Joshua Cash, suspected in an Elk Grove shooting, surrendered in the Bay Area and faces charges including attempted murder.
ELK GROVE, Calif. — The suspect in an Elk Grove shooting turned himself in to law enforcement in the Bay Area Thursday morning.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, officers were called out to the Chevron at Kammerer Road and Promenade Parkway for a shooting around 7:45 p.m.
They said an argument led to an exchange of gunfire between the victim and suspect, leaving a 21-year-old man down on the ground near the gas pumps. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.
The suspect drove off after the shooting, but police said 33-year-old Joshua Cash turned himself in to Bay Area law enforcement Thursday morning. He was taken back to Sacramento County and booked into the Mail Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
