Harrison Twp., N.J. (WPVI) — Two people were killed when a driver lost control and crashed an SUV into a Gloucester County home before catching fire.
The deadly crash happened along Banff Drive in Harrison Township just after 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The entire street was blocked off with yellow police tape. as smoke poured from the SUV and the house.
Harrison Township Police Authorities say a family was inside the home at the time of the crash but was not hurt.
Neighbors are stunned.
“It had to be medical. Why would somebody floor it going into the driveway and go across the grass?,” said Gary Devine of Harrison Township. “Unless it was a car malfunction, like maybe the pedal got stuck. I don’t know what happened. I guess the experts will figure it out.”
The house has been deemed unsafe to live in.
