  • Everyone’s A Star! Because 5SOS Is Back With A New Album

After the success of 5SOS5 in 2022, 5 Seconds of Summer are finally back with a brand new song called ‘NOT OK,’ and let us tell you it’s a certified bop. The song will be part of 5SOS’s new album, EVERYONE’S A STAR!, and they even got a record deal with Republic Records.

We never imagined 5SOS would make a 2025 comeback. When 5SOS said “soon,” we thought they were joking, but this time, they meant it. After three years away, 5 Seconds Of Summer are back—and we are “NOT OK” about it.

It’s Official – The Greatest Boyband In History Are Returning!

It all started last week, when posters around the world stated that “our favorite back is back.” Of course, 5SOS got to work; days later, we got the announcement of a new era, including its colors, bright pink and orange. On Thursday, September 13, the band announced their upcoming album, called EVERYONE’S A STAR! With a cover of Calum, Michael, Luke, and Ashton with bubbly heads. The lead single, ‘NOT OK,’ was released on September 14, followed by a live gig, an ocean of pink shirts, and a pink limo! How cool is that?

The song presents a completely new vibe for the band. Drawing influences from early 2000s Gorillaz and bands like NEED and The Prodigy, 5SOS made a song that felt authentic, bold, and challenging. Think 5SOS in 2014 but with steroids, a great hyped-up drumline, and the feeling of being pumped by energy. Of course, we have to talk about the aesthetics of the era, because they made Y2K meet Vivienne Westwood with their outfits!

After hearing the song live, we are sure that this song is about to be great on tour with the fans on the pitch jumping. The band also performed a couple of songs that will be on the album. We at The Honey Pop are already the #1 fan of ‘Boyband.’

    12 Brand New Songs!

The album will be released on November 14th under Republic Records. Also, it was produced by Jason Evigan, Julian Bunneta, and John Ryan, who you may know for working with Sabrina Carpenter! It promises to feature punk, pop, and rock songs with early 2000s vibes, and we already know how the first five songs sound. If you haven’t heard them, let us tell you, we love the new sound. Here is the track list of 5SOS’s new album EVERYONE’S A STAR! :

  • 4 New Rules Songs Your Playlist Needs

If there’s one thing about us here at The Honey Pop, it’s that we LOVE our artists with accents. One Direction, 5SOS, The Academic, Yungblud, the list goes on and on! The list, however, would NOT be complete without New Rules. If you’re new to the group, or if you’re a long-time fan, we are here to give you the top four New Rules songs that you NEED to add to your playlist. Buckle up, rule number one for New Rules is you must be prepared for every emotion imaginable.

    ‘Really Wanna Dance With You’

This song is giving hopeless romance in the cheesiest way possible. It’s about seeing someone across the room and debating how to approach them, but overthinking it. Let’s be honest – we’ve all been there. In the verses and the music video, however, it works out! Add this song to give you the luck and confidence you may need the next time you “really wanna” dance with someone.

“And my shoes stuck to the floor

And the bell rang for last call.”

    ‘Drunk Texts’

We are going to drop the mood a bit for this one, so be ready to stare out of the window and pretend you are in a movie. Between the soft guitar and the harmonies, this song hits us directly in the chest, and when the lyrics are added, that feeling increases tenfold. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of losing someone and having no idea where you went wrong, but only knowing that you miss the person deeply. If you are a fan of Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi, and crying, this song is the perfect addition to your playlist. (We are giving you the acoustic version to hit even harder <3)

    “I die a hundred times

    Anytime I see your face”

    ‘Go The Distance’

Long-distance has to be one of the most difficult hurdles some people have to jump in a relationship. This song addresses that topic, but manages to maintain a hopeful tone with upbeat instrumentals that encourage listeners to dance. If you have a soft spot for ‘Beside You’ by 5 Seconds of Summer, this song follows a very similar theme! We highly recommend ‘Go The Distance’ to go on your road trip playlist! This is for sure one of the most bittersweet New Rules songs to exist.

“Wherever you are, I won’t let you go

    We’ll go the distance”

    ‘ONE LESS WORRY’

Break-ups are never easy. ‘ONE LESS WORRY’ takes this and tries to find the positive in the negative. It talks about losing someone, but also losing the need to always worry about them. It goes back and forth between the pros and cons of no longer having to worry about that person. This highlights how recovering from a breakup is far from linear. It’s a beautiful piece that would be a good addition to any playlist (especially if it’s a playlist containing some stellar vocals!)

