mobile and consoles last week. While I’ve enjoyed prior games, the Kingdom Eighties setting had me very interested. Having now played it across iPhone, iPad, Switch, and Steam Deck for this iOS review, I love most aspects of Kingdom Eighties, but it might leave some longtime fans a bit disappointed for one aspect.

Unlike prior games in the series, Kingdom Eighties is a standalone singleplayer expansion that actually has a notable story. When Jared mentioned Stranger Things, he hit the nail on the head. In a lot of ways, Kingdom Eighties feels like a Stranger Things game, but it isn’t, and it is still excellent if you’re after a polished tower defense and building hybrid like the prior games in the series. If you never clicked with those, this isn’t going to change your mind, as it builds on the base (no pun intended) of prior games and plays very similarly.

In Kingdom Eighties, you basically move on a 2D plane, collect coins, explore, interact with NPCs, and build by investing said coins at specific locations or points of interest. You eventually unlock all sorts of wild things to help you against the greed in the different chapters and locations of the campaign. While I feel like these games are very much “learn from experience”, the tutorial does a good job of getting you up to speed with the basics of the game flow.

The narrative or campaign in Kingdom Eighties has you playing a camp counselor recruiting people to build or defend as you face off against the Greed. As this is a Kingdom game, you cannot afford to lose your crown or it is game over. The story here isn’t just some dialogue like a visual novel, but there are actual retro-style animated cut-scenes. Depending on the difficulty you choose, expect to get through Kingdom Eighties in about 6 or 7 hours with the survival mode unlocking after the campaign.

Kingdom Eighties nails its aesthetic and music for the 80s setting, and I love both aspects of the game a lot. The only thing I’d have changed is maybe adding some music from The Midnight, but that’s more of a want than a need for me. I love the reflections in the water, the subtle animations while riding the bike, and the VHS effect on the cut-scenes. I’m all for developers pulling out of left field things like the 80s setting here in their games. This obviously isn’t meant to be the next full Kingdom game, but as a standalone expansion, it is so good.

The lack of co-op might be a dealbreaker for many given the focus it had in Kingdom Two Crowns. I know many folks who loved that aspect of Kingdom Two Crowns, and keep playing that even today. Kingdom Eighties isn’t going to replace that, but it does do things a bit differently with its story and setting. The lower asking price compared to the main games definitely helps as well.

On mobile, I played Kingdom Eighties on my iPhone 11, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad Pro (2020). I tested progress syncing between the iPhone 11, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPad Pro with no issues. The game runs mostly fine, but I noticed some of the similar scrolling issues the Kingdom games have also present here to varying degrees depending on the device. Barring that, they have controller support or touchscreen controls that both are implemented well. On iPhone 15 Pro, performance was great, but that scrolling issue was still present to some degree, though not as bad as on Switch and older iOS devices.

Since I had access to the Switch version and bought Kingdom Eighties on Steam to play on Steam Deck as well, I was curious how it scaled. The Steam version is Steam Deck Verified, and it had the least amount of performance issues across the platforms I played it on barring iPhone 15 Pro. The Switch version while decent, has quite a bit of frame pacing issues in some parts, but it isn’t game breaking. I see no reason to recommend Kingdom Eighties on any platform other than iOS from the ones I own, since you get the full experience here at less than half the asking price of consoles and PC and with a conversion that runs much better than the Switch version. The Switch version also lacks touchscreen support.

Having now played Kingdom Eighties with its latest updates on iOS, Switch, and Steam Deck, it absolutely delivered in its promise of being a story-based expansion to the world of Kingdom. I was interested thanks to the setting, but the team nailed almost everything about this across its aesthetic, music, and story. The lack of co-op will no doubt be disappointing for some though, and I wish it ran without the few scrolling issues I encountered. Barring that, I have no issues recommending Kingdom Eighties at its current asking price. I hope the team builds on this setting for a future mainline game though.

  • Spooky new Battlefield mode lets you 3D print a bunch of terrifying naked dudes

Spooky new Battlefield mode lets you 3D print a bunch of terrifying naked dudes

    [ad_1]

Battlefield 2042 is enjoying a small resurgence as it nears its two-year anniversary, thanks to a recent free weekend, a sale, and multiple updates from the developer. The game’s new season will hopefully maintain players’ renewed interest in DICE’s futuristic military shooter — particularly the new mode that lets you deploy and fight against hordes of 3D-printed synthetic soldiers who run around naked and smash enemies’ heads in with hammers.

