  • A$AP Rocky Sweetly Surprises Rihanna With 38th Birthday Party, Rih-Unites Bad Gal With Family & Friends For Fenty Festivities

What looked like another romantic date night turned out to be full-out Fenty festivities at Rihanna’s favorite restaurant, Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica. Fresh off the NYFW runway for the rapper’s AWGE show, the “Fashion Killa” lovebirds kept their looks luxe and laidback for their night out. Rocky layered white and red checkered shirts with a crisp khakis. The guest of honor wore a sheer black floor-length dress with matching heels and a fur jacket.

The party went down in a private room decked out with silver “Happy Birthday” decorations, baby blue flowers, and colorful balloons. Rocky was front and center as everyone sang for the diamond-selling diva before she made a birthday wish.

Instead of a cake, she blew out the candle on a chacuterie board.

The birthday baddie posted clips of herself turning up with her besties Jenn and Melissa.

“Late post because we were outside. Happy birthday to the BADDEST GALLLL. 38. Still fine. PeriodT,” she wrote with a champagne toast emoji.

Mama’s gotta have a life, too!

Rihanna & A$AP Rocky’s Last Night Out For Valentine’s Day

Once again, Rocky proved he doesn’t play about his queen. After Rihanna supported her man, her man, her man in the front row of his fashion show, they had a romantic date night in NYC for Valentine’s Day.

Rih was ravishing in a red vintage Galliano gown and Rocky matched her chic in a suit and leather trench coat with a Chanel hat to stay warm. He also didn’t step out empty-handed, carrying what looks like a V-Day gift for the Bajan babe.

For all the those taking notes on how to bag a baddie like Rih and keep her happy, A$AP Rocky shared some relationship advice with Complex.

“Go somewhere you’ve never been and where she’s never been. It don’t gotta be the most extravagant place. Go somewhere y’all can have an experience together,” he continued, suggesting to spice it up by sneaking in some champagne for a movie date.

He warned that pouring up (and lighting up) in a theater would get you kicked out, but said that’s part of the fun to laugh at together for years to come. Remember this is a man with bail money to spare before you follow that word for word, but it’s still the thought that counts!

Happy Birthday to the baddest Bad Gal, Rihanna!

  • ‘Claressa Shields Type Gone Bout Him’: Rihanna Is GWOAT Gushing About Her Man A$AP Rocky, The Boxing Champ Responds

    [ad_1]

    Source: Dimitrios Kambouris/Johnny Nunez

Rihanna isn’t too busy counting money to let the world know how she feels about her man, A$AP Rocky, or to give a shoutout to Claressa Shields and Papoose‘s infamous love story.

In a rare appearance on X, the Bajan billionaire responded to a video clip posted of she and the Harlem rapper in which she appeared absolutely smitten with her man. The social media user captioned the clip “Rihanna is gone” and the Fenty Beauty founder made sure to confirm their suspicions saying,

“Claressa Shields type gone bout him!!”

This, of course, sent the girlies into a spiral of hysteria as the boxing gwoat has become synonymous with being head over heels, nose wide open in love with your partner. It also, once again, proves that Rihanna is always chronically online and here for the messiest of mess. If you were around for her Twitter era, you already know the vibes.

Claressa was ready to hop in and add her two cents in agreement with Rihanna.

“period @rihanna only way to be about a good man.”

Chile, may that type of love find everyone who wants it.

Along with being #GoneBoutHim, the undefeated women’s boxing champion is training for her first fight of the year. She’ll face off against Franchon Crews-Dezurn in Detroit, MI on Feb. 22. It’s a homecoming of sorts for Shields who hails from Flint, MI and has ties to Motown. She and Crews-Dezurn have been trading quips via social media ahead of their highly-anticipated bout.

Shields will be defending her heavyweight titles in their matchup and Crews-Dezurn will be hoping to add to her growing resume.

As for Rihanna, the head Savage in charge seems to be mostly in mommy mode; however, her second album “A Girl Like Me” turns 20 this year. One can only hope she may feel obliged to do something special for her fans to commemorate the moment. The #RihannaNavy probably isn’t holding their breath for new music anymore but hey, one can still dream.

  • ‘That’s My Baby Daddy!’ Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Roll In A Rolls Royce For His 37th Birthday In First Outing Since Welcoming Third Child

    [ad_1]

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are officially back on the public scene! The mother of three was spotted on her first public outing since welcoming her third child, daughter Rocki Irish Mayers. The special occasion? Celebrating Rocky’s 37th birthday, marking a stylish return to the West Hollywood spotlight.

    Source: Sylvain Lefevre / Getty

The family celebration came just weeks after the “Rude Boy” songstress announced the arrival of their first daughter—and third child—on September 24. Baby Rocki, born on September 13, 2025, joined big brothers RZA Athelston (May 2022) and Riot Rose (August 2023).

For their night out, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky served up a coordinated look. The beauty mogul rocked a hip black leather bomber jacket, paired with black pants featuring feathered hems, finishing the ensemble with matching black heels and a pair of shades. Her rapper partner opted for a complementary outfit, donning a tan trench coat and matching pants with a tie. According to Page Six, the two were seen chatting outside the venue before climbing into a convertible Rolls-Royce, with Rihanna happily waving at photographers from the backseat.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky: Creating New Family Traditions

The love story between Rihanna and A$AP Rocky began in 2020, though they had been friends for much longer, having first collaborated on a remix of Rihanna’s hit “Cockiness (Love It)” in 2012. Their relationship has been defined by rapid family growth and a dedication to home life, even amidst their busy careers. When asked by Elle magazine last month if he had plans to become a husband, Rocky playfully dodged the question: “How you know I’m not already a husband?” he laughed. “I’m still not gonna confirm it.” However, proceedings during his assault trial confirmed that the two musicians are not legally married.

Both stars emphasize that their priority is their children and their relationship. Rocky shared his philosophy on home life: “When you come home, it’s about family. It’s about your relationship. It’s about your household. It ain’t about all that other s–t.” Rihanna echoed this sentiment in a previous interview with E! News, stating, “Motherhood, wifehood-ish, wife-ish hood and just being a homebody. I love it.” She added that she loves to be a “homemaker” and is focused on “build[ing] new traditions for our little family that we built.”

Adding a touch of industry camaraderie to the celebration, Tyler, the Creator, posted a birthday tribute to Rocky. Tyler shared a screenshot on his Instagram Story of the two on FaceTime, showing off their gold grillz, and affectionately referred to the birthday boy as his “work husband.”

  • Rihanna’s New 3rd Baby’s Name Brings Us One Step Closer to a Unified Theory of Kardashianism

    [ad_1]

On Wednesday, Rihanna and partner A$AP Rocky announced via Instagram that they’d welcomed their third child together, the couple’s first daughter. The baby’s biological sex isn’t the only thing different this time around: The happy parents unveiled the baby’s name at the same time they revealed the baby, too, less than two weeks after her birth. “Rocki Irish Mayers,” Rihanna wrote in her caption. “Sept 13 2025.”

Baby Rocki’s arrival and the subsequent heraldic announcement of her birth follows one family tradition, that of R-names (Rihanna’s legal name is Robyn, and Rocky’s is Rakim, and big brothers RZA and Riot Rose continued the line), and supports the idea one can be both a baddie and a Pinterest mom. The third time around, this is the most timely reveal of a Rihanna offspring’s photo, name, and birth date thus far.

Remember that it was nearly a year (two days short, to be exact) after eldest son RZA’s birth that his name and birth date were revealed, and newly minted middle child Riot Rose’s name was kept under wraps for a bit over a month.

