ALLERTON, Bronx (WABC) — Five people were shot, one of them fatally, in the latest rash of violence in the Bronx.
Police say they have five people of interest in custody including a 24-year-old man who was seriously injured in a crash at Arnow and Hone avenues, just a few blocks away from where the shooting took place.
The car he was in is believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting on Allerton Avenue around 7:30 Monday evening.
The street was blanketed with paper cups police used to mark evidence.
Authorities say someone in a car opened fire on group of people outside this deli, killing a 25-year-old man.
Two other men, ages 25 and 21, were shot in their arms.
Two other 27-year-old men suffered bullet wounds in their legs.
They were all taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The person of interest injured in the crash was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Three guns were recovered. The shooting is preliminarily believed to be gang related.
