'Suspicious package' prompts evacuations, closures on Vancouver waterfront

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The sighting of a package deemed suspicious by police prompted closures and evacuations along the Vancouver Waterfront late Friday morning.

According to Vancouver Police, the downtown area south of 6th Street between Esther and Columbia is currently closed while police are on the scene.

Police say locations within a half-mile radius of the area are also being evacuated at this time.