On Instagram Wednesday, Rihanna shared photos of herself cradling the snoozing infant (the delight is in the details here, Rih is sporting a baby-pink manicure, a gold watch with a pale pink face, and a gold “MOM” ring, plus arm cuffs affixed with oversized pink bows, lest the rosiness of the situation be overlooked), and a pair of teeny tiny, silky blossom pink boxing gloves, ribbons artfully trailing, perhaps an homage to another famous Rocky, the boxer played by Sylvester Stallone. (Some parents just use socks to stop their newborns from accidentally scratching themselves with their tiny fingernails, but Rihanna is, as usual, doing Rihanna stuff. It works.)

Of course, three is a trend, and Rihanna warned in a June red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight that when it comes to her kids, “it’s always going to be an R name. That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over,” she said.

Rocki was following family custom before she even made her debut: Like her big brothers before her, even her impending arrival was announced in showstopping fashion. Rihanna revealed her first pregnancy with a Chanel-bedecked street style photo, and her second pregnancy while performing the halftime show for the Super Bowl 2023. Never one to repeat a schtick, Rihanna debuted her latest bump on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet, making a strong case for the Marc Jacobs maternity corset.

Rocky the elder told Elle in a profile interview, published Wednesday, that he and Rihanna hadn’t known the sex of the baby before birth, but that he had his fingers crossed for a little girl. “I feel like it’s going to be a girl,” he said. “This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it’s a baby girl, man. I need that.”

Baby Rocki’s arrival also brings science and society one step closer to a definitive proof of a Unified Theory of Kardashianism: Kris Jenner revolutionized the alliterative naming convention for future famous siblings, borrowing her own first initial for Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie’s names (sorry, Rob). The most recent famous baby Rocky is also a fruit of that particular genetic loom: Kourtney’s child with husband Travis Barker, Rocky Thirteen Barker, born in November 2023. That Rocky has already made his reality TV debut (albeit with his face obscured) on The Kardashians, portending a possible future in the family business. Will the newest Rocki in the quarry follow suit?

Reps for Rihanna and Rocky did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair’s request for comment, their hands perhaps full with their three kids.

  • Rihanna & A$AP Rocky Welcome Baby #3 – Meet Rocki! | The YBF

    [ad_1]

The newest baby bad gyal has arrived! Rihanna & A$AP Rocky announced they have welcomed their third child together, a sweet baby girl named Rocki Irish Mayers.

Rih revealed she actually gave birth to their brand new addition over a week ago on September 13th. The 37-year-old beauty billionaire, global pop star and star of the latest Smurfs movie shared the baby news along with Rocki’s first pic (above), her pink boxing gloves and her cute name (clearly inspired by her Daddy Rocky) on Wednesday afternoon.

Leave it to the brand new princess to upstage her megastar rapper, actor & fashion killa dad as the 36-year-old made history this week, becoming the first Black man ever to cover Elle magazine.

The Highest 2 Lowest star even dished out dad gems to the mag, talking about the perks of fatherhood and why he “loves this dad thing.”

After 5 years together as a couple and over 12 years as friends, it’s now a party of 5 for Rih and Rocky. Something tells us they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Baby Rocki joins her big brothers – Riot, 2, and Rza, 3 – and we already know she’s about to have Rih and Rakim (ASAP’s real name) wrapped around her ‘r’ing finger as she keeps up the family’s ‘R’ tradition.

BTW, A$AP’s not the only one gracing magazine covers this past week. Rih popped out covering the new issue of HOMME Girls with her “next fashion killa” in her belly:

    Fab!

The birth also comes at the perfect time for the couple – just months after A$AP was acquitted on firearms charges in Los Angeles, in February, and just after his big movie with Spike Lee & Denzel Washington.

They finally got their adorable little gyal. Congrats to the couple!

Before Welcoming Her Baby Girl, Rocki Irish Mayer, Rihanna Spoke On Her Dad’s Passing

Before welcoming her baby girl, Rihanna was dealing with the passing of her father. As The Shade Room previously reported, in May, it was revealed that Ronald Fenty had passed away at the age of 70. Then, in July, photos surfaced of Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and their boys attending Ronald’s funeral in Barbados, per The Shade Room.

Later that month, while appearing at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Smurfs,’ Rih addressed her dad’s passing in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Furthermore, she explained that she had always hoped to see what her dad would have been like as a grandfather.

  • I’m Leaving With Something! Denzel Washington Hilariously Hijacks A$AP Rocky’s Watch Mid-Interview: ‘That Watch Is Gone!’

    [ad_1]

You have to hand it to Denzel Washington… literally, if your bling catches his eye. Our favorite unc brought the unserious shenanigans to a now-viral interview by snatching co-star A$AP Rocky’s watch.

    Source: SAMEER AL-DOUMY / Getty

As the beloved star approaches retirement from acting, he’s making the most of every moment. The Oscar winner didn’t hold back in his “Epic Conversations” interview for GQ with Rocky and their Highest 2 Lowest director Spike Lee.

Denzel Washington Swiftly Swipes A$AP Rocky’s Watch In Viral Moment

The trio of New York City natives reflected on past projects and collaborations, but Unc clearly had something else in mind. A certain accessory must have called to the theater titan like the Green Goblin mask because Washington couldn’t resist it.

Rocky shared his love for Lee’s signature dolly shots in films like He Got Game and Malcolm X. Without skipping a beat, Washington showed his love for nice jewelry by playfully snatching the watch off the “Fashion Killa” star’s wrist.

“Keep talking, keep talking,” the Fences phenomenon said as he reached over to grab Rocky’s arm with the finest finesse.

“Yo! I’m getting robbed by Denzel right now!” Rocky said, busting out laughing.

“That watch is gone, you know that, right?” Lee asked about his longtime friend and collaborator.

“You can take him outta New York, you can’t take the New York out of him, yo. You dig? It looks better on you anyway, OG.” Rocky continued, gracefully going with the flow as Washington quietly put it on his wrist.

Our unbothered unc held up the gold timepiece on his arm and winked into the camera as the conversation continued because… who’s gonna check him? The only real crime is getting forced into a “Who Wore It Best?” competition with a Hall of Fame face card like Denzel Washington.

A few laughs later, Washington returned it to the table next to his co-star. Then he switched from “Othello” to “Deebo” once again as he dapped up Rocky for his upcoming album and palmed the watch in one smooth move.

“I saw you steal that again, but that’s aight,” the soon-to-be father of three mentioned.

“I didn’t steal it! You gave it to me!” Washington laughed.

Despite his distinguished demeanor onscreen, Washington was delightfully joked out throughout the chat.

A$AP Rocky Reveals The Father-Son Dynamic Started Before The Film, Denzel Washington Jokes The Family Resemblance Could Be Real

The “Pretty Flaco” performer recalled always getting comparisons to the Hollywood heartthrob, saying he’d be a “trillionaire” if he got a penny for every time he heard it. “My whole life, like, my mother gassed me up and told me I look like this man,” he said.

“So, Mom, should we tell him?” Washington joked with his seemingly long-lost son.

Even Lee agreed his stars are twinning in his interview with Complex.

Although Washington said he didn’t see the resemblance that got the Bottega Veneta spokesman a “mini” audition for the role, Rocky recalled a fatherly moment with the legend that changed his life.

The “Fashion Killa” artist’s friend and Washington’s son, John David Washington, invited Rocky over for Christmas because he was depressed over the anniversary of his father’s death. Rocky said he was overwhelmed by the big, happy family gathered together and the chance to meet one of his lifelong idols.

