Antioch police found a 9-year-old boy struck by gunfire Sunday afternoon and identified and arrested a 17-year-old a short time later. The boy is expected to be okay.
ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) — Antioch police say a 17-year-old was arrested after allegedly shooting a 9-year-old boy Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Sunset Drive.
Police say when they arrived, they found the little boy had been struck by gunfire.
The boy is expected to be okay.
Police say they later identified the suspect as a 17-year-old, who was taken into custody a short time later.
Police are now investigating the motive.