Season 6’s of Battlefield 2042 will introduce a new limited time mode called Killswitch, a 12v12 game type that lets players print out waves of Geists — the aforementioned buck-naked ’bots — that can be deployed in combat. They’re effectively (fast) zombies who sprint at the opposing team and try to bludgeon them to death, as seen in the trailer above.

Geists are printed at Forges in Killswitch’s maps (Redacted, Manifest, Hourglass and Spearhead), and teams will battle for control of those Forges while they simultaneously attempt to capture locations called AOS nodes.

How did these synthetic soldiers, who are not canonically zombies, find their way into Battlefield fiction? According to DICE and publisher Electronic Arts, a secret R&D lab off the coast of Scotland is the victim of an AI run amok. That artificial intelligence has taken over and created the Geist, glowing-eyed bad guys who are programmed to kill. Sure, I buy that.

While zombies may be something of a tired trope (and prominently associated with more popular modern military first-person shooters), it’s fun to see DICE and developer Ripple Effect experiment with Battlefield while new leadership rethinks EA’s approach to the franchise.

Killswitch is playable as part of Battlefield 2042’s Dark Protocol event, which runs Oct. 31 to Nov. 14. Players who take part in Killswitch matches can earn Ribbons that can be cashed in for free cosmetic rewards, like weapon and vehicle skins.

  • Feral Interactive on Bringing the Legendary RTS to Nintendo Switch, Cross Platform Multiplayer, and More – TouchArcade

Feral Interactive on Bringing the Legendary RTS to Nintendo Switch, Cross Platform Multiplayer, and More – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Another Feral Interactive interview in the same year? Could it be? Well, yes. Feral Interactive keeps bringing out more quality releases across platforms we cover, and I’m always up to talk porting, hardware, and more. While I spoke to Feral Interactive about Sid Meier’s Railroads, I’ve been wanting to also talk to the publisher and developer about its Nintendo Switch releases. With Company of Heroes coming to Switch as the Company of Heroes Collection, I knew it was the right time for a new interview. This one will focus on the Switch, optimizing a game built for keyboard and mouse for a controller on Nintendo Switch, game tutorials, and more.

TouchArcade (TA): It has been a few months since I interviewed you, and we’ve seen some interesting hints and announcements leading up to this new launch. While the last interview was for a mobile launch, we are now focusing on Nintendo Switch. Could you share your knowledge on the Nintendo Switch hardware and how it compares to mobile devices?

Feral Interactive (FI): The Nintendo Switch is a dedicated games console, so all its power is reserved for playing games. Mobile operating systems are designed for all sorts of tasks, making for compromises in the gaming department.

That said, the Switch hardware is now getting a little long in the tooth. It’s based on a 2015 Nvidia chip, customized with lower CPU and GPU speeds to extend battery life.

The Switch CPU, in particular, is not as powerful as that found in most modern mobile devices, so a lot of time is spent ensuring a balance of resources between all 3 CPU cores and the GPU for the best overall performance. This sounds simple, but can take significant engineering before performance meets release standards.

TA: With Alien: Isolation, we saw a game you released on Switch come to mobile, but Company of Heroes is the other way around. How has it been working on the codebase going from mobile to Switch?

FI: GRID Autosport was released on mobile before Switch, so we have done it both ways round — the only thing left to do is both platforms at the same time!

When going from mobile to Switch, the main focus areas are interface and optimization. The Switch needs a gamepad-centric interface (as opposed to touch, which is the focus on mobile). We alluded above to the challenge of getting games performant on Switch: a lot of time is spent optimizing games to make sure they perform well — and perform consistently.

In moving from Switch to mobile, a lot of the performance optimization will already have been done. This is a great foundation to build on, and that often facilitates better performance on the most powerful, top-end devices. It also allows more focus on things like additional input methods (touch, keyboard & mouse), and redesigning the user experience (UX) dynamically to adapt to various screen sizes.

There’s no one preferred route. Both have their challenges. While there is more power to work with on mobile, there is also a huge variety of devices. Optimizing for and testing hundreds of different phones and tablets takes a lot of time: they all have different screen sizes, chipsets, RAM, operating system versions, driver versions, etc. On Switch, the optimization challenges are tougher, but that can be offset by developing for a single device — the limitations of which are well understood.

TA: You already confirmed to me that there are no plans to bring controller support to mobile for Company of Heroes, but I’m curious about the challenges involved in translating a game like this from touch or keyboard & mouse to a controller for Switch.

FI: This is an evolution of our mobile work. Over the last few years, we have learned a lot about how to adapt games’ control mechanisms while retaining the feel of the gameplay.