Washington channeled the paternal love he needed most, telling Rocky to stop wasting time with things like lean and his situationship at the time. “In a few years, you know you got to get it together. It’s about family,” Rocky said, repeating the life-changing advice.

Clearly, it stuck because Rocky is an adorably devoted partner to Rihanna, head-over-heels in love with their sons RZA and Riot, and eagerly awaiting their third child.

Even while letting it all hang out in a candid conversation, Washington casually drops gems nonstop that remind us why he’s the greatest to ever do it. If the trio is this entertaining in one interview, their new film is undoubtedly a must-see.

  • Fenty Fate: A$AP Rocky Says He ‘Knew When We Were Younger’ That Rihanna Would Be The Mother Of His Kids

Fenty Fate: A$AP Rocky Says He ‘Knew When We Were Younger’ That Rihanna Would Be The Mother Of His Kids

    [ad_1]

Source: Stephane Cardinale – Corbis / Getty

A$AP Rocky opened up about his Fenty-fated relationship with Rihanna in his new cover story for W Magazine, which features exclusive photography by the Bajan beauty. Published on Oct. 8, the rapper and self-proclaimed “Fashion Killa,” shared insights into his love life and experiences as a father to their two children, Rza, 2, and Riot, 1. Throughout the feature, the New York native showcased some incredibly stylish outfits, including a custom Loewe jumpsuit, alongside pieces from Prada and Tiffany & Co.

Rocky Said He Knew Rihanna Would Be The Mother Of His Kids, Recalled How He & Rihanna First Met

    Rocky is head over heels for Rihanna and when asked how he realized the megastar would be the mother of his kids, he gushed to W Magazine;

“I knew from when we were younger. We both did, I think. So it was only right when we got older. We just kind of reconnected.”

The joyful couple initially crossed paths in 2012, building a friendship that lasted for several years before their romance blossomed around 2019 or 2020, according to Rocky’s timeline. Reflecting on their first meeting, the rapper shared that they “locked eyes” outside a nightclub in that same year, where the singer came to his aid when a difficult bouncer denied him, the late Virgil Abloh, and a mutual friend entry.

“I was kicked out of this nightclub. They wasn’t giving me no access to it. This is when I’m just starting out, so nobody knows me,” he shared. “I was with Matthew Williams and Virgil. I was getting into it with the bouncers, and she came out. We just locked eyes. She didn’t even know us, but she was like, ‘Yo! Why y’all not letting him in? What’s wrong with you?! Let that man in!’”

A$AP Rocky Told W Magazine That He Loves Fatherhood

Rocky and Rih have been hooked on each other’s love ever since, taking great pride in the family they’ve created together. The rapper spoke affectionately about his two boys, Rza and Riot – born in 2022 and 2023 respectively – highlighting how, despite their young age, they’ve begun to showcase their own distinct personalities.

“Riot’s an extrovert—he’s just like his mom. Rza is more so like his dad, like me. And he’s my twin. He got his mom’s forehead, but he got everything else from me. I love my boy’s big forehead! I loved it on his mother.” He continued, “I think Rza’s warming up to Riot.”

Rocky is enjoying life as a father and his parenting journey has deeply inspired his forthcoming full-length project Don’t Be Dumb which was slated for release in August, but was pushed back due to sample clearances and leaks according to the rapper’s X post published Aug. 22. Fatherhood has profoundly shaped his perspective on life, influencing his daily routine and even the type of music that resonates with him.

“That sh*t changed my swag,” he added. “I’m such a dad, it’s f**king hilarious. I haven’t been in the gym in weeks. I come home, my kids are already in bed, asleep. I leave, they still asleep. But the sacrifices we make to put out something substantial…”

Awww, we love to see it!

  • Halloween Costumes Inspired By Celebrities

    Halloween Costumes Inspired By Celebrities

    [ad_1]

Now that it’s October, I’m accepting that it’s officially fall. I’m leaning into pumpkin-flavored baked goods, I put out my decor, and I’m rewatching old Disney favorites like Twitches.

But also, this means I have to stress over what costume I’m gonna wear. I actually despise Halloween for the sheer fact that I have to wear a costume. I’m great at dressing up (in designer) not (in costume).

It’s a weeks’ long debate that inevitably ends with me struggling to find a last-minute Halloween costume. I do not wear what everyone else wears, probably because I’m a Leo, so I want my costume to be a little niche.

In the spirit of being less of a procrastinator and more proactive, I’ve committed to choosing what I want to be for Halloween now. Yes, early October, so I can take my time and find what I really want to wear.

However, this isn’t easy. If you go to TikTok, there’s a 50% chance that someone else at the party will be wearing the same thing as you. So, you kind of have to relinquish that dream and embrace it.

If you’re like me and trying to find a good costume a bit early this year…let’s get through this battle together. Whether you need a group costume, something for you and your significant other, or just a solo moment, it’s easy to pick a celeb and copy their style as a costume.

Let’s take a look at some of the best celebrity-inspired Halloween costumes for 2024!

    Travis Kelce

For boys, Travis is an easy option for those with a girlfriend who wants them to dress up. I get how it may feel like you have a gun to your head if you aren’t a Chiefs fan, but this is the easier option compared to others.

To be Trav yourself, you just need a pair of jeans, a jersey or Kelce-related shirt. Literally, that’s it. You know what they say: happy wife, happy life! Bonus points if you grow a mustache in time.

Here are my picks for a Travis Kelce Halloween costume:

    Taylor Swift

And for each Travis, there should be a Taylor. For Swift you can go with many different styles — or should I say eras? — depending on your mood. Which is good news for those who hate wearing the same thing as others and bad news for the people who are bad at making decisions.

If you want to go with something matching your Travis, wear a Taylor Swift gameday outfit. But if you want to go with a Classic Taylor, choose one of her tour looks or something fabulous from her music videos.

This is my favorite Taylor Swift Halloween costume:

    Sabrina Carpenter

I’m warning you now: this will be a popular costume this year. Sabrina’s one of the breakout popstars of the year, and as she’s currently still on her Short n’ Sweet Tour, her star is only growing.

To achieve the best Sabrina Carpenter look, all you need are short skirts and corsets…and no costume would be complete without sky-high platform heels.

Capture that me espresso with this Sabrina Carpenter:

    Barry Keoghan

And you can’t have a Sabrina without her Barry! Saltburnstar Keoghan — alongside heartthrob Jacob Elordi — stole hearts in Emerald Fennel’s film…but his relationship with Sabrina has been all we can talk about lately!

The Irishman is known for wearing his signature tracksuits, while also being a bit of a fashion icon himself. If you don’t want to go too crazy this Halloween, I’d stick to a track jacket.

Another easy look is Barry in the Please, Please, Please video. You can achieve this look with these items:

    Rihanna

Rihanna is iconic. She’s had many memorable fashion moments, including that famous flaming red hair. If you’re in the mood to wear a wig, Rihanna is a terrific option. Plus, it’s a solid way to manifest her next album (I hope).

If you’re pregnant, her Super Bowl halftime performance outfit is a great pick! Even better, if it’s how you’re announcing it! But, if you want to be the Fenty founder for Halloween, here are some easy picks:

    A$AP Rocky

You had to have known this was coming. A$AP is Rihanna’s longtime boo and again, another male fashion icon. The duo serve major looks, which shouldn’t surprise you. But that means your A$AP Rocky costume consists of dressing really nice.

Or, controversially, you could be A$AP Rocky in Lana Del Rey’s “National Anthem” music video. If you think that’s the more fun option, here is how you can steal the look:

    Charli XCX

BRAT Summer to BRAT Fall. While Charli baby rages on tour with Troye Sivan, you can channel your inner BRAT queen this Halloween. Charli’s look is a little similar to Sabrina’s, but also a little less girly, and a little more grunge.

