  • Fluffy Pit Bull and 60 other shelter dogs in Daytona Beach, Florida Get Second Shot at Adoption – AGoldPhoto Pet Photography

    [ad_1]

When the Halifax Humane Society in Daytona, Florida reached out about bringing my Second Shot adoption photo program to their shelter, I didn’t hesitate.

Their team told me about several dogs who have been waiting over 150 days for a home. One of them, Gaia, a fluffy pit mix with a heart of gold, quickly became a stand-out.

In her kennel, Gaia’s stress and high energy didn’t always make the best first impression — but once we got her outside for her Second Shot photo session, her true personality shone through. The photos and videos from her session have already started going viral, helping potential adopters see the sweet, playful dog she really is.

That’s the power of professional pet photography. Shelters work tirelessly to care for their animals, but intake photos are often taken quickly under poor lighting and stressful conditions. Second Shot gives these pets a second chance to make a first impression, which can mean the difference between months in the shelter and a new life in a forever home.

I’m excited to share that I’m open to working with other shelters across Florida — not just in Daytona and Tampa. Shelters can bring me in directly, and we can work together to find  business sponsors to help offset the cost of the program. These sponsorships not only support the shelter but also give brands meaningful content and a cause to connect with their community.

If you’re a Florida shelter looking to highlight your long-stay pets or a business interested in sponsoring Second Shot in your area, let’s talk.

Together, we can help more pets, like Gaia, finally go home.

  • Paws N Rec Funds Tampa Shelter Dog Photography Through Second Shot – AGoldPhoto Pet Photography

    [ad_1]

Paws N Rec Helps Tampa Shelter Dogs Get Adopted With Professional Photos

Tampa doggy daycare Paws N Rec is helping me use the power of photography to help shelter dogs find loving homes at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

As an official sponsor of the Second Shot photography program, Paws N Rec funds professional portraits of shelter dogs taken by AGoldPhoto Pet Photography. These portraits replace the dogs’ intake photos and showcase their true personalities—smiling, playful, and full of potential.

Each image is printed, framed, and placed on the dog’s kennel at the shelter, helping them stand out to visitors and make an immediate emotional connection.

Thanks to Paws N Rec’s sponsorship, the shelters don’t bear the cost—allowing more dogs to get the exposure they need without straining limited resources.

By funding the Second Shot photography program in Tampa, Paws N Rec is helping local shelter pets get the second chance they deserve—one photo at a time.

We’ve also teamed up with That’s So Tampa to help bring even more exposure to these shelter dogs. They’ll be sharing behind the scenes content and Second Shot photos with their audience too.

  • Tampa Photographer Aims to Photograph 100 Adoptable Pit Bulls – AGoldPhoto Pet Photography

Tampa Photographer Aims to Photograph 100 Adoptable Pit Bulls – AGoldPhoto Pet Photography

    [ad_1]

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month! Throughout the month, Tampa Pet Photographer, Adam Goldberg (agoldphoto), will be photographing 100 adoptable Pit Bull and Pit Bull type dogs at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center and the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Goldberg has been photographing adoptable pets, mostly at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, since 2016. His mission is to give adoptable pets a Second Shot at adoption with a second photo. He’s recently started working with local area rescues too.

The first of five photo sessions for this project was at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center. This county facility has over 220 dogs in their care and over half of them are Pit Bull Type Dogs.

The goal of this project is to raise awareness about Pit Bulls and give them some positive PR. Goldberg says that Pit Bulls are usually the easiest type of dog to photograph because they aim to please and they tend to love people. They often get a bad rap in the media and the goal of this project is to change that.

The first 12 dogs to get adopted will also be featured in a 2025 Pit Bull Wall Calendar. Proceeds from the calendar will benefit future Second Shot photo shoots. Stay tuned for a pre-sale link.

Thanks to the shelter staff, volunteers and Ilana with Fairytail Pet Care for helping!

  • 13 Shelter Pets in Tampa Get a “Second Shot” at Adoption

13 Shelter Pets in Tampa Get a “Second Shot” at Adoption

    [ad_1]

There’s never a shortage of pets to photograph at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay who are in need of a Second Shot Photo Shoot. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of homes with pet ownership.

Pet ownership has fallen to 66% of households, according to Statista. Now that the pandemic has come to an end, pet ownership has also declined.