With Company of Heroes, the UX and controls had already been reworked for touchscreens, so we were familiar with the challenges… The biggest one for a gamepad is to group controls and actions so they flow naturally. This requires a lot of iteration of the control mapping. For Company of Heroes, there are many different command actions, but, whether the player is using a Commander Ability, issuing a unit command, or building, the inputs and steps must be consistent and feel “right.”

It is relatively easy to come up with a mapping that works for 8 out of 10 commands. The real test is ensuring the final 2 maintain that coherent feel.

So, significant effort goes into iterating on the control system for consistency, ensuring similar actions follow similar flows of button presses. Adding or moving a single command can have knock-on effects that flow across the entire controller mapping, so you need to review the impact of a change on the entire experience.

Finally, when it comes to controls in RTS games, players have different preferences for how certain features should work. After extensive testing and iteration, options were added to allow players of all skill levels to customize their experience. For example, the game can automatically deselect units after issuing a construction order, auto-open the building wheel when a base structure is selected, and invert unit facing when issuing a command. These and similar additions all help to make it feel like the game fits the player, rather than demand that the player conforms to its demands.

We also needed to update all the UX elements to work with a controller, but I think we’ve gone into enough detail already!

TA: Was there any input or reference taken from the team doing Company of Heroes 3 for PS5 and Xbox Series X in bringing over Company of Heroes to Nintendo Switch for its interface and controls?

FI: We have worked with Relic [Entertainment] for well over a decade, and have a great relationship. We discuss concepts with them on all our Relic projects, including Company of Heroes for Switch. But, while the fundamentals of Company of Heroes and Company of Heroes 3 are similar, there are a lot of gameplay differences between the two, and that limits the potential for close collaboration.

TA: What led to choosing Company of Heroes over something like ROME: Total War for Feral Interactive’s first PC-focused game coming to Nintendo Switch?

FI: As a company, Feral has tried to stage its development one platform at a time — sequenced to allow us to gain the knowledge that provides a sound basis for tackling the next platform.

ROME: Total War on iPad was the first mobile release, and an ideal starting point because, for a mobile device, it has a relatively large screen and a limited number of form factors.

Once the iPad version was released and well received, we started developing an iPhone version, redesigning and optimizing the interface to display large amounts of complex information on a smaller screen.

We then moved on to Android, which has a much wider variety of hardware than iOS, so poses more technical and QA challenges than it does design.

The decision to bring Company of Heroes rather than ROME: Total War is predicated on the differences in their gameplay. The former is an RTS game with various campaigns, all played out inside a real-time 3D environment. The Total War series has that same RTS element, alongside a turn-based strategy component, with many screens of detailed text and statistics. That presents a significant additional obstacle to what is already a challenging design and development task.

So, before anything else, let’s see how the Company of Heroes Collection is received on Switch!

TA: You mentioned there were some plans for looking into a physical release, and I’m curious whether this is something you will discuss in the near future?

FI: We know that there are plenty of Switch gamers who would like a physical copy, however, Company of Heroes will be a digital-only release at launch. The economics are such that it is hard to make them work for physical releases, and, while there are physical versions of a couple of our Switch releases on the way, there are no firm plans for Company of Heroes.

TA: What should players expect in terms of resolution and frame rate in docked and handheld modes?

The aim is a consistent 30fps at native resolution (1080p docked and 720p undocked), and anti-aliasing is used to sharpen the 3D elements. It took a lot of engineering to get every drop of performance from the Switch by parallelising tasks over the CPU cores and the GPU.

TA: Will the Switch version have the mobile touch support interface when played in handheld mode?

FI: Although there are touch controls on mobile, they are not the best fit for the Switch, which is controlled using Joy-Cons in both handheld and docked modes.

There are a couple of reasons for this: the entire game’s UX and controls have been designed to use Joy-Cons. Implementing a touch interface solely for the handheld experience is hard to justify, and we preferred to focus our efforts on Joy-Con support.

Also, holding a Switch to use touch controls similar to Company of Heroes on mobile is physically uncomfortable!

TA: Are you utilizing HD Rumble in the Company of Heroes Collection on Switch??

FI: No, there are no areas in the game which lend themselves to that feature.

TA: A bit offtopic, this announcement got me thinking about how Feral Interactive did Dawn of War II for macOS and Linux, but not the original game. Are there plans to bring Dawn of War to mobile or Switch?

FI: That is a great suggestion. We’ll take it under advisement.

TA: I adore Company of Heroes on iPad, and I’m hoping it serves as a great entry point into the genre for Switch owners who have not sampled it yet. Feral Interactive’s tutorials are amazing. Will you be doing similar videos for the Switch version of Company of Heroes?

FI: Glad you appreciate the online tutorials. A lot of thought and effort goes into them because we want people to get the best from the games we release.