So grab a pleated miniskirt and crop a white tee. The Charli XCX look is actually an extremely comfortable Halloween costume that can be recycled on a later date…because I hate buying a costume and never touching it again.

Here are some BRAT outfits for your BRAT Halloween:

    Hailey Bieber

Would it be a celeb-inspired Halloween costume list without queen Hailey herself? New mom Hailey is such a fashion icon and our ultimate influencer. Without Hailey, we probably wouldn’t give a hoot about Kosas Concealer and we definitely wouldn’t have rhode skin.

She has a bunch of stylish outfits you can replicate — and for far less money than Hailey paid. But this is a super simple Hailey Bieber costume:

    Justin Bieber

And to round out the list, we have The Biebs himself. You knew it was coming. And we’ve seen many phases of Justin Bieber, so picking a costume should be a breeze.

Male or female, Justin Bieber is a popular Halloween costume. I’ve seen girls dress up as “Baby” era Bieber and boys dress up as current Justin. Either way, he’s a terrific celebrity to dress up as— especially if you have a Hailey joining you this All Hallows Eve.

Here is a simple Justin Bieber costume:

Your Weekend Playlist: New Music To Listen To This Friday

    [ad_1]

How is it already August? As we enter the final month of the summer, we’re gearing up for even more new music to come our way. It’s the month of new albums from stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, and more…which means singles will be left and right.

But that’s not all, we’re shifting into the fall releases for new music…and fans are speculating that a certain Taylor Swift will re-release Reputation (Taylor’s Version) very soon. So, there’s a lot to look forward to with the quickest summer ever coming to an end.

And while we’re still in the middle of a heat wave, I’m looking forward to heading to the beach and getting some much-needed vitamin D…but that means I’m going to need a good playlist filled with new music released this week. Luckily for everyone involved, I create a weekly playlist filled with just that!

I find the best of the best when it comes to new songs. I listen to new albums, read through every press release, and search every Spotify playlist for what’s actually worth listening to. Plus, the playlists aren’t terribly lengthy…so it’s a really manageable listen too!

We’ve already wasted enough time here, so I want to get to the point. To enjoy a nice weekend, you need a weekend playlist. Let’s get listening!

Charli XCX, Billie Eilish- “Guess (Remix)”

If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that Charli XCX’s BRAT album inspired our summer. You may have heard about having a BRAT Summer, which includes partying as much as humanly possible and living your life…but Charli isn’t finished teaching us how to be a BRAT. Now, she’s partnered up with an unexpected collab: Billie Eilish.

The remix is sure to be a hit. “Guess” on its own was enough to send Charli into the mainstream, but adding Billie’s flirtatious lyricism to the mix makes it a surefire radio play. It’s both pop and house, which is super timely considering a few popstars are heading to house music. BRAT summer continues, Billie style.

Jessie Murph ft. Teddy Swims- “Dirty”

Two powerhouse vocalists join to create a soulful, cutting breakup anthem about a partner who has cheated on you. It’s every bit as vengeful and catchy as you’d imagine. It fully sums up when you’re done with a partner who’s treated you wrong while showcasing the vocal prowess of Jessie Murph and Teddy Swims.

With two big names in the music industry whose star power continues to grow exponentially, “Dirty” is an exciting development from the pair. Ahead of Jessie Murph’s debut album, this is just the beginning for two rising stars in the industry.

    Gryffin- PULSE

With new album, PULSE, Gryffin goes back to his house roots. He gears up with heavy hitter collaborations like John Newman, Rita Ora, Whethan, and more, all while creating catchy dance tracks that fit perfectly with the summer. An album made to be played on the dancefloor while surrounded by friends and music lovers alike, there’s not one song that’s a skip.

PULSE is a great listen for those who need to start a pregame off the right way. With lots of synths, great beat drops, and strong lyricism, Gryffin continues to blaze his own path in creating pure EDM with his own, fun twist.

    Maren Morris- “Intermission”

Maren Morris has a cathartic, lilting voice that carries through her EP, Intermission. Surprisingly honest, a delight to listen to throughout its entirety…Intermission is a loving, honest submission into Morris’ catalogue. She’s impressive, but we already knew that. And that’s what makes her music so easy to listen to. About the EP, Morris states,

“Here’s my heart journey and gamut of emotions packaged into 5 songs. Covering loss, catharsis, sexuality and gratitude, I hope you hear the light coming back to me in them and somewhere perhaps see it mirrored in you.

    RUFUS DU SOL- “Lately”

“Lately” is the first track from legendary EDM group, RUFUS DU SOL, since 2021 when they released “Music is Better.” Now, three years later, they’re here to remind us what makes them an essential group in music. Their sounds are light, sending you straight to a rooftop in the city somewhere.

A borderline transcendental experience, “Lately” is both calming and upbeat at the same time. Soft in all the right places and explosive in others. If you needed a lesson on how the band can create magic in a song, listen to “Lately.”

    Carlita, SG Lewis- “The Moment”

Carlita is on the verge of her big moment. With her debut album coming in November, Sentimental, and a subsequent leading single with SG Lewis to showcase it, there’s no stopping her. “The Moment” is a thrill from the very start, combining every little skill Carlita has learned along the way of her already illustrious career with SG Lewis’ ability to make any song a hit.

If this gives us a taste of the new album, then we’re in good hands. “The Moment” is everything we’ve been wanting in a song so far.

    David Guetta, AFROJACK- “Raving”

Two titans in the industry: David Guetta and AFROJACK have united to release their highly anticipated new single, “Raving.” The song title is a little self-explanatory, but it makes you want to go rave. It’s fun, and specifically in time for BRAT Summer. We’re loving the hard house music lately, and this track is made by some of the best in the EDM industry.

“Raving” is what we needed to close out the summer: an electric single that gets you moving. It’s a fun track that just keeps getting better as time goes on.

    Sonny Fodera, Jazzy, D.O.D- “Somedays”

Sonny Fodera has already made many hits, but this song proves he can do it time and time again. It’s no shock that his production is borderline seamless and his collaborative efforts are always a success. “Somedays” is no different. It’s fun-filled and captivating, replay worthy even.

Alongside Jazzy and D.O.D, Sonny Fodera pairs vocal talent with bass-heavy beats. A summer anthem without a doubt, “Somedays” will be a great addition to any playlist.

Rihanna Must Have Told A$AP Rocky to Clock In

    [ad_1]

We’ve all seen the video by now — Rihanna’s dancing in a hotel room, singing along with GloRilla’s “TGIF” to a confused-looking A$AP Rocky. “Where my drink at?” is Rocky’s response (his comedic timing is everything — Can he do it all?) “I’m too old for this sh*t.” We probably all resonate with the comments like: “This the closest we going to get to an album,” or “good enough. Put this on Spotify.”

Well, in that video, you might have missed one detail: they’re both wearing American Sabotage. Rihanna’s t-shirt, the camo jacket she’s carrying, the deconstructed suit A$AP’s wearing — they’re all designed by Rocky. The video has been watched over 165 Million times and has over 10.3 Million likes. Talk about free advertising for your brand on the back of its headline-grabbing runway debut.

So while I’m not holding out much hope that Rihanna will in fact make this her return to music, I’m still intrigued by the next cultural contribution from America’s first fashion family. Here’s everything you need to know about American Sabotage and why it’s more than just another celebrity brand. It’s a reflection of Rocky’s own fashion roots and Black culture in general, playing out on the world fashion stage.