“And sometimes I don’t miss you

But I really have to try”

These four New Rules songs can fit into almost any playlist. They can even make a playlist of their own, as when played in order, they tell a story from falling in love to breaking up. Let us know what your other favorite New Rules songs are @TheHoneyPop!

  • 5 Rising Artists You Need To Start Stanning This Fall

5 Rising Artists You Need To Start Stanning This Fall

As fall approaches, it’s time to refresh your playlists with some of the most exciting rising artists in the music scene. Whether you’re into heartfelt lyricism, edgy pop-punk vibes, or genre-defying sounds, these five artists will surely become your next obsessions. From singer-songwriters capturing the pain of young love to independent artists breaking boundaries with their unique style, these musicians are making waves. Get ready to keep your eye on these artists—before they inevitably blow up. Here are 5 rising artists you need to start stanning this fall!

    Lexi Jayde

For fans of Gracie Abrams and Lizzy McAlpine, Lexi Jayde is your next favorite artist. She’s already made a stellar debut with her EP Closer to Closure. Her single ‘drunk text me’ has wracked up almost 1,000,000 plays on Spotify. Her blossoming success has led to live shows at The Troubadour in LA and Baby’s Alright in Brooklyn. Before Lexi Jayde’s sophomore project inevitably blows up, get on board – it’ll be worth it.

    Brynn Cartelli

Brynn Cartelli is primed to be the next big singer-songwriter pop star. She finds her niche in cinematic, lyrically, heart-tugging acoustic-pop, meeting and dare I say, even sometimes exceeding the precedent set by hits like Olivia Rodrigo‘s ‘drivers license‘ and Gracie Abrams‘s ‘Mess It Up.’ Now five years out from winning Season 14 of The Voice at only fifteen years old, Brynn Cartelli has already proved that she has enough vocal talent to succeed on that alone. Cartelli released her debut album Out of the Blue in March of 2024, with many of the album’s fourteen tracks self-written by Cartelli. Out of the Blue proves that she also shines as a lyricist, romanticizing the growing pains of young love and yearning for self-acceptance with the finesse and sophistication of a well-seasoned virtuoso.

    Del Water Gap

Probably the biggest name on this list is Del Water Gap, the stage name for S. Holden Jaffe. He spent the summer opening for Niall Horan. He works with producer Sammy Witte (who you may know as the producer behind hits from Harry Styles, Luke Hemmings, Halsey, SZA – just to name a few). His first two albums are alt-pop gold. His finsta, @horsewithbowlcut, is chock full of hilarious memes of himself. Get on the Del Water Gap train now because when DWG3 is inevitably released, he’s going to be a massive star.

    Almondmilkhunni

Almondmilkhunni fearlessly dropped her record label and went independent after her debut self-titled 2020 EP. Now, she’s truly hit the sweet spot in creating a conceptual project that’s the perfect balance of fun and introspective with her sophomore project ENJOY THE RIDE. From her quirky, LA girly social media feed, to her great respect for fans, and her teasing of live shows and potentially ENJOY THE RIDE PT.2 in the foreseeable future, Almondmilkhunni is an artist to watch. She takes the it-girl cool and out-of-this-world dance-pop style of artists like Charli XCX and Tinashe and lends her air of lighthearted vulnerability and charming softness.

    Charlotte Sands

Charlotte Sands has steadily gained recognition since her first release in 2018. Including a particular track that Harry Styles’ VOGUE cover may have inspired. With her her debut LP can we start over? released in January of 2024, Sands has now fully arrived as a powerhouse in the music scene. For fans of female rockstars who appreciate the vocal prowess of Kelly Clarkson or the pop-punk energy of Avril Lavigne, but may find Olivia Rodrigo a bit too youthful—Charlotte Sands is the perfect fit. She spent last year supporting pop-rock bands PVRIS and 5 Seconds of Summer. She also brought her first headlining tour international this spring, wowing audiences from New York to Sydney. With her stunning blue hair and down-to-earth sense of humor, she’s cool, she’s talented, and she’s diehard for her fans. What’s not to love?
