    The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver was found in nearby bushes after a hit-and-run crash in Brevard County.Troopers responded to the crash involving a Toyota Corolla and a semitruck along I-95 in Titusville just before 2 a.m. Sunday.Troopers said the 32-year-old driver of the Corolla was located in the bushes across from his car.The driver, along with a 23-year-old passenger, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.The driver of the semitruck was unharmed, and the crash remains under investigation.Troopers said charges are pending against the driver of the Corolla.

    Three people are dead after a wrong-way driver caused a major crash on I-95 in Brevard County on Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened around 3:50 a.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes of I-95 near Wickham Road in Melbourne.FHP said a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it crashed head-on into a Chevrolet Impala traveling north. Six other vehicles ended up involved in the crash due to a chain reaction from that initial crash.The wrong-way driver as well as the driver and passenger in the Impala were pronounced dead at the crash scene, according to FHP.All northbound lanes of I-95 are closed in Brevard County, between Exit 188 for the Pineda Causeway and Exit 191 for Wickham Road, as of 11:30 a.m. Sunday.Northbound traffic is being detoured onto the Pineda Causeway to then travel east to Wickham Road, turn left (north) on Wickham Road and continue on Wickham Road for several miles to re-enter I-95 northbound. Our crews captured the extent of the damage with multiple mangled cars, scattered debris, and dozens of FHP troopers lining the highway.We will provide updates when the roadway reopens.Investigators have not releases the identities of those killed, but say the crash remains under investigation.

    Boy killed and grandmother injured in Gardena hit-and-run accident

    A 5-year-old boy was killed and his grandmother was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Gardena.

    The boy, identified as Patrick Chacon of Gardena, and his grandmother were walking in the crosswalk at Marine and Budlong avenues at 10:30 a.m. Sunday when they were struck by a car. The driver fled the scene, according to police.

    “Upon arrival, officers found two pedestrians on the roadway,” police said in a statement.

    Patrick died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner said. His grandmother was hospitalized.

    Mourners created a memorial at the intersection to commemorate Patrick.

    Earlier in the day, another pedestrian had been killed in Gardena just under two miles away.

    A female driver hit and killed the pedestrian at 4 a.m. at Vermont Avenue and El Segundo Boulevard, according to police. The driver stayed on the scene.

    Caltrans is planning overnight closures of a section of the 110 freeway near downtown L.A. to allow crews to safely demolish a defunct pedestrian bridge.

    From 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday, Caltrans will close three of the four southbound lanes of the 110 Freeway between the 10 Freeway interchange and Exposition Boulevard, according to the agency. All southbound onramps on the 110 and all eastbound and westbound connectors from the 10 Freeway will also be closed.

    From 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday, a section of the 110 Freeway will be closed in both directions: On the southbound side from the 10 Freeway interchange to Exposition Boulevard and, on the northbound side, from Adams Boulevard to Washington Boulevard.

    These closures will allow crews to demolish the pedestrian bridge over the 110 at 21st Street.

    In addition, the southbound off-ramp to Adams Boulevard will be closed all weekend, starting as early as 7 p.m. Friday and continuing through 8 p.m. Sunday.

    Motoroists are advised to avoid the area by taking an alternative route or by using public transit. Southbound traffic on the 110 will be detoured to exit at the 10 Freeway interchange and reenter the 110 at either Exposition Boulevard or Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Northbound traffic will exit at Adams Boulevard and either reenter the freeway at Washington Boulevard or access the 10 via Hoover Street.
