HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — With Christmas Day in the rearview mirror, some people are starting to think about cleaning up and getting ready for the New Year. For some folks, that includes taking down the Christmas tree.
Houston’s Solid Waste Department says you can drop off their trees at a recycling location from Dec. 26 through Jan. 23.
There are 20 recycling drop-off locations throughout Houston, according to the city. You can check out the list of residential tree drop-off recycling locations here.
When it comes to disposing or recycling your Christmas trees, make sure you remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, wire, nails, and stands from the tree. And make sure the tree is not flocked, painted, or artificial.
