  • Woman recovering from injuries after fiery wrong way crash on I-10, victim’s family says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department said one person is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a wrong-way crash on I-10 on Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred just before 1 a.m. near Lockwood when a driver in an Acura NSX was allegedly traveling the wrong way on the freeway and collided into 21-year-old Jordan Johnson, leaving her critically injured, according to HPD.

Days after the incident, Jordan Johnson’s family is speaking out about what happened and driving safety.

“I didn’t see my daughter’s face or find out any injuries for hours. I didn’t even know if she was alive,” said Jasmine Johnson, who is Jordan Johnson’s mother.

Jordan has undergone multiple surgeries to fix injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Johnson family.

The Johnson family said the family was told that Jordan will require more surgeries to fix injuries sustained in the crash.

HPD told ABC13 they have not publicly identified the driver of the Acura NSX.

Driving safety is something the Johnson family want to stress.

“If you’re riding these freeways, please be more aware of what’s ahead of you,” Jordan’s father Reginald Freeman said. “Jordan’s journey is going to be long to recovery. We just want the best for her and hope that God will see us through this thing and make sure that she’s okay.”