    A$AP Rocky’s fashion legacy

In 2013, A$AP Rocky released the song “
Fashion Killa” as a single for the album Long.Live.A$AP. The song is certified Platinum and its sentiment is certified true: A$AP Rocky really is a fashion killer. From headline-grabbing street style to luxury partnerships and his signature braids — cornrows are to Pretty Flacko what that bob is to Anna Wintour — A$AP Rocky has what all the greats have: a distinctive personal style and astonishing taste. He’s not a trend-follower, he’s a trendsetter. And he’s Pretty Flacko, he knows he’ll look good in whatever he wears. While that could be an excuse to do the bare minimum, he takes pride in his appearance and takes as many risks in his fashion as he does as a producer. Clearly, it works out. People have been calling him the male Rihanna for years — no wonder he landed Rihanna herself. When it comes to fashion, they match each other’s freak.

So it’s no surprise that A$AP Rocky — just like Rihanna — has launched a luxury fashion brand. It feels so overdue that I can’t help but wonder if Rihanna is the one who told him to lock in. It’s been years since we got a full Rocky album — he and RiRi also match each other’s freak in keeping fans waiting. He’s been working on ventures like his alcohol label and brand partnerships. But he’s a father and the cost of childcare is high! Rihanna may be a billionaire but these prices aren’t a joke. My bet it that Ms. Fenty told her man to clock into the locked-in factory and even gave him advice on how to start a brand.

After all, she launched her own luxury brand alongside LVMH and her marketing for Savage Fenty is responsible for its reign over Victoria’s Secret. And don’t even get me started on Fenty Beauty and Fentry Skin. When it comes to D2C e-commerce, Rihanna has done
more than enough. She’s changed the game for inclusivity, diversity, and creativity. Now, with American Sabotage, it looks like A$AP Rocky aims to do the same.

What is American Sabotage, aka A$AP Rocky X American Sabotage by AWGE?

Rocky’s been teasing American Sabotage for a while. An extension of his creative agency,
AWGE (if you’ve listened to his music, you’ve heard the intro “it’s AWGE sh*t” blast through your speakers). American Sabotage seemed, at first, like it might just be a merch collection. Some also speculated, or hoped, that it might even have something to do with his forthcoming album. But it seems it’s so much more.

Flacko first teased the collection on stage at Rolling Loud last year. He wore a bulletproof vest — a la BROCKHAMPTON — that read: “Don’t Be Dumb” — something I personally need to hear more often than I like to admit. Turns out, the phrase is more than a reminder to me, specifically. It’s one of the rumored titles of his forthcoming album.

To complete the look, he wore strategically sagged jeans, showing off a stack of layered plaid boxer shorts, a styling hack the LES fashion girlies have already picked up. And if you’re afraid of outfit-repeating, don’t be. Our very own Pretty Flacko wore the same outfit formula at Coachella 2024. The only difference: this time, his bulletproof vest was replaced with an American Saborage logo tees.

This stylish, slow reveal culminated in the brand’s first drop. What we first assumed to be merch turned out to be a preview of a brand way bigger than the “Don’t Be Dumb” tees — although those sold out immediately. Despite the price tag, the boxer-stacked jeans also sold out instantaneously, even though they run buyers $600.

But this wasn’t just a fashion statement, it was a political one. The collection was titled: “Stop the sag,” referencing respectability politics often weaponized against Black people. This is a notable difference from the resurgence of the “old money” style, which glorifies an exclusive aesthetic worn by an exclusive group. Instead, he’s celebrating the parts of Black culture that are often denigrated, while subverting fashion expectations. And despite the pervasiveness of so-called stealth wealth, people are responding.

Call it proof of concept, but the instant frenzy around the quiet drop set the stage for American Sabotage’s blazing debut. A$AP had proved that the people had an appetite for American sabotage — even before they understood its complexity. And now that we have the full picture, we can safely say that he’s coming to change the fashion game and bring back substance in style.

Inside the American Sabotage Runway debut

In 1973, American and French designers held a benefit show “battle” at the
Palace of Versailles for the crown of best designer. Over 50 years later, A$AP Rocky brought the best and worst of American culture back to Paris with the American Savage x AWGE Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection.

With design support from Joshua Jamal, Bede Marchand and Coucou Bebe, American Sabotage is partly Rocky’s own style blended with the collection’s ethos of “ghetto expressionism.” When it came to production, the elaborate set-up was a feast of multimedia details. Guests were treated to the sound of the upcoming A$AP album through the DJ booth, and posters plastered around the wall read “Every US citizen has agreed to be more than happy to be pissed off,” and “Pull up your pants, no one wants to see your underwear.”

The collection featured similar messages of what Rocky describes as “political satire” — one of the phrases emblazoned on his pieces. From NYPD shirts to camo and American Flag prints, the pieces played with American iconography in a way that was both playful and politically biting.

This political commentary isn’t to no end. As with so much of A$AP’s aesthetics — a rapper who has always blended high fashion with echoes of his origins like his cornrows and grills — the show is a message to the fashion elite: Black culture, which is American culture, is more influential, and more complicated than they like to admit.

How fashion and rap music are intrinsically tied together

American Sabotage is notably an expression of rap culture, which is an extension of Black culture. Just look at the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. It proved once and for all that being a rapper is about being embedded in the culture. And as a rapper raised in New York City, A$AP understands the culture.

We take the intersection of rap and fashion for granted these days. And, indeed, rappers and hip-hop culture have always been at the forefront of fashion. They popularized trends that Gen Z are obsessed with today: oversized clothing, oversized jewelry, sneaker culture, sweat suits, and jerseys — just to name a few. But until the early 2010s, rap music was still outside the mainstream.

Rocky was one of the rappers who made a career traversing genres, appearing on songs with Lana Del Rey (if you were on Tumblr in 2012, you remember) and making a name for himself in the mainstream — mostly using fashion.

These days, rappers grace the covers of
Vogue and are front row of the most fabulous fashion shows. For example, London-based rapper (and contender for song of the summer) Central Cee took the spot on the cover of British Vogue’s Music issue this month. For her debut issue, Editor-In-Chief Chioma Nnadi highlighted the connection between fashion and music, and the influence Black culture has on both art forms.

With American Sabotage, A$AP Rocky is making that connection tactile. Some of the most thrilling brands over the past decades have taken cues from hip-hop culture. Virgil Abloh’s Off-White brought hypebeast and streetwear fashion to the world stage, before embedding those influences into Louis Vuitton. Now, rapper Pharell is at the helm of Vuitton as its creative director. Rihanna herself has a fashion line with the biggest luxury fashion company in the world. Young rappers like Tyler, The Creator and Lil Nas X are known for their red-carpet looks. And even though Kanye West has since lost his deal with Adidas (and his mind), his impact on converging fashion and hip-hop cannot be overstated.

Even the best, most ferocious rappers are embedded in the fashion game. Kendrick Lamar is on a tear this summer — not just coming for Drake’s neck, but serving Pinterest-worthy looks while he does it. After rapping “I hate the way that you dress,” on his red-hot “Euphoria” track, he went on to prove that fashion is another way that he’s superior to the Canadian pop star. He wore a cropped The Row hoodie to his Pop Out show in LA, and wore Martine Rose and other fashion favorite brands in his “Not Like Us” video. Every rapper is a fashion girl at heart, it seems.

In a time where rap and fashion are so intertwined, it’s easy to take A$AP Rocky’s fashionista status for granted. But he’s not new to the fashion game, he’s
true to it. “I’m the godfather of what we now call art and fashion,” he told GQ. “Taking streetwear, taking luxury, blending them, mending them, matching them together. Taking skatewear, taking hoodwear brands and urban clothes and infusing them all together, that wasn’t really done.”