The Switch lacks a web browser for accessing YouTube, so help has to be delivered differently.

Instead, dynamic prompts illustrate and expose controls to the player in-game. Control prompts are also smaller and easier to list than describing a gesture, which makes them ideal for Switch.

There are also additional controller layout visuals in the pause menus and updated in-game tutorials to round out the Help.

TA: Company of Heroes on Switch is releasing as Company of Heroes Collection with all DLC, but multiplayer isn’t being included at launch. Is there anything else coming later on with patches in terms of optimization or additional features barring multiplayer?

FI: Apart from online multiplayer, there are no planned post-release updates. Our aim is to deliver a polished and complete game from the outset. We’re old-fashioned like that!

TA: Has there been any progress for Company of Heroes multiplayer on mobile? Will it have cross play with Switch?

FI: Work on cross-platform multiplayer between mobile and Switch has been underway for some time. The plan is to start with a multiplayer beta on Android in early 2024, then follow that with iOS and Switch multiplayer updates later in the year.

TA: Since Feral Interactive is handling the new Switch and prior mobile versions of Company of Heroes, are there plans for cross progression / save?

FI: Supporting cross-platform multiplayer is in the works, but cross-platform save games for the single player is not. Each platform uses a distinct save game system, and they are technically incompatible for a number of reasons.

TA: So far, Feral Interactive has been focusing on Switch on the console side. Are there plans to bring any of your titles to PS5 and Xbox in the future?

FI: There have been a number of requests… There are no immediate plans, but “message received!”

TA: What are your thoughts on the current state of mobile and console gaming for premium games?

FI: Game development never stands still. So, while mobiles are getting more powerful, the specifications for AAA games are increasing — which makes for a continually moving target.

With Apple’s latest A17 chip adding even more GPU performance, and Qualcomm soon to release their latest chipset for Android devices, the possibilities keep on expanding.

Another challenge is install size. Mobile app stores have an initial install limit of either 2GB or 4GB, depending on the deployment method. With AAA games often 10 to 20 times larger than this, it’s sometimes impossible, however good the compression techniques, to get all of a game’s content within those limits. That means players are often required to download further data after the initial download of a 4GB app, which is not a great user experience. Better support for large applications on mobile app stores is very much on the wanted list!

In regard to console: our focus is on Nintendo Switch. We are excited to be bringing great games to the platform, and are thrilled with the reception they have had. Of course, most of us here at Feral are gamers, and we play a lot of the big releases outside our target platforms. 2023 has been a great year for games, and we’re looking forward to what 2024 brings on both the software and hardware side!

We’d like to thank everyone at Feral Interactive for their time here.

Stardew Valley ($4.99) game creator Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) just announced the Stardew Valley Concert Tour titled the “Festival of Seasons” for 2024 across different parts of the world. This is the first ever orchestral concert tour for the game, and it will feature select music from the game with tickets going on sale this Friday on the official concert website. The music in Stardew Valley is excellent, and I hope we get a blu-ray release for a performance on this tour. If you’ve not followed the game in a while, there’s a major upcoming Stardew Valley 1.6 update planned with 8 player multiplayer for PC, two mini festivals, new late-game content, winter outfits for all villagers, a new reward type for billboard requests, 100+ new lines of dialogue, and a lot more. If you haven’t tried Stardew Valley yet, read our original review. We even featured it as our Game of the Week. You can buy it on the App Store for iOS here and for Android here on Google Play. If you own a Nintendo Switch and an iOS device, I compared both versions of the game to help you find the best platform to play it on. Here’s our forum thread on the game for more discussion. ‘Honkai Star Rail’ Version 1.4 Update Now Available on Mobile and PC Alongside Today’s PS5 Launch – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Honkai Star Rail’s major 1.4 update “Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream” with new areas: Old Weapon Testing Ground and Pillars of Creation, the Aetherium Wars game, new playable characters, and more has launched on iOS, Android, and PC as of a few hours ago. Alongside the update launching, Honkai Star Rail has also launched globally on PS5 with cross progression. If you pre-loaded on PC or mobile, the download within the app client will not be much. On PS5, the Honkai Star Rail download size is about 34GB. If you do plan on playing on PS5, make sure you carefully go through the menus so you don’t inadvertently create a new HoYoverse account linked to PSN rather than having your main one linked. Since I already had this setup for Genshin Impact, it just picked that up and had me signed in when I booted up Honkai Star Rail. Watch the Honkai Star Rail PS5 launch trailer below:

Watch the Honkai Star Rail Aetherium Wars trailer below:

Full patch notes for 1.4 are here. Logging into the game on PS5 will get you an added reward as detailed here. I’ll definitely be trying out Honkai Star Rail more on PS5 today. If you’ve not gotten Honkai Star Rail yet, you can download it on the App Store for iOS here, on Google Play for Android here, and here on the Epic Games Store in addition to its regular PC version. Have you been playing Honkai Star Rail regularly since it launched on mobile and PC and will you be trying it on PS5?

