Two people fell short of hitting the $344 million Powerball jackpot by just one number, but they still won big prizes.
A player in Virginia and a player in Minnesota matched five winning numbers, but not the Powerball, in the Oct. 25 drawing, according to the Powerball website.
The Minnesota player won $1 million and the Virginia player purchased the Power Play multiplier, which doubled their prize to $2 million.
The winning numbers were 2, 12, 22, 39, 67 with a Powerball of 15.
No one won the jackpot, which rises to an estimated $358 million, with a cash value of $170.7 million, for the next drawing Monday, Oct. 27.
Nearly 645,000 other players in the U.S. won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, results show.
What to know about Powerball
To score the jackpot in the Powerball, a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.
The odds of scoring the jackpot prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
Tickets can be bought on the day of the drawing, but sales times and price vary by state.
Drawings are broadcast Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays at 10:59 p.m. ET and can be streamed online.
Powerball is played in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