Because Rocky is so native to the fashion world, his designs for American Sabotage don’t feel derivative. They’re refreshing, they’re true to his personal style, and they’re reflective of his roots.

    American Sabotage and Black Culture

I used to live in Harlem, right next to where A$AP Rocky grew up. I know this because in our local flower shop, bodega, and other neighborhood establishments, you can find framed photos of him shaking hands with the owners. I once stepped out and saw him filming his music video for “Praise The Lord” in my neighborhood (true story). This is to say, he reps the block and hasn’t forgotten where he came from. And that Harlem has influenced everything from his sound to his style.

Harlem is home to Dapper Dan, the progenitor of logomania. It was the site of the largest Black Cultural movements, the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movement. And it’s an endless source of inspiration for Rocky.

    When
GQ asked about his collection before of the Paris show, he linked it directly to the American social climate. “It’s just me trying to encapsulate just all of my experiences, everything that I’ve learned, everything I’ve experienced about the social issues and the social climate of America,” he said. “I think fashion is an expression. It’s to express how you feel. This is no different. I think each great creative director, designer, artists, they always have that fine balance between conceptualization and manifestation.”

By blending together his experience with high fashion and his original inspirations, he’s created something vibrant, political, and unique to the Fashion Killa himself.

    A$AP Rocky is clocked in

Needless to say, Flacko is clocked in. Part of me thinks Rihanna must have told him to lock in — like I said, those childcare bills ain’t cheap. That’s why he seemed so stressed in that Paris hotel room video. He’s been putting in long days at the office. But the hard work paid off with the critically acclaimed and culturally significant debut.

But the successful launch of his brand doesn’t mean Rocky is swearing off other brands completely. He recently teamed up with iconic Black artist Carrie Mae Weems for Bottega Veneta’s Father’s Day campaign.

He also unveiled a recent campaign with Puma.

These days, Rocky’s like Ryan Reynolds with the income streams. We can only hope that the rest of us get to hear his album soon, even if we never hear Rihanna’s.

A$AP Rocky and Pedro Pascal Just Debuted Gucci’s New Menswear

    [ad_1]

It turns out we didn’t have to wait until January to see Sabato De Sarno’s first looks for Gucci menswear. Last night, the new creative director, tapped earlier this year to implement a wholesale creative reset at the Italian house, hit the red carpet at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles. A$AP Rocky, Pedro Pascal, Andrew Garfield, and Elliot Page joined him, wearing what a press release described as De Sarno’s “first steps into formal menswear” for Gucci.

Welcome to the De Sarno era. The glammed-out baroque flourishes that defined his predecessor Alessandro Michele’s formalwear are out. In? A confident sense of subtlety—and some heavy-duty footwear.

Pedro Pascal with his sister, Lux Pascal

    Stefanie Keenan/Getty Images

De Sarno’s womenswear debut, in September, revealed that the Prada and Valentino alum works in understated cool rather than eccentricity. Which is exactly how Rocky looked in his simple black double-breasted tuxedo. De Sarno is clearly obsessed with the finer points of fit and line—this is a man who reportedly has a collection of some 200 coats. On Rocky, he’s reviving the straight-cut Italian suits of the ’90s, according to the press release. The jacket has square shoulders, trim through the waist. His trousers, with a whisper of a slouch, have a comfortable break at the hem. The only remotely flashy part of the outfit is a brassy “Double G” logo button, pulled out of the archive from the ’70s, when such buttons could be found all over Gucci accessories. For his first hints of menswear, De Sarno gave us exactly that—hints, not fireworks.

Of course, in 2023, red carpets demand a certain look-at-me quality. On Pascal and Garfield, De Sarno showed off a slightly flashier side to his men’s designs. Pascal’s sleek black tuxedo has white piping, the buttons hidden behind the flat front, the lapels cut high over his bare chest. Is this another reference to the ’90s? The skimpy and leather-heavy bits of De Sarno’s women’s collection echoed the hedonist world Tom Ford’s created at Gucci in that decade, and Pascal’s tux, with its glossy sheen and pajama trim, feels of a piece with Ford’s louche—and newly relevant—vision. As does Garfield’s suit, a single-breasted version of the piped tuxedo, cut in the deep maroon of “Rosso Ancora,” the new Gucci house color.

  • A$AP Rocky Is Puma’s New Formula 1 Creative Guru

A$AP Rocky Is Puma’s New Formula 1 Creative Guru

    [ad_1]

Back in May, Puma announced that it had signed a multi-year licensing deal to exclusively produce and sell Formula 1 apparel at all races. Which is a big job. So, they got a big name to steer it: A$AP Rocky.

Rocky has been unveiled as the creative director of the Puma and Formula 1 partnership, and he will work closely with Puma chief executive Arne Freundt. As the partnership kicks off, that means a series of capsule collections that will be released throughout the 2024 race calendar—and, according to Puma, Rocky is already “in the lab” for a debut in Miami. “Working with brands as iconic as Puma, and as innovative as F1, has been truly inspiring,” Rocky said in an official press release. “When the world sees what we’re doing, I believe a shift will happen with how brands approach taking risks and working with diverse creatives.”

So far, not much has been unveiled about what A$AP Rocky has in store for Puma and the F1, but in a batch of teaser images announcing the partnership, you can already sort of get a taste of what’s to come. Racing gloves imprinted with Puma’s recognizable motif, lacy balaclavas featuring Puma and F1 branding on the chin, and oversized quilted jackets doused in luminous green. In one shot there’s a beaded balaclava, while in another, Rocky wears jeans that come emblazoned with Puma graphics on the crotch.

This isn’t Rocky’s first design gig, nor is it his first venture into fashion. Not only is he a proper fashion boy who gets down with big Bottega Veneta suits and one-off Gucci pieces, he’s also co-designed collections with JW Anderson, Marine Serre and Guess Originals. It’s not that surprising Puma’s on the books now, either. His partner Rihanna has her own creative director position at the brand, which has seen her design two collections of Fenty-branded footwear.

Rocky’s first capsule collection will drop in the coming weeks—and Formula 1 will continue its journey to becoming one of the coolest sports on the planet.

This story originally appeared on British GQ with the title “Just like Rihanna, A$AP Rocky’s got a new gig at Puma”

More Details Regarding Rihanna’s Alleged Upcoming Tour & New Music

According to a report published by Mirror on Saturday, an anonymous source claims Rihanna will embark on a “comeback tour” between 2024 and 2025.

“Rihanna is quietly planning a comeback tour after signing with Live Nation. The deal was created to facilitate a world tour and her creative team is quietly at work in Los Angeles putting it all together as she raises her family,” an insider for Mirror reportedly explained. “She’ll press play on the live show once she’s ready to go back to work and has two albums’ worth of material to release once she’s back.”

At this time, Live Nation has not publicly confirmed speculation of Rihanna’s “comeback tour.” The company’s website profile for the singer currently states that the artist has “no upcoming events.”

    Social Media Reacts

Of course, media speculation only enflamed social media’s excitement for Rihanna’s potential return to music. Rihanna’s last music release, “Lift Me Up,” was featured on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack almost a year ago. Prior to this, the last time the 35-year-old made a major return to the stage was when she revealed that she was pregnant with her second child during the Super Bowl halftime performance in February 2022.

U.K.’s Mirror reports that the mom of two and her team are busy at work as they prepare and plan for a huge comeback tour for the 2024/2025 calendar year after striking a deal worth £32million in partnership with Live Nation.