Capcom Could Reach a Point Where It Target Mobile Alongside Current-Generation Consoles According to Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Capcom recently revealed the price point and release date for the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPad M1 versions of Resident Evil Village () and also confirmed the price point for Resident Evil 4 remake. Details for the pricing, DLC, and pre-orders are here. In a new interview (Source: GamesIndustry.Biz via The GameDiscoverCo newsletter), Capcom Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda revealed that the studio could reach a point where it is able to target phones and tablets alongside current-generation consoles. The interview is worth reading for how Capcom worked with Apple before these ports, the M2 chips, and more.

In the same interview, Masachika Kawata, one of Resident Evil Village’smentioned that Capcom is not ready to commit to simultaneous releases of future games, because there are a lot of unknowns and the team will get feedback based on the current games scheduled to launch. They want to do better with each iteration. I don’t expect simultaneous releases, but I’m interested to see what Capcom brings next following these two releases. I doubt the team worked on supporting the RE Engine for Apple hardware just for two games. You can pre-order Resident Evil Village here for iPhone 15 Pro series and iPad (M1 and later). It is a free download with a one time unlock for the full game, and also extra DLC available like on PC and consoles. Will you be trying out Resident Evil 4 or Resident Evil Village on iPadOS or iPhone 15 Pro this year?

Capcom Comments on Possible ‘Mega Man X DiVE Offline’ DLC and Collaborations in New TGS 2023 Video – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Following its launch early last month, Capcom has commented (via Reddit) on the possibility of DLC and collaborations for Mega Man X Dive in a new TGS 2023 video showcasing the booth and more. Mega Man X DiVE Offline ($29.99) on iOS, Android, and Steam is an offline version of the free to play online game, but this one is a premium release. It includes Zero, Proto Man, Bass, Sigma, and Mega Man.Exe and over 900 stages, fan-favorite bosses, and more. It unfortunately didn’t have all the content from the online game, and in the new TGS 2023 video which you can watch below, Capcom commented on DLC and more for the game to address player feedback. While there wasn’t a definitive answer, the team is clearly thinking about it based on the responses from 5:00 onwards. Watch the video below:

Mega Man X DiVE Offline had some very interesting Capcom (and more) collaborations, and I hope those at least some of those make it in. If you’ve not gotten it yet, Mega Man X DiVE Offline is now available for $29.99 on iOS, Android, and Steam. Check out the official website for Mega Man X DiVE Offline here. You can buy Mega Man X DiVE Offline on Steam here, on the App Store for iOS here, and on Google Play for Android here. What do you think of Mega Man X DiVE Offline so far and what collaborations or DLC would you like to see added to the game in the future if Capcom ends up adding more content?

  • Castles’ Is Available in Early Access on Android, Looks Similar to ‘Fallout Shelter’ – TouchArcade

Castles’ Is Available in Early Access on Android, Looks Similar to ‘Fallout Shelter’ – TouchArcade

    [ad_1]

Back when Fallout Shelter (Free) released on mobile, and eventually hit consoles and PC, I didn’t think it would lead to something similar for The Elder Scrolls, but here we are. The Elder Scrolls: Castles is a new simulation game from Bethesda Game Studios that has just hit Android early access as revealed on its Google Play page. This game is yet to be officially announced, but could be the title Todd Howard was talking about back in November (Via IGN and Lex Fridman’s podcast). The Elder Scrolls: Castles has you controlling your castle and dynasty, oversee your subjects, grow, get more rulers, and more. The gameplay screenshot on the Google Play page below does remind me of Fallout Shelter. This game is unrelated to The Elder Scrolls Blades it seems.

As of this writing, an official announcement or iOS version are yet to be revealed. Maybe it will also come to iOS when it is ready for its full launch, or release sooner as a soft launch. Until then, you can try out Bethesda Game Studios’ newest release with The Elder Scrolls: Castles on Android right now. Check it out on Google Play here. The Elder Scrolls: Castles is in development for mobile, but I assume it will also come to PC and consoles eventually. Hopefully we get an official announcement for it in the near future. If you’ve been interested in Bethesda Game Studio’s PC and Xbox game Starfield, read my review in progress here. Did you play Fallout Shelter and will you be trying out The Elder Scrolls: Castles on Android today?
