Nicolas Cage Talks Debt on ‘60 Minutes.’ See His Net Worth Now | Entrepreneur

Nicolas Cage admitted that his continued interest in acting isn’t just for fun.
The “Face Off” actor revealed on “60 Minutes” that his Hollywood roles have kept him afloat after he fell into $6 million in debt following some bad investments.
“I was overinvested in real estate. … The real estate market crashed, and I couldn’t get out in time,” he said about the years of the housing crisis in the late 2000s.
In 2009, Cage ended up owing the IRS and creditors $14 million, according to ABC News, after he sued his former business manager for allegedly leading him “down a path toward financial ruin,” he told GQ in 2022. Despite reportedly owing $14 million, Cage told “60 Minutes” that he “paid them all back, but it was about $6 million. I never filed for bankruptcy.”
Cage told “60 Minutes” he moved to Las Vegas in the midst of his financial woes in 2006 which is notably tax-free, and started making three to four movies a year.
“It was dark, sure,” he said of his days to get back in good financial standing but said there was “no doubt” that acting helped him in his darkest times.
“Work was always my guardian angel. It may not have been blue chip, but it was still work,” he said. “Even if the movie ultimately is crummy, they know I’m not phoning it in, that I care every time.”
According to CNBC, the actor once owned 15 multi-million-dollar properties around the world. He also purchased a 70-million-year-old dinosaur skull for $276,000, that later had to be returned after it was discovered to have been stolen.
Bustle reported that Cage had once owned 50 cars, including a $450,000 Lamborghini that was custom-made for the Shah of Iran. He also reportedly paid $150,000 for a pet octopus, and he owns a pyramid tomb he hopes to be buried in.

In 2019, Cage told the New York Times his finances play a big role in his continuous work efforts.
“Money is a factor. I’m going to be completely direct about that. There’s no reason not to be,” he said. “There are times when it’s more of a factor than not.”

As Rolling Stone report, Sizemore was “found unconscious after suffering a brain aneurysm from a stroke at his Los Angeles home in the early morning of Feb. 19″. Having been kept alive on a ventilator for the past two weeks, his family made the decision over the weekend to “remove him from life support”, and he subsequently “passed away peacefully in his sleep”.
Sizemore, an actor you almost repeatedly saw described as “troubled” over the course of his career (he had long-standing drug problems and in 2003 spent seven months in prison on domestic abuse charges), was one of the most memorable stars of the 90s, owning every second he appeared on the screen in everything from Heat to True Romance to Saving Private Ryan.
For me, I can just never get his “very upset undercover agent” Point Break character out of my head. I will, even today, say the line “YOU THINK I LIKE THESE CLOTHES?!?!” every time I’m forced to put on a tie. Incredibly, the dude is only in this movie for like a minute. Point Break goes for two hours! And here I am saying it’s one of his most iconic performances. That’s what Tom Sizemore would do to a movie.
Tom Sizemore in Point Break As you’d already know, this being a video game website, Sizemore was also famous for his role as Sonny Forelli in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
The game opens with Sizemore’s performance. He’s miles away from where the game’s actually set, you will barely see his face and yet he’s entrusted with setting up the whole damn thing, tone and all, and he absolutely nails it. Even when you can tell the parts where he’s just reading off a script with little idea of the context or what’s coming, it’s still good.

As announced November 30, Valve is celebrating The Game Awards with a massive Steam Deck giveaway. The company will be giving out a free handheld PC to a single person every minute for the entire run of The Game Awards. (Never in history has someone wanted The Game Awards to run long, until now…) To have a chance, you’ll need to first register for the drawing, which you can do now, then watch The Game Awards via Valve’s Steam.TV website.
It was an odd promo for a number of reasons. Firstly, because as early as the first major award presentation the show was clearly running way over time, something even host Geoff Keighley had to acknowledge in relation to the giveaway. And secondly, because of who won.
During Christopher Judge’s acceptance speech, which, yes, did run long but was also incredibly emotional and heart-warming, the winners of Steam Decks started popping up. So while Judge was up there, pouring out his heart, the rest of us were witness to:

People who were either disappointed (a minority) or who found it incredibly funny (the majority) began tweeting their congratulations to Mr or Mrs Hunter, which led at one point to “Milf Hunter” becoming a trending topic in the United States across all of Twitter.
Given “Milf Hunter” is also the name of a porn outlet, and The Game Awards have almost zero cultural penetration outside this bubble, you can understand some people’s confusion:

Movie, TV Productions Continue COVID Safety Protocols

Oct. 1, 2022 — Movie, TV, and theatrical productions will continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols as unions and studios negotiate a new return-to-work agreement, according to the Directors Guild of America.
The current agreement, which was previously scheduled to expire on Friday, will be extended until the groups reach a new compromise. First adopted in September 2020, the agreement was originally set to expire in April 2021 but has been extended several times.
The safety protocols have allowed industry productions to move forward during the pandemic, taking into account the potential risk of infection among actors and crew members based on the production location and employee vaccination status. During the past two years, revised agreements have included rules for mandatory vaccination, physical distancing, COVID compliance officers, travel and transportation restrictions, and testing and mask requirements while filming or on stage.
Several weeks ago, talks over a new version began between several unions — including the Directors Guild of America (DGA), Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), Hollywood Basic Crafts, and International Brotherhood of Teamsters — and the negotiating entity for studios, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).
Many producers and directors have said they plan on instructing productions to comply with protocols in the current agreement, regardless of whether the requirements are loosened, according to The Hollywood Reporter
In recent weeks, SAG-AFTRA has had internal debates about the safety protocols, the news outlet reported. An outspoken group in the organization has opposed certain aspects of the vaccine requirements for actors and crew members. Despite a board meeting in mid-September, however, the union decided not to modify any policies regarding vaccine mandates.
When the industry-wide agreement underwent a renegotiation in July, unions and studios made two small changes to protocols around transportation and meals in locations where COVID case numbers are high, the news outlet reported.
Now that the current infection rates are low around Hollywood, Los Angeles County health officials have ended a rule requiring masks on public transportation. However, a potential fall or winter surge in infections could change the precautions again, the news outlet reported.