Not only that but according to an insider, Queen RiRi already has two albums sitting in the vault ready to be released.

    The source told The Mirror;

“Rihanna is quietly planning a comeback tour after signing with Live Nation. The deal was created to facilitate a world tour and her creative team is quietly at work in Los Angeles putting it all together as she raises her family. She’ll press play on the live show once she’s ready to go back to work and has two albums’ worth of material to release once she’s back.”

This is extremely exciting news for Rihanna’s Navy, as her last album was released seven years ago in 2016!

Sis might not have been putting out music but she has been busy working on business ventures, producing multi-million dollar companies, and growing her loving family. She and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky are parents to baby boy RZA and welcomed their second son, Riot Rose, in August of this year.

The last time Rihanna hit the stage was during her February Super Bowl halftime show where she revealed that she was expecting baby no. 2.

We have high hopes for the once-in-a-lifetime tour because we know that anything Rihanna touches is gold. The proof is in the pudding as it was revealed that remakes of  Rihanna’s $2,900 Super Bowl jumpsuit were released by Loewe and sold out within 24 hours.

“The cargo jumpsuit and trousers feature a range of utility details drawing upon flight gear and the halftime show’s dynamic scenography,” the company said in its social media post.

PEOPLE reports that some of its features include removable D-ring straps at the knees, an elasticated belt and zipped jet pockets at the front. The jumpsuit is described as having a “relaxed fit” with straight-legged pants and is of “regular length.”

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Chose Another R-Name for Second Baby

    [ad_1]

Second kids are a blast. Those first-time-parent jitters are a thing of the past, and you can think about relaxing a little. There’s less hand-wringing over when to introduce a pacifier, less obsessive logging of length, quality, and general vibe of naps and diaper changes in a specialized, pastel-colored baby app. You might even, maybe, as a second-time parent, allow the world to know your child’s name before they’re 11 months old.

Meet Riot Rose Mayers, second son of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Per a birth certificate obtained by The Blast, the infant was born bright and early at 7:41 a.m. on August 1, 2023, at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

We’re getting details about the newborn far earlier than the couple’s first child: Big brother RZA Athelson Mayers’ name was only revealed in May, just two days shy of his first birthday.

But then of course, baby Riot (whose name follows the family’s R trend, and may or may not be a nod to dad Rocky’s recent track “Riot”) made a splashy pre-birth public debut as well, when Rihanna revealed her baby bump while performing at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Given this accelerated timeline of reveals, Rihanna will drop the sequel to her “rub on ya titties” maternity shoot any day now.

  • Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Baby Name Is Finally Revealed

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Baby Name Is Finally Revealed

    [ad_1]

Nearly a year after his birth, the name of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s first child has finally been revealed. RZA Athelston Mayers will celebrate his first birthday on May 13 and has definitely had a cooler life in these first 363 days than most of us ever will.

The Daily Mail obtained a copy of little RZA’s birth certificate, which not only shows that the world’s coolest baby is named after Wu-Tang Clan member RZA and his dad, who also has the middle name Athelston, but that he’s a Taurus with Leo rising. It seems only fitting that cosmically speaking, this kid is destined to be ambitious and hardworking, but the magnetic center of attention in any room that he’s in.

Little RZA’s name appears to be following a paternal family tradition: Rocky’s legal first name is Rakim, in honor of the rapper Rakim. In 2019, Rakim told Hot 97 about signing a baby Rocky’s diaper in Harlem after his mom spotted Rakim and told him the baby’s name. “I remember that day because that’s the first time I remember hearing somebody naming their son after me,” he said.

Fans had previously speculated that Rihanna and Rocky’s son, last spotted hanging out with his parents before their fashionably (very) late entrance to the Met Gala in New York City earlier this month, was named Noah. Not quite!

RZA’s birth name is Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, and his legacy is impressive: Beyond producing most of the Wu-Tang Clan’s records, he’s director of the martial arts movie The Man with the Iron Fists, deliverer of a legendary diss on pharma bro Martin Shkreli, composer of ice cream truck jingles for the modern era, and patron saint of Staten Island, with a boozy movie theater as his temple, among other accomplishments.

While Rih and Rocky haven’t revealed when their second child (who, as a reminder, has already been to the Oscars, Super Bowl, and Met Gala in utero, with the Super Bowl serving as the pregnancy reveal) is due, we’ll have to wait and see if they continue the namesake trend. Check back in, oh, two to three years for Kid 2’s name.

Vanity Fair reached out to representatives for Rihanna and RZA (the elder, not the baby) for comment.

Talk about epic reveals. During Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show, Rihanna subtly gave away that she’s pregnant with her second child.

A representative for the Grammy Award-winning singer confirmed the news shortly after Rihanna’s performance — and visible baby bump — stirred mass speculation online.

Rihanna, the first pregnant woman to star in a Super Bowl halftime show, is expecting her second child with partner A$AP Rocky. The pair had their first child together in May 2022.

From the elevated Super Bowl stage, Rihanna — dressed in a bright red, mostly unzipped jumpsuit layered over a skin-tight bodysuit — cradled her stomach between choreography. Dancers wearing white ski-style suits and shaded goggles had their own suspended platforms that moved in concert with hers.

There were also none of the constant costume changes and scene shifts from previous years. The theme — and the colour scheme — stayed the same throughout the 13-minute show, with red lights bathing the stage at times and golden fireworks exploding in the air above her.

Rocky was also present at the game and was seen dancing to Rihanna’s performance from the sidelines.

In an earlier promotional interview for her Super Bowl performance, Rihanna told CBS’s Nate Burleson that she had a surprise planned for her halftime show.

“I’m thinking of bringing someone. I’m not sure, but we’ll see,” she said.

Rihanna was three months postpartum when she accepted the Super Bowl halftime show contract. She told The Hollywood Reporter that she wanted her son to witness the performance.

“When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything. And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she said. “It’s important for my son to see that.”

  • Rihanna Gets Through the Halftime Show

Rihanna Gets Through the Halftime Show

    [ad_1]

For those wondering if Rihanna “ate” at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the expression feels especially pointed considering most were curious as to whether Ri was sporting a food baby or an actual one inside her stomach as she materialized on a platform suspended in midair to deliver her first “live” performance since the 2018 Grammy Awards, where she was obviously able to move much more lithely as she cameo’d onstage for DJ Khaled’s rendition of “Wild Thoughts.” Back then, she was feeling an all-pink look—specifically an Adam Selman dress with 275,000 crystals sewn in and a complementing flower placed behind her ear. For this year’s unexpected reemergence, the color of choice was period red, as it has been for quite a few lately. Namely, Doja Cat at the Schiaparelli show during Paris Fashion Week and Sam Smith and Kim Petras during their Grammys appearance (you know, the one that allowed Madonna to cause such an uproar).

From the moment Rihanna “arrived,” it was clear she was making no attempt to foil the public’s speculation by not only rubbing her belly “nurturingly,” but also accentuating the bump with a red Loewe jumpsuit zipped down to just below her stomach, allowing it to better protrude with a form-fitting red bodysuit underneath—capped off by a red bra plate. It was decidedly “apocalypse chic.” And, no doubt, Rihanna might be raising both of her children in just that type of climate… not that it will much matter to a billionaire who can better “shield” her spawns from most people’s reality. In that rich person’s vein, Rihanna opted to open the show with “Bitch Better Have My Money,” which all of her fans have responded to in the affirmative by continuing to support her non-musical endeavors in the form of Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.