According to the American Pet Products Association, “employers who are pet friendly are 32% more likely to attract, engage and retain their employees.”

What’s the take away? If more businesses become pet friendly, more pets are likely to be adopted and that business will attract more talent too. It’s a win win!

If you’re a pet friendly business, you may also want to consider sponsoring our Second Shot program.

Second Shot gives shelter pets a second photo, to give them a second shot at a forever home. We run this program with our friends at FairyTail Pet Care.

You can contribute as little as $5/month on our Patreon or you can sponsor an entire shoot for $1,250. An entire shoot allows us to photograph 10-15 more shelter pets in a given month. Please email [email protected] to become a Second Shot Sponsor.

These Second Shots were sponsored by The Pawlowski//Mastrilli Law Group.

Tampa Shelter Dog Looking for Family to Give Kisses To

    [ad_1]

We posted about Betsy last week, who had been at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for 72 days and she got adopted 2 days later. Let’s try this again!

Bleu has been available for adoption at the Humane Society of Tapa Bay since March 4, 2024.

He can be a little shy at first, but once he warmed up to us after 10 minutes, his personality came out.

What’s funny about Bleu is that he has the exact same expression in his intake photo and his Second Shot. We figured it out afterwards that the two poses matched but it’s too funny not to point out. He’s showing his new potential family that he wants to give kisses!

Second Shot is our adoption program that we run with FairyTail Pet Care. We take new photos of adoptable pets, to giving them a Second Shot at a forever home!

Bleu’s Second Shot was sponsored by Pawlowski Mastrilli Law Group

Mom Thanks Former Street Dog for Saving Her Life – AGoldPhoto Pet Photography

    [ad_1]

Seamus, a former street dog, could sense something was wrong when his Mom Colleen, was struggling to breath in her sleep.

His “devotion and attentiveness” woke her up and she was rushed to the hospital and she ended up needing life saving surgery.

Colleen shared this with us, in her thank you note to Seamus, for Tails of Gratitude – A Collection of Thank You Notes From People To Their Pets, our Fundraising Coffee Table Book that raises $10,000 for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Since 2021, Over 150 families have participated and they have helped raise just under $30,000 for the shelter.

This year long project culminates with a launch party where we present the donation to the shelter and reveal who is on the cover of the book.

Well as you probably guessed or have already seen, Seamus is on the cover of Tails of Gratitude Volume 3, and for good reason!

Tampa's AGoldPhoto Pet Photography Gets National News Coverage

    [ad_1]

I started taking photos of shelter animals in 2013 and fell in love with it right away!

Since 2016, we have been going to The Humane Society of Tampa Bay once a month, and with the help of sponsors, we have been going to the shelter more and more.

Some of our videos on Instagram and TikTok have gone viral, which has brought us some additional media attention. We were featured in Newsweek and on World News Tonight with David Muir.

We were also featured on Fear Free Happy Homes which provides online education to veterinary professionals, pet professionals, animal welfare communities, and pet owners.

It’s hard to believe the whole country knows who I am! We’ve gotten so many messages from photographers that we inspired them to contact their local shelter, so that’s a win too!

If your business or company would like to sponsor an upcoming adoption photo shoot, please email [email protected].

  • We Replace Shelter Pet Intake Photos with New Photos

We Replace Shelter Pet Intake Photos with New Photos

    [ad_1]

Thanks to our new sponsorship initiative, businesses and companies can sponsor our adoption photo shoots at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

We have been volunteering at the shelter once a month since 2016 and having sponsors allow us to go to the shelter 3 more times a month.

The shelter intake photo is taken right when they arrive, which is when they are very scared and nervous. Having your photo taken at a vulnerable time like that is never ideal. You can see their intake photos on their adoption profiles on the shelter’s website.

This month we had 2 adoption photo days, which allows us to photograph 24 shelter pets. Next month, we’ll be at the shelter 4 times!

We have seen so much support for our adoption photo shoots online that a Reel we made on instagram has over 4 million views and we have a video on TikTok with over 6 million views! We have also inspired photographers all over the world to reach out to their local shelter to start doing this too!

Special thanks to Elite Rewards for sponsoring us this month!

You can also sponsor our adoption photo shoots as an individual for as little as $5/month on our Patreon.

If your business or company would like to sponsor our adoption photo shoots, please email [email protected] for more information.