Interpolations of “Phresh Out the Runway” briefly punctuated Rihanna pantomiming the “dirt off her shoulders” move as she then segued into “Where Have You Been” from 2011’s Talk That Talk intermixed with hints of “Cockiness (Love It)” from the same album. A.k.a. the song that has an A$AP Rocky remix featuring such increasingly canceled lyrics as, “Tell RiRi I go re-retarded on the remix” and “Cuckoo for your cocoa/Your flying fish is my favorite dish.” Sticking with the sonic theme of the Calvin Harris-oriented dance sound of the 2010s that solidified Rihanna as a reigning queen of the charts, she then transitioned into “Only Girl (In the World).” Which at least wasn’t co-produced by Dr. Luke (like “Where Have You Been” was, among other tracks on Talk That Talk). But Rihanna couldn’t stay away from Talk That Talk too long as she went back to said album to perform its seminal single, “We Found Love,” as fireworks burst forth from the, um, State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. And yes, it feels slightly like a troll on Rihanna’s part to say, “We found love in a hopeless place” at a football game. With hints of “S&M” thrown in, there was a moment where Rihanna let the microphone fall away from her mouth and cease to bother “hiding” that certain portions were lip synced with as little care as she “hid” her baby bump. But this is a maneuver she’s no stranger to, having also noticeably done it during a medley of her songs at the 2016 MTV VMAs (of which this performance slightly echoes, in addition to coming across like another Savage X Fenty fashion show clip).

It was throughout “We Found Love” that Rihanna employed the use of her eighty backup dancers for optimal effect, mimicking something out of the Never Been Kissed playbook when The Denominators, led by Aldys (Leelee Sobieski), show up to the prom in white jumpsuits as double helix DNA (the prom theme being “Made for Each Other”). While the dancers go all in on the choereo as a “Rude Boy” remix then plays, the camera eventually moves through them to reveal Rihanna lip syncing the signature line, “Come here rude boy boy, is you big enough?” A$AP has clearly answered in the confirmatory based on the presence of bébé numéro deux. A quick mention of “kiss it better” and Rihanna keeps the TikTok attention span pacing consistent as she subsequently offers up 2016’s “Work” (which Drake likely watched with a tear in his eye), the lead single from her last album, ANTI. “Wild Thoughts” followed as Rihanna taunted, “I don’t know if you could take it/I know you wanna see me nakey, nakey, naked.” A line that felt tongue-in-cheek in its goading nature… considering how clothed she was and how few people want to see a pregnant woman naked unless they have some kind of fetish. She then walks the runway flanked by her dancers while they actually dance as she takes it relatively easy. This isn’t shaming Rihanna (the only thing she should be ashamed of here is reneging on her original stance about the NFL) for knowing her limitations while pregnant, so much as a confirmation of her need to lean even further on the available “diversion” smokescreens of a live performance that lend it more flair than there actually is. This being more pronounced because she couldn’t participate as much in her condition.

After “Wild Thoughts,” Rihanna gave a brief snippet of “Birthday Cake” (because, again, she clearly favors Talk That Talk) before leading the audience into “Pour It Up,” the non-kid-friendly track that reinforces, among other damaging messages of pro-capitalism, “All I see is dollars signs” and “Money make the world go ‘round.” Once upon a time, Ye knew that was true as well—before he blew it all up for the sake of going on one too many anti-Semitic rants. Although presently invisible to the likes Jay-Z (who, surprisingly, did not join Ri onstage at any point for “Run This Town”), Rihanna is no stranger to legitimizing controversial people, as she recently did with Johnny Depp for the Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 fashion show. That said, she felt obliged to throw in something of a non sequitur track after “Pour It Up”: “All of the Lights.” Which was not a Rihanna song, but a Kanye one from 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy featuring Kid Cudi and the Super Bowl headliner in question. It seemed like a “dog whistling” way to pay homage to Ye, as though she was saying, “I know you’re still out there.”

That message persisted when she transitioned into “Run This Town,” a Jay-Z song from 2009 that featured, of course, Rihanna and, you guessed it, Kanye. At the time, Jay had proudly declared of the song’s title, “We basically run this town. It’s myself, Rihanna and Kanye. It’s pretty much it.” In the present, it’s clear that neither of the three do (Rihanna making that apparent with this ultimately “phoning it in” performance, complete with “flexing” by briefly stopping to reapply some makeup from her own line). What’s more, Rihanna couldn’t help but come across as though she was ripping off Jay-Z’s wife with the pregnancy serve, for, like Beyoncé at the 2011 MTV VMAs alluding to her “with child” status by announcing at the beginning of “Love On Top,” “I want you to feel the love that’s growin’ inside of me,” Rihanna “unwittingly” gave new meaning to her lyrics from “Diamonds” (preceded by the penultimate track, “Umbrella”) at the end of the show. For instead of saying, “I saw the life inside your eyes,” she sort of just incoherently trails off after “inside.” And yes, the entire audience saw the life inside of her while she performed somewhat lifelessly (despite the expected ass-licking accolades from various media outlets that remind one of the age-old Ambular query: “Hello? Am I the only one who thought it reeked?”). And one does question how much she values the life inside if she was willing to perform on a precarious, visibly teetering platform raised, at times, sixty feet in the air. Then again, breaking a contractual obligation with the NFL sounds far more dangerous.

Additionally, it was also in the spirit of Beyoncé, who relied on the bells and whistles of a lot of backup behind her at the VMA performance where she made her pregnancy public, that Rihanna enlisted the scores of dancers dressed in white, hazmat-esque jumpsuits to do more of the heavy lifting that her own body oughtn’t be doing at this time. The illusion of “fanfare” was also added to by the constantly moving, suspended-in-the-air platforms that were an innovative technique designed to minimize “alterations” to the stadium’s grass. So no, it wasn’t about creativity, so much as practicality and serving the God of Football.

Thus, what Rihanna did for the Halftime Show, in essence, was act like a billionaire, delegating most of the responsibility to others (manifest during a moment when she stands in front of all her agilely gyrating dancers during “Work” in the “overseeing pose”) to make the final product appear as though she had “carried it off.” Which is all the performance did: “passed.” As such, there was nothing truly memorable about the show other than Rihanna’s reliance on the “party trick” of happening to be pregnant at the same time the event coincided.

Rihanna had her biggest fan in the audience as she took the stage during the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday. During the performance — where the Oscar-nominated singer showed off her baby bump in a custom Alia jacket and gloves combo — the A$AP Rocky was on the sidelines cheering her on.

In clips shared by the official NFL Twitter account, the “Goldie” rapper proudly holds up his phone flashlight during his girlfriend’s performance.

The rapper’s jacket was a nod to his woman, as it was embellished with the iconic image she used to announce that she would take the stage during Sunday’s show. Rihanna had another special guest in the crowd. Ahead of her performance, her brother Rorrey declared Super Bowl LVII “the Rihanna concert.”

It was a big night for the couple, who welcomed their first child in May. During her comeback performance, the 34-year-old singer rubbed her belly — leaving fans to speculate if she was taking the stage with a special guest — baby number 2.

Shortly after the performance, ET confirmed that Rihanna and Rocky are expecting their second child.

Rihanna’s Apple Music halftime show marked her return to the stage — following the birth of her son, and since her performance at the 2018 GRAMMYs.

During her performance, the singer performed a medley of hits including, “Umbrella,” “Wild Thoughts,” and “Diamonds.” As she took the stage alongside her dancers, Rihanna touched her belly in between sets of the 29-minute set.

Last week, a source revealed how A$AP supported his love, ahead of her big day.

“A$AP has been very supportive throughout her preparation and has really been stepping up his parenting game while she has been busy with rehearsals,” the source said, adding, “[A$AP] and her son plan to be there supporting her during her big day.”
